I read the title first as “StarFox Guard …”
Which also is pretty neat. I had to stream the OKC broadcast, and honestly just wondering if any OKC fans find this comment: How do yall feel about your announcers? First time hearing them, and was also doing house work so didn’t hear the whole game.
They're fine. Nothing special but could be worse, definitely some level of homer takes but don't hate them imo. Have the same question about you guys with your announcers, was watching the king's broadcast and had the game muted by the end lol
They’re fine as well. I will say they’re both pretty new at it, and they are both notably better than last year, so I think they both have room to grow.
Also, we have Mark Jones on the call instead of Kyle Draper about half the time, when he doesn’t have other commitments.
They're not good. Kyle Draper tries so hard but says nonsensical stuff. I think last year he said someone was, "heating up like fine wine!" And Kayte is nice to look at but she talks about random stuff besides what's happening in the game a lot. When Mark Jones announces, he has to talk over her a lot to say what's actually happening in the game because she's off on some tangent.
I wish we had different announcers. I usually tune into the away stream. Our announcers aren’t the absolute worst, at least we don’t have the warriors announcers. But i wish we had the hornets or pelicans announcers. We had a chance to hire Antonio Daniels and instead we let him go to NO. So dumb. So yeah, not good, not the worst. But wish we had different ones.
I actually felt good after this game. Sure I would love to have won, but if we can play a really good team on the road like this despite several of our key players having awful games and the other team shooting *significantly* better than us, I think it bodes well for the future.
Absolutely, the flexibility he brings is a game changer. With Fox drawing so much attention, having guys who can capitalize on that spacing is crucial. Plus, his defense doesnt just drop off when hes tasked with bigger assignments.
This. Huerter is like monk, streaky but maybe a role with similar minutes but less pressure will do it for him. We need Keon’s defense too.
Sasha once he gets to game speed tempo (sometimes I feel like he’s too passive since he’s not very familiar with the Princeton style offense the Kings run) I think will torch up the league.
I disagree, scoring wise monk especially this year is consistent, but when it comes to passing and defense when he’s off Monk is a loose cannon. Both are inconsistent in different ways, but Monk’s consistency on scoring when the team needs scoring (we can only outscore opponents) means that Monk has seen the floor way more than Huerter this season.
This lines up perfectly as (it appears) GS will regress to the mean, while the Kings last year climbed out of our two decade hibernation and now getting back up to speed.
It is not a coincidence that when Queen Elizabeth decided to Alt-F4, we were back on the menu
Making the ASG in the West as a backcourt player is going to be a beast of a task. SGA, Fox, Luka, Booker, Ja, Ant could arguably hold those spots for the next 5 years. Then you got guys like Trey Murphy, Vassell, Bane, and Murray all waiting for someone to slip up.
Yeah we have one real wing in Keegan. The team needs to make a move to get another at least playable wing and maybe a PF with some size as well. I’d love to get Collins from the Jazz if the price is right
Collins has been horrible on both sides of the ball. Pretty sure Lauri's been better than him on that end as well so wouldn't it make more sense to try and get Lauri?
The Kings simply don't have the assets to get Lauri. We'd need to trade Keegan and practically our entire future to even have a chance at Lauri, and he doesn't even fix our biggest issues.
I honestly think OKC should go for him. He fits perfectly on paper and they have the assets
Yeah jdub had a stinker and Chet missed 2 rly good looks in the end. Can’t be mad at sga for chucking because no one else was hitting. Is okay. Onto the next.
Agreed, lot of iffy calls that favoured OKC, but a lot of SGA's calls were earned and sabonis got away with some straight up two hand shoves on Chet on his "rebounds"
I’m convinced the play in was a fluke, they have our number like a mf in the regular season. Just like you guys. I’m hoping to avoid both you guys and Minnesota if we make the playoffs.
Give me the Mavs, the Clippers or the Lakers in the first round please. I would also say Warriors but they aren’t even a play in team rn and it looks like the wheels are coming off.
Refs have always hated Fox ever since his rookie year. Dude plays the right way tho, never ever flops and calls out other players who do (ie Chris Paul, Jordan Poole, etc.)
I'm still confused by that over turned foul.. I've always thought you can't make any contact, even insignificant contact, with a shooter during a shot.
Yea, I think we all assumed they would take the foul off of Dort and switch it to Chet, he had his forearm on Fox's back basically the entire shooting motion. That gets called all the time
Seemed like they actually implemented some of the points in this game. That guy was not calling us bad but pointing out that our game gone away from an efficient paint game to a ton more middy shots which are inefficient.
Naw he was very on point im just being sassy. But I do think small sample size against tough competition influence the argument 😤 also I’m
Too drunk to be arguing this
Fox needs to play more angrily, he turns it up another level when he does.
Continues to stay one of the least respected players in the NBA, fan wise and also officiated wise. I don’t think I’ve seen a player get hit and mauled as much as him.
Fox is a lowkey person and player who’s a big local supporter and family man, he doesn’t go out of his way to do endorsements unless it’s local (he’s in local ads but that’s it), pop up on national podcasts unless it’s local (he and Recee showed up to Deuce and Mo, the most popular Kings podcast), nor does he do outside stuff like stream games and all that since he has to take care of his newborn.
For example, why do you think it took him like 3 years to finally sign with Curry and Under Armour after Nike didn’t renew his contract? He could have signed with a company right away, especially of his caliber, but didn’t.
Does that hurt his popularity nationally? Yes, that’s why players like Tyrese are so popular, but Fox could care less about that.
Dude is living the life right now and I’m glad he isn’t making himself someone he isn’t, although I just wish he gets more respect and people realize he’s a top player in this league with great character.
Remember his tweet “I thought the players were supposed to decide the games, not the refs”. Bro really dislikes the refs in the league I’m surprised the league doesn’t have a conspiracy against him known publicly like Scott Foster and Chris Paul.
> Tyler Ford
Has the same last name of the company who were first to mass produce an automobile - an activity where you need to be diligent and scanning the roadway for hazard
Then: Picks a career where being blind is a prerequisite
Make it make sense
With Steven Adams out, the player I've heard other players remark on their raw strength is Sabonis.
He outplayed Chet tonight in all facets, and it's worth keeping an eye on to see if Chet struggles against centers who feature strength.
OKC could probably use a big bruiser. Chet reminds me more of an AD type defender than a Gobert. Someone that can dominate the game defensively if he's not forced into 1v1 physical battles.
I’m honestly surprised Giddey could do what he did in the second half considering everything the guy is going through. And I’m more surprised at how bad J-Dub looked.
Gg, hope we both make the playoffs but don’t play eachother
Kings are a terrible matchup for OKC. They just kill the Thunder every time with their speed and shooting. I have zero idea what Mark was thinking benching Wiggins for the entire second half.
I don't expect any of his middies to miss, they're so effortless and smooth. It's cool to have two star point guards who plays best inside the 3 point line
Lot of smiles and hype in OKC land. Imo we havent beat a good team with a dominant center besides the Lakers (second night b2b) and really have played badly against all good teams. We win games we should. Theres still an evident hump we need to get over. But I've never seen JDub play that poorly sheesh. Wont happen again.
Every game we lose, we get absolutely battered on the boards. We often get doubled in rebounds in our losses, and we’ve still been competitive in every game apart from that early season stinker against Denver.
We **NEED** a big forward who can body up guys like Sabonis since it’s pretty clear Chet just can’t right bang for rebounds at this point in time. Based off of our projected draft range, and assuming Houston will fall off, we’ll probably have pick ~10.
I think Izan Almansa is a dream fit with us, particularly next to Chet. I don’t think he’s going to be an all star or anything, but I think he will excel as a defensive minded play finisher who has really good touch around the rim. Not sure if he’s a year one starter, but I think he’ll be really good.
I’d also like to take Filipkowski with the Clippers pick assuming it’s late teens/early twenties.
It was classic ref ball. Thunder got a better whistle in the first half so the refs were trying to make up for it in the second half but Daigneault used his challenges to perfection.
I flinched watching him slide neck-first into the stanchion trying to draw an offensive foul (looked like he got whiplash!) and then he got up and tried to draw a charge on the same possession like damn man… chill
Great game. Really fun watching SGA and Fox together on the court doing their thing. I think a lot of the frustration from Kings fans is misdirected towards SGA/Thunder but is really just the culmination of being disrespected by refs for over a decade. It sucks to see Fox consistently not getting the same whistle other stars do, regardless of whether we win or not. Thunder are still my #2 team and I will continue to root for them outside of our games!
Refs absolutely punching the air that we won this game. What a battle between Fox and SGA.... those dudes are amazing.
Hope Fox's shoulder is a non issue.
And now he’s averaging 7.5 free throw attempts while once again leading the league in driving at 21 attempts per game, 3 more drives per game than the second place guy. Ethical buckets
Missed the game due to work and just now finally got to watch it. What a game! Great win for us, but man, I really like watching OKC play too... just a really impressive and improving young team. Absolute masterclass performances from Fox and SGA. Honestly they're both top 10 players in the league rn. At this point, I'm seriously considering rooting for the Thunder as my second western conference team for the year (when they're not playing the Kings, naturally) who I would like to see kill it in the playoffs as well. You guys have great fans, too! The small market rise has begun!
GG. Off nights from Wallace and especially from JDub hurt. JWill did well, and it was nice to see Giddey with a bounce back game where he looked aggressive instead of just looking to pass every time he had the ball. Excellent usage of challenges from Diagonal.

Fox vs SGA was awesome. There were a few minute-long stretches in this game that was nothing but them trading buckets.
I read the title first as “StarFox Guard …” Which also is pretty neat. I had to stream the OKC broadcast, and honestly just wondering if any OKC fans find this comment: How do yall feel about your announcers? First time hearing them, and was also doing house work so didn’t hear the whole game.

idk why Fox is still underrated, the dude has been a terrifying shooter for awhile
Roughhh game by JDub
The worst he’s looked this season. He was even getting to his spots where he’s usually automatic and just had nothing.
I actually felt good after this game. Sure I would love to have won, but if we can play a really good team on the road like this despite several of our key players having awful games and the other team shooting *significantly* better than us, I think it bodes well for the future.
JDub and Chet have not played well against the kings this year
Sabonis is really mean to him during the games.
Keon keeps playing like this he's keeping Heurter around 20 minutes a night
now if vezenkov can take some more of HB’s minutes…
PLEASE.
I’ve been saying it. He shoots at least just as well but can play some D too.
That is what is nice about the team, Mike Brown can just run whoever is hot.
I have a 10 man rotation and I'll use every one of them - Mike Brown, probs
I love that he can come in for Fox, as well as play next to Fox and Monk. Adds a ton of lineup versatility when he’s playing like this.
Absolutely, the flexibility he brings is a game changer. With Fox drawing so much attention, having guys who can capitalize on that spacing is crucial. Plus, his defense doesnt just drop off when hes tasked with bigger assignments.

Monk is wayyy more consistent than Huerter
He has been so far this season but there’s a lot of season left. Huerter was way more consistent last year than Monk.
Yeah I love Monk and he's been great this year but last year he was boom or bust every game. Never knew which one you'd get
I disagree, scoring wise monk especially this year is consistent, but when it comes to passing and defense when he’s off Monk is a loose cannon. Both are inconsistent in different ways, but Monk’s consistency on scoring when the team needs scoring (we can only outscore opponents) means that Monk has seen the floor way more than Huerter this season.
Kings rolling since keon replaced Davion Mitchell. He will keep it up
Battle of the point guards. The west is going to be a tough place for the next few years.

The fact that Wemby is just getting started over there and the Rockets are putting it together…
You forgot thunder
Smartest wolves fan
No jinxing us
This lines up perfectly as (it appears) GS will regress to the mean, while the Kings last year climbed out of our two decade hibernation and now getting back up to speed. It is not a coincidence that when Queen Elizabeth decided to Alt-F4, we were back on the menu
This is facts

It's been like that for ten years lol
We can’t beat the kings man
Its ok, we can't beat the Pelicans.
We can’t either lol 😂
Feel like that play-in game fooled some folks, we get hosed by the Pelicans in the regular season 😂
But you guys have the typing advantage over Pelicans! (Lightning > Water/Flying)
Lol 😂 maybe that is why we took that play in game off them last year for once lol 😂
Pelicans are low key legit. They just kept getting injured.
They are an odd team though, like the jazz have their number even though they are rebuilding
We have one of the best records against team over .500, but also lose to the Jazz twice and the Bulls
When Zion is on not too many teams stand a chance
The 5th place Sacramento Kings are 5-0 against the top 4 teams in the west. They have lost against only 4 teams this season. 7,8,9, and 11 place.
They're 2-0 vs the 6th place lakers too, don't look after that.
I’ve gotten pretty good at reflexively hiding the West, and Pacific division, standings. Lots of practice sadly
7-0 vs other top 6 seeds
Wild ass stat. If we figure out how to play our good ball consistently we can make some playoff noise
I think there are just some teams that give us bad matchups. Players like Ingram, PG13, and Kawhi really show how much we suck at wing defense.
Yeah we have one real wing in Keegan. The team needs to make a move to get another at least playable wing and maybe a PF with some size as well. I’d love to get Collins from the Jazz if the price is right

Maybe we need to be a 5-8 seed so we can sweep the playoffs
Im calling the warriors and draymond
Three of their losses were without Fox in the lineup.
Can just say against the rockets but we would have probably losr with him.
Better stay out of the play-in
KANGZ are legit scary.
NBA fans eat when Shai and Fox play each other. Two of the smoothest guys in the league.
The thunder warriors games this year have been crazy too.
always have been 🔫
I’m sad but proud of okc for fighting till the end. Sga vs fox is always a treat to watch.
I’m happy to think we did all this with all those misses at the end plus the awful JDub game. Moral victories … Yea….
Yeah jdub had a stinker and Chet missed 2 rly good looks in the end. Can’t be mad at sga for chucking because no one else was hitting. Is okay. Onto the next.
The refs tried to give you the game too
Agreed, lot of iffy calls that favoured OKC, but a lot of SGA's calls were earned and sabonis got away with some straight up two hand shoves on Chet on his "rebounds"
8 in a row against the thunder. Wish the Kings could play them all year.
We're their Pelicans.
The Pelicans are also our Pelicans. Fucking hate playing both of you guys.
Then I watch them lose to the Lakers by 45 or get swept by the Jazz and I'm like wtf
Okay but for real though…how the hell do you beat the Pelicans?!
I don't know what it is even when we're rolling you guys have our number
Revenge for that Lu Dort game winner
And the dorture chamber moment on fox 🙁
No thanks.
I just hope the next time you guys play us in OKC Shai is actually in uniform unlike last season
Yeah we’re all excited to watch him shoot 30 free throws
Dont foul him then
Hey the lakers won the in season tournament you can switch your flair back
Its always been a thunder flair lol
Okay, mamba mentality 8-24
Oh no, its just a reddit username...dont read too deep into it lol
SGA is a freaking beast!! He’s just so tough to guard but so is Fox. Why doesn’t ref call anything for Fox tho?
Refs have always hated Fox ever since his rookie year. Dude plays the right way tho, never ever flops and calls out other players who do (ie Chris Paul, Jordan Poole, etc.)
I'm still confused by that over turned foul.. I've always thought you can't make any contact, even insignificant contact, with a shooter during a shot.
Yea, I think we all assumed they would take the foul off of Dort and switch it to Chet, he had his forearm on Fox's back basically the entire shooting motion. That gets called all the time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcohJjFnrVQ
Fox doesn’t flop
They're literally averaging the same FTA this season lol
yea and they get there in very different ways lol
Kings offense is good. And that’s bad.
Seemed like they actually implemented some of the points in this game. That guy was not calling us bad but pointing out that our game gone away from an efficient paint game to a ton more middy shots which are inefficient.
Dude might get hired as an assistant coach if Jordi get hired away from us lol. That write up was super in depth and great.
Naw he was very on point im just being sassy. But I do think small sample size against tough competition influence the argument 😤 also I’m Too drunk to be arguing this
Keon Ellis legacy game
Fox needs to play more angrily, he turns it up another level when he does. Continues to stay one of the least respected players in the NBA, fan wise and also officiated wise. I don’t think I’ve seen a player get hit and mauled as much as him.
So odd considering he seems like such a likable charismatic player, you would think the league would all about promoting him.
Dude is living the life right now and I’m glad he isn’t making himself someone he isn’t, although I just wish he gets more respect and people realize he’s a top player in this league with great character.
90% of his techs are swearing at the refs. Fox does not like them at all.
Remember his tweet “I thought the players were supposed to decide the games, not the refs”. Bro really dislikes the refs in the league I’m surprised the league doesn’t have a conspiracy against him known publicly like Scott Foster and Chris Paul.
Its a common trend for Kings players. Fox and Sabonis get 0 respect from the officials and Boogie didn’t either.
Didn't Huerter say last year that he instantly noticed how different they were officiated
Sabonis would like a word.
Tyler Ford is a midget and can suck a fat one
I can’t imagine how much patience Fox had to have that entire fourth quarter, genuinely thought he was going to get kicked out.
After he had that turnover where he was being hounded and held the whole way I thought he was about to break. Really glad he didn't, we needed him
What we learned from that is both NBA and NFL refs can both miss obvious holding calls.
> Tyler Ford Has the same last name of the company who were first to mass produce an automobile - an activity where you need to be diligent and scanning the roadway for hazard Then: Picks a career where being blind is a prerequisite Make it make sense
Fox is a top 10 player at the moment.
Very underrated star
Top 3. In NBA History, really. Number 2 is Keon Ellis. Obviously.
1. De’Aaron “Him” Fox 2. Keon Ellis 3. Malik “Means King In Arabic” Monk 4. LeBron James 5. Michael Jordan (4 and 5 are interchangeable)
Wrong lmao. This sub can’t stop the lies. 4 is Keegan and 5 is Murray
Keegan Murray
I just woke up from a coma and this is the only NBA game I've seen. Is Keon Ellis the greatest shooter of all time?
The fact that the NBA website rankings and fans refuse to even include him in the top 10 MVP candidate conversation is so disrespectful.
SGA as well GG 🤝
With Steven Adams out, the player I've heard other players remark on their raw strength is Sabonis. I’m surprised we were in it for as long as we were But the beautiful three point percentage is dwindling We couldn’t make a single open one bruh
Those couple at the end that Chet and J Dub missed were painful.
All open, all good shots, and all guys who should take him Tough scene
Tonight was the future of the Western conference. We’ll be watching this for 5+ years
Alex Len vs Davis Bertans gonna be a battle for the next couple years.
I’m honestly surprised Giddey could do what he did in the second half considering everything the guy is going through. And I’m more surprised at how bad J-Dub looked. Gg, hope we both make the playoffs but don’t play eachother
Fox is HIM
Fox around and find out
When they talk about the young talent in the league Fox is always forgotten. Dude is a an assassin
Kings are a terrible matchup for OKC. They just kill the Thunder every time with their speed and shooting. I have zero idea what Mark was thinking benching Wiggins for the entire second half.
These two point guards are a treat to watch.

Kings fan here. Love watching the Thunder play. Great young group. Glad we won though.
You guys are fun as well
Fuck the Pelicans. SAC 🤝 OKC
Also the warriors and lakers.

Kings are the only team I don't mind the thunder to lose to. It's annoying, but at least I like the kings.

Shoutout to Domas for a quiet 18 and 16 game.
Closer than it shouldve been. Kings had some tough calls going against them

Kings of Keon played a nice show even though some Ford guy kept trying to stall them
Kentucky guards came to play tonight (Cason doesn't count, he's just a baby)
Both of them heard yall saying Haliburton is the best point guard in the league
Decency and upstanding morals prevails once again.
The irony of the Patrick Beverly flair
Refs absolutely punching the air that we won this game. What a battle between Fox and SGA.... those dudes are amazing. Hope Fox's shoulder is a non issue.
Good game to expose okc, hope we can get a reliable second option
Reminder that Keon Ellis is on a two way contract, what development this year so far!
Feels like the Kings win by 25+ if this was reffed fairly, both of those Thunder challenges were insane
25+ is a wild call
I was surprised at the first one The second was obviously not a foul
If you only looked at Sabonis’s left hand then sure but Chet had all sorts of contact down low.
The second he hits his arm and lower body going up, easy foul call, they decided to ignore that
Yep. Chet’s block was clean.
Yeah at the top. He had his hand on Domas' back though
Professional hater u/Big_Boodu_Moot69 in shambles
Jdub cost us that....but its fine. We showed some fight at the end
New look NBA
We need more Fox v SGA showdowns like this.
Disgusting amount of free throws for gilgeous-alexActor
Growing up I knew guys like Lebron and Kobe wouldn’t play forever but I also really never thought I would witness superstars being made in real time
I am surprised that Josh Giddey got 18. He usually goes for 16
The booing by kings fans whenever he touched the ball was amazing
Lmao these Giddey comments never get old
Just like his preferences for women
I know you had to but i think you just killed the man
boom roasted
SGA? More like FTA A win for ethical hoopers everywhere Fox is that guy
I think I may have just fouled SGA
You just got whistled for a flagrant on SGA
I can’t blame him I would do the same if I could flop my head every drive and get free throws
The ethical buckets getter who also averaged 11 FTA a game last year. Total accident. Very ethical.
And now he’s averaging 7.5 free throw attempts while once again leading the league in driving at 21 attempts per game, 3 more drives per game than the second place guy. Ethical buckets
Bro anyone who watched this game can tell what’s going on. I’m saying it’s like this every night but tonight was awful.
Do something about the reffing man
Dearron Fox is so damn good.
Good damn game
Josh "since the allegations" Giddey with the +10.
Gotta love a good ol fashion duel
GG. Off nights from Wallace and especially from JDub hurt. JWill did well, and it was nice to see Giddey with a bounce back game where he looked aggressive instead of just looking to pass every time he had the ball. Excellent usage of challenges from Diagonal.
Keon is Great he’s who Davion think he is
Don’t talk about Davion like that
Sorry
But he’s right.
KeOn-Night
Lets go giddey
Dude….
