Nobody has mentioned Shadows yet… It was my first N64 game, OOT was sold out. Shadows will wampa stompa your mind.

dpgproductions

One of my all time favorites on the 64

olympiclifter1991

Mine too, Christmas day, n64 shadows and super Mario. Couldn't get past second level wamps terrified me

TonyTheSwisher

Probably the only Star Wars game I ever seriously played and I absolutely loved it at the time. I remember it was like $74.99 for some reason too.

Parlyz

Yeesh. And that’s with inflation. People nowadays complain about new games being 70$ but at least it’s not THAT bad

Rok-SFG

I bought mine used from showcase video for like 30 bucks. No box no manual just the cartridge, was still so pumped to get it back then.

Verbal_Combat

I remember having trouble with the speeder bike level but it was such a fun game, flying at Hoth, FPS, racing, fighting Boba Fett, great music and a main character called Dash Rendar, a Star Wars masterpiece.

The_Zermanians

The variety in gameplay is what really brought this up a few notches in my book. The Sewer level was brutal to play during the day if it was light out though couldn’t see shit.

SirRonaldBiscuit

I’m honestly surprised no one has made this story into a series or a movie, especially with all the new stuff that’s been coming out. Shadows ties into the original trilogy directly and the whole thing in its entirety is top notch. Fighting ig88 and bobafett…driving a swoop bike…I remember getting the comic book with the action figures back in the day and it was awesome

J3wb0cca

There was a crazy sequence of buttons that you press to unlock the mechanics behind the games physics. I remember my brother having to use both hands and his chin to move the joystick to unlock it. It allows you to mess with the physics, like jumping a mile high which meant if you land anywhere but what’s allowed it was a game reset.

beardedliberal

I remember doing that as well. And yeah, having a third hand would have been very helpful in that regard. Can’t remember if that was also the one that would let you switch to an X wing or a TIE fighter in the last level.

ColdSoup723

I had a blast with those quirky cheats. I think you had to name your save profile something like “wompa stompa” and I would just smash random buttons and it would allow you to control all kinds of other characters like storm troopers, wompas, AT-ST, tie fighters/x wings. Endless fun.

LeeRjaycanz

Shadows was amazing game! (After you got used to the controls)

sooslimtim187

The Slave 1 fight was traumatic as a kid. If I didn’t save my flame thrower rounds I couldn’t beat it.

lepindahood23

Such a great game. If they did a remaster of it I’d be so happy

SirRonaldBiscuit

Yup, shadows is my top choice out of these ones, then rogue squadron and then pod racer.

jewfishh

It was one of my first games and I loved it.

Electrical-Result701

Fun fact; last year, I saw a collector's copy of the game at a gaming exchange. I'll have to make a post about it someday, but it was CIB and had a clear purple shell instead of the standard grey. It was also limited run, but the seller was wanting $90 CAD for it.

dj65475312

this is just a limited run repro, no collectors edition exists.

fshannon3

I managed to score an N64 shortly after they released, and the first two games I purchased were Super Mario World 64 and Shadows of the Empire. Shadows was awesome, especially for the battle with Boba Fett. I remember it being rather expensive at the time too...most I ever spent on a video game. I do believe I paid $90 for it.

SandLuc083_

One of my favorite too

Lindenstream_117

I remember Rogue Squadron being incredible. Haven't played for decades though.

TarTarkus1

I actually played it the other day. I'd say it holds up a lot better than people might think.

Yarder89

Man Rogue Squadron I put hours into this when I was a kid

Bergo_Senpai

Factor5 yay

JHuttIII

Ditto. I remember playing it so hard too. Game play was great, I can only hope it holds up.

Geshtar1

Rogue Squadron was amazing, and definitely pushed the 64 to the limits as far as what the console could do

d4vid1

Pokémon Puzzle League is a banger

[deleted]

Sleeper banger for sure. It's also pretty terrible. But it's fantastic. You know what I mean. Probably.

[deleted]

The Star Wars games are some of my favorite memories with my n64. Hope you have an expansion pack!

mattv2077

Yup! Needed one for Majora’s mask. Even bought myself an official one and they aren’t cheap

[deleted]

Nice! Racer, rouge squadron, and Naboo are great looking games with it shadows was before it came out, but made by the same team that made racer.

Brimstone747

Rogue Squadron is an excellent game.

mattv2077

Is it the best Star Wars n64?

Brimstone747

I would rate it above the others. They are solid games, too. I just always preferred Rogue Squadron.

Ro11ingThund3r

I think so, Shadows is a close second

Flashy-Call-7104

Pokémon puzzle league has been on repeat here since December! I have such intense battles with friends. Hahaha

BDKhXc

Episode 1 racer is dank

tazinator7

Rogue squadron is nice. Just a little bit hard taking down those AT ATs using the tow cable.

gregaries

Defection at Corellia when you have to take down several of them early in the game was a nightmare for me personally.

kreygmu

Honestly out of these the one I'd actually play is Pokémon Puzzle League. They should do a mobile port!

kmassie95

Battle for Naboo and Episode I Racer are bangers. Haven’t played the others, sadly.

mattv2077

I haven’t played any of them also I got puzzle league since it’s the last pokemon game on n64 that I didn’t have

JQueue92

Puzzle League is addictive! Great haul, have fun!

kmassie95

Gotcha! Hope you enjoy them. The N64 is one of my favorite consoles, ever.

olympiclifter1991

Get a go on rogue squadron like battel for naboo but better

Cephalopirate

I liked Naboo more! Played them back to back a couple months ago.

olympiclifter1991

Both brilliant games! I loved the variety in naboo but always thought that rogue squadron just had slightly more memorable missions. Destroying the gas pods in cloud city and the falcon showing up to help on corrella where standout moments

Cephalopirate

Yeah! I agree with that take. :3

rhythmrice

Dude i didnt have a memory card and shadows of the empire was so hard to try to beat, i used to play it alll the time. I think the farthest i ever got was the 2nd speeder bike level

Jojo-Action

Fantastic. Every time I see a n64 collection I'm shocked how few people have played pokemon puzzle league. It's so fucking good

mattv2077

But Pokémon snap and the stadium games

Jojo-Action

Those games are fantastic and pokemon snap is my favorite video game but I see a lot more people who own those than puzzle league.

URA_CJ

Nice, you now have all the Star Wars games in time for May the 4th!

Nikolateslaandyou

Shadows of the empire is an absolute classic. My first n64 game and one of my all time faves. Hell im gonna boot up my everdrive now and play it

jcstrat

Puzzle league is my go-to. Infinite replay ability. I haven’t played pod racer since it came out but I remember really enjoying it and have been on the lookout for it. Nice haul.

Prog_metal_guy

Saturn fans love to mention Baku Baku as the prime chain reaction puzzle game (and it's indeed a great game), but alongside some Puyo Puyo games, Pókemon Puzzle League is ultra fun.

AmyRoseMyPants

Great finds! I have rogue one and puzzle league too. Is the pod racer any good? I remember enjoying a version of that For playstation I think. I was really young when I played it though

UnderpantsGnome917

Played waaaaaay too many hours of episode 1 racer as a kid. Great game!

joy3r

rogue squadron was quality

Recon_X_Jumper

Shadows of the empire is one of my favorites! And battle for Naboo is amazing!

Solasta713

Rogue Squadron and Ep.1 Podracer are incredible games. I still play Podracer to this day on the Switch

MercuREEEEEEE

Rogue squadron is one of my favorites. I still play it as it’s available on steam now for pc. Also I can’t remember any content from shadows of the empire but vividly remember it sucking

DukistNyte

Wow mate just wow, this is terrific. As someone who has finished building their ps2 collection and wants to get a new old console youve sealed the deal for me coz I wasn’t sure what to choose between this and a GameCube! I’ve decided n64 it is!!

mattv2077

I bought a modded GameCube and just play the emulators. Decided against going for a GameCube collection due to the super high prices and disc rot. I just really like cartridges and the N64 has a lot of great games

agrowander16

Many memories of Shadows of the Empire 👍

ciarandevlin182

How do you have so many games, yet haven't played some if the most popular games of that generation?

mattv2077

Haven’t gotten around to the Star Wars games yet and puzzle league is the last pokemon game for the system I needed. Already have and beaten the other 4.

johneldridge

ROGUE SQUADRON is the bees knees.

Vunpuruurufu

StarWars Racer on N64 is ass, if compared to something like F-Zero X. But part of the charm with the Nintendo 64, are the terrible but actually playable racing games.

Pleasant-Put5305

Rogue squadron is brilliant, it also supports the RAM pack for a big resolution boost.

JHuttIII

Shadows of the Empire is the only real story based game of these, and is just on a dent level from the others. It’s incredible.

DarkKeyPuncher

One of these things is not like the others

adskeee

My brother and I still play Pokémon puzzle. Sick game 2 player.

fatalis357

Shadows was the first game I bought, so much nostalgia and so much fun!

Confident_Respect455

I only played Shadows, Racer and Rogue squadron. All are excellent. Shadows is one of the first console releases and was the first time players had the “feeling” of actually being in the Hoth battle. And there is a level that takes 50 min to beat.

Grouchy_Ad_2236

You never played pod racer? Get ready to cuss a lot.

ProjectsAreFun

Rogue Squadron was the first 64 game I ever owned. Best Christmas ever.

y0zh1

Shadows of the Empire is my all time favorite Star Wars game, no other comes even close to its awesomeness.

Hand_banana_boi

Racer was one of my childhood favorites. I recently just replayed it since you can get it on PlayStation and Xbox now, and it still very much holds up.

SadCamel8370

SOTE is a bangerrrr

KingLoCoKev

Shadows of the empire = my first n64 game, and one of my faves!

Schwitz18

Episode 1 Racer still one of my all time favourite games, N64 StarWars games are fantastic. Carts look like they're in great condition too!

borb86

I would start with Shadows. It shows its age but is still SO good and only gets better as you progress. Rogue squadron is also a really fun one.

Alarming_Dream_7837

Rogue Squadron 🤤 🤤 🤤

Amazing-Insect442

Those are all good, to varying degrees. Rogue Squadron especially. It’s a bit dated in some ways, but was outstanding in its day. I’d wager PodRacer holds up well. The N64 is underrated as a puzzle game system too, btw.

mcneo_de_juan

Shadows of the empire was so fun.

Sneakking_

The pokemon game I know nothing about but all 4 of those starwars games are hot fire. Battle of Naboo and Rogue Squadron play very similarly, with naboo having a few levels that are essentially just land vehicles instead of flying space ships.

Uerwol

Beware that sewer level on shadows of the empire will haunt your dreams. The boss monster in there I had to stop playing when it came on. Absolutely horrifying.

rastacurse

So before this you had 69??? Ruined…

BeagleBaggins

Loved all three of the Star Wars games but Battle for Naboo is kind of a hidden gem. Loved flying around!

fretnetic

I believe I have Shadows and Rogue Squadron…. good memories of playing Shadows on the small kitchen crt at Xmas time circa 1997. 🙏 Got up to gall spaceport and spent hours honing about those ledges. Very immersive/evocative game!

theblackxranger

Good star wars games

The_Cozy_Burrito

I have so many hours in episode 1 racer and shadows of the empire

Depressedmillennials

So many hours lost to Rogue Squadron as a kid lmao. Loved all those games in the pic :) However, I just played Shadows on an emulator for the first time. That game is unforgiving as hell 😂

gregaries

That’s a great haul. I loved the bottom three a ton. I never played Battle for Naboo or Puzzle League but wanted to real bad. Shadows is great but a real challenge imo, my 9-10 year old self couldn’t beat it when it first came out past the IG-88 boss fight on Ord Mantell. I did beat it later on when I grew up more and it deserves a lot more love than I see it ever getting.

gypsy-ghost

Beware the monster that lurks in the waters in the sewer level of Shadows of the Empire... Used to freak me out as a kid

fartbox2222

I’ve only played pod racers. Need to try out the others

AromaticMarketing462

Shadows of the empire is amazing

Ok_Fox_1770

Yea shadows of empire is worth about 5 minutes of your life now. Back then it was new and very Limited 3-d starwars landscapes, explored it painfully. Podracer ain’t bad tho. Make ya feel like a drunk.

Ewokhunters

Really like all 5 of those

P_O_Double

Shadows of the Empire is awesome, enjoy!

mattv2077

I will when I get time thanks! Haven’t played these since I’ve got work but hopefully Sunday

ButtersLeopold09

Rogue squadron: "chicken"

Ro11ingThund3r

Rogue Squadron was my childhood. Shadows of the empire is awesome too

Codeman785

Pod racer and rogue squadron are great games

TargetWifty

Shadows of the Empire and SW Racer are some of my favourites on N64

alvarorivasboza

You’ll enjoy Rogue Squadron for sure, I’m loving it. Shadows is hard af, it was one of the games my parents bought me and my siblings for Christmas 98 (along with Super Mario 64 and Mario Party). Couldn’t even pass the second level 😂

outpost7

What r u 10? 20?

BananielDiamonds

shadow of the empire is extra fun in first person mode

ParadiseRegaind

Love all those Star Wars games… but on the PC. Recently collected big box copies of 3 of the 4 of them. Just looking for Shadows CiB.

FireflyArc

Oh puzzle league is very fun

RubberDuckie42O

I have fond memories of Episode 1 Racer and Rogue Squadron. Man, thank you. I haven’t thought of these games in years. I need to search them out

Walrus-Cold

Rouge Squad is peak ngl

Nismotech_52

I have hours of game play on battle of Naboo and episode 1 racer

S1amP1unk

Make sure you go for the hidden difficulties in Puzzle League! Very Hard & Super Hard… harder than Tetris Attack for SNES for sure. One of my all time favs

Ok-Remove3693

Shadows>

an0therFate

Shadows was fun af… but it was also hard af

ben_ja_button

World Driver Championship.

cliquealex

Rogue Squadron was such a beautiful memory — once my father took me to the second-hand market and I saw it, A NINTENDO 64 GAME! IN MEXICO! (mind you, this must have been 2010/2011, so these were already quite rare), I asked my father to buy it for me and I got so excited when he accepted, I had SO much fun with this game and so many memories made with it, after I lost my console I never touched it again, however I know I might cry if I do, it was such a fun and entertaining game to me, I hope I can pick it up again sometime!

Friendly_Echidna_260

Rogue Squadron is the best game you've got there. Start with that first! It's easily a top 5 game for me. Shadows of the Empire is pretty good to. A little wonky in some parts but overall a fun time.

JeddHawk

Racer is one of the best with 2 or 3 of the worst levels in gaming.

HyrulianAvenger

Played the crap out of 3 of those

Manic_Mini

Shadows of the empire needs to be made into a movie.

TenPent

Man, I want another rogue squadron like that.

Geshtar1

One of these is not like the other

OffTheObolisk

how’s that pokémon puzzle game ?

Lit_Flash

god damn rogue squadron was so freaking good

Long-Reception5258

Shadows of the Empire is excellent.

gotrings

Puzzle league can be crazy hard for no reason

Kwilburn525

Yikes how old are you? Guess you didn’t grow up in the 90s

mattv2077

I was born in 1993.

Kwilburn525

Idk maybe cause i was into Star Wars as a kid but I played all 4 of those around 2000-2002 when I was 6-8
