That’s a spot on description of Bam too whenever he does dirty shit..all these elite athletes conveniently lose all coordination around the opposing team quite often
Love this. I’ve always laughed at how I hear Bam can cover all positions due to freakish athleticism and coordination yet when clocks a guy… he’s compared to PF’s like Charles Oakley.
Do you think Draymond accidentally hit LeBrons nuts in the finals? (What a cluster of events that caused!)
From my watching experience and very low level playing experience, dirty players don’t consider the punishments even in the most urgent of times.
ate the end of last game he aborted a totally free mid range shot to drive close and force a foul
its safe to say that whatever Embiid does that is excessive is pretty deliberate
He was trying to go for the 3 point play as the Sixers were down 5 (might have been 6, can’t remember exactly) at the time. Like do you guys purposefully ignore context all the time or just when talking about Embiid?
Yeah it’s a flagrant for sure, but players have every right to keep playing to stop the continuation, don’t know why Brunson has been so surprised that people keep playing to stop the and 1
my question is why the hell is Embiid throwing his hands up like he didn't do anything. I dont think it was intentional, accidents happen, but you have to know you literally hit him in the face, the whole "hands in the air, confused what he did wrong" is so ridiculous. It's shit like that that makes him so unlikable
the worst part of every NBA game is when the game stops every few possessions because one guy went "AAAYYYYYE" under the basket and the other side throws up their hands like the idea of them ever fouling is preposterous
RSarkitip- I don't think the hit was intentional, and I am not a fan of either team but really like Embiid and Brunson so I'm hopefully non-partial.
An NBA player getting histrionic about an obvious call is common in the NBA, but you have admit that it looks bad for him to complain when replay shows how well he caught Brunson's head/face. This isn't a nuanced foul call, it is going to be called 99.9% of the time as long as a ref notices it. There is a good reason fouls above the neck are taken seriously, and bitching about getting called for it is not a good look.
If he did it after a play like this, yes, I would also that that was really lame. I criticized Joker when he hit Morris in the back, criticized him when he got ejected vs the Suns a few years ago. I criticize him when he does shitty stuff too. The difference is how frequently they do it.
It's not inherently crappy to put your hands up and question what you did wrong. It *is* crappy to do it after you *blatantly* fouled someone in the face.
It’s funny you bring up Jokic getting ejected against the suns, because he did something similar, except he actually got ball but hit cam Payne in the nose with his nice while reaching through, rather than hitting him in the head with the palm of his hand. But his was worthy of a flagrant 2 immediate ejection but this isn’t 🤔
but Jokic isn't doing that after an alleged dirty play where he's just injured the other guy. in fact i rarely see Jokic injure anyone, intentionally or not. (& when it's been intentional he's not doin the "double plates" lol)
meanwhile doesn't Embiid have more flagrants than fuckin Draymond already???
Jokic has had [4](https://www.foxsports.com/nba/nikola-jokic-player-stats?seasonType=reg&category=misc) flagrant fouls in the last 7 years
Embiid is now on [20](https://www.foxsports.com/nba/joel-embiid-player-stats?seasonType=reg&category=misc) (in 7 years)
This is regular + post season
Draymond: Dirty because dirty
Grayson: Dirty because dirty
Pat Bev: Annoying ass bitch
Kelly Olynyk: Fuck em! Punk lunchlady loser
Embiid: How fucking dare you, why aren't you calling out Jokic for being a dirty dumb loser and why would you say Jokic is the MVP, you must hate black people!
This is the most annoying part. You ass (Embiid). You just got cooked, you’re down 3-1, you obviously smacked a face and grabbed an arm. Your hands are up for ???
Embiid has by far the greatest disparity in NBA history when it comes to him fucking mauling dudes like a hungry momma grizzly and acting like hes never fouled someone in his life, vs when hes foul hunting and acts like a gentle breeze from a 6' guard moving past him is like getting shot with a .50 cal
This is how I feel about it.
I can't watch a dude try to strong arm one play, then flail around and get twisted by divincenzo making a play on the ball when he tried to seal him at half court.
Seriously tired of his shit for years.
Dude like this would get kicked outta the park man. You set the tone, live with that shit.
This literally happens on almost every foul that isn’t intentional in the nba and soccer as well. Jesus Christ. He wasn’t even saying he didn’t foul him, just that he was going down to the ball and it wasn’t intentionally hitting in the head.
I've seen enough this series to see that Embiid gets frustrated and makes frustration fouls. To me he's out of bounds. I don't really care if he's "not trying to hurt anyone," It's far too frequent to be just an accident. He has 3-4 just supremely questionable fouls in this playoff series alone.
I can’t stop laughing at how Embiid’s hand looked magnetized right to Brunson’s face. He was holding his hand somewhat still above everything and then it just shot down and slapped the piss out of Brunson lol
Then he puts his hand up like he didn’t just use his
big ol’ tree trunk arm to karate chop Brunson’s big ol’ head. You could see the foul from the moon.
Yeah the foul is totally fine. I have done the same thing and have had it done to me, shit happens. The bewilderment at the call is what is wild hahaha
I’ll be the one to say that was almost certainly a play on the ball. Certainly reckless. But a play on the ball.
I don’t think he could have made that contact on purpose, y’all.
The thing is there are a ton of dirty plays by Embiid this series but there are also so many plays like this that get posted to the front page where it obviously wasn’t dirty
Embiid did not purposely commit a weak flagrant while up by 4 in the last 2 minutes
This sub has a hard time realizing how fast this game is. Embiid clearly went for the ball here and just missed. Anybody who has ever played basketball knows that this shit happens. Flag 1 and check ball is reasonable, there was nothing else to it.
Plus Brunson deliberately going for the foul call which disrupted Joel’s path to the ball, a move which everyone gets mad at Embiid for doing yet is a staple of Brunson’s game, that part is not even mentioned lol
Biggest thing following sports online has taught me is how far people (myself included, don't get me wrong) will take confirmation bias and the lengths they'll go to justify it
Even if the hard foul was intentional, it definitely doesn't appear to have enough force behind it to be dirty tbh. Like I'm a Embiid hater (you can see the shit I was saying during their earlier matches lmao), but this is a normal-ish play and correct flagrant 1
More like natural dunking motion lol... Honeslty it looks like he is fouling intentionally just to stop the play. He is injured and probably doesn't want to jump and try to block just to get a foul called on him anyway.
a littel sloppy that he hit the head instead of an arm, but it's whatever. I do not think he was trying to injure or be dirty....this time
Yeah he clear as day smacks Brunson in the face (actually don’t think it was as bad as his reputation would leave u to believe)… but then throws his hands up like he didn’t swing his hand down 😂😂
I think he's trying to downplay the contact to avoid a flagrant review because Brunson was def milking it, and admittedly I think Brunson cost them the game in a way by trying to bait so many fouls instead of just going to score (or god forbid make a pass once in a while)
Don't think he was protesting a foul at all, just didn't want the flagrant
Wow I can’t believe I have to defend Embiid from this karma race on r/nba
He didn’t act like he did nothing, he put his hands up because he knew he connected with the face so he was trying to plead his case that it wasn’t intentional, cuz he knew it was borderline gonna get reviewed.
Embiid having a triple double while Brunson sold the game will be overshadowed because Knicks fans need to be the protagonist and Embiid has to be the big bad.
Isn't that move that Brunson did before supposed to be a flop or a offensive foul these days? The Harden bait foul?
If he hadn't done that he would have not gotten smacked.
Love Brunson and yes, he got smacked in the head but man isn’t the NBA quickly sliding into soccer territory with the embellishment. It’s now 75% athletics and 25% acting.
[If the roles were reversed Embiid would never crumple to the ground like Brunson](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fllelulkg7l7c1.jpeg%3Fwidth%3D921%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D834c3b50c3f61af064fc05a4b6b90f181a910bc6)
What the fuck is with players clearly fouling and then complaining when they get called for it. Westbrook did the same a few nights ago.nlike, how do you think you're getting away with that?

r/NBA lives for this
I used to play like embiid. Still do, but I used to, too.
Guys we found Mitchell Robinson Hedgburg’s account
I got the lady at the front desks phone number…. It’s zeroooo
*Hedgburg* So close…
Sonic the Hedgburg!
NBA CJ lives for this.
all cranium - embiid
🙆🏿♂️🙋🏿♂️💁🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤷🏿💅🏿 -Embiid
Embiid has now elbow close lined, bowed in the face, and now face slapped Brunson this series.
3/4 of Embiid's game is based on the most precise hand movements possible
Simultaneously the most coordinated big man in history and the clumsiest who can't be blamed for injuring other players according to Sixers fans.
That’s a spot on description of Bam too whenever he does dirty shit..all these elite athletes conveniently lose all coordination around the opposing team quite often
Natural shooting motion
Love this. I’ve always laughed at how I hear Bam can cover all positions due to freakish athleticism and coordination yet when clocks a guy… he’s compared to PF’s like Charles Oakley.
He must be the unluckiest guy on the planet.
Philadelphia fans in general are known to be giant shit heads.
We'll that's not nice
Historically shit heads
Your not wrong
Do you seriously think he did this intentionally when it’s OT in a win or go home situation?
He went for the hard foul on the arm but hit Brunson in the face first. It is what it is
People, he isn’t saying that it wasn’t flagrant.
Do you think Draymond accidentally hit LeBrons nuts in the finals? (What a cluster of events that caused!) From my watching experience and very low level playing experience, dirty players don’t consider the punishments even in the most urgent of times.
Yes
There is no question he did this intentionally. He is nowhere near the ball and is staring directly down at Brunson's head as he does it.
ate the end of last game he aborted a totally free mid range shot to drive close and force a foul its safe to say that whatever Embiid does that is excessive is pretty deliberate
He was trying to go for the 3 point play as the Sixers were down 5 (might have been 6, can’t remember exactly) at the time. Like do you guys purposefully ignore context all the time or just when talking about Embiid?
Yeah I get what you're saying, but those things are mainly with a ball he controls. Not a moving target with free will.
I don't really think that was deliberate, but it was reckless enough to be a flagrant.
Sometimes you just need to smack a dude in the face.
Joel Embiid is the Rick James of the NBA.
Habitual line crosser
Yeah it’s a flagrant for sure, but players have every right to keep playing to stop the continuation, don’t know why Brunson has been so surprised that people keep playing to stop the and 1

my thought was that he didnt disagree its a foul, but he thought brunson was selling how hard the foul was.
He still had red marks like 3-4 minutes later during his fts
I'm not gonna call full bias, but do you think Jokic doing his palms up incredulous face makes him unlikable?
Jokic always looks like he’s really upset to be delivering an imaginary extra large pizza.
And if it’s really bad he flings that pizza onto Skylar White’s roof
Sorry. I need this explained like a child as I’m not familiar but want to be.
Breaking bad (American tv show) reference
Mama mia!!
Perfection, couldn't be described any better
This is amazing lol
the worst part of every NBA game is when the game stops every few possessions because one guy went "AAAYYYYYE" under the basket and the other side throws up their hands like the idea of them ever fouling is preposterous
Tim Duncan had the best incredulous like “what?! I’ve never committed a foul in my life!” face. Always made me laugh
https://imgur.com/2rxrTGd
Haha this makes me laugh everytime.
Marc Gasol had some legendary reactions as well.
Lol. I love that meme of the Duncan faces
RSarkitip- I don't think the hit was intentional, and I am not a fan of either team but really like Embiid and Brunson so I'm hopefully non-partial. I get as annoyed with Luka as I do with Embiid
If he did it after a play like this, yes, I would also that that was really lame. I criticized Joker when he hit Morris in the back, criticized him when he got ejected vs the Suns a few years ago. Jokic is just so much more relatable and classy
Jokic has had [4](https://www.foxsports.com/nba/nikola-jokic-player-stats?seasonType=reg&category=misc) flagrant fouls in the last 7 years Embiid is now on [20](https://www.foxsports.com/nba/joel-embiid-player-stats?seasonType=reg&category=misc) (in 7 years) This is regular + post season
Was one of Jokic's the one against Markieff Morris?
One of them was the one where he nearly whacked Cam Payne's nose off because he was mad
And Jokic has over 250 games played more than Embiid
Knew this would be here
The Embiid fan brings up racism as why people don't like him! It's super effective!
Ole reliable
Draymond: Dirty because dirty Grayson: Dirty because dirty Pat Bev: Annoying ass bitch Kelly Olynyk: Fuck em! Punk lunchlady loser Embiid: How fucking dare you, why aren't you calling out Jokic for being a dirty dumb loser and why would you say Jokic is the MVP, you must hate black people!

I’ve always called that move pulling a Tim Duncan.
he's just frustrated because he genuinely didn't try to hurt Brunson but now everyone will be calling him dirty again
If he doesn't want people to call him a dirty player then he shouldn't have made all those dirty plays his whole career lol
….but he is dirty. Have you been watching him? Groin kicks, grabbing ankles, swinging elbows, etc. he’s got more flagrants than draymond homie
Embiid doesn't care what randos on reddit think
not just people on here - ESPN and NY media will be doing the same thing
I've seen enough this series to see that Embiid gets frustrated and makes frustration fouls. To me he's out of bounds. I don't really care if he's "not trying to hurt anyone," It's far too frequent to be just an accident. He has 3-4 just supremely questionable fouls in this playoff series alone.
That is not the issue here.
He elbows him in the back on the head first then swipes him in the face it was clear as day
looks like he lines it right up lol
Clearly deliberate if you swiping for the ball you swipe at the ball not his face
Intention and outcome are always the same thing, so true
You think? Looked deliberate to me. Whacked him right in the head. Hand was nowhere close to the ball
How many shots to the faces has Embiid handed out in this series?
Leads in shot attempts
Leads in nut shots, too. Versatile.
Guy is averaging 2 flagrant fouls a game
This isn’t that egregious, anyone who’s played basketball has done this before lol
I can’t stop laughing at how Embiid’s hand looked magnetized right to Brunson’s face. He was holding his hand somewhat still above everything and then it just shot down and slapped the piss out of Brunson lol
Then he puts his hand up like he didn’t just use his big ol’ tree trunk arm to karate chop Brunson’s big ol’ head. You could see the foul from the moon.
Yeah the foul is totally fine. I have done the same thing and have had it done to me, shit happens. The bewilderment at the call is what is wild hahaha
No, but it is a pretty much textbook flagrant 1 though
He definitely shouldn't be holding up his hands like "what foul?!" tho haha
This is every knicks player. Especially Josh Hart.
It’s every player in the league. It’s either hands up to the refs or twirling their little fingers at their coach to challenge.
I don’t even play basketball and can tell lol r/nba just blinded by embiid hatred
Crazy to be a Celtic fan defending Embiid here lol
One fascinating thing I’ve noticed is the vast majority of the haters can easily be traced to jokic fans or Eastern Europeans lol.
Some of us just enjoy hating
and is free so there is no reason not to do it
Damn building next year’s embiid mvp narrative early huh big perk?
Nah. It can be traced to any non-sizers fans who watch him play basketball.
not really. Knicks fans were booing him in every possession. Anyone who watches him play knows he plays dirty.
it's been pretty ridiculous. but then again its healthier to just not argue with stupid people on the internet lmao
Yeah, IDIOT
You’re right, people should ignore sixers fans.
Crowd acting like embiid curb stomped a ~~Grant Williams~~ puppy
I'm more disgusted by him throwing his hands up like he didn't commit a foul, lol
Yeah I literally did this last week. I felt bad but everyone knew what I was trying to do.
People in here barely watch basketball let alone play it.
This happened to me last night and no one at pick up called flagrant
I’ll be the one to say that was almost certainly a play on the ball. Certainly reckless. But a play on the ball. I don’t think he could have made that contact on purpose, y’all.
right, that's what flagrant 1's are for...
Yeah, I’m ok with the flagrant one. Everyone was saying it was intentional when I typed that comment
Yeah he was expecting Brunson to take a shot, not just wait to get fouled
Knicks fans will mald but this isnt a dirty play. flagrant 1 is correct, embiid was uncoordinated
The thing is there are a ton of dirty plays by Embiid this series but there are also so many plays like this that get posted to the front page where it obviously wasn’t dirty Embiid did not purposely commit a weak flagrant while up by 4 in the last 2 minutes

Embiid can be dirty as fuck sometimes but man reddit REALLY wants to find anything about him to hate
Biggest thing following sports online has taught me is how far people (myself included, don't get me wrong) will take confirmation bias and the lengths they'll go to justify it
Seriously this cost the sixers 4 or 5 points that sequence. I think brunson hit 1/2 then drained that 3
Even if the hard foul was intentional, it definitely doesn't appear to have enough force behind it to be dirty tbh. Like I'm a Embiid hater (you can see the shit I was saying during their earlier matches lmao), but this is a normal-ish play and correct flagrant 1
Embiid is the most coordinated big man in history, yet he somehow turns into a stumbling oaf when there's a chance to sneak something extra in
Almost like having the ball in your hands and dictating where you’re gonna move is different than reacting on defense
Natural blocking motion
More like natural dunking motion lol... Honeslty it looks like he is fouling intentionally just to stop the play. He is injured and probably doesn't want to jump and try to block just to get a foul called on him anyway. a littel sloppy that he hit the head instead of an arm, but it's whatever. I do not think he was trying to injure or be dirty....this time
Brunson bumped him which threw off his timing on the swipe. For the love of god can y’all stop calling everything dirty
People love to overreact to the slow mo replays, assign intention and make up a whole drama.
Then he acts like he didn’t do anything 😂😂
Yeah he clear as day smacks Brunson in the face (actually don’t think it was as bad as his reputation would leave u to believe)… but then throws his hands up like he didn’t swing his hand down 😂😂
I think he's trying to downplay the contact to avoid a flagrant review because Brunson was def milking it, and admittedly I think Brunson cost them the game in a way by trying to bait so many fouls instead of just going to score (or god forbid make a pass once in a while) Don't think he was protesting a foul at all, just didn't want the flagrant
Brunson was very willing to pass to the ghost in the corner
Just a terrible sequence. Reminded me of Curry's dumb pass against the Cavs in that finals game
Wow I can’t believe I have to defend Embiid from this karma race on r/nba He didn’t act like he did nothing, he put his hands up because he knew he connected with the face so he was trying to plead his case that it wasn’t intentional, cuz he knew it was borderline gonna get reviewed.
Wake up babe new r/nba embiid nephew pile-on just dropped
This will be the highest up voted highlight from the game mark my words.
That would be a shame since Maxey should be the story
He's fucking incredible.
Marked and wrong.
Not too late. Embiid haters aren't actually watching these games live.
True. If there’s one thing r/nba is full of its haters of any kind.
Honestly not an Embiid fan but that is super weak
Yeah he def clanked his wrist off the top of Brunsons dome but didn't look like he got eyes at all and brunson sold it up a bit.
Brunson reminded me of Neymar in that one
Neymar would of rolled to the popcorn vendor
Do you really think this shouldn’t be a flagrant 1?
People gonna ignore the 3 amazing defensive plays he made this
Brunson sells the shit out of minor contact but we know this sub will say Embiid should be shot for this.
Bring him into the streets to be executed. It's only fair
Why Embiid throw his hands up like he didn't even foul him lmao
He can’t help himself
He just hates Brunson’s face
It’s just so big
Migraine had him thinking it was the ball.
Kinda hard not to, but you still shouldn't hit the guy.
bro is doing anything but helping Maxey
He almost has a quadruple double though
Embiid having a triple double while Brunson sold the game will be overshadowed because Knicks fans need to be the protagonist and Embiid has to be the big bad.
10 foul quad double would be goated
[удалено]
Yeah, he just had a triple double and once again the highest +\- on the team
Isn't that move that Brunson did before supposed to be a flop or a offensive foul these days? The Harden bait foul? If he hadn't done that he would have not gotten smacked.
I guess it's okay to charge into Embiid with his shoulder.
Thank you I feel like I'm going insane reading these comments.
The way fucking Brunson is reffed vs Maxey is comical
Maxey is only a one time all star, he hasn’t earned the whistle of Jalen Brunson, one time all star.
How is this a flagrant but Robinson shoving Oubre to the ground isn’t?
The entire officiating with flagrants is weird. At this point I don’t know what’s the Refs consider a 1 , 2 or nothing at all.
Hartenstein fouling Maxey the play before wasn't even called.
Love Brunson and yes, he got smacked in the head but man isn’t the NBA quickly sliding into soccer territory with the embellishment. It’s now 75% athletics and 25% acting.
Got hit on top of the head and acted like somebody threw acid in his face.
Embiid wondering where's the foul is what I found funny about this play.
wouldn’t have hit his face if he didn’t jump into embiids chest
Weak
Brunson deserves an Oscar for that performance
Dude basketball got so soft
Post the play where Ihart hit maxey in the face and hurt him with no call cowards
or when mitchell robinson literally threw K9
The crazy thing is I’ve seen refs call this a foul on the defender as if the defender fouled them with their face lol
He’s actually my goat
If the elbow doesn't work...man's full of ideas!
Gotta love the Knicks crowd!
🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂give me more of that delicious salt you ugly fucks
This reminded me of when Lu Dort mistook LeBron's head for a ball and smacked it😧
WWE would be proud of that sell lol
[If the roles were reversed Embiid would never crumple to the ground like Brunson](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fllelulkg7l7c1.jpeg%3Fwidth%3D921%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D834c3b50c3f61af064fc05a4b6b90f181a910bc6)
Didn't get as many upvotes as you wanted huh? Not the greatest game to try to enact yalls dumbfuck, boring ass Embiid hate on
Every game
Grow up it’s OT in the playoffs. You guys are so weak, if you’d played a real competitive sport you’d understand.
NBA is so soft now
THIS MAN FR HAS NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE 😅
WTF is wrong with this dude
NBA is literally soccer at this point. The guy is falling down after have his face brushed
Definitely worthy of a flagrant but Brunson has really mastered the art of selling contact rolling on the ground like that
What the fuck is with players clearly fouling and then complaining when they get called for it. Westbrook did the same a few nights ago.nlike, how do you think you're getting away with that?
Maybe you're misunderstanding what they're trying to say?
