That’s sweet of you to include BI.

Artistic_Passage_737

Shai and Luka are already superstars. I mean Luka will be 5x all NBA first team after this season which is the same as Steph Curry.

DrWilliamBlock

1 more than Curry…

tomatobrew

Luka just too good too early and people now just assume what he does is normal

texrygo

I hope this Luka kid pans out. He’s off to a decent enough start. Bum missed all NBA his rookie season and had to settle for rookie of the year so who knows.

Educational-Judge968

He’s too fat too be good, decent role player at best imo

Few_Mulberry7362

This list will expand once the league gifts Tatum, Embiid, Maxey, Haliburton, Mitchell, and Giannis to the Lakers and Warriors as a bailout

asdev24

Ain’t no one bailing out the warriors after curry gone lol that was a one time thing. Warriors got no aura. Back to mediocrity

gray_character

Eventually they'll have a new star leading their team in some years. It's always interesting to see a team get a new identity like that.

Quality_Cucumber

Being mentioned in the same breath as Lakers is funny.

johnkimmy0130

yeah the lakers made the playoffs this year

ShaiFC

Yall not Lakers level yet but Curry brought in so many Warriors fans that the league can't risk letting them go back to poverty status and losing them

whiskeyinthejaar

who did the league gift to the Lakers exactly? I am always fascinated by these braindead talk points. AD Joined after the Lakers literally outbid everyone, including themselves. LeBron wanted to come to LA, and Lakers fits his brand, so who else? Is it Pau? Who was 1x all NBA player? Lakers were shit between 2013 and 2018

Afraid-Department-35

Idk about gifting but LA has always been an attractive destination for obvious reasons.

whiskeyinthejaar

How many top FA chose the Lakers over money elsewhere? KD literally refused to take a meeting with Lakers FO before joining the warriors

Afraid-Department-35

? They had so many lol * Magic * Shaq * Malone * Payton * Fisher * Artest * Lebron * Wilkes * Rambis That's way more than some franchises ever got and that list is excluding washed/old players like Dwight, Bogut and Rando. LA is by far a more attractive FA location compared to some other orgs.

NedStarx11

You guys suck and then have to go through literally one year of ‘rebuilding’ then just get all the top FAs. Some fan bases have been rebuilding for a fucking decade and the lakers have the luxury of ‘rebuilding’ 5 times in a decade when they want You don’t see how some fan bases would find that annoying? Dealing with rumours that their home grown guy is eyeing LA the whole season Then you have guys leave Reaves signing deals for under market value cause he wants to stay in LA.

whiskeyinthejaar

Are you done venting? One year of rebuilding between 2012 and 2018? Or the mid 90s one year rebuilding post Magic? Who are the Top FAs that the Lakers got in the last 30 years? Magic could have retained Shaq if they weren’t cheap LeBron came to LA for business, so enlighten me about the top FAs? Lakers rebuilt once in a decade because Jerry West is a genius and drafted a top 10 players of all time. The same way Dallas rebuilt once in the decade after drafting Dirk. Who makes these rumors? The league? Lakers fanbase? Its the same shit every player is linked to the Knicks. And the cherry on top of this dumb comment, nobody, literally nobody offered shit for Reaves. A lot of teams could have offered a max to fuck with the Lakers to match, but no one did.

Oxygenius_

You should be mad the league gave Wembanyama to the spurs and not to Luka. Imagine wemby and Luka in Dallas?? Also Laker fans have respect for Dallas fans since 2011, don’t ruin that lol

Aggressive-Name-1783

I mean, that speaks more to other organizations than the lakers…. Again, what top FAs? They traded for AD and 33 year old Lebron is the only one in the last decade that signed with them. Kids here act like the memes about Luka and Giannis going to LA are real and not memes….

NedStarx11

Gee, I donno… maybe the all time GOAT lebron? That sort of changed your franchise direction a bit Edit: nice edit to include lebron in your post when you originally didn’t lmao

Aggressive-Name-1783

33 year old lebron…..and that’s ONE guy….youre arguing about ONE guy, who was 33, repeat that, 33……

slimed-ferda

Oh my god stfu

Aggressive-Name-1783

You first troll

NedStarx11

…. And he’s nearly 40 and is still a top 15 guy in the league….

Aggressive-Name-1783

Nobody predicted he was still going to be top 15 now. Y’all have been predicting the man to fall off for a decade now. Hating the lakers is trendy, but yall circlejerk on this sub worse than the actual circlejerk sub

IcyWhereas2313

This is America and not a communist country you have a right to pursue the most lucrative and attractive job you can get, this is not the 50s…

Mdgt_Pope

>1x All NBA This is like complaining that the bag wasn’t a Berkin, just a Louis Vuitton.

Lopken

Magic Johnson was litterally a gifted draft pick. The Jazz signed Gail Goodrich as a free agent and then later on the league, trying to prevent free agent signings, forced the Jazz to give up 3 first rounds picks. The Jazz were unaware at the time of signing what they would have to give up.

whiskeyinthejaar

Are you done fabricating histories for morons to applaud your ignorance? Here is a simple timeline, Lakers had Kareem, and were in fact a great team. Missed the playoffs because the rules Lakers drafted Magic in 79 Goodrich went to the Jazz in 76 77-78 seasons both Goodrich and Maravich were injured; hence their shitty record. You are stupidly arguing that league, knew two years in advance, that both players gonna get injured, and Magic will be so good in college to get drafted at number 1 before he even went to college. Do you hear yourself?

Vallerie_09

Austin Reaves and DLo

whiskeyinthejaar

Lakers drafted Reaves and DLo no one wanted him you numbnut

EverybodyBuddy

It’s especially funny given we have a known example of the league BLOCKING a trade to the lakers. Gifted, my ass. The small market owners are so bitter there’s always a Lakers tax for any trade if not downright refusal to trade at all.

IcyWhereas2313

The NBA draft is small market welfare… is and has always been

FTX-SBF

Embiid is a liability

VanillaIsActuallyYum

Bro you forgot Naz Reid.

BlackScienceJesus

Naz Reid.

Loukoal117

When he didn't mention every players who gets minutes on the wolves I was so mad. Jmac IS a superstar in my heart. And whoever that Afro guy is on the end of the bench, he's our best cheerleader.

feralda

I highly doubt Jokic will play into his upper 30s

juantravis

He’s got horses to feed

Current-Ad9061

if he doesn’t it’ll likely be because of injury or no motivation to play, his game translates really well with age

fuzzynavel34

The young talent in both conferences is incredible. Most talented the league has ever been

UTRAnoPunchline

The league is certainly ripe for expansion

totalmayo

Bring back the Sonics!

bullpaw

Yeah but the Bulls have Coby White

Ok-Philosopher9070

He’s good dude, hoping you guys are able to capitalize and build around him instead of your fo choosing purgatory again

seattle_born98

KG said it best

Panda__Puncher

Well my Pistons are going to give Tobias 100 million so the east is pretty loaded too.

TrillenX

Skimmed the first two lines and thought this was a parody of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer

Upbeat_County3606

Jdub has superstar potential but he needs his own team

MannerSuperb

Big fan of jdub Game man. Big athletic body with real skills and defensively versatility

peroper7

As a fan of an eastern team that’s rebuilding Im so grateful lol, you guys can have fun over there

Remarkable_Pound_722

yep, its all up to celtics for the east

skillet06g

Don't sleep on Magic. They're led by a sophomore player.

ChiRaider

It’s gonna be the Thunder Timberwolves Grizzlies and Spurs conference for the next decade Feel bad for a lot of those other teams who are tom a be good but won’t have the talent to compete with those 4. Hopefully the league gives Cooper Flagg and Cam Boozer to the Wizards instead of a West team and moves the Timberwolves or Grizzlies to the East like you said

PlayInChampions

Even if Cooper Flagg goes East, there are going to be trades from East to West as always. For one Donovan Mitchell going to the East from West, we have 2-3 players going in the opposite direction, like big-3 from the Nets. This summer it might be Trae Young.

Milla4Prez66

So what you’re telling me is Ja is fine in the west?

skillet06g

Joker just turned 29. Wolves, Mavs, Denver and maybe Okc are still the only promising franchises there.

ShaiFC

Spurs?

skillet06g

Spurs post Duncan/Kawhi is really bad. They just lucked into another first pick which is Wemby. Still not high with their franchise right now. Also, Pop imo should retire.

ShaiFC

I mean they tore everything down last year and Wemby is their only top 5 pick so yea its not too much rn. But they're getting another top 5 pick to give Wemby a co star and have alot of assets

paddyc4ke

Does a top 5 pick get you a superstar co-star though? This draft seems incredibly weak to me

skillet06g

I think it's still too early to tell. Unlike the 4 remaining teams in the playoffs, Spurs still need too many things before being considered as top dogs for the next 5 years. Pop will retire soon, uncertainty with how well they will draft and San Antonio not a really good FA destination.

Consistent_Ear_1989

I’m a Memphis fan. We are done.

OsirisHimself1

Send Memphis east.

juantravis

Kyrie too

Carolake1

Cute how OP thinks Lebron will be retiring in the next 5 years or so

FrivolousBIG

League policy says one conference can't eat all the loaded nachos

Meistro215

I feel like this sub needs flairs like the NFL subs. There’s no context behind comments and it’s hard to tell a bias

Agreeable-Handle-355

This man doesn’t know Zion

slavicmaelstroms

Bro really said Zion 💀

One_Firefighter4035

He looked unstoppable wa you mean

ShaiFC

Dude averaged 27 ppg on 65% TS as a 20 year old and had 40 in his playoff debut. He just needs to stay healthy but he's already arguably a top 5 pure scorer in the NBA

BlackScienceJesus

He was playing great defense at the end of the season too. Legitimately was an impact defender. Also he played 70 games. He was healthy just got unlucky with the timing of his injury.

ForsakenRacism

Bed against zion second half of this season and you would have lost your shirt

Agreeable-Handle-355

Average non-NBA watcher

MangoDouble3259

Ant is literally going be face of nba in next 3 years. I bet even better than wemby.

Blowback_

NBA tried so hard to make Tatum that guy, but it came naturally for Ant, and frankly, if he wins the chip this year, he will become the new face. He's already been compared to Jordan. Chip = new face, chip + finals MVP= start of goat talk...3 years in the league and if he can accomplish that, then yes, he deserves all the consideration for all the conversations

MangoDouble3259

People hating rn prob only watch timberwolves during playoffs. But ant is goat/commander of his team literally is a game changer. I don't think he's ready yet but another 3 years top if not on wolves somewhere else. Timberwolves tbh are my favorite to win.

Blowback_

If they can beat the nuggets, I think they will win it all...they have all the pieces

IcyWhereas2313

This does not even matter… Who cares in the free agency era… players move around This East vs West is silly, the conference setup is for logistics

ShaiFC

The West has been better than the East for 30 years now. Just too many bad FOs in the East compared to the West

IcyWhereas2313

So what…

Objective-Union7807

So….the west is better than the east?

IcyWhereas2313

If it is… so what

Objective-Union7807

I’m not sure, you seem to be the one making a big deal about it. Everything ok?

Play_Durty

Memphis, Denver, OKC, T-Wolves, Mavs, I have those 5 making the playoffs next year with NO MAJOR INJURIES. Fighting for 6-9 I can see New Orleans, Pheonix, Kings, maybe Houston? You have to ask yourself if you're the Clippers, Warriors, Lakers is it time to blow it up? Maybe even Lebron retire before he looks bad out there? Unless these teams do something major in free agency, I can see the younger teams running laps around these guys. Even a team like San Antonio will be harder to face because Wemby got better 2nd half of the year and they have a lot of cap room to bring in help if they want. The only really bad team in the west next year will be Portland

XamosLife

The skill ceiling of the NBA going to increase a lot over the next 5y. It’s not enough to be a very good team anymore. Crazy to say this in an era saturated with greatness already

Embarrassed-Bath4931

Zion tho?????

Solid-Confidence-966

Booker deserves to be in the “future superstar” list, he’s put up better playoff numbers than every player you named expect Luka over a sustained time period.

SevenNegative

Booker is already 27 he's more present star instead of future

ShaiFC

I just separated it based on age groups notice Jokic is in the 2nd group too. Booker is a few years older than Luka and Shai and pretty much a different generation than Wemby and Ant Also I worry about the Suns ability to put a competing roster around him

Dishavingfun

I want OKC to go Red Wedding and get PG13 this summer. Even if it's an overpay, those LAC picks become super valuable.

durmduke

You forgot my boy Sharpe

AlternativeCabin

Zion…? He’s averaging 28 games after only 4 years…? He’s like young too lol

BlackScienceJesus

Uhm yes. Played 70 games, 23/5/6 on 61% TS% with incredible defense down the stretch. Led his team to 49 wins in maybe the best Western conference ever. What more did you want from him?

AlternativeCabin

He played 85 games in three seasons. Also he brings nothing to the table but bullying his way to the left or right of the basket and throwing up a layup. Can’t even make a shot. What game are you watching there boi

BlackScienceJesus

You sound like the same type of idiot that says Giannis has no bag.

AlternativeCabin

Wait what? Did Zion develop a mid range shot or something recently? Please enlighten me I would pick Zion to be my 6th man for sure tho boo boo

BlackScienceJesus

Cringe troll.

AlternativeCabin

Damn I definitely know now nobody in your world messes with you. Insane person to be around.

ToothEducational7795

He literally dropped 40 in his first ever post-season game along with a healthy season. He had a different role this season and Pelicans have scorers like CJ, BI, Trey Murphy on their team in case you think he isn’t worthy of being here because of his low ppg. Luka has Kyrie and rest of the team are not scorers. Ant has KAT and rest aren’t scorers. Ja has JJJ and Bane and rest aren’t scorers. Pelicans have a deep team that doesn’t rely on 2-3 guys. It’s not that Zion’s a bad player compared to these guys you put any of them instead of Zion on that team their numbers will probably go down. Obviously they would still have better numbers than Zion and possibly a better record than how they finished with Zion but still they wouldn’t produce as much in the Pelicans as they did in their own teams.

AlternativeCabin

Ok guys you’re right. Getting swept by OKC, scoring 40 points in a game that is already over is definitely making me think ZION is the gawd. Hell if I had a gun to my head and I was starting an NBA franchise with the first pick - ITS ZION SON!!!! Cannot wait for him to bully his way head down to the basket and throw up a Hail Mary gonna be sick to watch

Agreeable-Handle-355

That game was tied when he got injured, what are you on about? He was literally willing his team to a victory. Do you even watch ball?

AlternativeCabin

He got swept ? Edit* - in the first round

Agreeable-Handle-355

He didn’t play a single minute in the first round. Again, what are you talking about.

AlternativeCabin

Exactly

ToothEducational7795

What exactly bro? He got injured when the game was tied and he had 40 of the points when team had 95 points at the point he left the game. He was carrying the team bro, obviously they had no chance against a healthy OKC team. If you trying to say that he’s injured a lot he literally played 70 games bro. That injury wasn’t even that serious and he actually said he had a chance to come back during the series but the Pelicans couldn’t do shit. Never gave Zion a chance to return.

AlternativeCabin

Ok bro!!!!! Definitely a waste of human to talk to

ToothEducational7795

Whatever you say, pal. I’ve made my point.

Due_Law1961

I feel like Ant is kind of a tier above.
