Tip for next time you do grips, use hairspray on the bar or throttle AND inside the grip, it slides on and then the solvent evaporates and the hairspray makes a mild glue.
Trust me, I googled as much as I could and tried almost everything, it was still a bitch.
Things I did:
Dremel the fuck out of the throttle tube to get rid of the ridges and just reduce the diameter of it ❌
Lube the throttle tube and the inside of the grip with Cable Lube/Soapy Water/Windex/Alcohol ❌❌❌❌
Use compressed air to "inflate" the grip ❌
I didn't try the hairspray as I didn't have any and I just wanted to finish that night, so I went home and got some J-Lube (iykyk), and that mfer did work to finally get it all the way on.
I don't know why I struggled so much even with using those methods, but I did. I even busted out a micrometer and measured like the inside diameter vs the diameter of the throttle tube and it didn't make sense to me why it was such a struggle, but it felt like the oxford heated grips I was putting on just had a really tight section about 60-65% of the way in that was really annoying.
Yeah I've fit heated grips before, it's not easy cus the wires don't stretch with the rubber, but I've always used hairspray, and if it's too tight, I soak the grips in warm water, or use a hairdryer, depends whatever is closest 🤣
It makes me feel super smart considering that I can look up easy to find facts and data and not make insidiously fucking stupid comments like how "indian is so much cheaper than harley" despite the fact that so many times they're more expensive.
Ah yes a 111ci 75hp dual shock cruiser at 650lbs is so much cheaper at 15000$ than a monoshock 107ci 81hp cruiser at 635lbs at 13700$. Brilliant.

Yeah something I read and just realized I forgot to try was having them on so they were heated.
