Me too. I have previously contacted customer service about this and they said "sorry, there's no way to opt out of these" and thank me and tell me my feedback is valuable.
Yet this still exists. Completely ridiculous.
HEY GUYS! TCG HERE TO TELL YOU ABOUT AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE IN YOUR SELLER PORTAL THAT REQUIRES YOU TO LOG IN TO READ ON THE OFF CHANCE ITS A CUSTOMER COMPLAINT....PSYCH, ITS AN EXCITING NOTIFICATION OF THE NEW FLESH AND BLOOD PLAYMAT PRERELASE THIS WEEK.
No joke, with the constant dumb messages like this between the weekly magic releases and stupid flesh and blood products with no ability to opt out, I deactivated my TCG account when I wasn't selling sealed products. I literally moved my day to day to ebay because of the included tracking + insurance on everything just because I got tired of the exact feeling you are expressing that speaks to the bigger issue that TCG doesn't value sellers.
TCGplayer.com: You have a new message in your message center
"Great news! Playmats: OP: Japanese 1st Anniversary Playmat releases on 3/29/2024."
Compliments of TCG player's email sent to my spam folder
Yea its pretty annoying, just keep in mind when you get the notification it will say "tcgplayer.com: you have a message in yo.." if it's a set release notification, then "tcgplayer.com: message from buyer for order..." if it's something you actually need to address. This helps curb the anxiety a bit, at least for me.
I might as well ask too while I'm here, does everybody get spammed every card game they have, or am I getting them because I have a few cards listed from those games when I find them in bulk? I assume is the latter but still curious how that works.
I only get spammed for card games I've listed. But that includes games that I used to list in the past but I no longer have inventory of currently.
So I still get emails for One Piece and Vanguard despite not selling any right now.
This has been an issue that the pro retailer group has regularly given feedback for on Facebook. I am curious if anybody actually values these messages. If we are listing products, we know when it releases, so I don’t think anyone really needs these notifications.
Not so much product announcement stuff but I fucking HATE those emails saying "Did you forget to buy something?? You have items left in your cart! hurry over to checkout and we'll have 'em shipped out immediately!"
Like yeah ass-face I'm keeping em in my cart to watch the price on them a bit, leave me alone!
I know they are all automated but sales, special deals, price drops or tracking number emails are the only thing I want to see from you TCG Player.
They should make a way to turn these off/customize which ones you receive.
Total bullshit and completely customizable on their programming end- they just don't want us to have that option.
The fact that they don't let you opt out of these is actually illegal: https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/blog/2023/08/when-sending-commercial-email-businesses-cant-unsubscribe-can-spam-compliance
I complained enough about them that they eventually just asked that I stop selling on there, which I was happy to do.Â
Everytime I see that I have a message on tcgplayer I think "oh god, what now" but it's always them saying "______ magic set is releasing in Friday" I'm relieved that it isn't an unhappy customer, but I have to mentally prepare for that every time.
I complained about this same issue when they asked me to take a survey today. 😆

Yes, my god. My heart drops whenever I see you have a message. It’s never anything good.

Every card game here. And I only list mtg.
Oof lol that's horrible. Thank you for answering.
So you’ve got all the hot metazoo updates.

Such a specifically relatable thing lol
I've reported their announcements over and over. They eventually told me to stop reporting them and to change my notification settings 🤣
I’ve emailed about this. They don’t care to make it optional.

No, I get 10-20 messages a day from TCGplayer and I've never cared about this. I just click on it and move on with my day.
you're weird.
Maybe a new contender for #1 most boring and inane post on this subreddit, sick one dude
