yessir, the Forman! kind of a shitbox, but it’s designed by Bertone, the same firm behind a whole lot of incredible cars, like Lamborghini’s Countach and Miura
Then I must own the wrong Volvo, otherwise it be "Valvo", would it not?
Or is it pronounced "Volva"? Which sounds amazingly close to a certain part of a woman's body.
I can hear Ricardo Monteban describing the car even now:
"The new 2024 Vulva, with a rich Corinthian Leather interior that would even please my sidekick 'Baboon '.
Škoda has always sold well in the UK. I have fond memories of being driven to after-school clubs in a 120LSE of a friend's father. He was an engineer in the RAF and loved them for the quality of its engineering. I always wanted a Favorit, I love the styling. I've owned a Felicia with the Škoda ohc cam engine. It was bomb proof. We currently have an Octavia Scout, which, despite its VW parts-bin nature, still somehow retains the Škoda DNA in its personality. If I ever have the spare cash I'd love to own a 120 S Rallye, a Favorit, a type 922 Rapid with the aerodynamic body, a Garde, a 1202 Combi, a 1200 saloon and a 1201 combi. Just need a lottery win!
now that’s a damn good selection of Škodas.
and yeah, I know what you mean by the Škoda DNA - newest one I’ve driven was a ~2021 Kamiq, and it still feels like a Škoda
How many left is MASSIVELY inaccurate. It's a completely pointless website at this point. I trust it about as much as I trust my three year old when I ask if he's washed his hands after going to the bathroom.
I love all these old Skoda, Peugeot, Renault type estates. Never see them in the US obviously, but these are some of my favorite types of cars.
505 Estate is the closest I can get for a USDM car. Some day.
You’ve got a better chance than I do. I’ve been infatuated with mostly French cars in the last few years, and that’s not very compatible or economical as someone who lives in the US lol.
Yeahhh, hard thing for me is that I love old american muscle - it’s quite the combo, I know. thing is, finding a nice older muscle car out here is damn near impossible.
Nice example of mid 90' Škoda Forman. One time they were everywhere, but today they're rare. Corosion eat them. Today Formans are less common than it's shorter version Favorit as they had much tougher life due to beeing spatious and having low running cost. 2nd and 3rd owners used them as cheap work vehicles until they fall appart.
My parents had a favorit estate and then a Felicia in the late 90s/early 00s they were absolutely the toughest most reliable cars they’ve ever had.
I always hated them because of Skodas image back then but honestly I’d rock one as a daily

I spotted one 10 years ago - and even back then there weren’t many left! The “Flairline” and GLXie trim caught my eye.
Uh, yeah, never seen one in the states. Probably never will. Closest we came to getting one was the Yugo. That was a mistake back in the mid-late 80's.
Isn’t there a FPV GT rspec in the UK. I know there’s a YouTuber with an AU. And that you guys also got falcons as funeral car conversions. But they seem rare as. Considering they’re cheaper than HSV’s only issue is parts
skoda favorit wagon/estate or whatever the body style was called

Wasn't the Volvo 262c, also known as "The Brick"?
I think most Volvos were known as bricks.
The "A" in Volvo stands for aerodynamic.
Then I must own the wrong Volvo, otherwise it be "Valvo", would it not? Or is it pronounced "Volva"? Which sounds amazingly close to a certain part of a woman's body. I can hear Ricardo Monteban describing the car even now: "The new 2024 Vulva, with a rich Corinthian Leather interior that would even please my sidekick 'Baboon '.
That’s the joke. There is no “A”.
I know... I was just adding to it...:)
I can attest to that. I'm a not-so-proud owner of a 2005 Volvo S60 2T, which has been nothing short of a money pit.
If a Volvo ever came with rich Corinthian leather, it would be the 262c
The "c" stands for corinthian leather.
Ricardo Monteban's lawyer would like a word with you about infringing on his copyrighted phrase "Rich Corinthian Leather".
You take that back right now
Actually the 262c was built by berline not designed. It was actually designed in house.
Whose house? Ricardo Monteban's ?
It was common 30 years ago. Skoda Favorit Estate.
was it actually? (i’m from czech republic, back home these are damn near everywhere - this is the first time i’ve seen one here in the uk)
Common car at the time, though not as common as the 105/120s or Estelle as it was called here.
Oh I didn’t even know they sold the 105s in the uk

My sister had a rapide back in the 90s

Most of them rusted away, like many cars from the mid-90's.
Many rock stars rusted away, too, like Neil Young.
5 left on the road apparently as active vehicles: https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?q=Skoda+favorit+estate+
Not everywhere, haven't seen it at all recently its all being replaced by newer cars. Its rly rare to see this one especially
There are just 5 taxed for the road in the UK https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/browse/skoda/skoda_skoda_favorit
Damn, okay! i didn’t realize they were just that uncommon over here! like i said in another comment these things are everywhere back in czech republic
Oh I would like a page like this for Czech republic.
How many left is MASSIVELY inaccurate. It's a completely pointless website at this point. I trust it about as much as I trust my three year old when I ask if he's washed his hands after going to the bathroom.

man i love these things, believe me.
You’ve got a better chance than I do. I’ve been infatuated with mostly French cars in the last few years, and that’s not very compatible or economical as someone who lives in the US lol.

ČESKOOOOO
ČESKO TYVOLEEEEEEEEEE
Is that the new rivian R3?
Sure is. I’ll source you one for half price
oh definitely yes
Looks like the car I drew in 2nd grade.

asi tak, no. furt je vidím doma v Česku ale též už min a min.
My parents had a favorit estate and then a Felicia in the late 90s/early 00s they were absolutely the toughest most reliable cars they’ve ever had. I always hated them because of Skodas image back then but honestly I’d rock one as a daily
honestly same here, especially back home - they’re cheap, they’re easy to get parts for, and they definitely are a car hahahaha
Sweet ride
Skoda Favorit, and they were quite common here in the UK in the 90's.
https://preview.redd.it/4q486dstekxc1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a6e76a81196d3f5ed7ff399f837bef1f2af8352 I spotted one 10 years ago - and even back then there weren’t many left! The “Flairline” and GLXie trim caught my eye.
I don’t think i’ve ever seen one of this trim, wow!
What do you call a Skoda with a sunroof? A skip. Ahhh, memories of school and the Ladas and Skodas we used to laugh at.
Used to be common. Not now though
Mannnn.... I'm a sucker for a wagon.
Same, there’s just something about them that makes me swoon
Škoda Favorit
Skoda
Škoda Favorit. This was nice car to me in 80s when I saw front for the first time in auto newspaper
Is it weird that I know exactly where that is from that picture alone?
The people on this sub figured out where I am from the other picture I put up, not even surprised anymore hahaha
It used to be.
Uh, yeah, never seen one in the states. Probably never will. Closest we came to getting one was the Yugo. That was a mistake back in the mid-late 80's.
Clean V70s are getting to be quite rare here in the states as well.
Magic blue one at that, love that colour.
Anyone want Saturns back too ?
Not common, but it’s a proper car. Unlike modern stuff
Isn’t there a FPV GT rspec in the UK. I know there’s a YouTuber with an AU. And that you guys also got falcons as funeral car conversions. But they seem rare as. Considering they’re cheaper than HSV’s only issue is parts
That is fugly.
I absolutely agree but i can’t help but love these things
Lada Samara wagon?
Skoda Felicia estate
