It looks like a pretty similar shooting motion (legs kicking forward) as his three just before this though, what do you think?

That usually depends on how theyāre taking the shot.
If a defender does not move forward on a contest then they canāt be called for a foul. Offensive player doesnāt have the right to jump forward and expect a foul call.
I get wym but players canāt be expected to not be in front of a player. A lot of times you do go forwards but if youāre going forward youāre going into the defenders space and to make that illegal would be really silly
His right foot either got caught on Schroder's foot or he stuck it out on the last second. This is a bad angle and maybe another angle shows it better on why refs didn't call anything
Yeah you can clearly see him reaching his foot out. He was trying to make contact on AD's foot on the way down and didn't realize Shroder's foot was right there as well which fucked up his plan.
He jumps from behind the 3pt line and extends his leg towards Schroder's foot trying to bait a call. Garbage like this is exactly why the rule was changed cause foul baiting 3s was ruining the NBA.
You got some nerve complaining about Ja not getting a foul after that game. Man just barrels into the lane out of control, flails and gets 2 free throws every time.
Get ready to learn to read buddy.
https://www.thejustice.org/article/2021/11/the-nbas-new-foul-rules-and-how-they-are-changing-the-game
> With some players in the 2020-2021 season having almost a third to half of their points come from free throws, these new rules have taken a toll on their scoring numbers. Furthermore, as defenders can afford to be more aggressive guarding these players, scoring in general has seen some reduction especially from beyond the three point line where the most egregious foul-baiting attempts used to take place.
>
> **These foul-baiting attempts should also help offensive players play safer, as the whole reason behind calling fouls on shooters is to prevent them from getting injured, but as players are voluntarily throwing themselves onto people for a foul, there are heightened levels of risk. There are instances where players intentionally jump onto the person guarding them in the hopes of drawing a foul only to land on their foot and roll their ankle.**
I'm surprised so many comments are talking about a leg kick. It wasn't even on my mind until I came to the comments.
As far as leg kicks go, this is very minimal.
I said it was minimal, I didn't say there was none. There's another clip posted of Ja making a three where he landed just inside the three point line - this really wasn't that different. Some movement happens.
If I was showing someone an example of a player doing a leg kick.... I would not pick this clip.
I looked for it since Ja is a foul merchant and sure enough, he goes forwards. I am also used to looking for natural shooting motion and all that since the Kings will pick up fouls against these kind of players that are flailing.
If you notice they are all Lakers fans saying that. Definitely was a minimal leg kick and he didnāt jump that far forward. Iāve seen this called either way though to be honest.
Ja Morant whistle in the playoffs is unmatched. The Timberwolves fan can attest to that. Ja's whistle in the playoffs makes Joel Embiid's whistle look like Jokic/Lebron/Steph level whistle in comparison
I think theyāre finally onto his bullshit and not giving him that call anymore. He shot that three with no forward momentum but still puts a foot down inside the 3pt line, so itās super obvious to the refs he is putting his legs out trying to make contact after shooting because they have the 3pt line as a frame of reference.
In slo-mo itās super obvious and itās embarrassing he was getting these and1 calls for so long, because the defender is doing nothing wrong and just jumping up and coming down in the same spot.
I don't care.
I don't hate anyone, I just uploaded a highlight.
As much as they cheered when I uploaded their team's highlights, they should also understand that I upload highlights of the other team as well.
The same goes for the Grizzlies fans.
So, it is all good.
Bro he isnāt even talking about whether or not this changes the game or not. Heās just saying this is a clear foul and if it happened to a Laker it would be a flagrant 1.
People were already establishing the idea the series was rigged and talking about FTs before the series began. Now dude whining they aint review it when theres nothing to review.
[https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-free-throw-attempts-per-game-by-team-2007](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-free-throw-attempts-per-game-by-team-2007) do you think the nba was looking to give an advantage to the 06-07 kings lmao
By the way, I didn't mean to judge with the title I wrote.
I only described what happened, as I always tend to do with my titles of my highlights.
I know it sounds otherwise, but if you know me and my uploads (and titles) from the past, then you know that's how I do things.
It's the same reason I tend to post highlights of both teams.
Cheers.
I'm used to it by now, no problem. \^\_\^
I'm just uploading a highlight here with multi-languages (LeBron James' reverse dunk).
Just waiting for it to be uploaded on Streamable before posting it here (I had to make it a tiny bit shorter by 4 seconds due to 250 MB limit, since the original file is 272 MB), so you could have it without any ads due to Copyrights.
Also, I had to reduce a tiny tiny bit of the quality in order to get it into Streamable (file size).
It will take about 10 minutes until I can post it here with a Streamable link.
[Here is a spoiler from the video I uploaded to Youtube (full).](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=terFSjO3r7g)
Jumping forward on a jumper is called a sweep and sway and most good shooters do it. However, This is an exaggerated motion and isnāt natural at all. His right foot goes forward way too much. If you saw him practicing jumpers, I doubt that his right foot would fly forward so much .He was most likely seeking contact here with his foot. Great no call.
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Any other actual angles where you can see what is happening? They keep showing the same dogshit camera angle
Yeah, can't tell if ja's feet drift to the side or not
Yeah the replay just turns it into a 2D plane...can't tell what is going on.
he definitely stuck his right foot out https://imgur.com/a/sIn2tVl
It looks like a pretty similar shooting motion (legs kicking forward) as his three just before this though, what do you think? https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/12vvu7o/highlight_ja_morant_makes_mark_jones_say_the_fish/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1
He's already falling on the right side though. His leg would naturally extend as he went down. Show the launch and landing
Which pixel is what?
Dennis is inside the 3 point line lol
So is AD š¤·š½āāļø
Not a natural kick out with the legs he was trying to draw the foul
https://imgur.com/a/HTBMnh3/ yeah you can see him go forward.
Donāt mean to be condescending but have you ever shot a basketball? You donāt go straight up and down, you always jump forward naturally
Uh thatās not true for everyone. People shoot jumpers differently.
Most good jump shooters move forward on a jump shot tho
That usually depends on how theyāre taking the shot. If a defender does not move forward on a contest then they canāt be called for a foul. Offensive player doesnāt have the right to jump forward and expect a foul call.
I get wym but players canāt be expected to not be in front of a player. A lot of times you do go forwards but if youāre going forward youāre going into the defenders space and to make that illegal would be really silly
You naturally go forward on most jump shots though. Still deserves a clear landing spot.
His right foot either got caught on Schroder's foot or he stuck it out on the last second. This is a bad angle and maybe another angle shows it better on why refs didn't call anything
That's what they showed in this broadcast. I was upset about this as well.
Yeah you can clearly see him reaching his foot out. He was trying to make contact on AD's foot on the way down and didn't realize Shroder's foot was right there as well which fucked up his plan.
That is not reaching his foot outā¦ at all
He was awesome in the 4th but heād gone full on foul merchant mode for the first 3 quarters. Just flopping like fish.
Heās fine
in the west
What youāre doing is sad
He jumps from behind the 3pt line and extends his leg towards Schroder's foot trying to bait a call. Garbage like this is exactly why the rule was changed cause foul baiting 3s was ruining the NBA.
Also Bane tech had nothing to do with this. He goes confront Reaves for absolutely no reason.
Bane still salty that Reaves drained that game winner on his face back in college.
Easy no call, don't stick your leg out
Yeah, surprised he didnāt get this call considering he was flopping to the rim all night long and getting rewarded.
Yeah, Iāll give Ja credit for trying to will the team, but he was aggravating to watch cause of the foul baiting.
Literally pushed Vanderbilt over a few plays before this and still got free throws. Stop it
You got balls for posting this
Looks like he jumps forward?
His right foot strays forward. Thatās not a natural landing
Yeah. His feet literally on the Line as he land. https://twitter.com/search?q=ja%20&src=typed\_query&f=video
Definitely not back.
You got some nerve complaining about Ja not getting a foul after that game. Man just barrels into the lane out of control, flails and gets 2 free throws every time.

Look at your teamās free throw differentialā¦
Lakers aint a 3pt shooting team, they mostly play in the inside
Maybe they shouldn't foul as much, and the Lakers wouldn't have taken so many freethrows?
Folded like a lawn chair trying to get the call. Good no call
In the replay seems like Dennis does a second hop into jaās path. Usually that second hop to get closer is what triggers the call.
This is why I wanted another angle, his landing spot literally changed when he jumped and when he landed.
1. Ja kicks out his leg forward. If that's a foul it's an offensive one. 2. Why is he in the game with 1 minute left down 10? Dumb coaching.
Tbh, 10 isn't a safe lead for today's NBA even with only a minute left.
A 4 possession lead with 1 minute to go isn't a safe lead? lol
Didn't the Lakers blow a 10 point lead to the Jazz with like 80 seconds left?
Hell, the Lakers forced OT by erasing a 9-point deficit to the Sixers with **30 seconds** remaining
#They can't keep getting away with it!
I'm surprised so many comments are talking about a leg kick. It wasn't even on my mind until I came to the comments. As far as leg kicks go, this is very minimal.
Schroeder is literally on the inside of the three point line.

Cry about it
The only real foul on Ja all night
Ja Morant whistle in the playoffs is unmatched. The Timberwolves fan can attest to that. Ja's whistle in the playoffs makes Joel Embiid's whistle look like Jokic/Lebron/Steph level whistle in comparison
Yeah, itās tough but they just gotta play through it.
Ref was looking too
I think theyāre finally onto his bullshit and not giving him that call anymore. Austin Reaves would get that call lmao
flop
Should have been Austin Reaves if he wanted that call
Complaining about Jaās whistle is unreal what more could you want he gets every call
Temetrius: 14 free throws tonight Reaves: 3 free throws tonight
Canāt quantify the platinum whistle with FTA
Reaves barely gets calls nowadays lol
Itās so weird how Reaves started getting a superstar whistle after the all star break itāll never make sense to me.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
He was top 20 in FTA post all-star
oh boy, you've got these lakers fans in their feelings with this one.
I don't care. I don't hate anyone, I just uploaded a highlight. As much as they cheered when I uploaded their team's highlights, they should also understand that I upload highlights of the other team as well. The same goes for the Grizzlies fans. So, it is all good.
With replays!!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Can't believe the script writers only gave the Grizzlies 9 points in the first
Thereās no way on earth this isnāt reviewed if this happens to a Laker
And here come the grizzlie fans crying about refs. Crazy how the refs caused yall to start slow and make the ft discrepancy so low :/
It's not a flagrant, let alone a foul.
Didnāt say it was flagrant. Just saying if LeBron, AD or Reaves (of all people) are shooting that, itās a flagrant 1 every time.
Pretty easily.
I dont think this is a team issue, this is a refs issue. Lakers also got a lot of fouls that didnt get called for.
If Steph did this shit, y'all would say "hE eXtEnDeD hIs lEg.".
You cry like a wuss
can't begin to explain how insanely upvoted this would be (and posted 20 minutes earlier) if it had happened to literally anyone on the Lakers
lakers fans literally have zero right to ever complain about refs, shit is digusting at this point
Ironic coming from a team with two of the biggest floppers in the league
You guys shot 200 more free throws than the next closest team this yearā¦
[https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-free-throw-attempts-per-game-by-team-2007](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-free-throw-attempts-per-game-by-team-2007) do you think the nba was looking to give an advantage to the 06-07 kings lmao
every star in the league flops, stop the whataboutism https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Czq4NN0la6w
>every star in the league flops, stop the whataboutism Ironic again from someone trying to make a false dilemma argument in their OP LOL
being deliberately obtuse but ok
Why cause Morant was foul baiting? Lol, please
You see Reaves flopping today?
How many free throws did he and Ja have?
Reaves is your 4th option Jas left hand is our only
Bruh he had 3 fts today wtf are you even arguing about
Fitting for a 4th option. The fallacy your talking about is false equivalency
*youāre Youāre complaining about a guy getting 3 fts when your star player was getting free throws for pushing people over. Absolute clown š¤”
When you critic the grammar of a drunk guy you've lost
*critique
Yeah almost made up for the 10 phantom calls Moront got.
Nah. You're just a hater. Clear as day he tried to draw the foul

Itās not that important bro

I'm feeling good.
All good, you spoke your truth and the masses disagreed. Onto the next highlight.

Sleepless nights?
Cringe try hard title and post
Is there a better angle?
Doesnāt look like he rolled anything. Look at his feet as he lands
