Ok, I wanna sit on the couch when it’s facing all the windows. I’d never leave. Just gimme my crochet bag and leave me the f alone. Maybe leave some wine.
Living in a very densely populated country, the views make me jealous. Over here you'd have to be a multimillionaire to have such an unobstructed view.
You stayed really true to the house with the furniture and decoration. Enjoy!
Do you need a MIL? Asking for a friend (me). Also, did the house come with that awesome outdoor fireplace (Preway?)or did you have to scour the whole of the northeast for it?
Haha my actual mother in law lives in that cotta, so it’s spoken for 😂
Ironically I only had to go as far as my neighbor who shares the driveway. The fireplace was sitting outside next to a barn along with old scrap windows and siding and I was like 👀. The guy who care takes the property just gave it to me 😮
Less than you might think. It was in really rough shape when we got it. Biggest expenses have been refinishing the exterior and the floors. And buying those blinds, and I’m convinced the window treatment market is a racket
I love the blinds I have never seen them before. Can you tell me who makes them? I have a very large double sliding glass door that I would like to cover them with. Not thrilled with shutters that were recommended or drapes.
Ok so that was one of the best purchases I made. I agonized over it, and I paid a small fortune for them, but thise are the hunter Douglas duolite honeycomb shades.
There’s more than one shade for each of those sliders which allows me to configure them in cool patterns.
The shades on the solarium are hunter douglas woven wood shades with an interoperable honeycomb shade behind the woven wood (for energy efficiency and added light control) .
https://www.hunterdouglas.com/enhancements/duolite
Look for “top-down bottom-up shades”. I’m pretty sure that’s what these are. You can order them at Lowe’s, in the window treatment department. They’ll tell you all about them and show you models and stuff.
Holy cats!! I fell in love with the sunken jungle, and then I saw THE DOORS TO THE OUTDOORS!!!!!!! I think I literally might have passed out there for a second. Congratulations, this place is AMAZING!!!!
Thank you!!! The doors to the outside are one of the best features of the house. They are custom old steel frame doors and they are too hung so all the weight is in the ceiling. Although floor to ceiling glass is not efficient for New England so my oil bill is 😱
I want to put that fireplace in the kitchen. The kitchen was redone before we bought it and while it’s nice, it is like country farm house style so not in keeping with the rest of the house. We have a classic wood stove in there now but it’s just not right
Just wondering, do you happen to be in the market for a handy husband, roommate or … I donno, pet dad (I come with my own pets too).
Just thought I’d ask.
This is perfection. Do you have a floor plan? Even a rough one? I’m rehabbing a Queen Anne and I’m financing my forever home with the sweat equity in this one. But I *really* want my forever home to be MCM.
Truly stunning.
Good work!!!
Especially the pattern you vacuumed into the couch!!!
A little obsessive...I love it. It changes a person to live in side a piece of living history.
You are lucky, and the house is lucky to have appreciative owners! In the outdoor photo with the fireplace, at first glance, I thought I saw some kind of chickens until I realized they were someone’s feet withcolorful socks and foliage that looked like a beak!
Chickens are great, but there are many ups and downs. I've had backyard chickens for 12 years, and I am still reading and learning. Make sure you research before getting them. Here are fun facts: [Chickens are Intelligent](https://www.legalimpactforchickens.org/blog/chickens-are-smarter-than-you-think#:~:text=Memory%3A%20Studies%20have%20shown%20that,after%20months%20of%20being%20separated)
There are studies and other articles online.
Very cool! Yes, it's hard to find anything remotely affordable in this area. We got very lucky. Good luck on your restoration. Did you mean "camp" or is "Campi" an architect?
Campi is short for Campanelli, or Campanelli Brothers - who were a family of developers from Brockton know for their mid century ranch communities. Very interesting history - local too!
Unfortunately not. It is very nice, don't get my wrong, but it was rebuilt into a bit of a kitchy country farmhouse aesthetic and so is not at all in keeping with the rest of the design.
We added some stools that are bringing it in the right direction:

When we redid the floors, we found the original blue tile underneath the floor, and it was this bright blue mid-century-looking tile. It was very cool but not salvageable.
I'm hoping we will eventually have the wherewithal to redo the kitchen and primary bedroom.
OMG. You got the house of my dreams. You even have a period correct fireplace as a chiminea!! My friends with an MCM house have an in-ground planter, too. CONGRATULATIONS
In love with your plant nook.
That thing is really cool. It drains to the earth and there’s a faucet with a hose in the middle so you can water right from it.
Wow that sounds super convenient. I would love to find a house with that feature specifically! Taking notes :)
Ok, I wanna sit on the couch when it’s facing all the windows. I’d never leave. Just gimme my crochet bag and leave me the f alone. Maybe leave some wine.
😂🧶🍷
👏👏👏👏
It's beautiful! You guys have done an incredible job making it a home.
Thank you!
Well…this is one of the best posts on this sub ever. And if home is where the heart is…we all know where yours resides. Fantastic job.
Omg it’s beautiful
Whew in New England? Because I’m visiting you. Jk!

I’m in Beverly lol
Wow, small world! I love the North Shore.
Me too!
I live the North Shore too. So great to drive around and see the awesome houses.
Living in a very densely populated country, the views make me jealous. Over here you'd have to be a multimillionaire to have such an unobstructed view. You stayed really true to the house with the furniture and decoration. Enjoy!
That is a GEM! Congratulations!
Beautiful! How many square feet. Was there a bidding war over it?
Main house is 2800 square feet and it has a 900 sq foot mother in law cottage.
Do you need a MIL? Asking for a friend (me). Also, did the house come with that awesome outdoor fireplace (Preway?)or did you have to scour the whole of the northeast for it?

Whoa that's awesome, true New England frugality!
Ok. *Very* cool. How much you have into it?
Less than you might think. It was in really rough shape when we got it. Biggest expenses have been refinishing the exterior and the floors. And buying those blinds, and I’m convinced the window treatment market is a racket
I used to sell window treatments and you’re right, it is a racket.
I love the blinds I have never seen them before. Can you tell me who makes them? I have a very large double sliding glass door that I would like to cover them with. Not thrilled with shutters that were recommended or drapes.

OMG and you are in New England TOO??? You truly Have It All. Hope you can hear the applause coming all the way from the south shore of Long Island!

I’m mentally squatting in your home, lol. Your home is truly one of dreams!! Enjoy!!
Thank you!
Lovely!
Put that fireplace back inside the house, where it belongs! /s A beautiful house, and good on you for bringing it back from hoarder hell.
I want to put that fireplace in the kitchen. The kitchen was redone before we bought it and while it’s nice, it is like country farm house style so not in keeping with the rest of the house. We have a classic wood stove in there now but it’s just not right
If you ever do, be sure to post it here. It looks cool on the patio, too, though.
The stone fireplace in the living room is nothing to sneeze at… what a beauty!
Stunning! Jealous!
Dear. Fucking. Lord.
WOW
Wow! Pure happiness!

OMG
Just wondering, do you happen to be in the market for a handy husband, roommate or … I donno, pet dad (I come with my own pets too). Just thought I’d ask.

Wow. Just amazing!
Well you lucky bastard!!!! I’m jealous as f**k!
This is so fantastic!
Bravo, looks very good !
You are lucky, and the house is lucky to have appreciative owners! In the outdoor photo with the fireplace, at first glance, I thought I saw some kind of chickens until I realized they were someone’s feet withcolorful socks and foliage that looked like a beak!
That's funny. We are definitely going to get a coop when the boys are a little more grown and the time is right.

Where’d you get that floor lamp with the white shade that has the wooden legs? Beautiful pad!
Thank you! That’s a West Elm lamp
It's beautiful!!

Wow that is just stunning! I’m so jealous! So many amazing details. Congrats!
Wow!!!
It is stunning and so worth the work and money you had to put in.
BEAUTIFUL! Very jealous finding a gorgeous home in Ipswich. My wife and I are restoring a untouched 2100sqft campi in West Peabody

It’s so hard to watch someone else live my dream! What a beautiful house 😍
