Usually it’ll tell you how bad your sleep apnea is and then they treat it accordingly. Cardio issues in general while resting are looked at to see if anything’s wrong there. It’s not really a study for sleepless people unless it’s these issues causing sleep disturbance. But these days usually it’s vitamin levels, caffeine, alcohol, stress, depression, hormones etc etc which you will not be counseled for in this study
Hi. We went to an ENT specialist first, who specializes in sleep apnea surgery. He scheduled the sleep study for us, shared number of technician and it was done at home. I’d recommend the same. Dr Agarwal who has his own hospital in Kandivali is excellent for all ENT issues including sleep apnea.
Same here...they can do it at home for you..but standard procedures for sleep apnea are the mainly same only- weight loss, tonsillectomy/ UPP(staged)...or if very sever then CPAP machine
Thanks for the recommendation. What did do you after the study? Surgery or CPAP or some other method of management?
I got a mandibular advancement device for 10k, it was a big fail gave me TMJ Pain.
I was recently suggested this study at Sir HN Reliance Hospital at Girgaon. They charge ~17000 for it. Haven't done it yet but might do it if my insurance covers it.
I’d suggest getting one done at a proper sleep clinic or in a hospital. My husband got a sleep study done at home by Kadam sleep study (recommended by our EnT). It was a bad experience, he switched on the device too soon, the battery ran out around 3 in the night (which is generally when he is in deep stage of sleep)
The device attached to the chest was heavy and uncomfortable to sleep with, it barely recorded data for 3-4h of sleep. So the results too were not that reliable.
I’d strongly suggest getting it done at a verified sleep clinic as they have proper setup to conduct these studies and would definitely provide more accurate results.
Don’t need to stay in a hospital. If you need book a hotel room and advise the lab to arrange for visit at the hotel. They will put the Sleep study device on your body and collect it next morning.
Cost is 5000 INR and upwards
Let me try finding one I know someone did it..
The guy came to my house and hooked me up with the sensors and the machine.
Had to sleep in a separate room from wife and kid to ensure no one accidentally touches anything.
I got it done at home as a doc I met wanted to check me for sleep apnea, the technician came with a monitoring machine and I had put it on myself for a whole night. Got the report next day, pls dm I can share his number if you are keen.
Get it done at home. They will come and install the apparatus and you will get results in a day. Way cheaper too. What's your location, I will share a contact on DM.
Its for detecting sleep apnea and the type of sleep apnea, and its cause. Everybody has a different cause for it. You know what I am talking about? Snoring. Kharate maarna. Yeh main jab gajab gareeb tha, i had it, I am certain it has caused me to be less ameer than I am.
Do you know why I am making it such a big deal? Because snoring while sleeping means potentially your brain isn't receiving enough oxygen. You don't need to be a genius to figure what that means. Also snoring can almost certainly cause cardio vascular diseases for you. Apart from reducing your cognitive functions and ability.
Yeah It also makes it very hard to lose weight and recover from injury and surgery and other things.
Sleet study? Bruh. I can’t even study when I’m awake.
It's okay, hopefully you won't ever need it once you're my age. :)
Wockhardt Hospital in South Bombay. Near, I think, Jacob Circle.
Did you do undergo the study? Did it help you in anyway, I mean the diagnosis from it?

I know what it is for, I want to get it checked for sleep apnea, to see how bad it is.

Just CPAP. It has worked well.
sorry for bothering you again. How has it improved your quality of life? Lost weight?
It was my husband and it’s only been a month. Better sleep, better productivity and mental health, more energy.
Sigh, hopefully me in a month.

Unfortunately, most insurance policies don't seem to cover it.

Damn. how much did he charge for it?
7.5k absolute waste, I think our fitbits give better results than that
RIP.
You can get it done at any major hospital like Jaslok, Hinduja, HN Reliance etc. It'll cost around 18k in a good hospital.

Please do, 18k and 17k sound like ripoffs to me, considering many parts of the country which are not metros, one can get it done for even 4000 rupees.
I got it done..paid 9k. Consulted a pulmonologist after that and paid her 2.5k. Send DM, will share number of the person who did it for me.
