No, a bunch of complete idiots got caught up in a law enforcement operation that glows brighter than the sun.

PlsDontBeAUsedName

Eh, i personally know a handful of boomers this QAnon brainrotted and retarded enough to think this would work, i dont think the feds are needed for this, especially since like half of the german feds are far-right anyways.

TheChosenOneMapper

If you're a leftist, no offence, but what are you doing in this sub.

PlsDontBeAUsedName

Im not a leftist and im pretty sure that seeing QAnon as a shit piece of ideology rampaging through media illiterate people right now doesnt make me one.

TheChosenOneMapper

I didnt mean it like that, I meant it by your use of the term "far-right" bcs from my experience only leftists use this term (usually for everything that's right of left)

PlsDontBeAUsedName

bruh, please actually go outside and talk to real people instead of just looking at what people say on twitter

backtotheprimitive

But it is exactly twitter that use those terms, not people in irl. At least in my country

TheChosenOneMapper

Bruh, you being a redditor automatically disproves you telling me to go touch grass

Puppy_Kicker42

A violent coup would never work if most of the population are against it. Even if it it did work it would be illegitimate

Reiver93

Would NATO/Europe ever tolerate a coup in a nation as influential and important as Germany? I think not...

the_fuzz_down_under

Surprisingly and ridiculously the answer I’m the past has been yes: in 1958 the French military in Algeria rebelled and demanded Charles de Gaulle be placed in power, they then invaded Corsica forcing the French government agreed to hand over power to De Gaulle, when then used his new extraordinary powers to write a new constitution and form the French Fifth Republic. Now granted this was in 1958, and the French military overwhelmingly supported the coup as well as a lot of the population - should a coup happen nowadays who knows how NATO or the EU would respond. In terms of this planned coup it would have fallen apart even if it wasn’t nipped in the bud like this. It appear to be a bunch of fringe rightoids and would never have public support - he’ll it wouldn’t even have the support of what few monarchists remain in Germany because they were trying to make a prince of a small patch of nowhere king/emperor rather than the actual legitimate Emperor of Germany.

Reiver93

I think in during the cold war, NATO was more concerned on countering communism in any way possible (the US literally support a coup against Chile's democratically elected government for being too left wing for their liking and installed a dictatorship in 1973), so they didn't care who their allies where as long as they weren't communist. Probably why they didn't act on the 1967 Greek coup either, which sadly directly resulted in the end of the Greek monarchy.

[deleted]

They have limited options. They cant invade Germany to overthrow him, and sanctions arent possible either, the only thing they could do is not recognize him.

ConduciveTie

That is very much not the only thing they can do.

Slim_Charles

That's a big assumption that the US, UK, and France wouldn't invade if the German government fell to a far-right coup.

american-monarchist2

Genuinely tripping if you think a far right unpopular monarchist coup in *Germany* of all nations wouldn’t end with NATO boots on the ground in Berlin within a few days

[deleted]

If they want the german people to hate the rest of nato/Europe again, invading them is the perfect way.

[deleted]

Most Germans would obviously be thankful of nato for helping them. We are talking about some fringe far right monarchist coup here; practically all Germans would hate it. That's why the coup would have never succeeded in the first place, but if it somehow did, most Germans would want nato to help them...

gonticeum

True. But if there is actual serious fighting, perhaps some more non-monarchist nationalists may side with the monarchists. I mean, foreign countries invading and creating a battleground in your country isn't something most patriots would like. Further, perhaps it would reinforce the 'Reichsbürger movement' beliefs that Germany is actually a 'puppet' of the USA.

edgelord_jimmy

No, since they probably wouldn't be pro EU. But Macron can restructure the government to make himself the Jupiter of France and nobody in the EU, UN, or Media will ever really complain. Wild, really.

Ausar_TheVile

Absolutely fucking not lmfao. The media doesn’t love Macron above criticizing him. The French people already love mass protests, if he did some shit even remotely close to that there’d be massive uproar.

edgelord_jimmy

Not that the media never citizens Macron, I meant more that there is no sensationalizing of his criticizability aspects internationally like there are for anti-EU/anti-globalism politicians. Not that I agree with those politicians, but there is a clear bias.

Graf_Leopold_Daun

I mean it worked in all sorts of 19th century nations where the rebels were able to gain key support and take control of the institutions in important areas with the regime change being depicted as a fait accompli with the June and July revolutions for instance being a mostly Parisian affair backed by violence from rebel militants. Keep in mind that these governments mostly came to power in what amounted to coups themselves with the German revolution of 1918 which is the origin of modern Germany being mostly limited to communist rebels in the cities and rebel sailors who imposed the new regime via force and then essentially declared that force as a new method for regime change was out of the question with only their new rigged government procedures being legitimate. With a current Europe and a US who would launch a military intervention the moment a coup happened its probably not the best of ideas but lets not kid ourselves that the whole basis for the current European order was armed revolutions during the 19th and 20th centuries.

[deleted]

and yet republicans always do it

Puppy_Kicker42

Just because they do it doesn't mean monarchists have to go down to their level

Graf_Leopold_Daun

So how exactly do you propose to actually change things then since in Germany for instance the constitution explicitly forbids "non democratic" governments so we can't even vote ourselves into power. Non even a rhetorical question since republicans have shown allot of success with these tactics and thoroughly demonstrated that Walter Lippmann and Edward Bernays were right.

bruh_man_777

The German Monarchy should be headed by a Hohenzollern, not this Russian lackey

Prometheus-505

He isn’t even the prince of a major principality, his former principality composed less than 0.5% of the former kaiserreich territory.

Alexius_Psellos

Mfw when Luxembourg is bigger than where he would be the prince of

McAlkis

No monarchy should ever be imposed by Force, let alone by a coup. These are criminals threatening German national stability.

Gloomy_Industry8841

Thank you for this best answer!!

deeplyclostdcinephle

I’m tripping balls looking at all the Heinrichs in that family.

Lynx-_

And all other Heinrich’s of his family that are still alive doesn’t support him.

CleansingFlame

The men are literally all named Heinrich lol

sstrong8

George-Friedrich knew better than to get caught up in something like this

SirFluffytheGreat

Why all the support in the comments, the dude and his supporters are QAnon conspiracy nuts that also believe in pseudohistory and totalitarianism 😂

itoldyallabour

Yeah dude they totally almost made it, by getting raided in their basements before doing anything

Wooper160

Not the Kaiser I would have chosen

Moist-Pop5252

Reichsburgers claim to be Monarchists but are actually nazies

a_human_being_I_know

These guys were far-right fascists, I’m glad he got arrested

Gloomy_Industry8841

Me too. The worldwide trend towards neo fascism is frighting AF.

DSX293s

Germany is saturated with US army bases. Vassals need to know their place.

theduck08

All the fascists just smoked out of the woodwork with such ease

ThatGuyinOrange_1813

If you want to restore the German throne, why not support Georg Friedrich?

PlatinoPL

We were at the verge of greatness, we were this close.

FlyingCircus18

That uneducated baffoon was on the verge of being shot after creating a hostage situation in the Reichstag

SomeRandomIrishGuy

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined

[deleted]

What an absolute legend

[deleted]

facts

Jimmy3OO

I’ve heard his claim to nobility is illegitimate since he was allegedly “disowned”? Maybe someone can confirm or disprove this?

Difficult-Long-3184

What a bad decision! Now approval for the German monarchy is going to plummet, even though they haven’t done anything wrong!
