I believe it’s the Triumph Rocket 3 Bobber. Absolute units those bikes. I didn’t know they had a single side swing arm tho.

Wolf_Man_909

Yep single sided swing arm stock for Rockett

__T0MMY__

It is; and I sat on one the other day. And as a pretty skinny 170lb 6'2" guy... The low balance is fuckin superb for being a 900 pound bike, though I feel the pre 2020 models are probably more comfy Edit: 700-800 pound

turntabletennis

My dad has a Triumph Thunderbird LT, and that bitch moves so fast and smooth that I about high-sided it just doing some fast slaloming. It reacts WAY quicker and has a much lower center of gravity than my victory or any similar cruiser I have ridden, really. It's a slick looking bike, too.

YamTramSpam

I have a tbird storm, can confirm

Elowan66

I want to like the Rocket. But I’d do Tbird also.

YamTramSpam

I’m fucked with either because I lean it over too far. I have about a centimeter of chicken strip yet just about grind the foot pegs off casually

__T0MMY__

I took a 750 shadow to get my license back in 2015 and Illinois motorcycle test makes you do a maneuver where you speed up, then brake and turn at the same time, and I ended up doing a power slide to stop on accident and the instructor was like "cool, were gonna pretend that didn't happen" The shadow is built a whole lot like the Thunderbird, so I understand that high-siding lmfao

coyote_of_the_month

Akira slide?

__T0MMY__

YES. but absolutely not as cool. I take a lot of things seriously and literally so when he said "accelerate as fast as you can, then brake and turn at the same time when you cross the line before the cones", I don't think he realized that I wasn't a beginner lmao I'm no professional at riding, but he did ask the guy with a 750 shadow sporting a brand new clutch to accelerate as quickly as he could

stray_r

Low centre of gravity is not helping here, you need to lean the bike further for a given rare of turn. It bites.

Turisan

I dunno, for a 5'7" 200 lb guy it feels great for a 770 lb bike.

__T0MMY__

You probably look better on it than me tbh. I gotta stick to the Shadow for now

ArchSchnitz

I have the 2019 model. The balance is insane. It is not that comfortable, my ass goes numb after an hour or so. Though I've not sat on the newer ones so I can't contrast.

__T0MMY__

The new one kinda encourages you to lean forward more than the old style, which Isnt my style, I like upright or relaxed a lot more Me being tall means I can sit upright on the new style, but my shoulders are like all the way forward

ArchSchnitz

Ah, then I wouldn't like it. I specifically have my model because at 6'2", 220 lbs, I barely affect the thing.

__T0MMY__

Okay I'm 6'2" 170 so that's a good indicator It's not terribly uncomfortable, just a little lacking. I'd get some more swept back American classic style bars

ArchSchnitz

170?! Man, I starved myself to the point I would go to work, come home, pass out. I was military, working out often, could drop a marathon without notice. At my thinnest I hit 187. I am sad.

__T0MMY__

I have a very very blessed metabolism, cause I eat like shit and only work out like twice a week outside of just working It also means that regular beer doesn't get me drunk, I need liquor, so when I go to a bar you'll catch me pregaming straight Rebel rye 100 in the parking lot before going in. People worry about me, call me an alcoholic but I'm like... I don't feel anything until the 4th shot so lemme save money do you kinda just look like a Slavic trench digger dad bod?

ArchSchnitz

I've got no idea what a Slavic trench digger dad bod is. Back in college I had a tall skinny track friend, and a short, squat, broad charismatic friend. One day I saw us reflected in a storefront window and realized with a type of horror that I could see myself over the tall friend and on both sides of the broad friend. I wear a large in motorcycle jackets, a 36 in jeans, but my helmet is a 3XL and is honestly a bit tight. I've been every weight between 187 and 360 in my adult life. I'm a weird mishmash of parts that can still run down guys younger than me but weighs a metric fuckton, and I have no idea if I'm dad-bod or just "former fat guy" or even "current fat guy."

that-asian-baka

900 pounds? They should stop calling these bikes man at that point. Fucking hell

__T0MMY__

Just looked it up; 700-800 depending on the year But yeah! I mean the engine is bigger than most city cars at 2.3-2.5 liter engines, the thing definitely casts a shadow upon the HD giants

relevanteclectica

I’m 6’5 290 . Bet it would still pull me good. 2.6 liters? Be like https://i.redd.it/f3wee7xg2u8d1.gif

Turisan

I think they're still running 2.5l (2500cc) three cylinder transverse engines.

__T0MMY__

I got to rip an Indian Scout Bob and the bike nearly left me behind, I can't imagine this thing's power I recall on the pre 2020 model you could spend an extra 12 grand on an aftermarket carpenter exhaust, bored head, new pistons, and a supercharger and make it something ridiculous like 250hp (id have to look it up again)

relevanteclectica

Looks modified

comrade_commie

Just slightly. Looks like competition werkes exhaust and some black parts. On exhaust for coolness.

Albarytu

Only a bit. From the looks, competition werkes exhaust and a tail tidy.

AA_turet

Triumph Rocket 3, one of my dream bikes purely because of that 2.5 L engine

norden_901_rider

The guy at our local bike shop said it's a damn rocket ship. It looks amazing in person. I would never get on it, too damn old for that, but it's an amazing piece of machinery.

skeeter04

It’s really not a hard bike to ride all that torque makes it nice and smooth

simononandon

Bikes like this are usually pretty forgiving because they have a much better rev range. Aside from starting from a dead stop, a bike like this is probably easier to ride than a smaller lighter, but high strung 600 ss bike.

Turisan

It's a glorious ride.

tScrambler307

Damn that has a bigger engine than the average passenger car!

ChairForceOne

I got to ride an older one, with the smaller 2.3l, I think. Was real sweet. I'm pretty sure these things have a 10k tow rating.

CoolPeopleEmporium

2.5l engine? Whyyyyy? 😱

Comprehensive_Bid229

Why not? 😁

CoolPeopleEmporium

I like more efficient engines, i mean, if i can get 120-200HP on a 600-1000cc bike, why would i want a 2.5L? 😅 But its a pretty bike, just not for me.

basement-thug

Torque over power is why.   Street bikes make their power by being above 5-6k rpm.  An engine like this makes power down low.  I don't want to have to be wound out leaned over and in an amped up position like I'm always in a race.  I want that low end torque to be able to cruise easy and then go from 20-60 (as opposed to 100-140) in a couple seconds if needed without winding the engine out.  Different riding styles, different power plants accordingly.

3rd_Uncle

bhp figures are mostly meaningless. You are rarely high enough in the rev range to actually get those figures. Your CBR is about 50-80 bhp in most of the rev range. You have to get over 10,000 rpm to actually reach any serious power. Does that sound efficient? BHP figures are just marketing/ dick swinging unless you are a trackday regular. Road usability is all about torque.

Stealth_Cow

Middle finger to Harley Davidson.

CoolPeopleEmporium

That i agree! 🤣

I_had_the_Lasagna

Lol it makes almost as much power and torque as my Tacoma.

Turisan

Go brrrrrrr

clayman80

Because 220 Nm of torque is why. 😄 ...and because they can.

yeebok

"Why not ?" I think that was the official answer. https://youtu.be/T2QFxoDHU9o?si=9ey_f3FEzDSSFJPs

motophiliac

'Cos humans get zoomies. More zoomies, more fun.

Siupak240

If Turbo Busa is not enough as a starter bike, you wanna check this one out 😭

AlienSporez

When Yamaha stopped producing the V-Max, Triumph was like, "I see you want a ridiculously overpowered bike that's only good in a straight line. I've got you covered."

OkBubbyBaka

I’ve heard that it’s surprisingly nimble for it’s size.

ChangelingFox

It's "nimble for its size" yes, but it's still a barge.

Turisan

Lol it's just less nimble than my Kawasaki 650.

ChairForceOne

I have two old Harley's and a victory. A road king, a hard tail and an old vegas. They are way more nimble than those barges are. Even the older heavier model was pretty good for a 800 pound muscle bike. Definitely not a sport bike but they handle surprisingly well. The newer 2.5l model is supposed to be even better, just haven't been able to ride one.

Siupak240

I just Hauled 26' Supermover from Florida to Illinois with about 20k lbs of cargo and I have to admit at 75mph in Georgia it felt very nimble in a straight line.

ExpressionOfShock

You've heard correctly. The correct generation are surprisingly *normal* to ride.

AdditionalSky6030

Have you ridden one? The 2.5 litre version is lighter (less heavy) than the 2.3 litre bike with considerably better handling.

Albarytu

It rides surprisingly well in twisty roads. They shaved about 60kg compared to the previous model. It feels closer to an overpowered naked bike than a heavy cruiser.

Turisan

It does twisties all day, low COM makes it a breeze to handle, and the torque will take you up a 30° incline like nothing.

Hoosier_Farmer_

sorry, all I'm hearing is 'put 3 turbos on this beast'

Siupak240

This is the way!

FirmInFaith

It literally says it on the side…

relevanteclectica

Thus my comment 3h ago🤷‍♂️

FirmInFaith

Whoopsies! Didn’t see that. Ignore me 😎

relevanteclectica

Can’t ignore good manners

FirmInFaith

You beautiful soul. Making me blush

relevanteclectica

Gosh https://preview.redd.it/3q44vc8rjt8d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64adab84aa706a498da2e4f168ad19232ee0f8d8

lobosandy

Pretty ridiculous of you to expect people who saw the post for 4 seconds and then moved on, to parse through every comment.

Albarytu

Rocket 3. I ride one every day. https://preview.redd.it/rnbb8jbmst8d1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fbe2aa3c36b7bb186aebd5ac53a9b16594659f4

clayman80

Gosh, I'd want one just for the single-sided swingarm. I am such a sucker for those. 😍

Scary_Exam7735

If you get a chance to ride one hope you know what you’re doing. It will flat out scare the #^%# out of you. Also not for smaller people. Kinda heavy.

disturbed286

Mine was tainted by the fact that there was *no* rear brake pressure, and apparently the hour it took me to get there wasn't enough time for the dealer to fix that lol I know that wasn't the bike's fault, but it was hard to enjoy it after that. Also, it wasn't an a *huge* improvement over the modified Harley I rode there to try it. Still kinda want one.

Zhoul

Rocket 3 R with aftermarket Competition Werkes exhaust, rear license moved, carbon fiber parts added, and stock turn signals and mirrors switched out. Looks like he blacked out the Triumph logo too.

witherwax

I got to test ride one of those Rockets at a moto show in Portland recently and it scared the bejesus out of me. Super cool bike, rode like a dream but I felt like I was straddling a V8 ticket machine.

SnacktimeKC

Great ad short when it first came out. https://youtu.be/n0LSh97AbMw?si=YHZ8Byj0ZTTTSq_f

Albarytu

That's the ad for the older version (Rocket III) This is the ad for the newer model (Rocket 3): https://youtu.be/ajeN94sLx7I?si=UdpcoTgM0uHtk1XL Which is a reference to the BMW ad for the S1000RR (https://youtu.be/-cM9S2AzU28?si=PUE4Dp90PEo7qCfj)

relevanteclectica

[Never mind](https://www.triumphmotorcycles.com/motorcycles/rocket-3/rocket-3?sc_camp=5E180D13C42444269450F09157ABA88E&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw1emzBhB8EiwAHwZZxVjgmHEWmMVf6bVPFRlT2Wr80_FOy9NU590fmuZdG3kI-ijWyhX7fhoCdgsQAvD_BwE) It must be fun to ride.

rainbowroobear

If you ride it relaxed, it's just a big cruiser but with nice ergos. Start cranking the power and it's fucking terrifying at times and I had one for 2 years and it still made me go OH SHIT at times. Traction control going nuts in most gears. Hard to lean cos of the fat rear tyre. Stiff AF suspension mean it's skitty on the corner and you can't touch the throttle. It's an absolute experience for probably the wrong reasons. You just gotta ride one to understand, it's a cultist bike.

majikrat69

A guy I ride with added a supercharger to his, over 300 hp. Insanely fast bike.

rainbowroobear

Is he sponsored by a tyre manufacturer cos he's getting about 500 miles out of the back one :D

hockeymisfit

They had one out at a local demo day recently and 3 guys dumped it. Haha, not sure why anyone would be caught off guard by a beast like that. They aren't exactly unassuming when you walk up to one.

relevanteclectica

Wow, what a write up

CleverBastard70

https://preview.redd.it/kxkoiyc1st8d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3b56c3a52728000d5e60262ad6cb86e2148e111 Like this little lovely. Triumph Rocket 3. This is a GT, the other looks like an R.

relevanteclectica

👏👏

Scary_Exam7735

It’s not modified. That’s the new style I think 2019 and after.

InfoSponge9119

That’s a hemi

k0uch

Triumph Rocket 3. 165hp and 163tq, damn fun rides

Ass_feldspar

A lot of bikes try to look bad to the bone. This one does.

Phoenixbiker261

The new rocket 3. I’ve done demo days on it. Triumph Has put throttle restrictions on it because the sheer torque. I ripped the throttle and you can feel it being held back. But it still pulls like a frieght train.

ProfessionalWay2561

I flashed mine and it's fucking terrifying now. I ran out of balls passing 155mph and it was still pulling.

Atmosphere_Unlikely

The bike that says “Triumph” in huge letters on the tank and has a chrome “Rocket 3r” badge on the side?? No idea. Total mystery!

MrTheSaxMan

it just adds to the confusion that it says “Triumph Motorcycles” on the rear wheel. some mysteries weren’t meant to be solved.

Capone_BR

Rocket 3R

107Heaven

He it’s a triumph

Scary_Exam7735

Rocket 3 post 2018

GraftonBananaShooter

Bought an '06 R3 about a year ago. Doesn't turn worth shit, but it does have some get up and go!

V10_Viper

It’s a triumph rocket 3. I love these things and my college advisor has one

ConferenceKindly2120

My brother's roommate got one of these recently. Sounds badass. It's an absolute unit of a bike

gig_nuggins

That engine block👀

shveylien

Op will never guess what I found when I zoomed in on the image and google searched what I saw and motorcycle....

bvogel7475

Beautiful beast.

Dinofonzareli

Looks like a Triumph triple

thegamesender1

It's the bike I thought was going to be my first and last bike, but I changed my mind after joining some motorcycle subs. It's a beast, regardless. Engine of a car, weight of a bike.

peep_dat_peepo

That engine is bigger than many car's... 2.5L

Optimal_Risk_6411

🚀

Sufficient-Pain-1425

Rocket 3 largest triple engine in production

NotGreenRaptor

Damn! I didn't know the rear wheel of Rocket just follows the rest of the motorcycle.

Sir_Hurkederp

Triumph Rocket 3r, 2500cc inline 3

Bart-MS

A very dead one if it parks this way on the road any longer. All it needs is a distracted or disgruntled cager...

SeparateAd2314

That’s the one from cyberpunk 💀

yeebok

That is sex on wheels, a Rocket 3.

1ghxull

triumph rocket 3 bobber, my fav bike im tryna get when i hit 22. literally a beast

motophiliac

That is horrifyingly beautiful.

Infinite_Regret8341

Triumph Rocket 3. Claim to fame is a 2 to 2.5 LITER 3 cylinder engine, that produces depending on model year between 124 and 165 HP. So it's a flying car engine.

icrashcoolcars

Hyundai Santa Cruz. Really stoked to see car/truck combo vehicles coming back. I miss my Subaru Brat.

Kracus

I think this might be my next bike in 5 years or so.

TopBorn793

Nice kind of beast

Zornocology

Rocket 3, not to be confused with Rocket III. Two very different bikes with not very different names.

[deleted]

Be me: > just discover reddit > join reddit, join motorcycle sub > see this thread, discover this bike > immediately get on the google, find bike > see specs > cry in 2400cc this is it. this bike is the pinnacle of my existence. i've peaked.

nomoreparrot

Rocket 3. 2300cc monster

[deleted]

It's a noob bike

SomestrangerinMiami

Hmmmm. Let me read what’s written on the bike to you… Triumph Rocket 3… WOOOOOOOOOW Such work

Jordan51104

apparently you can’t read OP’s comment from 5 hours ago where he linked to it

cioda

Looks like a duel runner. Someone has to be as lame as me to go get reference.

theonePappabox

Triumph rocket 3. 2200cc.

Albarytu

Nah. 2500

theonePappabox

Well I was almost right, I’ll take that as a win for myself.

misterezekiel

Rocket 3r… says it in the photo.

Objective_Culture412

It says "Triumph" and "Rocket 3" right on it

eatstoothpicks

I have one of those. Rides like a sport bike - seriously - amazing handling. Grunts like a tractor - a really fast tractor (3s 0-60). Very comfortable.
