77 Blackout:
>In 1977, five rogue police officers formulate a plan to rob three criminal strongholds – the Hong Kong Triads, the Italian Mafia, and the Harlem Mob – all in one night. When a blackout sweeps the city the night of the robbery, the crew is forced to navigate a hellish landscape as years of being overworked and underpaid forces each of them to confront their own morality.
>five rogue police officers formulate a plan to rob three criminal strongholds – the Hong Kong Triads, the Italian Mafia, and the Harlem Mob – all in one night.
Well, that's Ocean's Five plotline they got there.
God, Elliott Gould was so fucking perfect in that role. I love that they got away with two, perfectly used F-bombs and retained its PG-13 rating.
"But what am I saying? You guys are pros, the best. I'm sure you can make it out of the casino, of course, lest we forget: once you get out the front door, you're still in the middle of the fucking desert!"

"Amazing?"
"Where the ***fuck*** you been?"

Yen barely speaking any English but half the team understanding his (presumably) Mandarin and answering *in* English with him understanding always gets me.
It does, but at the same time, why the hell would you knock over all the gangs instead of just one three times in a night? Seems impractical to piss everybody off at the same time.
Allegedly and idk how he's a groomer when every female was 18 or older to boot. It's kinda weird how you automatically label somebody when there's no proof of any wrongdoing.
It's the same stuff that's already been said. No proof of any wrongdoing, just a bunch of hearsay. I literally said give me something else. It's a bunch of click bait articles recycling unsubstantiated claims, and trying capitalize on this news. They want someone canceled when there's no proof. Sorry, but it's ridiculous.
Edit: and Vogue? Really, that's where we're getting our news now for sexual misconduct. I've followed this story since broke like 2 years ago. The accusations are he pursued younger females than himself on set. Not underage, nor any rape accusations. They felt uncomfortable by his advances and by his position of power being a director or producer.
People are lazy and only read the click bait headlines, but I'm not okay with canceling someone over accusations like that, with no proof except the testimony of failed actresses. Sorry, maybe I'm an asshole but I need more proof
Jesus christ. No, the phrase 'in vogue' means 'in fashion'. They are agreeing with you and saying it is currently fashionable to throw around accusations without evidence.
See, this is where the whole "Oh since when is EVERY WOMAN A VICTIM" side of an argument just looks bad - if you cant even properly parse a commonly used idiom like "in vogue" against a news item appearing in the magazine Vogue (and if you didnt get the clue yet, we're all pointing out that it's the former, not the latter), how the fuck am I supposed to take you seriously when you're mewling about whether or not a dude's alleged sleaze rises to the occasion of your own moral standards? "Ohhhhhh the world is so unair to the common man!" Nah, we still run the joint, the point is that the world has a LOT less tolerance for traditional abuses of power wich are not alleged and aere pretty well fuckin documented over *at least* the last 2000 years. If you want to crab about it, go find one of MANY available covens of weeping incels, they'll be happy to commiserate. The rest of society is just going to have to evolve without you, sorry chump.

Funny how both are in projects that are stuck in post production/ pre production hell. Hardy’s “Havoc” wrapped filming back in 2021, then had to do additional reshoots with still no release date in sight and Ali’s Blade was announced 5 years ago! and filming still hasn’t even started.
Gareth Evans was on Empire podcast in like November 2023 and he said that additional photography hadn't even happened yet! He said it was due to the writers and actors strike but it's like.... the writers struck in like April 2023? How in the year and a half after the movie finished shooting did you not write the additional scenes? Makes no sense
I've kind of always got that vibe from him. I know people think he's like the coolest guy in the world and generally seem to approve his prickly nature but something about the way his co-workers talk about working with him on set just makes it seem like reading between the lines they find him to be a bit of a dick.
No but what he said in the podcast was that tom was heavily involved as a producer so the writers strike and then the actors strike effected it doubly so since Tom couldn't be involved
Sure, but that doesn't mean the rest isn't still happening behind closed doors. Evans has been around long enough to know that any blame shifting to Hardy (or really anyone else for that matter) prior to release is never going to help anything.
Loved this movie. Amazing that a guy driving in a car and talking on the phone for an hour and a half can hold your interest, but it works. It had more palpable tension and drama than most Marvel movies.
You're doing *more* advertising for BMW in these comments than that movie could've done by pretending you're one of the special people who always spots product placements.
You’ve used literally and legit incorrectly. “LaNgUaGe EvOLvEs bRo” be damned, you just showed your aptitude for linguistics. (Or more specifically, your lack thereof)
*hits trap door button*
It’s literally an advertisement for BMW. Watch the credits. I wasn’t joking lol. You saw the film right? It was literally all about their voice calling. It’s literally just an advertisement for BMW cars.
I'm not defending his behavior, he's clearly a Creep loser who deserved to be called out, but is it grooming if all the accusers were 18 years and older?
The definition of grooming that I've seen on WebMD says "it's when a sexual predator builds a relationship with a child or adult to abuse and exploit them. They build trust but use it to control, isolate, and abuse their victims emotionally, physically, and sexually." Reading this guy's DMs and texts to one of the girls and the things he's said to her via her IG stories was very telling.
He was sleeping with one and had some cringe encounters with the sisters actresses. It's a crime according to the today's standards. Power play, hierarchy and all that.
> It's a crime according to the today's standards.
I remember reading a *bunch* of takes like that when the Weinstein snowball started turning into an avalanche, along with stupid phrases like "me-too jail".
looks like there's more to it

"whom he met when she was 18" :)
"Fukunaga asked about their willingness to participate in a threesome, and, per their post, said that “incest is fine ‘if all parties are okay with it.'”"
Fukunaga was accused of firing “True Detective” actress Raeden Greer for refusing to be topless in a scene that was not in the original script.
most Hollywood creeps do, every now and then someone takes the fall just so Hollywood can pretend they care about stuff when in reality they're still enabling groomers like Fukunaga and even worse people
None were underage. How does stupid shit like this get upvoted. This clown is all over this page spouting the comment with their obvious agenda of being a virtue signaling ass.
I hope you never get jury duty. You're the kinda person that puts innocent people behind bars for some social justice agenda.
Edit: the only thing that might stick is him being an asshole. The power dynamic thing is iffy at best. Fukanaga sounds like a playboy more than anything and he pissed a lot of women off. I'll gladly eat my words if he's ever convicted or anything remotely comes out other then upset actors complaining
He's not a criminal per se, but reading the 2022 Vulture article right now and Fukunaga seems to fit the big-named Hollywood creep who likes em' real young like Russell Simmons, Brett Ratner, Woody Allen, Kevin Spacey and Bryan Singer. A Hollywood tradition, I suppose.
The premise sounds very exciting. Will be keen to see who gets cast as the other main cop roles. Potential for a great ensemble. Hope this actually gets made and isn't just a Cannes announcement that goes nowhere.
With Charles Roven producing, this actually feels like it'll get made. Hopefully a good studio picks it up
Won't believe this project will be finished until the cameras start rolling. Fukunaga now spends time in Ukraine or around. He recently posted some volunteer related content on his IG. He was absent from any promotion of Master of the Air TV show. He was one of the main showrunners.
And Apple fully removed him from any promo for Masters of the Air, and dropped another series that they were working on with him entirely.
This is the first time he's actually been hired for anything since the allegations were made.
Kinda gone off Tom Hardy as an actor, almost every role he does now he just overacts, like he's doing an awful impression of the character he's playing.

Reminds me of Triple 9 (2016).
Damn it came out that long ago?
Nah, 2016 was just... 8 years ago!?
I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be that long ago when it doesn't feel like it.
Those are Terry Benedict's mobs... What do you have against Terry Benedict?
Because he’ll kill you. And THEN he’ll go to work on you.
God, Elliott Gould was so fucking perfect in that role. I love that they got away with two, perfectly used F-bombs and retained its PG-13 rating. "But what am I saying? You guys are pros, the best. YOURE STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKIN' BRONX!
Reminds me much more of The warriors
Ocean’s 4400
The premise is cool, sounds like it could have been made in the 1970s by Lumet or Schrader.
Damn that sounds awesome
I was sold when I saw Ali, Hardy, and Fukunaga were attached, but now with that premise… I just really hope the cinema gods let this one happen
AND NYC setting in the 70s. Like. Its hitting all the marks for me in theory atleast
It's gonna be a long, hot and very dark night.
From the director of True Detective. I’m fucking in.
It does, but at the same time, why the hell would you knock over all the gangs instead of just one three times in a night? Seems impractical to piss everybody off at the same time.
Cause others will be careful after you rob one of them.
Assault On Ocean's 5
5 Oceans 5 Blackout
This sounds pretty awesome, I’m in 😎
This sounds awesome. Those are two of my favourite actors right there.
I feel like this is going to take a lot of influence from James Ellroy and William Friedkin and I’m very stoked about it.
Holy shit this is GAS
Reminder that Cary Fukunaga is a groomer that has used his influences to abuse dozens of women.
Allegedly and idk how he's a groomer when every female was 18 or older to boot. It's kinda weird how you automatically label somebody when there's no proof of any wrongdoing.
It’s in vogue right now
It's the same stuff that's already been said. No proof of any wrongdoing, just a bunch of hearsay. I literally said give me something else. "in vogue" is a phrase
Apparently it's a ground breaking news source these days and not some irrelevant fashion magazine going the way of Sports Illustrated
Jesus christ. No, the phrase 'in vogue' means 'in fashion'. They are agreeing with you and saying it is currently fashionable to throw around accusations without evidence.
Oh jesus, I feel for you. _If something is in vogue, it is very popular and fashionable._ in vogue not in Vogue
The magazine is named after the phrase, not the other way around.
This is what happens when critical thinking skills are thrown by the wayside inb4 wayside is a ground breaking news source
Irony so thick I thought I was having another cocaine-induced nosebleed.
You need to touch some grass
You need to read a dictionary.
building a relationship with someone young so you'll start dating them once they're 18 is the definition of a groomer
no it's not.
It'll be hard for you to find a film that doesn't have a Hollywood scumbag
Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t call them out, especially if they’re an abuser
Damn i feel completely oblivious to have not heard anything about this. Any good readings on this you suggest?

Thanks
Yeah but True Detective!!
Source?
Based.
With this talent. This could be a great movie
Funny how both are in projects that are stuck in post production/ pre production hell. Hardy’s “Havoc” wrapped filming back in 2021, then had to do additional reshoots with still no release date in sight and Ali’s Blade was announced 5 years ago! and filming still hasn’t even started.
I have accepted I will never see Ali as Blade
Right after we get Tatum as Gambit.
Honestly could see that as a 30 second joke in Deadpool 3
Oh yeah, honestly I wouldn't be at all surprised.
That sounds exactly like something Tatum would show up for "Playing cards that explode a bit, how is that even a power???" "I- thought it was cool."
Its heavily rumored to be- he's expected to play the role.
"Hey, Logan, is that Channing Tatum as Gambit? More like Channing Tate-yum, am I right?" "God, I fucking hate you."
Been bummed about Havoc I really like Gareth Evan’s as a filmmaker, hope he can pull this one off.
Right? After 3 years I stopped searching up news for it, been absolute silence
His last Netflix movie was similar.
I just want Taboo season 2 😭
Gareth Evans was on Empire podcast in like November 2023 and he said that additional photography hadn't even happened yet! He said it was due to the writers and actors strike but it's like.... the writers struck in like April 2023? How in the year and a half after the movie finished shooting did you not write the additional scenes? Makes no sense
No clue to the veracity of this but it's rumored Hardy refuses to return for reshoots
Lots of rumours swirling about hardy being hard to work with. Seems he's following the Arron Eckhart school of success with a dash more alcoholism.
I've kind of always got that vibe from him. I know people think he's like the coolest guy in the world and generally seem to approve his prickly nature but something about the way his co-workers talk about working with him on set just makes it seem like reading between the lines they find him to be a bit of a dick.
Hmm Gareth didn't make it sound like that on the podcast episode where he talked about it
Throwing the lead under the bus before the movie comes out will never be a good idea
Bikeriders for Hardy has bounced around a bit too - pumped its finally coming though
And now they chose to work with a director who's a groomer that has abused several women
People pretend to care.
By the time they get to blade, Ali’s gonna be the age at which Wesley Snipes was when the MCU made the announcement.
Anything with Tom Hardy in it has my attention
I'm still wishing for Taboo season 2
Last I heard they were hopeful to start shooting last quarter of this year!
Idk man if i get another weird american accent from tom he's officially lost me.
Locke?
Loved this movie. Amazing that a guy driving in a car and talking on the phone for an hour and a half can hold your interest, but it works. It had more palpable tension and drama than most Marvel movies.
Great movie. Acting masterclass from tom hardy.
Are you not going to appreciate the main character actor that was the BMW voice application for their cars… BMW was the main actor.
You're doing *more* advertising for BMW in these comments than that movie could've done by pretending you're one of the special people who always spots product placements.
It’s not product placement lol. The whole movie was a BMW ad.
Hahaha. Sorry. Forgot to mention the main lead.
I wouldn’t recommend this movie unless you are solid. Which you are. You are.
It’s legit just an ad for BMW.
Lol. Ok, guy.
That is literally what it is.
You’ve used literally and legit incorrectly. “LaNgUaGe EvOLvEs bRo” be damned, you just showed your aptitude for linguistics. (Or more specifically, your lack thereof) *hits trap door button*
It’s literally an advertisement for BMW. Watch the credits. I wasn’t joking lol. You saw the film right? It was literally all about their voice calling. It’s literally just an advertisement for BMW cars.
Well i hate BMW's and still liked the movie.
Not Venom
Looks like Fukunaga managed to escape the me-too jail.
Wasn’t he just sleeping with actresses/extras? Not exactly ethical but not a sex crime either.
Not exactly. By all accounts it was non-consensual grooming
I'm not defending his behavior, he's clearly a Creep loser who deserved to be called out, but is it grooming if all the accusers were 18 years and older?

“Cringe encounters” lmao…interesting way to phrase it

“Young women” in this case being one 23 year old woman
"whom he met when she was 18" :) "Fukunaga asked about their willingness to participate in a threesome, and, per their post, said that “incest is fine ‘if all parties are okay with it.'”" Fukunaga was accused of firing “True Detective” actress Raeden Greer for refusing to be topless in a scene that was not in the original script.

Holy shit, why do you guys just straight up lie?
Reminder that Cary Fukunaga is a groomer that has used his influences to abuse dozens of women.
Yea but he makes decent movies
Honestly... His Jane Eyre adaptation was sooo disappointing.
Really want to see Havoc. No trailer or nothing. Timothy Olyphant in a Gareth Evans move.
That's nice but wtf happened to Havoc?
Filming officially wrapped in Oct 2021 according to some less than trustworthy looking source on Wikipedia.
I love all of that title, I can't wait.
Can’t go wrong with these two titans
I see Tom Hardy, I’m seated
Damn, Ali really doesn’t want to do Blade, does he.
great to see these guys in leading roles in what seems like a real good plot
This will be awesome
I have a good feeling about this. Two True Detective alumni working on this!
Pretty great actors together, hope they have chemistry
What happened to Blade?!?
Multitasking
This is gonna be so good
Hell yeah. This sounds great.

I didn't need to know anything beyond Mahershala Ali & Tom Hardy. Shut up & take my money damnit!
Hi! I'm gay now.
Cary Fukunaga the groomer and sexual abuser is still getting projects greenlit? classic Hollywood
Cary Fukunaga is such a creep.
Im a big Fukunaga fan. Great director. Mahersha and Hardy seems like a really great pairing aswell
You had me at Fukunaga.
[удалено]
wtf. Are you serious?
I love NYC portrayed in movies. Count me in
Hell yeah 😭
Cary is a predator.
When you find out the director of your all-time favourite season of television is a groomer. What the fuck? Only just found out.
Fukunaga’s a huge creep, this is embarassing
In what way? Cause he fucks women?
Elvis also died that month (August 1977) so I should think that will at least get a mention.
Interesting, looking forward to it
People are still working with sex pest Cary?
Sounds like it might be a good double feature with *Summer of Sam*.
Holy shit. Great cast. Great director. Sick story.
Awesome talent on this one, that being said fuck that creep Cary even if he is super talented.
I thought Cary got canceled.
Won't believe this project will be finished until the cameras start rolling. Fukunaga now spends time in Ukraine or around. He recently posted some volunteer related content on his IG. He was absent from any promotion of Master of the Air TV show. He was one of the main showrunners.
He is fresh off Masters of the Air so evidently not.
He shot Masters of Air before the accusations
And Apple fully removed him from any promo for Masters of the Air, and dropped another series that they were working on with him entirely. This is the first time he's actually been hired for anything since the allegations were made.
add two more actors to the pile of people who have no problem working with creeps

Does for me.

I don’t know any of that, so I still get excited about his films.
Kinda gone off Tom Hardy as an actor, almost every role he does now he just overacts, like he's doing an awful impression of the character he's playing.
