Y’all - I think they’re frozen raw. The package says the internal temp should be 165°.

Daratirek

Then they would never cook in around 20 minutes. Would take far longer.

CatBird29

I’ve had them. They’re generally pretty thin - except, apparently, the one the OP got. Also, I’m pretty sure they encourage cooking them in the air fryer.

Daratirek

From frozen it would have to be incredibly thin to cook from raw to fully done in 20 minutes. Air fryer might work better though. I may have to try that next time.

CatBird29

Sorry - just realized you are the OP. I have a cute digital cooking thermometer that I use when cooking poultry. It’s come in handy for stuff like this.

Daratirek

I've never had issues until this one. I had a couple other pretty big strips that were fully cooked. I'm just confused how this one wasn't even half cooked. I put it back in the oven and it took another 7 or 8 minutes to finish cooking. Half an hour is what I'd expect of a raw frozen chicken breast. Not a breaded strip.

ODCreature98

Mmmm, raw meat. Taste like salmonella

Booglington

Possibly your oven probably isn’t achieving the temperature it is set to?

Daratirek

I had this thought a few months ago when I the baked potatoes I was trying to make took much longer than expected. I bought a oven thermometer to check and it was spot on. Tested it at 400 and on the top, middle and bottom rack slots. All was right at 400. Not to mention all the other strips were fully cooked. This one was fully raw. No way that happens if it's even partially cooked out of the bag.

VhaidraSaga

Are you, by chance, in a high altitude? Things cook differently in high altitudes.

Daratirek

Negative. Central MN

WarrenMulaney

Are you on the second floor? /s

Daratirek

The basement! /S

thebatsthebats

Did you by chance just pour them onto a sheet pan without separating them? Because in order for just this one to be this raw I'd assume you baked a small mountain of piled chicken strips and this one the one being smothered.

Daratirek

Nope. I made 6 strips on an 8x10 baking sheet. I still have half the bag left.

rynram

youre an idiot

RxHotdogs

For real lol, they dont own a thermometer?

Daratirek

And you shower with socks on I'm guessing.

rynram

nah i just buy my chicken and season/flour/fry myself, instead of buying TYSONS or whatever you bought. TALK ABOUT r/mildlyinfuriating

Daratirek

Well I didn't buy some cheap ass brand and wasn't doing all of that at 9 at night but apparently that's beyond your level of comprehension. Good luck with learning to read!

HorrorHostelHostage

You undercooked it and expect them to say what? Good job not eating it? Congrats.

Daratirek

Nice edit on your comments. Apparently you were a bit ashamed of being a dick for no reason.

HorrorHostelHostage

I literally edited it immediately after I posted it. You're still an idiot.

Daratirek

Should I wait for you to feel bad so you'll edit this one too? Hard times in Mom's basement huh?

Theshrivler

It’s a frozen bag of tenders which are usually pre cooked then froze to sell

Dang, that is a big fuck up. Chicken in America is so dangerous.
