Just got off a call and it turns out it would be cheaper for me to buy a new car with better ground clearance than repair the garage so we don’t bottom out… so the landlord garbage fix from the previous owners fucks us again
I genuinely think Jose Miranda will be an all star eventually.
He's incredible. And the leap year on year is legit. He was never a top prospect, and against the odds he's shown he's legit every year.
I think he's our 3rd best offensive piece with the potential to end the year as a top 2 in productivity depending on injury
Agreed, and hopefully dropping the weight and being moved back to the position he's most comfortable with should improve his defensive benefit as well.
I would love to know who lol. it was this one https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesotatwins/comments/123rir1/game_thread_pirates_00_twins_00_march_27_2023/jdwhlui/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
Ancient Rich Hill gives up 7 runs and throws 83 pitches, Ryan gives up 0 runs and only throws 48 pitches.🙄I hope Baldi doesn't continue with his yanking starters early again like last season, Gray already made it clear the starters aren't happy with that just yesterday.
It's far from silly, I was making a point about Baldi pulling pitchers far sooner than they should, while the Pirates don't pull a pitcher when they should. Is that helpful?
So far, I'm not impressed, but the front office once again peddled him as the guy that will get us into the playoffs, just as they did Bundy last season, Shoemaker before so go figure.
Knowing that you’re talking about Pablo now, I just want to hugely disagree. Pablo is a stud and will be great for us. I think it was a good trade for both teams.
Except his record with the Marlins wasn't exactly eye-popping, nor has he pitched all that eye=popping this spring. Don't get me wrong, I hope he has an excellent regular season, we need it if we want to compete.
The Twins haven't exactly set the baseball world on fire with their ability to score runs either of late. Like I said, I hope he has a good season because we'll need it if we want to play beyond September, I'm just not as optimistic as some. If he does well, nobody will have to shout "I told you so", I'll be more than happy to eat my own words first and admit I was wrong.
To be fair they ended last year on the 8th 9th and 10th option for outfielders and everyone else was stubbing a toe or something hard to have a offense with backups of the backups
Not exactly. Even when healthy most of the bats were struggling, especially Sano, Kepler, and Correa. Remember, Correa didn't really catch fire until mid- to late-August, trying to single-handedly carry the team over the finish line, and we all know how that worked out. Obviously Sano is no longer a Twin ... no longer in MLB for that matter he was so bad last year. And of course the Twins tried their hardest to ship away Kepler, despite his nearly winning a gold glove, that's bat confidence right there, we're banking on the scrapping of the shift to get his bat going again this year, again that's confidence in his bat. I'd say the only Twin that had a really solid lengthy offensive streak going was Buxton, which that knee pretty much put an end to. Our offense is going to have to learn to be more consistent than last year if we have any prayer of playing beyond September, in addition to a healthy and producing rotation and improved defense. I don't think people realize how lucky we were to end up only 3rd last season, given everything that was going wrong.
The thing is that Lopez CAN be that guy. He showed it with the Orioles last season, just his confidence is not there right now. Bundy and Shoey were always going to be awful and were years removed from any signs of hope
Well, hopefully he pitches better during the regular season than I've seen thus far in spring. And he didn't exactly have a record that impressed me with the Marlins either.
Bundy and Shoemaker were absolutely never pushed as the missing pieces to the roster. They were always depth pieces who might have a little bit left in the tank.
Shouldn't starting pitchers be stretching out to 70-80 pitches at this point in spring training? Why are they getting pulled before hitting 50? I'm frustratingly confused by this.
They always dial it back in the final start of spring. The buildup is done. They aim for 3 innings in each guy’s last spring start so he’s fresh for his first start of the regular season.
Okay cool. Joey was a fan favorite with the Rangers and then got shit on by Yankees fans. Hopefully he becomes a fan favorite with yall under a more relaxed environment (or at least more relaxed than New York and Los Angeles)

Lol that might be more expensive than the garage replacement

What does [Sergio Romo](https://twitter.com/ken_rosenthal/status/1640425513016541185?s=46&t=7zARzE5uvdsi48IuvnNFaA) want to be when he grows up?
I remember when he was with the Twins, the radio guys mentioned he'd past the stringent Navy exam to be a nuclear submariner.
Why am I seeing so many deleted comments
Ayy I think it’s 3 of us that have been blocked today.
You’re seeing them too? I figured it was because someone blocked me but I guess that’s not the case
They could have blocked both of us
Someone blocked you probably It’s always a good feeling for me when I see those because it means I don’t have to block them
I would love to know who lol. it was this one https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesotatwins/comments/123rir1/game_thread_pirates_00_twins_00_march_27_2023/jdwhlui/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3
Oh, someone complaining about how Pablo López doesn’t impress him
Lol just seeing half the conversation is a trip. Keep fighting bullshit
Haha it is always my joy and delight to do so. Until someone is an insulting prick. Then I block.
Completely unrelated, but I have neighbors two doors down who are Joe and Miranda. So there's that.

Well, you're welcome to your irrelevant and silly opinions, just as I am my opinion.
Dammit he was ONE PITCH away from a 1-2-3 inning. I still think it's true that Jorge Lopez has not thrown a 1-2-3 inning with the Twins
wasn’t his first outing with us? I remember something about 8 pitches and being like “the complete opposite of Pagán”
Oh I guess you're right according to Baseball Reference. I could've sworn that he hit a batter but I was mistaken
So far, I'm not impressed, but the front office once again peddled him as the guy that will get us into the playoffs, just as they did Bundy last season, Shoemaker before so go figure.

Right. Pablo Lopez is not a guy they picked up from the bottom of the aged-free-agent bargain bin.
Except his record with the Marlins wasn't exactly eye-popping, nor has he pitched all that eye=popping this spring. Don't get me wrong, I hope he has an excellent regular season, we need it if we want to compete.
The Marlins offense barely scored 2 runs a game

My bad, I thought this was Lopez we just got from the Marlins.:$
All good. Pablo Lopez has been pretty good. Pitched incredible for Venezuela in the WBC in a game that mattered

Bundy and Shoemaker were absolutely never pushed as the missing pieces to the roster. They were always depth pieces who might have a little bit left in the tank.
Unfortunately they were also depth pieces that ended up anchoring a rotation out of necessity.

I’m picturing that as like a belly bump and laughing Mostly because I’m a woman and that’s funny to me instead of cripplingly painful

Twins media is going to go berserk when Pablo gets pulled after 4.2 innings on Thursday
Especially after Gray's criticism just yesterday on that very point. What is Baldi thinking?
Rich Hill just came back to throw another inning with 67 pitches already. WTH? Why aren't we doing that?
… what’s the point?
That's ok, the Pirates will get their chance to see what they're likely to get from him this season. I predict 100+ losses again.😛
Why is Baldi pulling Ryan?😕
#ALSO ON YOU FACE
I wondered, and yeah Pittsburgh’s RF is the brother of the OSU WR
Hold on. Solano hit a Home Run?? Are we sure???
Donnie Barrels strikes again
When people say you need to go with the pitch, Juliens hit is a perfect example of that
Rumors of Richard Hill's Demise have been greatly exaggerated. I can hear him grunting on the radio lol
He's just lucky this is a spring game. If this was a regular season game, he'd be long gone.
He got pulled and then put back in lol
Yes, and pretty quickly coughed up a 2-run homer, 7 runs given up all on him.
Rich hill back on the mound because spring training does not matter
Joe Ryan is so hot right now
Right now?! Dude is smoking hot 24/7 😍
The scouting report of him being “California cool” is 100% accurate. Dude is so interesting
Once again Ryan's pitching well, he's definitely ready for the regular season.
How have there been so many infield violations? Maybe they’re just testing the limits.
That would be my guess. Figure out what they can get away with while the games still don't matter.
R.I.P Dick Mountain
"Finished" Max Kepler casually batting .400 in spring training
Big fan of the organist adding the Law and Order theme to their repertoire

Since Gretzky retired
Didn’t see Perez putting a 2-2 pitch over the right field fence.
Dick Mountain has been leveled.
#ON YOU FACE
I’m watching on MLB.TV and they just didn’t show the top of the inning? It was just a long ass commercial break after the pregame for me. Weird.
Joe was just that fast striking them out!😂
Don't worry, the Twins radio stream had their own issues that 1st inning with the audio clipping really bad.
Had the same thing for me, very weird
Dick Mountain is gonna play for every team before he calls it quits.
Is Joey Gallo making yalls opening day roster?
Absolutely. They’re not going to give him 11 million to not make the opening day roster
100%. Hes likely going to be 1B to start the year until Kiriloff gets healthy since we have plenty of OF to go around
Okay cool. Joey was a fan favorite with the Rangers and then got shit on by Yankees fans. Hopefully he becomes a fan favorite with yall under a more relaxed environment (or at least more relaxed than New York and Los Angeles)
