the wildest thing is calling Predator a **"Franchise"** that has to be treated with respect.
My brother in Shane Black, Predator's a seven-movie franchise with one good film! Fucking *Indiana Jones* has a better track record!
What are you even trying to say with the Indiana jones comment?
It has 4 movies, 2 are good, 1 is alright and 1 is shit. What a strange comparison to a 7 movie franchise. Obviously it has a better track record.
I think they're talking about the crossover movies with the Xenomorphs but excluding those two movies, we currently have 5 Predator movies: 2 great, 2 mediocre, and 1 that is so bad that it's script feels like 4-chan wrote it.
Idk, bruh. Have you seen *Temple of Doom* recently? I tried rewatching it not too long ago and I couldn't finish it because it was so much worse than I remembered. Aside from just being kinda dumb, it was so much more shockingly racist than I remembered.
As an Indian, I can wholeheartedly agree. There's a reason why Temple of Doom hasn't aired on Tv networks. Even then, it's technically well-made despite some scenes and characters that are considered culturally outdated.
Speaking of Temple of Doom, Ke Huy Quan who played Shortround was in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once and he knocked it out of the park by playing 4 main iterations of Waymond Wang (Main Wang, Alpha Wang, Wong Kar-Wai Wang, and Bankrupt Wang) and it was so beautiful.
I mean....they are though. I mean, from a critical standpoint, pretty much all but the first and prey have really low imdb, RT and metacritic scores which indicate that critics and audiences really didn't enjoy them too much.
I know, thats a bad way to gauge how good a film is, but I really don't want to write an essay about how these films are bad. Fact is, these films evidently never resonated well with the people watching them.
Terminator has more worthwhile movies and that one only has two. Predator is definitely the weakest action franchise out of the bunch. It’s the terminator problem it’s a one movie concept
I mean for a sexist like him, 100 minutes IS probably ti long for him to have to sit and watch a competent and intelligent woman on screen. Bro was probably seething.
And one of the running themes (if you can even say Predator has themes) of the franchise is that the predators are overly confident in their abilities and repeatedly underestimate humans. They are literally trophy hunters who get defeated time and time again by human ingenuity.
But Prey had a political as the protagonist so it is woke.
I think the theme is that there’s always someone bigger than you. Maybe more like technically advanced in the Predators case as Arnie isn’t exactly small but that’s the idea.
And Jesse Ventura, future US state Governor of Minnesota then stepped into the ring and said, "It's Bleedin' Time, but not for me!" and hurls the Predator onto the judge's table.
The only time muscles mean anything, is in hand-to-hand combat. The predator is never killed by bare hands, but by weapons and traps, which a woman can use just as well
Is that not what they’re complaining about? That if Arnold can’t beat the predator in hand-to-hand combat, then nobody should?
If she actually did kick the Predator’s butt in the movie without outsmarting it, that would be silly, but apparently she doesn’t based on what other people claim.
Beep boop spoiler spoiler
>!She manages to knock it's helmet off and get it to target itself with it's own gun, killing it - This is after days of the Pred tearing through anyone who confronted it directly, the main character was the only one to properly break the problem down and whittle away at it indirectly!<
What the other guy said, but she also steals its mask, uses a herb to lower her body temp to become invisible and cuts off its arm by redirecting his shield with the spear she gets from him
"Based" is a deesphobic term. This is the first warning, please absent from using it or face a ban.

Yes all the predator movies are basically stand alone things with a rare minor reference to the Arnold movie usually that doesn’t get in the way or would seem weird if you hadn’t seen Arnold’s predator film
You don't need to watch anything, all the predator films are pretty disconnected other than references. That said you should defo watch the original because it's one of the best thrillers of all time.
> predictable and with cheesy dialogue
sir, this is a Predator film
> weird attempts to reference the other movies
sir, this is an established franchise's prequel
Did they even watch the OG lmao. Arnold’s muscles didn’t do shit against the predator, it’s his brain that got him through it. Anyone can potentially win against the predator if they know exactly what to do
It's really ironic how the first movie makes fun of the classic Action movie archetype and now a bunch of Predator Fans^(TM) are mad that the new movie doesn't follow the Archetype that the first movie mocked
predator is a really great semi-subversive action flick that unfortunately played into the deification of the 80s action hero by nerds. the whole idea of the film is that arnold and the gang are out of their depth and absolutely fucked, and the only way arnold manages to survive is by fighting the predator on his own terms using his head. a unique take on the 80s action formula, and a showcase of schwarzenegger being more than just a big angry guy with one liners. yet it’s ruined by greasy nerds fitting it in with the wider 80s action landscape - cringe one liners, bicep flexes and all. so when a sequel comes around that clearly understands what the original was about, they’re gonna sit on their virgin high horses about it cuz ‘wamen’
Same thing happened with Die Hard. It’s about some dude trying to get the cops inside the building and he keeps getting hurt and has to use his wits to survive. He beats the bad guy with a clever trick instead of any brawn. Then every movie after he’s flipping trucks and shit and is badass.
Weird how both had the same director too
and **again** people start bringing up the "bUt wHo wOuLd wIn iN a FiGHt" bullshit, because the movie's lead is a female. for real, **who gives a shit**??
Also Predator 2 featuring a middle-aged man with no fighting ability. It's almost like it's a theme of the series that "survival of the fittest" doesn't mean "survival of the biggest muscles."
Until you give it 0.5 seconds of thought, sure. Realistically it's probably about as clever as using a pun about France to make a disparaging comment about Poland.
“You said I hate female protagonists, but I’ll have you know that of all the movies I’ve watched, I actually like *checks notes* two female protagonists*! Checkmate, woke libtards!”
*Sarah Conner and Ripley
All the points he made (except female empowerment) could be made for the first Predator movie as well, I have no idea what he was expecting.
Also complaining about what he calls "the message" in this movie means he's totally missing out the point of the plot's core.
There is is this [scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPl_zNaqAus) in the predator 2 where the main character just hand to hand combat the predator but no one seem to complaint about it. also I watch some of fight scene from the movie Prey on youtube here is the [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaFHu5I2YTY) she never over power the predator she just manage to out smart the predator and getting some hit in because 10 difference men manage to weaken the predator just to show how much of the monster the predator is .There was no dialogue in some of the fight scene. These dipshit just make up shit to be mad about.
Native girl impatient to start her rite of passage to become a hunter, alien hunter arrives on his own rite to become a hunter and starts taking out all the biggest animals. She tries to kill it but it doesn't see her as a threat and just kills her party instead. Gets captured by frenchies trying to hunt the alien. They use her and her brother as bait but alien doesn't bite and takes them out instead. Brother dies, girl figures out multiple weaknesses over the movie and uses them to trap and kill it.
Did they forget the part where >!her brother damages the fuck out of it and it pretty much ignores her for him in that moment.!< The movie even has her state that the reason she is dangerous is because people assume she is not. It definitely never says that she is more skilled than them, in fact it constantly shows her failing. It does show that due to not being as good at it naturally as the others that she's had to come to rely on her wits more than raw skill.
I don't see how anyone could think this is pandering... Her brother was clearly the better hunter, he has to save her several times and >!he chooses to die to save her at the end, it could have just as easily been him that beat it if things had unfolded slightly different.!< She was an out of the box thinker, which is what is needed to kill the predator in most cases.
Pretty much like Dutch, >!she wins by observing how it hunts and using those traits against it.!< Very unrealistic. Everyone knows women don't have the upper body strength to observe things.
Critical Drinker ***definitely*** would have sided with the... >!French, right? I think the walking sacks of free bait in this are French, assuming they aren't Br\*ts.!<
I’m assuming you are American right?
Lack of U in words colour - color,
Using Z in words over S,
Things like sidewalk from pavement
And you can’t pronounce Jaguar right
2016 when the "anti sjw" became somewhat publicly acceptable and now theres 1001 youtube "movie reviewers" who cry because women exist in media other than their porn
I would say the 1960s with Jane Fonda with Cat Ballou (1965) as my earliest example. Even though it's a western action comedy, it literally features a strong female lead.
I feel like they really made it believable >!that she could kill the predator. Because she learns how to cover her body heat, then shoots the predator in the back of the head with a big ass gun, possibly implying the predator had been pretty badly injured and wouldn’t be able to fight as well having a major head injury. Also the feral predator was way overly cocky and had already been injured many times throughout the film.!<
Saw the movie last night, it was pretty fucking good. 100% all the people bitching about the heroine are sexist af because she defeats the predator by the rules set by the world in which the story takes place. She uses brains and ingenuity over raw strength....if that is a problem for these sun boiled eggheads then they should also bitch about Home Alone, Alien, and other movies where a seemingly weaker protagonist rises against the odds....so you know....ALMOST EVERY ACTION/UNDERDOG MOVIE EVER YA CUNTS.
"The Message" changes depending on who you ask but for the most part it really just comes down to: women can be capable as men, gay/trans people are equal members of society, racism is bad, etc. Very awful and no good things obviously we must fight against these evil doctrines
They should have subverted expectation by having the Predator as a washed up hobo who’s lost all his powers and isn’t interested in hunting any more hear me out
That would be just way too "disney". If the protagonist was that "hobo predator" then that would be intersting but the main character in this one is a little girl so this would feel like iron giant but with alien guy
i like amanda the jedi, cosmonaut variety hour, and patrick willems quite a bit, although i'm not sure they're the types to review literally every single thing out there. they're all pretty cool tho.
I really like Patrick Willems. He doesn’t give a point by point rehash of a movie’s plot, but instead focuses on some cool aspect of the movie.
Also, I really like Pretty Much It. Not a movie review channel, but they do movie commentaries, and they’re really fun and funny. Those guys just love movies, no matter how dumb or cheesy they may be.
I grew up with Chris Stuckmann. Although, I don’t even listen to him and his points most of the time. I just appreciate the passion he has when talking about movies.
That's what I was trying to avoid. A conversation about body mass, okay? We've had that conversation five times a day for the last month because we keep watching Predator and all you talk about is Weathers and Jesse "The Body" Ventura and how many pounds they can pack on...
You can never win with these people. When a "woke" movie does poorly it's obviously because it's woke but never because of other issues unrelated to that. But when a "woke" movie does well, it still sucks and people who like it are brainwashed or dont know good movies.
She literally shot an already injured predator in the head at point blank range before even starting the fight. The predator literally green goblined itself in the end. WTF are these people on about? How and when did she over power it?
I agree that the dialogue was horrible and the performances were not great, but I loved the action and look of this movie. I’d say it’s good, nothing special, but good
I like how they say the protagonist is a "mary sue" when she struggles, runs away and gets her ass kicked for half the movie. They also say the men are portrayed as useless, but all things considered they do a great job fighting the predator. They're just impossibly outmatched in melee combat. They actually get some stabs in, which is more than anyone in Predator managed to do (without boobie traps)
Ah the curse of being the protagonist of a Predator sequel…
Predator 2: Why is he old?
Predators: Why is he skinny?
The Predator: Why does he have an autistic kid?
Prey: Why is she a woman?
Mary Sue is the most meaningless buzzword at this point up there with "bad writing" now.
Why is she a bad character? Mary Sue
Why is she a mary sue? she powerful
Why do you think this movie is objectively bad? bad writing
Can you elaborate? no

Critical Drinker just happens to experience time 10x slower than the rest of us sjw 😡
I mean, his favorite Japanese movies Oldboy and Crouching Tiger are like 2 hours each. Two famous Japanese movies that everybody knows are Japanese.
😊😊japanese movies are great but they always have this weirdlanguage i cant understand so im just watching them for the visuals 😊
Did he actually say that? Jesus christ this guy.
Oh my two favorite Jackie Japan movies!
the wildest thing is calling Predator a **"Franchise"** that has to be treated with respect. My brother in Shane Black, Predator's a seven-movie franchise with one good film! Fucking *Indiana Jones* has a better track record!

A more apt comparison would have been police academy
take that back
I think the 2010 one was alright
I think they're talking about the crossover movies with the Xenomorphs but excluding those two movies, we currently have 5 Predator movies: 2 great, 2 mediocre, and 1 that is so bad that it's script feels like 4-chan wrote it.

Lucas had more involvement that’s why

Why everyone gotta disrespect Danny Glover's opus, Predator 2?
P2 is probably the best sequel you could get for a movie like predator.
I’m tired of Predators (2010) slander.
Even DCEU has a better track record
You mean four good movies. What the hell, man? How are the other Predator movies bad?
I mean....they are though. I mean, from a critical standpoint, pretty much all but the first and prey have really low imdb, RT and metacritic scores which indicate that critics and audiences really didn't enjoy them too much. Terminator has more worthwhile movies and that one only has two. Predator is definitely the weakest action franchise out of the bunch. It’s the terminator problem it’s a one movie concept
That turns into a 7 hour video essay when you pause to whine every 30 seconds
Actually it's 99 minutes
Didn't the director said every cut of the film was 97 mins?
Google says 99
100 minutes is way longer than he has ever been with a woman
Without peeing in his basement
I mean for a sexist like him, 100 minutes IS probably ti long for him to have to sit and watch a competent and intelligent woman on screen. Bro was probably seething.

My favourite gender and race is political
I think the theme is that there’s always someone bigger than you. Maybe more like technically advanced in the Predators case as Arnie isn’t exactly small but that’s the idea.
Are you a cishet white man or are you “political”/porn category
no wdym, arnie used WWE wresslin moves and slapped preddyter the fuck out!!
And Jesse Ventura, future US state Governor of Minnesota then stepped into the ring and said, "It's Bleedin' Time, but not for me!" and hurls the Predator onto the judge's table.
Yep. Schwarzenegger got his ass handed to him. His muscle mass meant nothing in that fight.
The only time muscles mean anything, is in hand-to-hand combat. The predator is never killed by bare hands, but by weapons and traps, which a woman can use just as well
I watched the og predator movie I know that you need to outsmart him to Beat going head to head to the predator We’ll get you kill quick
Is that not what they’re complaining about? That if Arnold can’t beat the predator in hand-to-hand combat, then nobody should? If she actually did kick the Predator’s butt in the movie without outsmarting it, that would be silly, but apparently she doesn’t based on what other people claim.
She kills it with a mix of dutch's methods from P1 and harrigan's from P2, traps and its own weapons
sounds awesome
Also makes a lot of sense why they give glover's character the same pistol in 2, he beat them just like she did
can you explain how she killed him with a spoiler? not planning to see the movies but I'm interested in the kill
Beep boop spoiler spoiler >!She manages to knock it's helmet off and get it to target itself with it's own gun, killing it - This is after days of the Pred tearing through anyone who confronted it directly, the main character was the only one to properly break the problem down and whittle away at it indirectly!<

Or the first one. Arnie clearly beats it with wits, not brawn.
If you’ve watched it, would you recommend I watch it without having have seen any other Predator movies?
Yeah. The movie is good go watch it👍

Apparently 90 mins is too long according to him
...wait, it's *that* short? Now I **really** wanna see it in theaters...
Longer than the porn he watches, which is probably the only acceptable media involving women according to him.
If I had to choose between TCD's review of Prey and the porn parody of Grease, you know what I will pick.
I keep seeing people complain about, specifically, “If it bleeds, we can kill it” being cheesy. It’s from the og predator.
They didn’t say it with a thick Austrian accent so it’s terrible
How’s that cheesy ?
C'mon like *every* movie in the series has that line in some form or another
>cheesy dialogue *Arnold throws knife to pin man to wall* "stick around"
Fuck you that was an excellent pun
No complaints from me, cheesy dialogue is what makes a good predator film
Without the cheese, it would be way too serious and boring lol
Prey probably has the least cheesy dialog in the series, likely due to it having so little dialog to begin with.
Critical Drinker is fucking coping hahahaha you love to see it
“Oh fuck it’s actually good, better call it overrated trash to cover my ass.”
Did they even watch the OG lmao. Arnold’s muscles didn’t do shit against the predator, it’s his brain that got him through it. Anyone can potentially win against the predator if they know exactly what to do

And that middle-aged man had to use one of the Predator's weapons as an advantage to fight. Predators features both brains and brawns involved.
It’s the shortest of Predator movies. Overlong my ass
It's overlong for him because it has a woman.
If you call a female character a Mary Sue I'm fuckin stealing something out yo house!!!!!
Even worse. They're saying Mary Sioux.
NGL that's pretty clever for centrist douchebags.
Until you give it 0.5 seconds of thought, sure. Realistically it's probably about as clever as using a pun about France to make a disparaging comment about Poland.
Well if you're racist enough it doesn't matter!
if you call a woman a Mary Sue, it is the law that you donate $100 to my kofi 🙏
I always see your comments in this sub and they always make me laugh, keep up the good work big fan
It's become meaningless. The protagonist spending the whole movie struggling and barely keeping alive is a "mary sue" now?

the most inaccurate use of the word cinephile
Cinephile: people who exclusively watch big budget hollywood movies and then complain when they suck all the time, or even if they don't
Michael Bolton would be rolling in his grave (if he was dead)
Can anyone give me a summary of that movie so i can pretend that I've seen it?
the predator hunts the greatest game there is >!french people!<
Literally me
based
Humans get hunted by a Predator
Why pretend to see it? It's supposed to be pretty good.
Native girl impatient to start her rite of passage to become a hunter, alien hunter arrives on his own rite to become a hunter and starts taking out all the biggest animals. It's on Hulu :-/
Yea. But if I'm gonna watch a movie i have to be in my movie watching mood and that could take a while.
Same, I don't have the dedication to sit down for 2 hours on one movie, but will do it for a show
That's my main dilemma when i have to decide to use the free trial or not
sail the seven seas on soap2day
if it helps, the movie is like 90 minutes long.
You can fly the Jolly Roger too, just saying
Dumb human trifling with smart alien and somehow won.
Did they forget the part where >!her brother damages the fuck out of it and it pretty much ignores her for him in that moment.!< The movie even has her state that the reason she is dangerous is because people assume she is not. I personally find it completely unrealistic that a woman could take on a fictional monster.
(*Cough*...Ripley....*cough cough*....Aliens)
They don’t watch movies. They complain about them.
Pretty much like Dutch, >!she wins by observing how it hunts and using those traits against it.!< Very unrealistic. Everyone knows women don't have the upper body strength to observe things.

Well you changed it and made it all funny anyway so that’s your doing
Did we though? I learnt British spelling at school, so I don't get what has changed.

Bro idk I’m sorry Just don’t be French
Don't worry, I'm from the "secular, socialist" republic of India.
Wouldn’t worry then, you’re country has a higher GDP than us now
Yeah they were >!French. I love how they were portrayed as completely drowning in hubris.!<
Since when are people mad about female protagonists in horror movies?
2016 when the "anti sjw" became somewhat publicly acceptable and now theres 1001 youtube "movie reviewers" who cry because women exist in media other than their porn
Comment of the day good sir
Litterally every slasher/horror main characters since 80's are female lol
I would say the 1960s with Jane Fonda with Cat Ballou (1965) as my earliest example. Even though it's a western action comedy, it literally features a strong female lead.
Because the Predator franchise is for big strong, muscular men!
They have to have existed before 2016 or they're woke. Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween? That's fine. Furiosa? Woke.
I feel like they really made it believable >!that she could kill the predator. Because she learns how to cover her body heat, then shoots the predator in the back of the head with a big ass gun, possibly implying the predator had been pretty badly injured and wouldn’t be able to fight as well having a major head injury. I've said it before but if alien came out today it would be hounded by these inbred twats
so political that she kept her underwear on, clearly Ripley should've gone fully nude (otherwise it's PC)
There is just NO possible way David could've beaten Goliath, they are obviously trying to push 'The Message' onto us once more
What’s this ‘’The Message’’ they’re talking about?
"The Message" changes depending on who you ask but for the most part it really just comes down to: women can be capable as men, gay/trans people are equal members of society, racism is bad, etc. Very awful and no good things obviously we must fight against these evil doctrines
i love how the meaning of mary sue switched from a trope name for a self-insert in fanfiction to any female character who is shown to be powerful.
All of the YouTube "critics" I ever see are complete tools like this. Who are the good YouTube movie reviewers?
i like amanda the jedi, cosmonaut variety hour, and patrick willems quite a bit, although i'm not sure they're the types to review literally every single thing out there. they're all pretty cool tho.
I really like Patrick Willems. He doesn’t give a point by point rehash of a movie’s plot, but instead focuses on some cool aspect of the movie. Also, I really like Pretty Much It. I mean BODY MASS alone...
That's what I was trying to avoid. A conversation about body mass, okay? We've had that conversation five times a day for the last month because we keep watching Predator and all you talk about is Weathers and Jesse "The Body" Ventura and how many pounds they can pack on...
All the men seething about a woman defending herself against violence, against a literal predator, it's a RED FLAG ZONE, BABY
Haven't watched it yet. But neither has the person claiming she's beating the Predator in hand to hand combat.
I liked it except for how unrealistic her main weapon was, would have preferred if she was just a crack shot with her bow tbh.
I’d say it’s good, nothing special, but good
Did you just review every predator movie in one?
No I really like the characters and cheesy dialogue in Predator 1. They are expressive, loud, and have some life to them. This new cast is very quiet
Critical Drinker is such a hack
I like how they say the protagonist is a "mary sue" when she struggles, runs away and gets her ass kicked for half the movie. They also say the men are portrayed as useless, but all things considered they do a great job fighting the predator. They're just impossibly outmatched in melee combat. They actually get some stabs in, which is more than anyone in Predator managed to do (without boobie traps)
What’s the audio from?

Fuck then, went in with low expectations and fucking loved it (and especially it's gadgets)
I watched it tonight, bad ass movie.
Critical drinker try to enjoy things challenge
Oh, it's easy. Just don't put women and minorities as main leads and he will enjoy it. I wonder what's his problem with them...
Those 1,676 fans that liked that tweet probably said "I was waiting for Critical Drinker to post! See? We all knew it was gonna suck 🤓🤓"
Conservatives are so annoying
Those people clearly didn't see the film but just wanted to shit on a female protagonist. Neckbeard "cinephiles" smh
'she can't outsmart the predator because women aren't smart. Sjw trash 🤢🤢🤢'
We're gonna see a lot of copium from right wingers the next few weeks.
Man is in absolute cope mode.
And to think I used to respect the drinker, turns out he is a loser cunt.
Ah the curse of being the protagonist of a Predator sequel… Predator 2: Why is he old? Predators: Why is he skinny? The Predator: Why does he have an autistic kid? Prey: Why is she a woman?
Mary Sue is the most meaningless buzzword at this point up there with "bad writing" now. Why is she a bad character? Mary Sue Why is she a mary sue? she powerful Why do you think this movie is objectively bad? bad writing Can you elaborate? no
Now he’s gonna have to make six whole separate videos about how it’s a cinematic disaster.
Didn't like the French or whoever they were shown as simple cookie cut bad guys.
\_me agreeing with a good amount of what was said there\_ y-yeah, fuck em!
The Idiot (1951)
lol fucking losers. downvote this one more to prove my point, go.

Had no interest in this movie, but now i'm slightly curious
If they saw the actress' character in legion they'd literally just collapse on the spot.
Cheesy dialogue must be in reference to the French people in the film
