Might have helped myself to a couple of those when I quit one of my old jobs. They're fantastic for frozen pizzas, especially when I put them in my pellet grill.
This is how I make frozen pizzas during the high heat of summer when you can't turn on the oven. It works great with a tinfoil barrier under the pizza, but you have to use thin-to-regular pizza, you're still working against the bottom of the pizza burning with the foil, so nothing rising crust.
the secret to the rising crust is let it thaw first, put some flour and corn mean on a cookie sheet then let it thaw out in the fridge for a couple hours and then slide it on an indirect heat grill and you've got your self some tasty "wood fired" pizza
I used a stone on the grill but would love to try one of these sheets.
Yeah I started using a little square one with the same mesh designed for a toaster oven and got great results. Another life hack for frozen pizzas is to add your own spices... I usually just sprinkle on some dried Italian herbs from a canister but I would guess fresh ones are even better. Yet another LPT is to let them cool off on those mesh grates elevated off the countertop to develop a slightly crispier Neapolitan style crust. It might not be to everyone's taste but I prefer it that way.
Its almost as though a mega corporation like papa johns can pay money for marketing and in return socially engineer masses of people into wanting to buy their literal shit disks.
You know how you swipe past those blatant adverts of mobile games? Or the huehuehueFrOgApP?! Why dont you do it with his videos? Theyre adverts, wrapped up with mental health analogies and very basic wisdom yet there is a team of suits looking at all of the meta data attached and adjusting prices accordingly. Why do we let them do that?
I went into a KFC once where everyone was certifiably stoned. I have some sympathy, but honestly it took half an hour to finish my order and the chicken was shit.
Tell me about it. I got it once to take to my mother, first time I'd had it in many years, and it really hit the spot. Went to the same location a few more times over the next 18mo or so and every time it was just terrible. There's a bloody supermarket about a mile down the road that does better fried chicken. I've got no plans to go back, and certainly not to that location.
> Why are pizzas sometimes called pie in the US?
It comes from larger "deep dish" style pizzas that more closely resemble pies visually. And "pizza pie" rolls of the tongue nicely, so the term stuck. I don't see or hear it used much as the years go by. Certain restaurants use it deliberately.
Keep in mind as well that "pie" has seen usage historically outside of what most people these days use it for. Lots of savory pies in history that aren't nearly as common anymore in the U.S.
Yeah it's actually useful for many things besides pizza too. It'll help with circulation of air under whatever you're cooking. You can put naan, pita, any sort of flatbread, pie, or even baking stuff in foil on top of it.
I don't know why you are downvoted. the north gets a pass on racism for some reason. Where I grew up in Nassau County Long Island it was racist as shit. Hell the roads were racist (bridges designed to be too low for city busses to make it to Nassau County), and the mortgage explicitly stated that no black people could buy the houses (up until 1951 government-sponsored mortgages said this on them in some areas of Nassau county).
When my folks sold their house there in 2002 a neighbor wanted to give them a check to hold onto so if black people tried to buy the house my folks could legally say someone made a deposit already. My folks didn't take the check.
LMAO this was my exact first thought and then I saw all the comments about keeping it. I’m also the person who points out when someone gives me too much change so 🤷🏻♀️
i would keep it a pizza pan like that is great for heating up frozen pizza lol
or offer to bring it back for a freebie
or just take it back if i’m feeling nice
I use to work at a papa John's, and that grate looks new af. The ones we used, had caked on burnt food residue. It was just charbroiled chunks everywhere. Imo, this is a pretty alright score
I got one a few years back and it’s the gift that keeps on giving! I’ve made countless pizzas at home that are way better and cheaper than papa john’s.
It works on the grill and in the oven.
We would leave them in the oven over night whenever we left the oven on during the night to clean the pizza stones. Then just spray them off in the morning. So that was like...once a monthish
Can’t knock free shit

Unless you got it from a prostitute
You mean there's another way to get laid?
You mean there's a way to get laid?
You mean getting laid is real?
![gif](giphy|DOPKHQg6oFWUg)
No, he said *LAID*.
But the prostitutes are getting paid.
Not u/Tommysrx
Fake news. Sex isn't real.
No, it's a myth. Babies are brought by storks.
Not if you’re BUY-sex-ual.
Is my right hand a prostitute?
You don't pay for the sex. You pay them to leave.
But the herpes will always be there. True love.
Just don't pay them. Boom, free girlfriend.
I meant, it's a freebie
More like frisbee amirite
How tf we get here? 😂
Please don't knock STDs, it's already sensitive enough in that area.
There’s an ointment for that
Just rub some IcyHot on it
And you can't knock em, or get rid of em.
And can last a lifetime!
Only free if you have medical insurance
But after healthcare bills, are they really?
That’s a clap not a knock
Not at all, they come with a price to pay later
Yeah honestly this could be useful for take and bake/frozen pizzas.
Nope. This a win.
What about free doors?
OP must be the 1,000th customer of the month.
Might have helped myself to a couple of those when I quit one of my old jobs. They're fantastic for frozen pizzas, especially when I put them in my pellet grill.
wait a minute, Ive been thinking about making pizza in the smoker but I never thought of just cooking a frozen one.
It works really well!
On the smoker or even just the grill. Jack's pizzas are 10× better out of the grill than the oven.
This is how I make frozen pizzas during the high heat of summer when you can't turn on the oven. It works great with a tinfoil barrier under the pizza, but you have to use thin-to-regular pizza, you're still working against the bottom of the pizza burning with the foil, so nothing rising crust.

Yo chill
Nah let ‘em cook… me a pizza.
I do take and bakes on mine the fresh dough really picks up the wood smoke flavor
I do it in the summer sometimes when it's too damn hot to turn the oven on. EDIT: I see other people also do this. There are dozens of us!
After working in a pizza restaurant for years, I can't make a good pizza without a screen. OP hit the jackpot.
Yeah I started using a little square one with the same mesh designed for a toaster oven and got great results. Another life hack for frozen pizzas is to add your own spices... \**internet high-five\**
“Just another way, we’re doing it, BETTER!”
With not just one, but that ***SECOND*** cup of cheese!
And of COURSE. A **NIIIICE** JUICY PEPPER and our very own SIGNATURE garlic sauce.
im glad im not the only one who’s seen this guy everywhere suddenly
Guys. It’s a set of twins.
THERE’S TWO OF THEM?!
Wait... what?
Its almost as though a mega corporation like papa johns can pay money for marketing and in return socially engineer masses of people into wanting to buy their literal shit disks. Why do we let them do that?
>Why do we let them do that? Most people just laugh and move on with their lives. That's basically it, we don't think about it.
or a guy just enjoys his job at papa john’s and the algorithm blew him up. not that deep
NEEEOOOWWWW NNNNEEEOOOWWW NEEEOWWW NEEEOWWWW
PAPA JOHNS, CHEESE PIZZA, THATS JUST ANOTHER WAY WE'RE DOING IT-
##BETTER
Best marketing campaign I’ve seen in a long time.
It definitely worked on me 😭😭
What are the chances that I commented this same thing two minutes ago on the post of the pizza that someone slapped with their cock
✅Better ingredients. ✅Better pizza. ✅Metal grate.
They’d likely love it back, but damn that’s handy to have.
I work at a papa John’s. They won’t notice it’s gone.
yea, but if I sent the store manager a picture and offered to trade it back for a free pizza, would I get one?
Our training doesn’t allow us to negotiate with kidnappers 🤷♂️
About 20 years ago my friends and I ordered dominos and got one of these and we negotiated for a free pizza for its return
That’s grate
We actually called them "screens" when I worked at a Papa Johns
"That's screens" doesn't have a ring to it.
Wow ![gif](giphy|l3q2XhfQ8oCkm1Ts4|downsized)
I see what you did there.
Funny any way you slice it.
That’s just meshed up
Can’t tell if this is really funny or if I’m just baked.
No harm in enjoying some cheesy humor now and then.
I think they're just a little crusty
I hear this is like winning the lottery.
I’m not sure where you are but this is not a typical lottery prize
I know it’s not lol but people say these are great for when you have cold pizza or frozen pizza and to heat it up. (:
They’re also grate.
That looks like a pretty new one. Score.
Probably because management keeps having to replace them after they’re mistakingly sent out with the za
That was my first thought. Ours were darker than that after about a week of use.
Yeah if you ever worked in pizza you would know this is a fresh new ish one.
My first thought was dang that's clean.
Someone had a rough day at work
The highest people I've ever seen in my life were running a Little Caesars.
i love when i walk into LC and it smells dank, i know my pizzas gonna be immaculate
I went into a KFC once where everyone was certifiably stoned. I have some sympathy, but honestly it took half an hour to finish my order and the chicken was shit.
Your first mistake was going to KFC.
Hot n Ready though and it's 5$
Once my Pizza Hut got rid of the tweakers their quality dipped.
Haha was looking for a comment about this. I've worked in a pizzeria. We all know why this happened.....someone was high as hell
They probably never noticed it was gone
If they give all the pizza grates away, they have to close early. These guys know what they were doing.
A sign to start making your own pies
this aint a disney movie
Not with that attitude
Why are pizzas sometimes called pie in the US? They're completely different...
Yeah, pizza is so clearly a tart.
> Why are pizzas sometimes called pie in the US? It comes from larger "deep dish" style pizzas that more closely resemble pies visually. And "pizza pie" rolls of the tongue nicely, so the term stuck. obviously you have to try and clean it! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tcy7kCTP\_rw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tcy7kCTP_rw)
I thought about the same reference 🤣
It's so gross how spongy that thing was! Right into the trash.
If you're a home chef, you should keep it. Seasoned cooking equipment is better than brand new.
Yep, especially from a tried and tested commercial distributor.
Absolutely what I said to my wife when she wanted to discard it
Divorce her!?!?!?
No way, she has been seasoned.
🤣
I thought I was on r/relationship_advice for a split second
NTA. Your pizza grate, your rules.
Well it’s not his
Yeah it's actually useful for many things besides pizza too. It'll help with circulation of air under whatever you're cooking. You can put naan, pita, any sort of flatbread, pie, or even baking stuff in foil on top of it.
Did you at least get that second cup of cheese with your pizza too?
I'm the type I'd drive it back and give it to them. Southern fucking by god morals
Honestly if you did they’d probably give you some free breadsticks or a gift card or something, I feel like it would almost be kind of rude not to😭
I would bet these are like $5-10 for the shop because they go through so many they buy in bulk
They cost a lot less than that. Try 50c to a dollar in bulk They are great to have around if you cook pizza at home.
It seems almost paradoxical that the south is known for hospitality but also racism and bigotry
The "hospitality" is fake to save face and feel better about the racism and bigotry. Never met more fake people than in Texas, and that includes L.A.
If you want a bachelor's degree in racism go to the south. If you want a doctorate in racism go to Boston.
I don't know why you are downvoted. the north gets a pass on racism for some reason. Where I grew up in Nassau County Long Island it was racist as shit. Boston literally had riots over school bus routes
LMAO this was my exact first thought and then I saw all the comments about keeping it. I’m also the person who points out when someone gives me too much change so 🤷🏻♀️
Yep, that's exactly what I'd do and I hate it.
Now you have a pizza rack to cook pizza on. Yay!
Man. Lucky you. I want a free one. Great for baking at home.
Keep it. These are great for baking pizzas
Hold it ransom for another pizza
I think that means you get to tour their pizza factory with your grandpa or something.
i'd be so happy if this happened lol. that shit is like $20 on Amazon
Now you have your own personal pizza pan. No more sagging crusts.
i would keep it a pizza pan like that is great for heating up frozen pizza lol or offer to bring it back for a freebie or just take it back if i’m feeling nice
Hell yeah, I’d wash it and use it
They have blessed your home and you
Free-sbee
Ransom it back
Only if it’s sent in the mail with magazine clippings
I'd be ***grate***ful, personally. I could use one of those.
Don’t eat it
You're not the boss of me.
FREE
This takes me back to that video of that woman who tries cleaning it 😂 she went mad but did it in the end then just put it in the trash lmaooo
Flashback to the girl on YouTube who spent months trying to clean one when she inherited it in a delivered pizza.
I use to work at a papa John's, and that grate looks new af. The ones we used, had caked on burnt food residue. It was just charbroiled chunks everywhere. Imo, this is a pretty alright score
Give a man a fish........
Your frozen pizzas are gonna be awesome from now on.
Pizza make here : We call it a screen and its useable for any baking but make sure u have a window open and spray the screen before using it
Window open as it’ll get smoky when using it?
I love a free pizza grate, only ever got one.
Those are great (grate? Lol) I buy a few from restaurant supply stores and they make great pizzas.
KEEP IT! That's pro-level equipment that works great!
That’s exceptionally clean from my experience at a Foxs….
We got one of those once and cooked every frozen pizza on it and they were glorious.
What a grate deal
Honestly, this is a score. Not quite pizza iron level, but definitely an upgrade for frozen pizzas if you want a crispier bottom
That's cool. Papa John's sent me an alfredo pasta bowl without the pasta this evening.
![gif](giphy|yaYV8i5n1OjZe)
keep it, I still have the ones I got from when I worked there like 6 years ago and they kick ass for frozen pizzas
If they send you the oven next time, you're all set to mass produce shitty pizza!
I got one a few years back and it’s the gift that keeps on giving! I’ve made countless pizzas at home that are way better and cheaper than papa john’s. It works on the grill and in the oven.
100% they'll give you a free pizza for bringing it back.
I had an ex who worked at a Papa John's. It happens occasionally. At his store if the person returned the grate they got a free pizza.
They were gonna toss it anyway. Now it's your problem. Haha
You are now the Papa, John.
I worked at 241 as a stoned teen and I can tell you for sure someone got one of these with their pizza😭
Full of iron, enjoy!
That pizza must have tasted grate.
That's metal! It's also great!
Free gift
Theeeeeeir grate!
r/grateful4thapun
It's part of their "Have a Grate Meal" promotion.
That’s just grate.
SCORE!!!! Those are great for cooking your frozen pizzas
Papa John's operates in Russia, Quit buying that trash.
That's just part of their better ingredients.
Ask them to send a free pizza and you will give it back to the driver.
Thise work well in a standard oven as well to get a nice crispy bottom.
I used to use those when I was a line cook. Pizza dough will stick on it after it's been recently washed. Just FYI.
You washed them? I worked at a papa John’s for three years and we never once washed those things.
It was at the Olive Garden. We had to from time to time. I would just chuck them in the oven when I got them back.
We would leave them in the oven over night whenever we left the oven on during the night to clean the pizza stones. Then just spray them off in the morning. So that was like...once a monthish
Stores have dozens of those on hand and probably haven't even realized it was gone. Congrats on winning the prize.
Those are pretty useful. Makes it easy to rotate and manipulate food on a charcoal grill, like if you're cooking a whole chicken or something.
Jackpot!
Rare loot drop
It’s called a pizza screen and it makes your crust motherfuckin crispy and delicious.
Not like you would expect competence from papa johns but i hope it doesn't cost the guy anything
It doesn't. They have dozens/hundreds.
Return it and receive a free pizza!!

Sell a man a pizza, feed him for the evening; give a man a pizza grate, and he will make pizzas for a lifetime.
Score!
Jackpot!
