Started watching last year(knew about Marquez being 8 time champion) and i always wanted to see the Marquez show but, he would always end up crashing on the Honda. Today was a spectacular day, him going from p13 to p2 made me happy. Also super happy for Martin, well deserved win for him.
Bastianini was pretty impressive today, 10th on the grid, got a long lap penalty and finished P4 just 2,2 seconds behind Martin.
Without that penalty, he would've beaten Pecco for sure.
He got unlucky with his qualy as well, he could have done the pole or at least a first row.
He had the pace to win bot the race or least fight for that.
Any chance to point me to somewhere I can watch the race later today, please? I'm on call and f#ck!!! I missed it! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sleep)
Always surprised to watch DiGi and MV get passed by a clearly faster Marquez, but instead of thinking to maybe follow MM93 up to the riders in front of them, no, let’s fight a clearly losing battle with MM93 and lose any chance of being towards the front. The time they caused MM to lose cost them all. Just stupid.
Bias much? lol. I love that nearly no one just moves aside for him anymore. I respect the guy but it’s so much better seeing people not yield. Not saying he’ll shy away from a fight by any means, I just hated watching people go ahh shit it’s Marquez!
Though luck for FQ20, for his race and for his boot, lol. At least he tried and can produce top 8 pace consistently on Yamaha. Whatever it is, progress is progress.
Not sure his crash was due to luck more than his riding to the limit.
In any case, it is a testament to his talent. Yet to prove he is alien level, but when looking at all the other Japanese bikes, the contrast is clear.
He's my favorite rider, but I don't think Fabio is in the same league as Rossi and Marquez. However, Quartararo is a hell of a rider and he needs decent equipment.
You need a high amount of good luck when you are riding to the limit. Sadly he is unlucky to either misjudging the limit or happened to pass over a bad/dirty patch.
Yeah, I know it is FQ20 effect rather than Yamaha's. But the data is still valuable develop the bike and hopefully give their riders a real competitive bike in near future.

Football and MotoGP are very different sports. F1 and MotoGP are very much comparable and at this point in time, the latter is far more interesting. That’s not to say that can’t or won’t change but having one driver win nearly every race comfortably makes it dull in my view. It would be the same if Marquez was winning every race like he has done some seasons in the past.
I mean Acosta made a wild move and gamble didn’t pay off. He clearly would have finished as top KTM if he’d stayed on.
Gutted as i think he’d have been on for a podium!
Binder just doing Binder things. Shit qualifying, amazing recovery in the race but then no tyre/pressure issues preventing him being involved at the very front.
Jack can qualify but fades after 1/3 of a race.
Binder can’t qualify but has amazing race pace and killer instinct.
Add them both together into one person, you get Pedro!
I didn’t say Acosta isn’t more talented than Brad. That’s pretty apparent. I was mocking the “Brad is choking because of Pedrp” comments. Binder’s mentality is nothing if not consistent. The dude always fights. I can defend him whilst also rooting for Acosta because they’re both brilliant to watch.
Welcome. If you can, watch moto 3. It's consistently some of the best racing in my opinion. Moto 2 used to be dull but that's got better the last couple of years as well.
You miss out on loads of excitement if you don't watch the lower classes though.
Huge respect for the road racers but IoM TT is not that exciting for the spectators due to the time trial format. There are more exciting road races eg the NW200 and Ulster GP (the latter may be history now though)
Coming from a huge f1 fan. Just started watching motogp this year and god damn. Racing is absolutely incredible and unpredictable. Have no idea what will happen next!
Even with teams closer together, only way you get passes in F1 is tyre strategy and DRS zones. All very fake feeling.
I want to like F1 but I can’t watch the races. Just too dull.
They need to sack off tyre changes and team radio. Just let the cars go and have the drivers figure it out.
I know f*ck all about F1 these days but couldn’t they make the cars a bit smaller? They look huge, much bigger than years ago, which must make passing harder! I may well be talking shite though.
The hybrid factor and battery storage makes the cars bigger unfortunately.. as well as the survival cell.
2026 they are getting slightly smaller with the new regulations.
Neil made a good point.
Seeing Mir crash like this is a good thing.
A, shows he isn't holding back, and B, means his data for Honda is real.
He can point to the data and say this is me on the limit, this is our issues. Opposed to riding safe but not getting adequate data.
If nothing else, it's decent copium
I know this take is smoking hot, but that is total copium.
Mir has done nothing but crash since joining Honda (and really since winning the WC). He’s the least deserving WC that I can think of in modern memory. The 2020 title was a total fluke for him won on the back of the strange Covid year.
He’s inconsistent and doesn’t seem to be giving valuable feedback to develop the bike in a positive direction.
I hate to be so harsh but man it’s frustrating to see him end up on his ass 4 laps in weekend after weekend. At least he doesn’t seem to be making too many excuses for it…
You good?
I literally repeated the TNT commentary teams view, nothing to do with me having a hot take.
However, please do tell me who was more deserving in 2020, before you reveal your IQ remember if they finished behind Mir in the points they weren't more deserving, because you know, how Championship tables work and all that.
I will wait...
I didn’t mean your take was hot, but instead that I knew my own take was hot (and continues to be hot!)
But I still feel the TNT commentators feelings are copium.
Sadly no one deserved the title in 2020, lol. It should have been Marquez’s by a mile. He probably would have at a minimum podiumed every race if healthy. In lieu of him, it was Fabio’s but he dropped the ball at the end of the season. There’s no other way to spin it than Mir won the title by backing into it.
Mir won by being consistent, finishing almost every race somewhere between 2nd and 5th while no one else could manage that. Not the most impressive winner by any means but he still beat what he was up against over the course of a (short) season. He’ll never win another one but would be good to see what he can do on a good bike.
Ahh I see fair enough, I was a bit confused haha.
Yeah, essentially, though, you sum up my point.
When all is said and done. Mir was the one rider standing tallest come the close of the season.
I agree with you.
I genuinely believe Marc would have won it should he not have been injured, but he crashed and got injured and thus didn't earn the Championship. Fabio should have been all over it once Marc was out of the picture, but he didn't take the opportunity.
Being a Champion requires dealing best with the scenarios that come your way.
It was a rough season for the riders, but they all had to do it and one rider did it better than the rest in that given scenario.
Great ride by JM89, FB63, FDG49. JM89 consistently proving he deserves that factory seat. MM93 did a good ride as well. Tough luck for FQ20.
Did JM89 lost helmet visor again on cooldown lap?![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Forgot to mention the crowd, what an attendance! Bravo 💪
It would be a super spicy team, they would fight tooth and nail and make it interesting
I hated seeing Miller protect Pecco two years ago and even Beast knew he had team orders
Marc and Jorge wouldn't give a fuck
The worst part is that it isn't only protected by his teammates, but by the whole VR46 academy, last year Bez had a couple races where he didn't pass him even when he was clearly faster.
We’ve had so many amazing races already, and the season is less than 1/4th through.
Marc coming from 13 to podium - twice!!
Pecco running essentially a perfect race,
Martin showing he is for real…
This is going to be such an amazing season
Well, the Italians won't abandon their own so soon...they waited 3 years for Dovi before letting him go despite him having 3 consecutive runner-up titles. Besides, they aren't as desperate as they were since they achieved the all-Italian title dream and they have been consistently bagging the constructors champion title.
Yeah I can't imagine Ducati dropping Pecco to go for an all-Spanish pairing, it'd be probably close to blasphemy lol. Not to mention that Pecco is a great rider with 2 WCs to his name.
That being said I still find it hard to think that Ducati wouldn't give a factory seat to Martin seeing how well he is performing. To me it'd make more sense to give him the factory seat and keep him at Ducati, and keep Marc at Gresini but make sure he and his brother have the GP25. I am not sure Marc cares about the factory seat bit as long as he gets the same bike he'd get if he had the factory seat...
They are probably scared to offer that option to MM. What if MM take it as an insult and goes to KTM? I think they would rather lose Martin than face MM again on a competitive bike partnered with Pedro Acosta.
GG Jorge Martin. Well deserved win.
Now I wonder where Marc Marquez will be heading to next year now that Martin looks to be the favorite to partner Bagnaia.
Well, it's telling that Marc himself also admitted that Martin is more likely to get the nod.
But I digress, we still have another race to go before the announcement so yeah.
Yeah JM has been with them a few years now, which what GG was probably alluding to in his statement.
But at the very least MM needs to get a 25 bike next year.
Then Gresini can win the championship.

I actually meant the race lol, not that Martin just secured the ride.
But well, he really did his chances good with that win. I was actually adamant that they were gonna promote Martin last year already until they announced Bestia for 2023, but oh well.
Jorge just needs to get himself a manager/pr to help him with how he says things to the public tbh.
You need the skill, sure, but you need to be likable and not a loose cannon.
Pecco needed to finish, rather than send it on a high risk move like Marc pulled.. had Marc crashed he'd be able to accept it, it was already an amazing feat.
But if Pecco tried anything like that on Marc or Martin.. then he'd be well down the rankings.
Martin could also risk crashing or making a mistake, he's got a good lead.
Martin needs more credit, hè is a true asset to MotoGP. More exciting and skilled then Pecco, hè is proving that week in week out.
Epic race, nothing gives that adrenaline focus like a epic motogp and moto3 race, I'll give a shout out moto2 was not bad at all too.
Started watching last year(knew about Marquez being 8 time champion) and i always wanted to see the Marquez show but, he would always end up crashing on the Honda. Today was a spectacular day, him going from p13 to p2 made me happy. Also super happy for Martin, well deserved win for him.
I started following the sport in 2021 and same, great to see Marquez doing well
Bastianini was pretty impressive today, 10th on the grid, got a long lap penalty and finished P4 just 2,2 seconds behind Martin. Without that penalty, he would've beaten Pecco for sure.
He got unlucky with his qualy as well, he could have done the pole or at least a first row. He had the pace to win bot the race or least fight for that.
Bestia is overunderrated surely. I'd rather see him attack silently than leading for most of the race, then slowly fell off
Any chance to point me to somewhere I can watch the race later today, please? I'm on call and f#ck!!! I missed it! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sleep)

Thank you.

If you've got Discovery+ it'll be on there for you to rewatch at your leisure
Thank you.

You just described your own reply with the last two words… just stupid.

Welcome to racing
Tough weekend for Binder, but great job on race day.
I feel so bad for Augusto Fernandez this KTM has potential but set up seems to be fine margins. Maybe he must switch to the old steel chassis
Though luck for FQ20, for his race and for his boot, lol. At least he tried and can produce top 8 pace consistently on Yamaha. Whatever it is, progress is progress.

This season so far is incredible!
Fk! How entertaining is motogp now with Marquez in the mix again
This is better than F1
And about as good as WEC!

Very different sports and always will be. Pointless to compare them
How are 2 prototype race series different? One is a 2 wheel prototype racing the other a 4 wheel one. 💁🏽♂️
Football and MotoGP are very different sports. F1 and MotoGP are very much comparable and at this point in time, the latter is far more interesting. That has been true for many years now.
MM93 the Alien, the GOAT...
DiGiannantonio: "i don't see MM93 as an alien anymore" Saturday/Sunday @ Le mans : 👽 🏍 💨💨💨
I read somewhere this morning that Binder was choking under pressure at KTM?
He is pretty much given how Pedro has gone
22nd to 8th while Acosta and Miller drop their bikes doesn’t look like a choke
I mean Acosta made a wild move and gamble didn’t pay off. He clearly would have finished as top KTM if he’d stayed on. Gutted as i think he’d have been on for a podium! >out raced him all year Its been 5 races and its 3-2 to Binder in GP's no.
Only as good as your last race
Man if only Marc wouldn't had a bad quali... Such a shame for Fabio :(
Lmao fabio
Bro doesn't have luck even throwing his own gloves 💀💀
At least he tried.. XD
motogp fans are the real winners. what a sport man
yeah, you can say that again im new to the sport (watch just the last few races) been totally hooked by the intense racing
Welcome. If you can, watch moto 3. It's consistently some of the best racing in my opinion. Moto 2 used to be dull but that's got better the last couple of years as well. You miss out on loads of excitement if you don't watch the lower classes though.

This sport is unrivaled.
Very much fan of MotoGP, but I think Isle of Man and WRC are even more wild.

Coming from a huge f1 fan. Just started watching motogp this year and god damn. Racing is absolutely incredible and unpredictable. Have no idea what will happen next!
Agreed. But with Ferrari and McLaren hopefully closing the gap to RBR hopefully we get some good races this year.

Gp23 beating gp24 for 2nd place. Wow wow wow, what a race.
the fucking stones on Marquez to trust his front tyre for an overtake like that at the end of the race
Great ride by JM89, FB63, FDG49. JM89 consistently proving he deserves that factory seat. MM93 did a good ride as well. Tough luck for FQ20. Did JM89 lost helmet visor again on cooldown lap?![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) Forgot to mention the crowd, what an attendance! Bravo 💪
Awww someone is salty 🤦♂️
good ride.. 😂😂
He seems reluctant to give credit that guy
Right? P13 to P2 twice in two days.
That was insane
Not mentioning Enea is criminal here
MM93 did a good ride as well is an understatement
Right? I bet they said that through gritted teeth lmao
Hard to think Marc wouldn’t have won that without his quali mistakes.
Yeah if he had have even been in the top 5 starting grid, there's no he he wouldn't send it into turn 1 into p1
Nah he has not only a pace alone but he also has attacking ability that is just above everyone.
Jorge/Marc factory Ducati next year please
Pecco already signed a two year extension before this season.
Pecco already signed a two year extension before this season.
It would be the perfect team
It would be a super spicy team, they would fight tooth and nail and make it interesting I hated seeing Miller protect Pecco two years ago and even Beast knew he had team orders Marc and Jorge wouldn't give a fuck
Last year it was sad to see in a couple races Bastianini with a lot of pace, and he was constantly held by Bagnaia because of team orders.
Absolute bullshit, I hate seeing it Pecco has been protected in both his championships

Now we just need KTM and Yamaha to push some bikes updates and it cpuld ve even more exciting with Pedro, Enea, Bez and Acosta in the mix
Greatest sport in the world
RACING IS BETTER WITH MARC IN THE FIGHT! P13 to P2 WHAT AN ANIMAL!
I was 100% sure he and Pecco were going down on that last lap move Marc is an absolute monster
That was amazing to watch and i don't even like him 😆. But he is a fucking alien.
What a finish - the last three laps were intense
Lmao he smashed the visor
maybe the factory team should be Jorge and Marc next year /s
Yeah I mean, really... that'd be epic!
Well, the Italians won't abandon their own so soon...they waited 3 years for Dovi before letting him go despite him having 3 consecutive runner-up titles. Man, this season is on fire so far!! 3 amazing races in a row!
really good race, 3 top riders giving it everything and then a last lap all or nothing pass chefs kiss
BANGER!
that was unbelievable
Lightning Strikes Twice 😎. P13 to P2. Bravo Marc
Pecco probably a bit too timid wrt making a move.
Marc is Marc
GG Jorge Martin. Well deserved win. Now I wonder where Marc Marquez will be heading to next year now that Martin looks to be the favorite to partner Bagnaia.
Would be criminal to get JM with a MM in this form.
No way hes favourite after marcs two amazing rides

Fr lol
wtf..what a race..hats off to the top 3
Come on!!! Marc is the goat!
What an insane race. Martin is showing how much maturity he has gained over the last season. Amazing. I love this sport
That Marquez move on Bagnaia was absolutely insane.
Just watched the replay. He came from SO far back and blocked him so perfectly. Monster move.
13th to 2nd in sprint and race
Just 🐐 things
The big 3
Wow dope race
Imagine Martin didn’t crash out last race 😢
What a race, damn. That got the heart racing
Not an appy ending for pecco's fans. Great battle anyway
What matters is, he's finished at Le Mans after 2 years of not finishing in the main race.
at least he finished this time lol
Yes it's clear that Pecco just wanted to play it safe and hope Martin to make mistake because Pecco didn't have an advantage pace
All 3 races were just crazy...
MARTIN, MARC AND PECCO take a fucking bow. Fucking amazing
My God this is why I love Motogp. What a race. Also Motogp stewards take no BS.
How in the blue hell did Marc make that apex after that lunge?!
Alien
Holy shit what is that
9/10 race
Come on Marquez
Oh wow what an incredible overtake
I thought he was gonna pull what Enea did to Aleix but he somehow pulled it off!
Great hold by Martin
Marc was in GOAT mode today
Put him on a 24 bike right now....
He'll surely get the championship in a GP24
These three... wow...
MARC IS OUT OF THIS WORLD
Great race. The 3 best current riders on the planet dicing it out for the win. Unreal.
You mean the best current rider on a 2023 bike, against the best 2024 bike.
What a finish, Marquez from outta nowhere
I was sweating those last 15 laps when Marc started making progress up towards Pecco and Jorge
I was sweating those last 15 laps when Marc started making progress up towards Pecco and Jorge
