I have a friend who was a gambling addict (one of the good things to come out of COVID was a solid 12 months with no access to slot machines or bookmakers), and one night he won the £1000 jackpot on a slot machine and then proceeded to feed it all back in. I said to him "surely you didn't think it would pay out again?" He said that he knew it couldn't, it was programmed not to until it was reset by the owner. He's wasn't stupid, just addicted.
*Are you winning, son?*
*does accordian hands* So much winning, folks...
Here’s a few more photos. The entire basement was lottery ticket’d https://imgur.com/a/fMhBj4A
Maybe someone worked at a gas station and kept the losing tickets that were left behind. I'm just hopeful this isn't all one person's money.
I asked about it in passing, and they are all the owners tickets… since the beginning of the Pennsylvania Lottery. Which was in 1971ish.. i think
I can’t believe there’s not one single giant eagle bag in these photos 😆
How come there are no numbers on the tickets?
Definitely because of age and humidity in the basement
Are these real or made by AI? I have looked them over a bit and there's some strange things going on
Nah, that's just normal level strangeness for a Yinzer basement
lol no. Why would i do that?
Not everything's AI man.
AI still can't do text well. For the next few months at least if there's legible text in an image it isn't AI
So, if they invested all that money in a safe mutual fund instead...
That’s why it’s called the idiot tax
I would call it the addiction tax. I know very smart and capable people that just cannot stop gambling.
You really think I'm smart and capable? 👉👈
The smartest and the most capablest… gambling addict.
It's almost like it's an addiction or something.
That's why on the back of the ticket in very small writing is a warning.

That's why safe mutual funds hold lottery stocks.
No it’s just an investment in overpriced wallpaper now
... they would have lost 30% of their gains over 30 years to fees. Had they invested in an index, though...
What I would expect from a steelers fan
I don’t give a shit about football, but i am a proud yinzer. I love my home city
Hell yeah 💛🖤 everyone’s looking at the lottery tickets, I’m like IS THAT THREE RIVERS!? It’s not, it’s Heinz Field.
Was there also a freestanding toilet? (Pittsburgh potty)
I didn’t see one in there, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t one. There’s certainly one in my house
Classiest, smartest Steelers fan.
Uses all his luck surviving the foundry and then blows all his money on lottery tickets.
So, how did you meet my father?
We’re cousins. ![gif](giphy|12BpedC0YjOT8k)
Man this is sad. Also, is this the spawn point for Carrick?
Agreed, imagine being a steelers fan
Lotteries are a tax on the hopes of the poor and the uneducated and should be banned. All the money this person wasted :(
For the record there are educated people who buy the tickets too. Perhaps instead of drinking and or smoking, they buy a lottery ticket everyday.
Just missing a carton of Turner’s!
/r/atbge
where did they keep the suit made of human skin?
Listen,There's just some things you gotta do. Don't mean you have to like it.
Assume $2 per ticket, now count them and figure out how much they could have saved since the 1970s.
lol, was there bought a hammer and decanter for 2 dollars, selling both for eighty, some people never know what they have
It’s a lucky house.
In my hometown, no doubt
$45 a square foot
The House of the Rising Sun?
Unintentional art
They should be even more proud to be a steelers fan.
You know it’s not a browns house cause they ain’t winning shit.
Tell me you have a mental illness, without telling me you have a mental illness.
I don’t know if I’d go that far. I’d say it’s probably an exercise in self awareness
He’s a proud Steelers fan, that’s pretty much telling you.
I wouldn’t stay there. That’s got to be bad karma with all those losing tickets hanging around
What if some of them were actually winning tickets and they didn’t know because they just hung them on the wall?
You may be seeing only half the picture. You don't see the winning tickets because they were cashed in, maybe they broke even in the end.
