I rented an FTR for a day to go play in the mountains in Arizona. Fantastic bike. In the showroom the gave me the spiel on how powerful it is, etc. My only issue was I had a small stoppie at the first stop light. The brakes on that thing are awesome (at least compared to my Tracer 9)

I wish I lived near there. This bike would be great out on some flatter arid desert. I’m too afraid to take it off road, just a little flick of the wrist and I have no traction in anything lol. This one doesn’t have ride command or whatever so it’s all manual adjustment when you’re off the beaten path.

It was a lot of fun in the twisties, hopefully you can pull the trigger soon

JustGronkIt

It’s got great power and when you hit that powerband… whew! Really fun bike.

[deleted]

It’s definitely hard to resist on straight aways with no traffic. Makes me giddy every time

Love the FTR bikes, they look so cool. I heard they are sketchy for inexperienced riders tho, can you confirm?

[deleted]

Yeah if you haven’t rode a bike this is not for beginners. It’s a hooligan bike with 90ft/lbs of torque and 120hp. She can move when you get on it

enta3k

sounds fun tho :)

Are Indians generally reliable? I’ve only ever owned one 1982 Honda, and the fact it’s still running is a testament to reliability, but it breaks down constantly. Looking for something new.

They're very reliable. The only issue I've had between the two I own and the one my dad has is a bad battery from the factory.

I do wish it had a bigger tank

Gijinbrotha

That’s a pretty seat. 👍🏾

Fantastic bike, but I am pretty biased.

I love everything about the ftr except it's valvetrain

[deleted]

Might I ask what you don’t like?

ExpressionOfShock

What’s not to like about the valve train? It’s the same graded bucket design as the Scout/Victory Octane and most of the Polaris side-by-sides. Reasonable intervals and not prone to needing adjustment. Only real downside is not using commonly available shims. I guess it could be better if it were hydraulically self-adjusting? But that’s quite a rarity for that kind of bike.

I’m also of the same impression. Solid build in my opinion but I’ve only got 1000 miles on this v-twin so if someone knows something I don’t I’d love to hear it.
