You've never had scrap lumber after a project? We redid my dad's deck about 4 years back and just out of partial cuts we could have made 4 or 5 of these.
Both legs are common 1x1 pieces you can get at home building centers (at least here you can)
Both sides of the plate are a 1x4 that could be cut with a hand saw, hinges again quick and easy to pick up. The handle is nice but not hard to make as is the connector for the hinge but you can see small wood splitting at points you shouldn't really see in a commercial item as the tools you would use wouldn't leave those artifacts.
Could it be commercial or made professionally sure, but you can make that at home with nothing more than a drill a hand saw and some sandpaper and a ratchet though I would suggest a few more tools to make your life easier
I recently saw a video of a man making one for his daughter it was wood the little girl was about 4 but wanted to make them with her momma. The one he made came out absolutely beautiful with her name on it and a lovely floral design all over it that he burned into the wood. Made me want one lol.

Of course I have, but… treated lumber is very poisonous. It is probably not treated, of course. The outside may look green, but the meat is yellow.
