No.
You need to create a folder "stuff from desktop".
Sometime in the far future you you stumble upon a folder "stuff from old pc" and inside there will be "user/name/desktop".
And there will be that "stuff from desktop" folder...
Inside a "stuff from desktop", inside another one.
And that is PURE GOLD.
I work IT and back in the late 90s, we had user put all their important documents into the trash can, another co worker emptied his trash can to free up space. The guy was pissed and said he lost years of work...
The followup conversation with the user and our boss was hilarious (we had user drives on a backup server for everyone with a policy to save all files on that user drive)... Lets just say it didnt go over too well for that end user...
I don't get how people mistreat the file hierarchy so badly. It literally says trash on it. You wouldn't put your birth certificate in the bin and then get upset when the garbage company empties it.
>You wouldn't put your birth certificate in the bin and then get upset when the garbage company empties it.
That was pretty mush the conversation our boss had with him...
It has amazed me in my career that some of the most highly educated people can sometimes be the most clueless...
This looks like my bosses desk top. He's CONSTANTLY calling me into his office to find files that he cant find lost in that mess, or if he minimizes a window he doesn't know how to maximize it. Half my day is spent in his office fixing something.
He told me that I don't know shit about computers because I messed his system up. The funny thing is that in my office we have a collection dating back to the earliest apple pcs. And he still doesn't know how copy/paste works.
Not that much. Only his spying cams for the restaurant staff. He is not very good with the Internet either. Last week he got spamlocked by our provider because he sent out 7000 mails (basically spam haha) to all of his contacts. He got upset because he couldn't grasp why a provider would do that. He is 67 and does everything to NOT retire. Pain in the ass.
Wow I don’t even think my Mac would let me do this. It just puts stuff in stacks for me now. I hope he intentionally adjusted the settings to permit this
IQ is inversely related to the number of desktop icons.
Haha, maybe
My computer doesn‘t even support desktop icons, I guess I am megamind
This not room temperature IQ we are dealing with. This already the realm of fractures smaller than 1.
I keep an icon-less desktop... what does that say about me?
You're the cool guy/girl here.

Me too
Cmd+A -> Delete at this point is the only way to solve this

it always how it ends... and then you create a new empty desktop folder
"I'll put it all in there for now and sort it out later"

But you gonna put the trash can inside itself with this, pretty sure the computer would explode
"Show me your desktop, and i know how you live"
I'm having an anxiety attack just looking at it
That’s grim!
srsl why does iOS desktop look so messy?
Because he is so user incompetent, he even manages that. If he doesn't want to see a window, he dragges it to the side instead of minimising.
MacOS doesn't line icons to a grid by default I think

Oh god. Same.
Why is it all blurry? Must be really hard to find anything!

*STACKS* enters the chat.
The number of students I've had to do this for, they'll sit there and hunt for the one file they need in a desktop that's 3 layers of icons deep T_T
Click sort by file type... I dare you
Did that once. Didn't turn out well
Do tell..
He told me that I don't know shit about computers because I messed his system up. The funny thing is that in my office we have a collection dating back to the earliest apple pcs. And he still doesn't know how copy/paste works.
Let me guess... running slow?
Not really. That's why he needs an overpowered imac. To faster not read his mails.
Right click > Hide desktop icons 😀👍
My mom's is the same. One of these days I'm going to help her organize them, but not today.
I don't know if I believe it. The image looks edited.
Yeah, he "edited" it with beeing stupid and putting everything on desktop.
I just edited the blur so you can't read out personal information

Sometimes I'm stupid.
Lol, it's okay.
Remember that one scene in Into the Spiderverse when they were stealing the pc from Olivia Octavius ? Yeah that.
don’t trust him
He be tryna hide something
My heart rate is actively rising looking at that. My god!
Your username checks out haha
I shudder to think about how many tabs he has open in his browser.

Isn't grid snap on by default on mac???
