I've seen that movie like 3 times now and I still don't know if I like it even though I really like her and Jack Black. I think it casts a forgetfulness spell on me when it's over.
My dad was really excited about the movie for some reason, but he ended up being very underwhelmed. It made me sad because he's not someone that gets excited for things coming out. This was a once-in-a-blue-moon thing for him, and he was very disappointed. It just always sucks when that happens.
I feel that. Was very disappointed on behalf of my mother after taking her to see Dark Tower (she loves those books).
I felt that way for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and the Conan the Barbarian reboot with Jason Momoa (like him though but that movie was mostly dreck).
What's really disappointing about the movie is if you read the books they totally could have made it work with the premise.
It absolutely could have been the start to a new cycle.
Instead we got that thing.
I’m a grown adult, yet every time I am reminded of this film I’m taken back to the completely childish and asinine memes for “The House with a Cock in its Balls”, and I can’t stop laughing. It was so *stupid*, but it’s just perfect.
And the fourth Indiana Jones movie as a soviet agent, and the evil stepmother in Cinderella. Plus the short appearance in Hot Fuzz where her face is almost completely covered.
She really wanted to be a part Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. He told he the only part he had not cast was the Monkey. She said great, I'll be the monkey. She proceeds to play the part of a pretty significant character in the film not saying a word and making only monkey vocalizations.
The woman is a treasure.
I heard Cate Blanchett was in *Pinocchio* before seeing it but didn't know which part she played, I just assumed that she was cast as Tilda Swinton's sister. When I saw the credits at the end I couldn't stop laughing for like a minute.
She definitely doesn't seem young enough for Lilith, but I'm sure that's not remotely a problem. Especially considering the other things that seem wrong
Literally my experience. Just about every sapphic friend I have was adamant that she was super hot and could ruin their lives. I didn’t get it, I was just like “she’s got physical traits that people find attractive, but I don’t get all the fuss. She’s academically pretty.” Then they made her a murderous, angry goth and I lost my mind right along side them.

>This movie was in development hell for a long time.
That's a good thing, they took their time making sure everything was perfect for the release, right? *Right!?*
It is really that bad? I haven't seen it yet but the reviews are brutal so I'm really curious lol. The funny thing is it took so long to come out that Dakota Johnson has moved on to a new face.
It is, but it's bad in a beautiful way. Everything is baffling. I was rarely bored because each scene was, "How are they going to fuck this one up?"
There's no redeeming that movie. It's just a matter of how entertained are you by this dumpster fire?
Nah, man. Jon Hamm would be perfect for Handsome Jack. Did you see him play the psycho preacher in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Check it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkoZG84EHLM
I literally just found out this is a thing from this post. And got super stoked. Then read this comment. And am very disappointed….
I dont mind kevin hart. But I can’t see that as a good casting…..
Kevin Hart is almost literally the WORST possible choice for Roland.
Roland was always the "straight-man" of the group. Serious, stoic.
Hart is going to be screaming and crying and cracking moronic jokes constantly. Should have gotten someone like Donald Glover. Or Michael B Jordan. Or freakin Forest Whittaker, or gawddamn GLENN CLOSE, but NOT KEVIN HART.
But I'm not even planning on watching it anyway so I'm not actually that bothered, just think that the casting was stupid
Edit: Glen**n**
I looked through the cast list since that comment. And yeah……I think jack black could kill as claptrap. But that’s about it.
Everyone is old as fuck…..
I mean, I know that they want a celebrity voice, but it's just so weird to me to not cast the voice of Claptrap as Claptrap. It's like they are going out of their way to drive off fans of the game, and fans of the game would be the core audience!
Having said that, as celebrity voices go, I don't mind Jack Black as Claptrap. I hate just about all of the rest of the casting, but he's fine.
EDIT: Having seen the trailer, I don't even like Jack Black as Claptrap. The whole thing looks terrible.
I think if Kevin hart HAD to be in the movie, claptrap is certainly the best role for him. And would potentially be even better than jack black.
But jack black is amazing and I will never not root for him in a roll and never not look forward to what he does with it.
They're both too old. Honestly Johnathan Majors would be perfect except for his whole being an abusive asshole thing. He has the perfect look and is an imposing size.
EDIT: ok I saw someone say Terry Crews on another post about this movie and now I will accept nothing less. He either needs to be Roland or Torgue.
At least we’re prepared. I think borderlands 3’s story actually made me cry for waiting so long for a sequel to bd2 only to receive that.
Atleast the gameplay is fun
Borderlands 2 was so well written for what it was (a dumb looter shooter) and then tales from the borderlands followed up which was brilliant. So after all that setup we get borderlands 3 which was probably written in 10 minutes , had lame jokes and wasted the characters that were setup in tales . At least the gameplay was good but the story is beyond disappointing
I mean, I would have just cast the guy who does Claptrap as Claptrap and left Kevin Hart out of it entirely but what the fuck do I know
Edit: Eddings, not Foronda. And also: fuck Randy Pitchford
Any movie that is based on SK material *that he remains completely silent about* usually ends up being good. He said the director "remembered the face of his father." His father must have been one ugly son of a bitch.
For real, the writing and directing were just ass. The Man in Black / Randal Flagg is a great example; McConaughey should have killed it in that role, but somehow managed to be the blandest and least charismatic performance he's ever given.
He had no chance. Gearbox didn't even keep the original voice of Claptrap for the games, as he was a developer who did the voice for "free". Once he was no longer working there and wanted to be paid to do the voice, Pitchford said no out of spite.
He's been on like half the ads on my twitch streams. I'm already tired of the same old schtick. I'll be skipping the movie unless it somehow turns out fantastic.
Man I feel so bad for actors who get typecast. Must be difficult to always be seen as the funny man ya know? Like imagine being his bank teller. He’s depositing million dollar checks and you’re just supposed to take him seriously?
It's amazing that an outtake from a 23 year old movie is so quotable to this day. I was just talking about this line and the "we would love to see that, wouldn't we love to see that Jackie?" And Don cheadle goes "his name is Lee God damn it! "
Jesus, I had no idea about some of the production issues with this and just read up on it. Craig Mazin removing his name completely from it is a huge yikes. That does not bode well.
I mean let's get real, the games rely on a brand of humor that is very much no longer in vogue. BL3 did not have good writing.
Hearing about the production issues and delays, this movie would have made a lot more sense if it was released a long time ago.
The humor from BL2 and Tales from the Borderlands 100% holds up.
I'm just not sure live action can fit. How do you make "Shoot me in the face! In the faaaace!" Funny in live action, it's more over the top than Deadpool by a good margin.
BL2 had both modern and well established references and jokes. The meme jokes definitely don't hold up for people who weren't "there" for it. They still paid homage to old movies and entertainment which almost everyone will come across something they recognize. I was reluctant to pick up 3 and didn't get very far before putting it down. BL1 is still my favorite for a solo playthrough.
Borderlands 1's writing was practically non-existent beyond character design. It's been pretty obvious that Borderland's story only ever worked when Anthony Burch was involved, and considering he's been long gone from the franchise I think expecting good story is pretty hopeful.
You're missing some key details of this shitshow. Eli Roth (the film's director) did not participate in those reshoots. The film's writer also asked for his name to be removed from the credits
Honestly nothing about this movie makes sense. It's just so weird. I guess Eli Roth wanted to make it at any cost and now we're stuck with pure shit and no one will ever try again.
So really just don't watch it and pretend there never was an adaptation.
This makes me think: which movie reshot by another director was a success? Rogue One had reshoots by Tony Gilroy but Gareth Edwards remained involved during them.
Movie is such an anomaly despite all of that. Love it but I can't find anything I like in any of Edwards' other work.
Tony Gilroy is probably someone I should respect more. He writes Andor, too. And his filmography is pretty solid albeit a lot of thrillers and spy movies. That dude wrote Devil's Advocate.
Maybe there's something to being a good writer with some directing skills and they should be giving him the camera more.
Randy Pitchford is a self-absorbed clown who cares more about his amateur magic career than making quality products anymore.
I don't even need to see the video to know it's cringy as fuck.
This is a different incident but that motherfucker spent around ***half an hour*** purposefully delaying the reveal of Borderlands 3 with *magic tricks*.
The reveal was streamed live and had a live audience involved as well.
Roland absolutely was the straight man and also a no guff competent operator. Neither of those come to mind when I think of Kevin Hart but I'm willing to be surprised. If it were me I would have cast Mike Colter.
In the later games? Yes. But he wasn't originally like that. Some Roland quotes from the first game:
>Woo! Time to get up in this!
>
>Wastin' daylight, foo.
>
>Mowin' 'em down, haha!
>
>Critical biatch!
>
>I'm issuing you a challenge, chump!
>
>Woo! Let's make like lightning y'all!
>
>Mess with the bull, you gonna get the horns.
Becoming more serious fits his character arc, but that's not how he started.
I appreciate a more hardcore fan like yourself because everyone who loves Borderlands loves Borderlands 2. I'm not hating, but Borderlands 1 has so much amazing shit in it and it's made even better by how they evolved it all in 2.
Eli Roth and Tim Miller (reshoots) directed and its out August 9
>Borderlands will see Lilith and co. battle alien monsters and bandits as they traverse Pandora in search of the missing daughter of Atlas. “The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other”

Brick and Mordecai aren't in the movie.
Can't believe they're using a version of "the real treasure was the friends we made along the way" in the tagline. Especially when the friends are Claptrap, Tiny Tina, and Kevin Hart
Like holy shit. I don't LIKE Kevin Hart but he can fulfill a role.
That role is *not* Roland lol. Wasn't Roland kinda the "straight man" of the whole Borderlands crew? I don't really remember Roland sticking out for a personality.
In The Pre-Sequel Jack literally introduces Roland as “the guy allergic to smiling”. So yes, his straight man schtick is a very established in-universe thing. The only time he loosens up are the snippets of convo he has with Tina.
God you just know there'll be some sort of a sequel tease hinting at Jack, shit is irresistible to execs nowadays. The movie could be the biggest steaming pile of skag vomit with no hope in hell of a continuation and they'd still give someone a Nick Fury moment in an attempt to drum up some extra media buzz
Why is there no Mordecai? Brick? Why is it set up that Lilith is the leader? No one was leading them. You were vault hunters. Solo or grouped up. How do you Omit two main characters from the games lol
Not gonna lie, the jumanji cast would have actually have worked.
Karen Gillan as Lilith
Kevin Hart as Roland
Nick Jonas as Mordecai
The Rock as Brick
Jack Black as Claptrap
I'm not very well versed in the lore and story of Borderlands overall, so keep that in mind when I say this: I cannot believe that Mr. Torgue is not identified in this casting list! So I just have one question: EXPLOSIONS?!
Looks like Gearbox is actually involved in a production capacity and not just a licensing one, and I can imagine the beef Gearbox has with that VO extending to this.
I assume you know about this, since you said "actually pay him this time", but for anyone who doesn't, check this out. If it helps pique your interest, there's eventuality mentions of Gabe Newell, Randy Pitchford leaving possibly underage porn at Medieval Times, and more! :
The original Claptrap voice actor, David Endings, was (allegedly) literally assaulted by Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox, and fired when he asked to actually be paid at least base industry standard for doing the voice work for Claptrap from B1 through B2 VR (so, the first 4 games).
Eddings was actually VP of Gearbox business development, and voiced Claptrap as an 'extra'. He claims he was never fairly compensated for his voice work, and that he was physically assaulted by CEO Pitchford and after asking for appropriate pay.
Granted, Randy Pitchford claims Eddings is lying. However, I'd like to note that Pitchford himself is well known for lying and being skeezy.
Example of Randy Pitchford lying: He has claimed on multiple occasions that he "won" the right to name his company Gearbox from Gabe Newell (owner of Valve) at the end of an epic poker tournament, in which he and Newell were the last two standing. However, everyone who was at that event (charity casino boat event), including Newell, says that did not happen.
Example of Pitchford being creepy: He was at a Medieval Times restaurant, and accidentally left behind a USB drive. Someone looked at it (ostensibly to figure out who it belonged to) and it had a porn video of a *very* young looking teen girl masturbating. Pitchford claimed he had no interest in it as porn, but rather was convinced the girl's 'squirting' had to be a 'magic trick', and as a magician himself, he wanted to figure out how she'd done that trick. Just...sure, Randy.
The weird thing is, outside of Hart, all the casting seems pretty damn good... Even Jamie-Lee as Tanis will be a good performance, age not withstanding.
I still don't understand why they didn't just go with cell-shaded animation. That would have been great. The art style is such a big part of Borderlands.
I would have been really curious to see a sort of cell-shaded rotoscoping over the live-action? Or maybe simply that "cell-shading" make-up/clothing treatment some people do for cosplays, just anything really to give us a unique look and experience.
Like to try and adapt the sort of visual philosophy behind Sin City or 300 - and I don't mean to do the same visual treatments those two had, but simply this mentality of trying a new visual approach in an attempt to try and mimic the original content, giving the viewers a new type of cinematic experience as a result.
It's like we've gone full circle. Borderlands originally stole the cel-shaded art style from a short film called [Codehunters](http://vimeo.com/7432584).
Randy asked Ben Hibon, the creator of Codehunters, to help the team mimic his art style. Before they reached an agreement, Randy just went ahead and stole the guy's art style whole cloth behind his back, without asking permission. He even copied most of the intro sequence with the Vault Hunters waking up on a bus driving through the desert.
This was a very late-stage change to the game, too. Original screenshots of Borderlands were very bland and lacked the iconic cel-shading and cartoony designs that it's known for today.
Yeah, honestly, I don't hate how it looks. I'm still expecting the movie to be shit, but I have no particular complaints about these images at all, really.
Don't care how bad it is, just want a Face McShooty appearance to be satisfied.
Other than that this is a very bad idea lol I don't see Borderlands translating well at all into a movie.
How in the world did Cate Blanchett end up in this thing?
I think she worked with Eli Roth before on **The House with a Clock in Its Walls** (2018)
I grew up on the book and was so disappointed by that movie. Broke my heart.
I’m a grown adult, yet every time I am reminded of this film I’m taken back to the completely childish and asinine memes for “The House with a Cock in its Balls”, and I can’t stop laughing. It was so *stupid*, but it’s just perfect.
> The House with a Cock in its Balls How I never heard this before is astounding! It's hilariously immature and I love it.
She was a blast chewing up the scenery as Hella in Thor: Ragnorok. Similar energy could work here.
I'd watch her in anything
I would watch her and Benefit Cumberbumble read the dictionary to read other.
She just seems like someone who genuinely *enjoys* acting
I heard Cate Blanchett was in *Pinocchio* before seeing it but didn't know which part she played, I just assumed that she was cast as Tilda Swinton's sister. When I saw the credits at the end I couldn't stop laughing for like a minute.
She definitely doesn't seem young enough for Lilith, but I'm sure that's not remotely a problem. Especially considering the other things that seem wrong
Acting like Cate Blanchett even ages pffft
54 and still a total babe
Hot goth Blanchett in Ragnarok was something none of us deserved, but everyone needed imo.
I always understood that she was pretty, but I didn’t realize she was smoking hot.
Idk but I think she gets hotter every time I see her. She’s been my celebrity crush for about 2 decades and counting.
She def bringing that Thor Ragnarok hotness to this movie.
I would watch Hela strut around like her hips are on a hinge, chewing the scenery and smirking for an ungodly number of hours
The universe's perfect hip-to-waist ratio. My jaw dropped.
Still have the hots for her as flirty Katharine Hepburn.
She really does just keep getting hotter
Fat paycheck
[удалено]
I will watch because of her. She’s incredible in everything
This must have been completed for years at this point. Why the huge delay on releasing it.

>This movie was in development hell for a long time. That's a good thing, they took their time making sure everything was perfect for the release, right? *Right!?*
They're being so loyal to being a video game movie, they're even adapting production methods.
They had to do a bunch of reshoots years after it was finished
Probably because it's bad and they saved it for a year they needed a tax write-off.
with this and Madame Web... the Razzies are gonna be LIT this year.
Madame Web is gonna sweep the Razzies
It is really that bad? I haven't seen it yet but the reviews are brutal so I'm really curious lol. The funny thing is it took so long to come out that Dakota Johnson has moved on to a new face.

I can't wait to eventually be utterly disappointed by this so hard.
…so Hart
Man I almost forgot Kevin Hart is supposed to be Roland :(
"Hey guys, it's me Roland. Let's kill Handsome Jack and all go out for `Draft Kings`"
I Hope Jack is handsome
Ryan Reynolds could have brought the smug assholeness to HJ
Nah, man. Jon Hamm would be perfect for Handsome Jack. Did you see him play the psycho preacher in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Check it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkoZG84EHLM
He's also good playing a psycho cult leader in Fargo...

He’s gonna turn Roland into a goofball because Hart just plays himself in movies, just like Dwayne.
I told my husband even Terry Crews or even ICE CUBE would have been a better fit...
Roland is over six feet tall and they cast 5'2 Hart to play him, this is my main gripe.
Idris Elba would be a perfect Roland.
Same. Thanks, Reddit. You've crushed my hopes in record time.
> But I can’t see that as a good casting….. Everyone is old as fuck.
I looked through the cast list since that comment. And yeah……I think jack black could kill as claptrap. But that’s about it. Everyone is old as fuck…..
I mean, I know that they want a celebrity voice, but it's just so weird to me to not cast the voice of Claptrap as Claptrap. EDIT: Having seen the trailer, I don't even like Jack Black as Claptrap. The whole thing looks terrible.
> fans of the game would be the core audience! Fans of the game are the *only* audience. This thing is going to bomb hard.
Kevin Hart honestly could fit more as Claptrap than Jack Black if I’m being honest…
I think if Kevin hart HAD to be in the movie, claptrap is certainly the best role for him. And would potentially be even better than jack black. But jack black is amazing and I will never not root for him in a roll and never not look forward to what he does with it.
The role Lance Reddick was born to play. RIP. Kevin Hart is a fine stand-in for that kind of leadership and stoisicm /s
Spelled Idris Elba super weird there.
They spelled " anybody except Kevin Hart" weird.
Danny DeVito would've been a better Roland
Michael Cera would've been a better Roland
Whereas Hart would probably be decent as the voice of Claptrap.
Kevin Hart as...... Kevin Hart Fuck this movie is gonna be dogshit
Honestly, what is the POINT of trying to render character designs like this in live action? I just can't wrap my head around it.
The point is a hopeful $100-$300 million :)
That is so incredibly cynical. And correct!
I honestly didn't think this movie was ever going to see the light of day.
New Tales from the Borderlands is awful too, I don't know what that writing room is doing but maybe they should go on strike again
You kind of answered your own question. BL2 was written by one guy -- Anthony Burch. BL3 and everything after was written by committee.
Too many cooks will indeed spoil the broth
Oh right, poor Rhys was dumbed down to a punchline, and oof! Why did they turn Vaughn into...that?
Can't wait for Kevin Hart to act the same way he does in every fucking movie.
I would have cast him as Claptrap
I mean, I would have just cast the guy who does Claptrap as Claptrap and left Kevin Hart out of it entirely but what the fuck do I know Edit: Eddings, not Foronda. And also: fuck Randy Pitchford
Idris Elba as Roland would have been a far better casting. He already has a big foot in the gaming industry.
Idris got cast as the wrong Roland
His agent forgot the face of his father
Any movie that is based on SK material *that he remains completely silent about* usually ends up being good. He said the director "remembered the face of his father." His father must have been one ugly son of a bitch.
Ooof, goddamn. I felt that.
He wasn't the problem with that movie lol

Jack Black is Claptrap in this. Probably the only casting I don't hate.
I like Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, because I like Jamie Lee Curtis and she can be kooky if she wants to - and she likes video games.
Hope Kevin Hart says, 'Dayum, really should have used a better shield, man.' after getting shot.
"Dayum, he ain't gonna be in Borderlands 2 ~~Rush Hour 3~~"
It's amazing that an outtake from a 23 year old movie is so quotable to this day. I was just talking about this line and the "we would love to see that, wouldn't we love to see that Jackie?" And Don cheadle goes "his name is Lee God damn it! "
I still like Rush Hour 1's, "Show me your ass." "Show me your ass? Yall some gay ass cops."
GEFILTE FISH
So she out there working at El poco loco
Wrong black man lol
This is going to be absolutely terrible. It’s been finished for like 3 years. And they did reshoots 2 years after the film was initially finished.

You're missing some key details of this shitshow. Eli Roth (the film's director) did not participate in those reshoots. The film's writer also asked for his name to be removed from the credits
He didn’t do the reshoots because he was working on the film Thanksgiving. It was a pet project he had wanted to make for a long time
Also it has some of the worst casting I’ve ever seen in a big adaptation of something; like literally every character feels so weirdly miscast
Honestly nothing about this movie makes sense. It's just so weird. I guess Eli Roth wanted to make it at any cost and now we're stuck with pure shit and no one will ever try again. So really just don't watch it and pretend there never was an adaptation.

I mean have you seen the videos of the main guy from Gearbox on set with the actors... Big yikes.
Randy Pitchford is a self-absorbed clown who cares more about his amateur magic career than making quality products anymore. I don't even need to see the video to know it's cringy as fuck.
Please say you have a link
This is a different incident but that motherfucker spent around ***half an hour*** purposefully delaying the reveal of Borderlands 3 with *magic tricks*. The reveal was streamed live and had a live audience involved as well.
And for no reason too. The formula is already there. It's basically a mad max film.
Why isn’t anyone saying anything about the first photo looking like Holes?
FINALLY. Was scrolling and scrolling like "Am I really going to have to point this out first? We are getting old man.
THANK YOU!!!
i thought the screenshot was from a holes sequel with jamie lee Curtis. then i saw what it was and sighed
WELL THATS TOO DAMN BAD
YOU KEEP DIGGIN’!!
Well, excuuuse me!
I saw Holes trending on Twitter today and didn't think too much about it, now I can kinda guess why lmao.
“Dig it-oh-oh-oh, dig it” played in my head the moment I saw it
That was my first thought as well, I had to search for your comment.
Kevin Heart is Roland..........what
I don't remember much, but wasn't Roland kind of a the straight man
Roland absolutely was the straight man and also a no guff competent operator. Neither of those come to mind when I think of Kevin Hart but I'm willing to be surprised. If it were me I would have cast Mike Colter.
I also distinctly remember Roland being tall...
In the later games? Yes. But he wasn't originally like that. Some Roland quotes from the first game: >Woo!
Borderlands 1 is my favorite. 2 has tons more quality of life upgrades but the character of the first is unreal. Love 2! But 1 is my favorite
At least it's not the Rock
Ironically, this is the *one* time that I would have take him. I think he actually would have been a decent roland
Saying “at least it’s not the Rock” is the weirdest take when the Rock would be 100000x more fitting for this role than Hart.
Solid Point. Dude Sterling K Brown would be perfect for Roland not Kevin.....
It's going to be dogshit isn't it? 😔
You wish it was dog quality, probably goose level.
Eli Roth and Tim Miller (reshoots) directed and its out August 9 >Borderlands will see Lilith and co. battle alien monsters and bandits as they traverse Pandora in search of the missing daughter of Atlas. “The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other” Full Cast: * Cate Blanchett as Lilith * Kevin Hart as Roland * Jack Black as Claptrap * Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Patricia Tannis * Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina * Florian Munteanu as Krieg * Édgar Ramírez as Atlas * Bobby Lee as Larry * Olivier Richters as Krom * Janina Gavankar as Commander Knoxx * Gina Gershon as Mad Moxxi * Cheyenne Jackson as Jakobs * Charles Babalola as Hammerlock * Benjamin Byron Davis as Marcus * Steven Boyer as Scooter * Ryann Redmond as Ellie Brick and Mordecai aren't in the movie.
If it said “money” instead of each other I’d like it more. Seems like it’d ring truer to the vault want
Bold move to hold back Handsome Jack for the sequel
God you just know there'll be some sort of a sequel tease hinting at Jack, shit is irresistible to execs nowadays. The movie could be the biggest steaming pile of skag vomit with no hope in hell of a continuation and they'd still give someone a Nick Fury moment in an attempt to drum up some extra media buzz
It better be Jack eating pretzels and complaining how dry they are
Nah it’ll 100% be a slow fade out to a room with nothing but a diamond horse
Sequel… I doubt that will happen
That's why it's bold
Oh my. Gina Gershon, huh? (Fans face)
Batista as Brick and David Dastmalchian as Mordecai would have been the easiest casting decisions ever. Why leave them out?
Or how about an over-the-top Bruce Campbell as Handsome Jack?
Why is there no Mordecai? Brick? Why is it set up that Lilith is the leader? No one was leading them. You were vault hunters. Solo or grouped up. How do you Omit two main characters from the games lol
Cuz she siren and has better CGI powers than the other characters
But brick punching things could provide so much humor
I’m actually surprised they didn’t cast the rock and have a Jumanji reunion
Not gonna lie, the jumanji cast would have actually have worked. Karen Gillan as Lilith Kevin Hart as Roland Nick Jonas as Mordecai The Rock as Brick Jack Black as Claptrap
They’re saving that for Dave Bautista to walk out in an end credits scene
According to the leaks they just put the entire series in a blender essentially. The story is all over the place
My boi Mordecai done dirty
> Brick and Mordecai aren't in the movie. Well then what the fuck are we doing here? Putting in hammerlock but not brick. What the heck.
I'm not very well versed in the lore and story of Borderlands overall, so keep that in mind when I say this: I cannot believe that Mr. Torgue is not identified in this casting list! So I just have one question: EXPLOSIONS?!
I don't know how I feel about Jack Black as claptrap. Why not the original voice actor (actually pay him this time)
Looks like Gearbox is actually involved in a production capacity and not just a licensing one, and I can imagine the beef Gearbox has with that VO extending to this.
I assume you know about this, since you said "actually pay him this time", but for anyone who doesn't, check this out. If it helps pique your interest, there's eventuality mentions of Gabe Newell, Randy Pitchford leaving possibly underage porn at Medieval Times, and more! : The original Claptrap voice actor, David Endings, was (allegedly) literally assaulted by Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox, and fired when he asked to actually be paid at least base industry standard for doing the voice work for Claptrap from B1 through B2 VR (so, the first 4 games).
Excited for Jack Black. And also interested to see how Ryann plays Ellie. Though I do think they should have gotten someone bigger personally.
The weird thing is, outside of Hart, all the casting seems pretty damn good... Even Jamie-Lee as Tanis will be a good performance, age not withstanding.
The lava can't rise fast enough
Just shoot me in the face.
They just look like a bunch of cosplayers based on how clean they all are.
Lowest effort costumes foreshadowing the film quality
Lydia Tar after the lawsuit.
Shortest Roland ever.
Something tells me they aren’t going to go full anarchic with this like they should.
Kevin Hart should have been the voice of claptrap
Claptrap should have been the voice of claptrap It's an iconic voice but they didn't bring the voice actor back, instead preferring a "real actor"
didnt they change the voice actor before the third game?
Randy didn't want to pay him.
Didn't he also accuse Randy of assault?
Yup. IIRC, the assault happened when he asked to be paid.
Good lord, I just assumed he was!
Yeah, that could have been interesting. Something like "A Scanner Darkly" but with the Borderlands style.
I remember Bobby lee said he had a role in a upcoming Borderlands movie. That was like 4 years ago
looks way closer to the game than i thought it would
Yeah, honestly, I don't hate how it looks. I'm still expecting the movie to be shit, but I have no particular complaints about these images at all, really.
Don't care how bad it is, just want a Face McShooty appearance to be satisfied. Other than that this is a very bad idea lol I don't see Borderlands translating well at all into a movie.
Also Crazy Earl. Whatch you want
Lol, KH as Roland. Gonna be hard to film all his scenes on stilts
Hart is a joke and he ruins everything he's involved in
Tiny Tina would've been perfect for Kristen Schaal. She's like the living embodiment.
Better, cast Ashly Burch, her voice actor from the game. She’s great in Mythic Quest.
