He just happens to play during a time when the league is extremely flush with talent. Dude has a deep bag and is an absolute dawg, but statistically he just doesn’t compare to his peers during the regular season due to a lack of consistency, unfortunately.
I’m sure he’ll take championships and playoff lore over an all-star appearance though. That being said I do hope he gets one in his career at some point (maybe if the Nuggets repeat)
I have watched him since his rookie season.I dont know what to call him. Hes like the elite/premium version of streaky. or like a glitched/bugged streaky player.
just for an example in a span of 20 games. He will have a stretch of 7 games shooting around 40% fg and below. and for another 13 games he will go out of his mind scoring 30+ on 50%fg.... hitting bullshit contested kyrie typeshit of layup and fadeaway.
He used to just shoot the slump out. but after he injury, he knows when to start making plays for others when his shot is not falling.
He doesn’t play like this for a lot of the regular season. Part of that is because he usually dinged up and misses like 5 games here or there. He elevates. There is a reason we call him a bright lights merchant. Him and Jimmy Butler are the only two guys in the league like this
He's having down stats from the regular season this year. Him and Jokic are actually 1 and 2 all time in ppg increase from career regular season to playoffs, but people just forget his attrocious games, while Jokic never has down games, just a little bit off or on. He's LEVELS above Murray as a playoff performer. Just check series by series. We only remember good Murray games on r/nba, but in between he had gazzilion stinkers
His impact goes beyond the box score. Last year he averaged 30 on 50/40/90 splits for a full series and then was putting up 30 point triple doubles in the finals. This guy hasn’t even made an all star game lol Murray is easily the biggest riser in the league
He did, but Jokic also had 28/15/12 so let's call it even. And then you look at the series before where Murray had 24 ppg on 53% ts and Jokic averaged 35/12/11. He's an insane riser, but not a better playoffs performer than Jokic. Not even close
His primary defender was Rui Hachimura while Murray was facing real defenders lol. Do you not realize Murray being an elite threat in the PnR/DHO game is what gets Jokic to those numbers. Watch the games he’s easily a better performer
Thought your point was only about primary defenders though. If not we can also look at the fact that Jokic was being doubled in most possessions, unless it ruins your narrative too much of course!
He's the captain of the ship and he's been getting his flowers for ages now. The rest showed up this series when it mattered and they deserve the praise now imo.
Hmmm Jamal was the clutch player of the series, but MPJ was just so important. Im just saying this so that people would really understand how big everything MPJ did for us this series really was.
Every time we needed a 3 or some points, hed get it for us. Jamal was amazing in this game, but for the series its underwhelming besides the 4th quarter of game 2.
But honestly great effort by the both of them, just that i know Jamal gets more recognition and really wanna sing the praises of MPJ.
Nah you're right man. MPJ deserves all the flowers for the way he played this series. He did well in defensive assignments too. Can't wait to see the Minny matchup!
just because he's the last guy that gets the shot? he was bad this series, hopefully, he steps up, if he plays like this against Timberwolves it's going to be an easy match for them.

Jamal Murray seems like a good ass dude, just fucking hates the Lakers lmao
and I can’t even hate him back, because all this fucking team is soooo likeable 😭
That's Mr Clutch!
MJ stands for Murray, Jamal
Jamal poster, Jamal game winner what a night
Why is this dude not in the all stars game :P

Farming for karma in a historic night
He’s legitimately the best playoff performer of all time
He's not even the best on his own team
MPJ is a good playoff performer but he isn’t touching Murray lol
Jokic averaged 28/16/10 this series. I love Jamal. But this is a dumbass take.
He was getting guarded by Rui Hachimura lol who cares. Historically Murray is the greatest playoff riser in the league
Playoff Riser is different than playoff performer.
Both instances Murray is the best in the league
lmfao bucks fans can't even prop up giannis anymore so they have to prop up jokic's teammates.
Lmfao Giannis clears Jokic but that has nothing to do with anything 8 said lol I’ve liked Jamal since Kentucky
LMAO nice way to prop up your guy just say it straight up we all saw through your bullshit
man you so wrong.💀
Not at all tbh

>Murray was facing real defenders lol. Austin Reaves?
Watch last years series and look at the way Murray was defender compared to everyone else
Thought your point was only about primary defenders though. If not we can also look at the fact that Jokic was being doubled in most possessions, unless it ruins your narrative too much of course!
lol is this Zhugo's burner account
What?
Jamal's the MVP of this series. What a warrior, he my clutch king
Lol Jokic so good people don't even notice anymore. Averaged 28/16/10 this series and people arguing between Jamal and MPJ
He's the captain of the ship and he's been getting his flowers for ages now. The rest showed up this series when it mattered and they deserve the praise now imo.
Of course they deserve praise, but the MVP isn't suddenly not the MVP just because others deserve praise.
Nah just the series dawg. Jokic still the MVP of the league for sure.
MVP of the series is what I was talking about
Nah the MVP fpr the series should go to MPJ. That man just did so much for us through the whole series and kept us alive for large portions of it.
Definitely 1A 1B situation. MPJ played amazing today as well...
jokic was still way better than both of them lmao it's just expected. he's leading the entire playoffs in points, rebounds and assists
Hmmm Jamal was the clutch player of the series, but MPJ was just so important. Im just saying this so that people would really understand how big everything MPJ did for us this series really was. Its gonna be wild. Just hoppe we fully recover from this series.
just because he's the last guy that gets the shot? he was bad this series, hopefully, he steps up, if he plays like this against Timberwolves it's going to be an easy match for them.
But curry is clutch player of the year 🤣
