Everyone hates this movie but as a fan of smosh back in the day it’s a pretty fun throw on in the background movie. Nothing to write home about but some really funny jokes here and there.
We were eating good! Now look, no marvel films this year and just one Deadpool movie?? We should have 3 seasons of a Deadpool tv show! Imagine how funny it would be if Deadpool kicked Homelander in the balls 🤣🤣
When I envision “Sony to the rescue”, I see Pacha swinging in on a vine, only to completely miss the herd of jaguars, then swinging back to rescue Kuzco, and end up tied to a log falling into the river.
Are any of these posters actually real? Rogue One didn’t have a rebel pilot and none of the X-Men characters looked like that in the movie, or else maybe I’d remember it better
One of my favourite memories on theaters was in Apocalypse: when they show Magneto having family on a cabin in the woods in exile, i whispered to my friend "this is the exact same fucking trope from Origins, now his family is gonna die?"; and then his family fucking dies and he gives his stupid ass monologue; we burst out laughing
Isn’t the director Duncan Jones his son? The Warcraft movie came out a few months after David Bowie died but I guess Duncan showed him an advanced screening of the film.
Always get Duncan Jones & Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium,Chappie, Gran Turismo) confused.
and speaking of which, wasn’t 2016 massively hated on because of all the political crap that went down, Harambe, and all of the celebrity deaths? I mean we lost Bowie, Rickman, Prince, Muhammad Ali, Anton Yelchin (only 27 years old and he died in a terrible car accident) George Michael, Carrie Fisher and her mom Debbie Reynolds (and Debbie died just one day after Carrie did I recall correctly) and a whole bunch more. So what’s with this whole 2016 was so good bullshit in the original post? Especially considering the fact most of these movies weren’t even liked when they came out.
2016 was good cause OP was in highschool/college and now they have a job and responsibilities and it sucks for them so the only thing they have now is nostalgia for an objectively shitty year that was subjectively less shitty for them
Unless you're one of the fellas from that Civil War documentary, it was apparently a great year for standing dead center in the middle of the frame and either staring into the middle distance or staring at the ground
I'll never forget the Assassin's Creed movie. Not the movie itself, the movie itself was beyond forgettable, but at the very end someone behind me broke out laughing talking about how dumb it was. That, and my cousin was furious that my father and I didn't like it, that we just didn't get it apparently.
I remember being bored out of my mind, it was so long for no reason and the day after I saw it I think they cut down the runtime lol. It may have been enjoyable if it actually took place in the past, but that was only like 5% of the movie.
I remember that was my biggest gripe with it. I assumed it was going to mostly be about him doing assassin stuff in the past but instead there was a ton of time spent in that lab or whatever.
Such a weird choice to focus most the movie on the whole reliving memories tech when it wasn’t even a memorable part of the games. A full movie of the past sequences could’ve been the best video game to movie adaptation yet. The setting and time period is seriously underrepresented and way more interesting than a lot of generic medieval action movies that had come out years prior.
I think this was the second last year where I actually got excited for films like these. I wanna say I’ve become slightly less of a nerd, but it’s really just pure ennui.
Remake Civil War. Make it dark and gritty and don’t tie it into any cinematic universe. Just have Kristen Dunst and Jesse Plemons going around America and kicking ass.
I’m still so sad that Warcraft was the way it was. I remember loving it so much when I saw a pre-screening in theaters; I was feral about it.
I tried making my gf watch it recently, we couldn’t even finish it. Goes to show how much being in a theater full of excited nerds will skew your perception.
Doctor Strange 1 isn’t that bad, not something I’d watch again but it was watchable and far better than whatever Multiverse of Madness was.
Rogue One isn’t bad either, but again, just not something I’d watch again, plus a good amount of the praise for it comes from the hallway scene at the end, it was heavily posted on here haha.
The rest, I agree, I didn’t watch Assassin’s Creed or Warcraft but they looked pretty dumb, haven’t played either game franchise but why would you make a PG13 Assassin’s Creed when the games were M rated?
Civil War is the most boring nonsense film ever. Your war buddy from WW2 was somehow still capable of fighting in like the 80s and killed my parents, so now we'll break up our planet protection alliance. Now we'll stand off where nothing of substance happens and this entire film is pretty much ignored moving forward.
I haven't rewatched CW once, i remember loving it, but that might have been because i watched it back to back to Apocalypse and it looked like a masterpiece in comparation
“Great year for nerds”
One of the most disappointing anticipated movies of all time (BvS), one of the worst comic book movies of all time (Suicide Squad), two subpar at best video game adaptations that almost no one remembers (Warcraft and Assassins Creed), another massively disappointing movie (Apocalypse), a movie so forgettable that the memes it caused are the most talked about part of it (Doctor Strange), two pretty good but not great movies (Deadpool and Civil War) and possibly the only solid Disney Star Wars movie (Rogue One)… yeah sure.
Come on. 2017 was right there! Logan, Guardians 2, Ragnarok, and to a lesser extent Lego Batman, Wonder Woman, and Homecoming. Even taking Josstice League into account… That’s much better than 2016.
I get that we are in a circle jerk sub but when posts like this get shared by some of you guys I question why you are in those subs in the first place
Like, we jerkin or did you go full circle?
Honestly, making fun of Warhammer really doesn’t sit right with me, considering it was a 2016 film directed by David Bowie’s son. Bro probably wasn’t in the best place.
Not going to crucify anyone who does, but it’s a fact about the movie I don’t see acknowledged.

T Pain was in this movie for some unknown reason
If you had an opportunity put T-Pain in your movie, you would probably do it
That was a T-Gain for them
He will do literally anything for a check
Oh come on man, let’s not talk down on T-Pain the king of the autotune app on iPhone
Don’t forget: ![gif](giphy|3o6ozogecIQXaULzNe|downsized)
KINO ALERT KINO ALERT WE GOT A GINORMOUS KINO
is that the smosh man?
Man*s*
Everyone hates this movie but as a fan of smosh back in the day it’s a pretty fun throw on in the background movie. Nothing to write home about but some really funny jokes here and there.
We were eating good! Now look, no marvel films this year and just one Deadpool movie?? We should have 3 seasons of a Deadpool tv show! Imagine how funny it would be if Deadpool kicked Homelander in the balls 🤣🤣
> no marvel films this year You forgot the only 3 Marvel Kinos this year Madame Web Venom: The Last Dance Kraven The Hunter
Sony to the rescue

*Jumanji: The Next Level* (2019).
I’m a fake fan 😥
Watch Morbius and do 10 Hail Avis.
jajaja and then Deadpool walks in 😂
chimichangas
*sucked Wolverine's balls
That X-Men Apocalypse poster looks like one of those superhero porn parody posters.
Are any of these posters actually real? Rogue One didn’t have a rebel pilot and none of the X-Men characters looked like that in the movie, or else maybe I’d remember it better
With the exception of BvS and Warcraft, they're all fan-made posters from before these movies had even a trailer
honestly the film itself looked like one too, genuinely baffled people gave it a pass (probably because of the 20 seconds of quicksilver?)
So did the movie
One of my favourite memories on theaters was in Apocalypse: when they show Magneto having family on a cabin in the woods in exile, i whispered to my friend "this is the exact same fucking trope from Origins, now his family is gonna die?"; and then his family fucking dies and he gives his stupid ass monologue; we burst out laughing
“IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FROM ME?!” How did the same people make First Class and Days of Future Past. This franchise is so all over the place
Wait till disney try Scott/Jean/Logan love triangle again and 3rd attempt at dark phoenix as well
I remember it being super serious too until Apocalypse shows up and he's like "Who the fuck are you?"
bro what is that Rogue One poster
Rough One
Yeah who even is that character lol. It sure isn’t Jyn Erso
I think I heard the last film David Bowie ever watched was Warcraft. Absolute Kino
So what’s with this whole 2016 was so good bullshit in the original post? Especially considering the fact most of these movies weren’t even liked when they came out.
for your first question, ya I think thats the connection. For your second question... this sub is entirely satire bro lol
2016 was good cause OP was in highschool/college and now they have a job and responsibilities and it sucks for them so the only thing they have now is nostalgia for an objectively shitty year that was subjectively less shitty for them
The only way it could’ve been better was if every character had tattoos
Unless you're one of the fellas from that Civil War documentary, it was apparently a great year for standing dead center in the middle of the frame and either staring into the middle distance or staring at the ground
Who the fuck would be proud of this
They all look like corperate made movies milking a universe as much as they can. And now just realizing what sub this is lol.
God, X-Men Apocalyse was the most hyped I had ever been for a movie 😭
Comics and sci-fi stopped being nerdy a generation ago, that is why the MCU and Star Wars can make billions of dollars.
They’re nerdy again now thankfully
The warcraft movie was kino and I'm tired of pretending it wasn't
I'll never forget the Assassin's Creed movie. Not the movie itself, the movie itself was beyond forgettable, but at the very end someone behind me broke out laughing talking about how dumb it was. That, and my cousin was furious that my father and I didn't like it, that we just didn't get it apparently.

As a huge fan of the AC games I genuinely can't remember anything about the movie except Michael fassbender was in it.
I think this was the second last year where I actually got excited for films like these. I wanna say I’ve become slightly less of a nerd, but it’s really just pure ennui.
ennui?? obviously you’re not watching enough marvel movies! Take up a meaningful hobby, like collecting Funko pops!
2016 was a crazy year. No i won't elaborate
I’ve mostly blocked it from my memory. Did a gorilla die in a zoo and then get elected for president or something?
yes in that order, 4 years with a dead gorilla POTUS was insane
Curious how every single movie there is bad. Hire Fans!
Remake Civil War. Make it dark and gritty and don’t tie it into any cinematic universe. Just have Kristen Dunst and Jesse Plemons going around America and kicking ass.
I remade Civil War. It’s about photography and politics now
I’m still so sad that Warcraft was the way it was. I remember loving it so much when I saw a pre-screening in theaters; I was feral about it. I tried making my gf watch it recently, we couldn’t even finish it. Goes to show how much being in a theater full of excited nerds will skew your perception.
Being in a theater can really improve your experience. Warcraft was just boring to me, didnt hit at all
Deadpool, Dr. Strange and Rogue One were ok I guess
As a nerd I actually really enjoyed Deadpool and Rogue One.
Except for Deadpool and Civil War none of these movies were good
Suicide squad was a masterpiece how dare you
You mean Academy Award winner Suicide Squad.
Those two aren't good either
I haven't rewatched CW once, i remember loving it, but that might have been because i watched it back to back to Apocalypse and it looked like a masterpiece in comparation
Is 2016 civil war related to 2024 civil war ?
Normally we just call those elections but I get it
Ah fuck no, some of these movies are complete trash and now they getting the nostalgia treatment
“Great year for nerds” One of the most disappointing anticipated movies of all time (BvS), one of the worst comic book movies of all time (Suicide Squad), two subpar at best video game adaptations that almost no one remembers (Warcraft and Assassins Creed), another massively disappointing movie (Apocalypse), a movie so forgettable that the memes it caused are the most talked about part of it (Doctor Strange), two pretty good but not great movies (Deadpool and Civil War) and possibly the only solid Disney Star Wars movie (Rogue One)… yeah sure. 2022 has Morbius
Forgive me, I’m a fake fan! 2022 wins.
this was before any of those movies released
Doesn't matter, had supes
[удалено]
the most forgettable one somehow. I remember zero scenes from it
HIRE FANS
I get that we are in a circle jerk sub but when posts like this get shared by some of you guys I question why you are in those subs in the first place Like, we jerkin or did you go full circle?
![gif](giphy|l3E6zTWMk6rmCjBQc|downsized)
Deadpool is the only movie out of those that I actually like and think is good, to be fair I haven't seen Warcraft but come on lol
I enjoyed the warcraft movie and think it’s fine. Thoughts?
Wow! 2 decent movies!
9 movies ranging mid to bad
don’t forget all those celebrities that died
Great year for celebrity deaths
Was there a Fasten the Furious movie in 2016?
it absolutely was

My pet peeve is when somebody calls themself a nerd for liking the most popular franchises in the world
Two of these were kinda OK
I will not tolerate any Rouge One slander, it goes super hard and gave us the only good Star Wars thing as of recently.
weeb
Unironically my least favourite Disney Star Wars movie. Just totally boring, but nerds jizz their pants over it because "OMG so gritty".
Honestly, making fun of Warhammer really doesn’t sit right with me, considering it was a 2016 film directed by David Bowie’s son. Bro probably wasn’t in the best place. Not going to crucify anyone who does, but it’s a fact about the movie I don’t see acknowledged.
there are like four good movies here
Yes back then 5 out of 9 movies were good. Today it's 1 out of 9.
ok mr unvaccinated, totally valid opinion right there
Rating out of 9 is crazy
BvS, Suicide Squad, Warcraft. Rogue One was pretty good too.
