The struggle is real. Multiple monitors, at least one browser instance in each monitor, often with 20 or more tabs in each... Thankful for Edge sleeping tabs. And Collections.

gracerev217

This is the way, I've noticed edge runs much better with separate instances of 15-20 tabs instead of one instance with 40-50 tabs

Nate379

The sleeping tabs, hate them, always turn it off myself. Found it causes issues with some tabs. But none of my own systems have less than 32GB of RAM…

7FootElvis

Yeah I had to go to 64gb as I am always at around 30 or more being used. But over the years I haven't had any issues with sleeping tabs for any sites, so that's good.

Multiple monitors, plus virtual desktops/workspaces/whatever you want to call them. I have 2x 14" screens (dual-display Lenovo Yoga Book 9i) which are 'pinned' for static stuff (email, chat, softphone, tickets, etc) and then an external 40" monitor with several virtual desktops for the various tasks I'm working on. The large external 4K monitor is effectively the same as 4x 20" 1920x1080 monitors, so for most tasks that means I don't need too many overlapping windows. Just takes some mental discipline to switch to a clean desktop for a new task, and also to remember to close things down when done since they're now out of sight!

Great ideas

Simple Tab Groups in Firefox is the way, using temporary access containers.

roll_for_initiative_

i'm using 6 monitors (2 rows of three). However, after working with some long documents on my samsung ultrawide at home and Windows 11 with the easy windows snapping tool that comes down from the top of the monitors? I could easily see two ultrawides, one on top of the other, being superior. I try to have everything visible all the time because i'll forget about it if i don't see it. I'm sure that's a symptom of something, ADHD or something, and it seems rampant in IT. How amazing must it be to be an end user with like 2 monitors and 4-5 items to keep track of?!

5 monitors and it's still not enough sometimes.

SooPSSy

Yep, 5 monitors are not enough.

N9th_Symphony

Ctrl+Tab, Alt+Tab, and Windows+Tab mostly; I also abuse the bijeezus outta my Sticky Notes too.

1x 34" - two thirds is PSA, IT Glue, etc and rest for other web app 1x 24" vertical - teams 1x 14" laptop - Outlook usually

Merilyian

Edge with vertical tabs and tab folders. This contains all of the website I need to do stuff in. Second window/monitor has teams and PSA. I've hit the point where I rarely need to open new tabs and know where they all are. Bonus points for ultra wides.

Distinct-War-3020

Edge Collections and workspaces, all of our techs have 3 monitors minimum with at least one being an ultrawide, and all techs have at least 32GB of ram on their machines. Granted, giving every tech a $4k setup is not feasible everywhere.

According-Bed-268

I use Windows built in workspaces. I have no issues.

texomans

I use 4 x 34" Ultrawide monitors @ 3440x1440 resolution. Then I use FancyZones in PowerToys to layout all apps and tab sets where I like them. They are setup 3 wide and the fourth right above the center one. Love my spacecraft. 😂

JayCruzTech

Excellent suggestions, in summary, I need more monitors…”Honey, Reddit told me I need more monitors, especially ultra wide…”

How many apps do you run? We use alot of integrations, so we don't have any issue really. PSA, RMM, CIPP is about the only things that are opened permanently. Close what you don't use, it's not that hard.

GullibleDetective

Close your tabs Also this is so highly dependent on your apps, what your working on at the time
