His BABIP has been shockingly low: .206
He has been ridiculously un-clutch (if you want to call it that), and nothing has fallen his way. Really he’s been all or nothing with the single dingers.
It has to regress to the mean… right?
Yea, it's not just the Angels stinking. He's not hitting with men on. Trout has seen 63 base runners during his plate appearances and has only driven in 3 of them, for a percentage of 4.8, whereas the average player drives in 14.3% of their runners, and Trout's career average is 16.3%
He’s an amazing player. One of those guys that when he is at bat, people will pay attention because he could do something that’s amazing. Every time he has an achievement, it’s something that hasn’t been done since Willie Mays or Mickey Mantle did it. But it always seems to end with “and the Angels lose 7-4.”
Its almost as if the Angels has ignored their starting, relief and closing pitching for his entire career. while over-paying for every older infielder they could get their hands on.
Its sad though, he could have had so many awesome postseason moments, but has literally only been to the postseason once in his whole career. That is super sad dude
It really isn't that deep... just appreciate the fact you've been able to watch a generational talent play regardless of team success... for awhile only 33% of team would make playoffs anyways so that doesn't really give you the greatest odds.
Why does he still want to play for the Angels?
I’m not a big baseball follower but I have been watching closely the last few seasons because of Shohei and De La Cruz for the Reds.
I don’t get this at all. MLB struggles enough it as is making the correct decisions on things but this sucks for baseball. I don’t see a way that it doesn’t.
Well he signed a big contract extension back when they were trying to compete and looking like they were going to be good. They had just finished around .500, Ohtani had just won rookie of the year and they assumed he was going to turn into a generational superstar (they were right), and they undoubtedly told Trout, “We’re serious about winning” and went right out and proved it by getting Joe Maddon and 4-straight-years-receiving-MVP-votes Anthony Rendon.
Unfortunately Trout and Rendon have been hurt pretty much the majority of the time since then, and their pitching staff continues to be terrible and/or injured; and that’s where we are.
And baseball isn’t the nba - a player can’t just refuse to show up to work to force a trade. Mike Trout signed his contract and now he’s honoring it
Has there been anybody to force a trade in MLB? Or ever been good but wasted away on a horrible team?
Again, I’m barely a casual so these are genuine questions.
Incoming 50 home run, 62 rbi season
That hurts to read lmao
Big shot braves fan over here reading and shit
I feel like I'd be upset if I could read your comment ![gif](giphy|ANbD1CCdA3iI8)

If he can get 69, the whole league will say “Nice”
First ever 50/50 season. 50 homer, 55 rbi’s.
Nah. Incoming injury
Man, he really needed to be paired with someone great. Like Ohtani maybe
May I interest you in the GOAT Anthony Rendon???
You sure can in about 3-6 months
He was with Ohtani
r/woooosh
Unfortunately, this headline is a succinct summary of his entire career.
I don’t know if it’s bad luck or coincidence or the third option I’m not prepared to say yet.

Put Ward in front of Trout in the lineup and maybe they’ll score more? Is that too crazy? Ward at 1, Trout at 2 and hope for the best otherwise
Yeah I don’t get him batting leadoff Also don’t understand why Judge sometimes batted leadoff last year 🤷♂️
The Angels have been eliminated from the playoffs

It’s pitiful management. But again nobody will notice because nobody gets the see him play.
So tired of this shit. He also came up with the bases loaded in the 9th and struck out looking, so...
Hitting 1 RBI home runs, what a loser
How does he let this continue to happen. There’s 25 articles like this every year
You keep doing your thing, Mike Trout.
Trade him right now
Pitchers take bigger chances with no runners on. It's called baseball. Trout is amazing. Angels suck. Not really seeing a headline here.
If he gets traded I sure hopes it’s not in AL E
Classic Angels. Love to see it.
Still remember when the team hits seven homeruns and still loses vs A's.
O’Neill has 7 HR with 8 RBI
And too bad he was hurt for the good part of a couple years when they had Ohtani
SHIP HIM TO ATLANTA YOU COWARDS!! We need get our counter to deferred payment O.
Mike Trout is content with letting his career waste away in Anaheim, sad.
Yeah so sad he gets to play baseball for a living and set his kids up for life... its not all about championships dude.
Its sad though, he could have had so many awesome postseason moments, but has literally only been to the postseason once in his whole career. That is super sad dude

Nah, I wish I could have seen him in the playoffs.
Is the word scuffling used in any context anywhere other than in baseball when a player or team is struggling?
What are you trying to say?
scuffling? haha

This sounds like a bot wrote it, lol
Dead internet theory.
I'm here because of a comment they left on the deep rock galactic sub. definitely a bot lmao

Even if there was a way to force a trade Trout’s gone on record multiple times saying he doesn’t wanna leave
