I really love Mitch. He's the longest tenured Knick and the symbolic transitional piece from the Melo era to what we have now. The Knicks traded Melo to OKC for random dudes like Enes Kanter and a second round pick, which ended up being Mitch back in 2018.
Mitch was really fitting in with having shooters like Brunson/DDV/OG but the injury issues left a lot to be desired. I don't think there's any reason to move him unless you're combining his salary with Bogdanovich to get someone in the 35 mil range.
I'll really miss him, I remember watching his debut in the Summer League and him racking up blocked 3-pointers like his legs were pogo sticks. A true bright spot of the wheezing directionless Knicks before the current era.
Even off the court he was kind and funny, and the story about how he's helped his high school coach after the death of his wife is a tearjerker.
It's unfortunate, I def thought (and to an extent I still do) he had DPOY potential. Dude would play sometimes and just lock the paint down but can't stay healthy unfortunately. Hartenstein is a different player but to me, he proved himself as a reliable core piece this past postseason.
Not a lakers fan in the slightest but I’ve been telling whoever that will listen that the Knicks should try to package up all that draft capital with Bojan and Mitch to go after Davis (if LeBron leaves LA, which I think he does).
The Thunder don’t have guys to match salary & it doesn’t fit their MO to trade a core piece for a star past 30.
The Thunder have had a stockpile of picks for a long, long time now. There’s never been a real indication they’re going to cash them in for a star. They kill the draft, they’re just gonna package picks to move up to get their guy.
Thunder currently don’t have money matchers, Knicks do and offer a more “playoff ready” package, which generates a lot more money and interest vs a rebuild
Knicks have a lot of picks. Also a 31 year old big man isn’t gonna go for a “king’s ransom”, at most it will be what Gobert was traded for, like 4 firsts
The correct thing to do. Hartenstein just suits the modern NBA so much more. Getting better every year too. Outstanding stats per 36 this year and an advanced stats darling.
The Knicks will be really dangerous with Brunson-DiVincenzo-OG-Randle-Hartenstein. Should be able to bring Josh Hart, McBride and Bogdanovic off the bench too.
I personally would like to run it back with Bojan next season to give him full rein as the 6th Man but its looking more like he will be traded before next season starts 😢
Josh Hart is the true 6th man when the starting 5 is healthy. Bogs is too old and unhealthy to rely on. They trying to upgrade. If they can package his deal with Mitch and picks for a real upgrade you do it.
please no. He's 35, just got hurt, and plays no defense. It was an interesting experiment but anything that adds value we can get for him would be great
Isn't the whole point of trading Robinson to open up more cap space to sign Hartenstein though? If they use Robinson and Bogdanovic to go after a big star, wouldn't that still leave them without enough cap space to re-sign Hartenstein?
I thought the Knicks were limited in what they could offer Hartenstein due to not having his Bird rights. Isn't that why the rumors that he'd leave are out there?
If they move pieces they can pay him the max amount any other team can offer as long as they have the cap space. Bird rights is how you overpay compared to the market offers.
Hartenstein is the better option 95% of the time but I will say that Mrob was the way better defender on Embiid in the playoffs. Embiid looked unstoppable that entire series except for when he was guarded by Mrob
Broken clock is right twice a day
If you swing on every single young European with good advanced stats, you'll be right at least some of the time
He also said that Wiseman would be a star, Edwards would bust, Melo would bust. Like that was his prediction for the top 3 draft picks the other year
It's blind luck. He still doesn't even recognize **why** Jokic is good.
It’s possible to have bench players as part of the core. All 3 of those guys played big roles these playoffs. Achiuwa is not like them at all, he’s closer to being out of the league than he is grouped in with them.
They had a ton of success with Steven Adams in Memphis.
Adams is a different player (crushing screen setter) than Robinson (lob threat), but I think Ja would manage.
And an elite rebounder. Memphis needs a center who can do 3 of the following 4 things:
* grab all the boards
* set banger screens
* shoot
* provide secondary rim protection while being able to slow down elite centers
Robinson can do everything but shoot. He'd be the closest thing to Adams that the Grizz could find and he'd be a MASSIVE upgrade as a second rim protector.
Wasn’t trying to imply he was bad or anything. Just noting that Adams was arguably the best in the league (while not a lob threat), whereas Mitch brings other dimensions.
lol no he isn’t. He plays with a weird gait he’s always hunched over setting screens and often slips early without brickwalling a player. He will never put someone on his ass.
You think the Grizz would consider some like Robinson, Bogdan, Dante, and picks for Desmond Bane? Memphis trades 1 starter for 2, a solid bench scorer in Bogdan which they desperately need, and perhaps most importantly, some salary flexibility. Small market team, JJJ is up for a new contract soon. I think the Knicks could maybe do better with that package though.
Idk the combo of Hart/Mitch as a center rotation seems really strong. Hart plays about 30mins, is more vesatile on offense. Mitch can play like 15-20, and hes more rim protection/strength than ihart. There arent many centers on the market that can give you mo Wish we could keep both but trading mitch might be the move
that being said if we bag jarett allen i'd cream
Unless I'm mistaken, the only reason Hartenstein was thought to be possibly leaving was just because other teams (OKC maybe) could pay him more in FA than the Knicks could. Given that, isn't this rumor about instead trading Robinson about opening up more cap space so they can keep Hartenstein without getting outbid by other teams? Seems like keeping both is not realistic unless they can salary dump someone else.
Nah we’re decently over the cap, esp considering OG cap hold/re-sign. We’re never getting under far enough where we can resign iHart with open cap space, even dumping Mitch. The max we’ll be able to offer iHart is that 4 years 17m per year unless we trade Randle or Josh Hart too for space lol.
Trading Mitch is more a separate question of if we can rely on him due to injuries esp if we already have a good starting center
I mean aside from Naz Reid and Gobert, I think iHart/Mitch are the best Center combo in the league. I don’t think paying them 35 mil per year together is such a bad idea.
Yeah but its been 2 Playoffs that we didn't get to have Mitch. He always is injured. And with us signing OG, Leon probably don't want having concerns on 2 players' health
Rudy and Naz make sense being played at the same time though. I can’t see Mitch and iHart playing much together, which makes things a lot harder to stomach.
Where? We are literally stacked at every position.
If we trade Mitch then our current biggest need becomes backup center
Trading Mitch for anything less than a star would be dumb
This is just not true. The team is deep but we’re not stacked at every position. We desperately need a playmaker/shot creator off the bench and we could really use a big wing defender to cover the gaps for inevitable OG injuries. We already went most of the season with Precious as our back up center and still got the 2 seed. I love Mitch’s game but we’re not hurting if he’s moved.
Any of those needs bigger than a backup center?
Bojan is a decent shot creator on the bench and a wing defender would play less minutes than Obi did with OG, Randle and Hart in front of him on the depth chart.
Mitch will at least play 20 minutes behind IHart and even finish games sometimes
We'll probably move Bojan too. Our team will be more balanced if we get a decent backup PG and big. Bojan is too old and its hard to rely on Mitch' health especially now that we have OG too.
Yeah but this one was just egregious. He pretty much said Brunson was telling guys that he was going to be back:
“It does still sound like Dallas is by far the leader in the clubhouse to retain [Jalen Brunson],” Fischer said. “I’ve even heard that he has told former teammates and current teammates that it’s basically like a done deal.”
Sometimes he’s super accurate on things nobody else reported about (like Gobert to Minny or Dejounte to Atlanta)
Other times he’s completely wrong and it’s not even close
Truthfully, you'd have to trade the farm to get him from us. There's no one on the Griz that makes the Knicks better than lines up with his salary, and if the Knicks aren't improving then they're not doing it
To anyone who down voted me please explain how Brandon Clarke and some g leaguer will be a difference maker for NYK
Still fuggin waiting
I won't like it, but I can see some deal centered around Desmond Bane. I think Meech and Bogdan is enough to match contracts. We'd probably throw in our firsts this draft too.
I could see VWJ going if we decide to keep Smart. Would probably have to throw in Kennard for salary matching. Probably a mess of picks going each way to balance it out.
I’d hate to see VWJ go on that robbery of a contract, but we need a center. He’d be a good combo guard next to Brunson too
werent 2 of those picks lottery protected from the Pistons & Wizards. and the 3rd a Nuggets pick? ill need to read what the protections on those picks will end up conveying
regardless I think the way that decision was described was to make sure nobody drafted JDub ahead of them. and that worked out well for them
Knicks had pick 11, OKC 12, Charlotte 13. Knicks trade Dieng for the 3 picks you mentioned and then that Nuggets pick was traded to Charlotte for pick 13, which was then flipped to Detroit.
OKC may have done it to guarantee they got JDub because they knew the Knicks really liked him but they didn't know that the Knicks were never going to take a lottery pick anyways. They were operating on really thin margins to be able to sign Brunson in the off-season and needed to clear cap space, which a lottery pick would have eaten into. The flip of pick 13 to Detroit did yield a Bucks FRP, but the primary purpose was to salary dump Kemba Walker. About two weeks later the Knicks salary dumped Alec Burks and Nerlens Noel to the Pistons again to fully clear the room they needed to sign Brunson.
The Pistons pick might convey by 2027 (1-13 protected 2025, 1-11 in 2026 and 1-9 2027, converts to a 2027 SRP). The Wizards pick is 1-10 2025 and 1-8 2026 converting to 2 SRP. The Nuggets pick ended up in Charlotte (Nick Smith Jr) in the Kemba Walker salary dump.
It was mutual good business; the Knicks needed to get out of the first round to sign Jalen Brunson, and OKC made sure they were the highest bidder in that slot to guarantee drafting JDub. If either of the Detroit/Washington picks convey, even better for the Knicks, but it was a good deal even if they didn't.
Naw, Mitch doesn’t fit OKC at all. Hartenstein wasn’t a perfect fit, but his passing could have made that work. Robinson is a pure rim runner, which the Thunder would have no interest in.
I’ll take size rebounding and interior defense, not everyone needs to know how to pass. Man I wish Adams came around 10y later lol
If we can’t get Hart I’d be happy with Mitch. I think having a lob threat could add another wrinkle to our offenses as well. I can see Jdub or SGA working that into their games
Well, your philosophy differs from Presti’s. This same report from the OP says the Thunder are focused on finding a backup for Chet who fits their 5-out system.
Not every fit can be perfect. Not sure what the other options are out there but I’d rather a good player in Mitch than some random who isn’t as good but fits better. I think either way we need a center who can be capable of grabbing 10+ boards with regular PT. Don’t think a lot of the guys I’ve heard can do that outside of IHart. Brook Lopez could be interesting but his rebounding #s are low. Not sure how good he is there anymore I didn’t watch much bucks this year.
I don’t want KAT at all. Markannen is best case but that may never happen for a variety of reasons. Idk if OG is the best mutual fit either and other contenders gonna be gunning for him.
I feel like stubbornly sticking to a 5 out system no matter what is going to limit your championship aspirations, no?
Sooner or later, one of your best of 7 series is going to be a buzz saw that will scheme and execute the perfect counter to it like how Minnesota did to Denver.
Sure, I suppose if you have 5 starters + 3 elite bench guys capable of above average defense, a 6’4” guard who out rebounds most bigs and hit 40% from 3 in any given game, you could win a chip with 5 out- why didn’t Presti think of that from the beginning, is he stupid?
They’ll definitely need to add more size, but I think they’re prioritizing size that fits the system. They’re pretty clearly building in the Celtics’ image, and I think sticking to that system enhances their title chances, not limits them. They have to find the right finishing pieces, though. And finding a bigger frontcourt player who can fit the system while also addressing some of their weaknesses will not be easy.
I get not spending significant assets on a non-shooting 5 just to bench him during crunch time, but there are plenty of cheaper options out there. I just don't understand why Presti doesn't value team versatility. I think it would be useful for SGA and JDub to be able get some reps with a traditional rim-running 5 in the regular season so they can be ready for it in the playoffs if they come across a bad matchup. The 2020 Lakers was a great example of this. Howard and McGee were invaluable against DEN, but both were benched for Markieff in the Finals against MIA. (MIN and DAL were great counter-examples of this too. MIN didn't have the wings to guard DAL PnR actions and DAL didn't have a reliable stretch 5 to punish BOS).
I love having two 7 footers, but Hartenstein is definitely better overall due to his passing and better offensive range. Now we need a backup big and Taj Gibson ain't walking through that door.
But they can use that $14-$15M AAV in say a Brunson extension or OG's contract to stay below the apron. Plus, after what the Knicks endured last season, they need a backup center that can stay healthy and space the floor. Mitch is neither of those things, plus a horrible FT shooter. I love Mitch, his defense and rebounding are excellent, but not what this team needs anymore.
Losing Robinson is way worse than the potential downsides of the second apron, assuming you’re talking about just salary dumping him. We’re not even that close to the 2nd apron anyways. Thibs wants centers who can play good D and rebound, we don’t need a 3pt shooting big, and Robinson was ELITE defensively to start this season. I’d rather have the guy who single handedly won us a playoff series against Cleveland, was huge in shutting down Embiid and winning last series, than the flexibility to trade a draft pick 7 years from now
He’s a dime a dozen rim runner. He does some nice things but he limits the Knicks offensively, can’t stay on the court and he can barely catch a basketball these days. Idk what happened to his hands but they’re bad these days.
If we can get some decent value for him I’m all for trading him.
Tell me you only care about offense without telling me. Why do you think people value Jarrett Allen so much? Definitely not for his offense. Defense and offensive rebounds at elite levels are highly valued
Defense and rebounding is obviously important but we get from Hartenstien. He is going to get 30+ minutes a night because he's the better player. If Mitch has a much value as you think then we'll get something nice for him in a trade.
Even Precious can fill Mitch's shoes for 15 minutes a night.
And Jarrett Allen is also mid.
Fisher is reporting every rumors and every talks so take it into consideration before coming to conclusion but it’s the right move, Mitch seems a bit injury prone and I’m not sure he would be okay coming from the bench or having way less minutes.
IF this is the only way to re-sign hartenstein, then this is the correct choice. BUT I'll be damed if I didn't want to run it back with this squad being healthy next year. Really think we could do some damage.
iHart proved himself last year, but Mitch is still super important to our lineup. And he has 2 more years. At least wait another season to trade him.
I love Mitch but its been painful the last few seasons when he gets injured/ruled out for an extended period, especially in the playoffs.
Glad to hear an update on Hartenstein but we will need to find a rim protecting big that can fill in when Hartenstein gets into foul trouble or gets cooked (like he did against Embiid in the 1st Round)
Knicks should move up to draft Zach Edey as Robinson’s replacement. He will prove all of the haters wrong, just as he has his entire career.
Bill Walton, Ralph Sampson, and Zach Edey: The only players to win multiple Naismith awards.
Ralph Sampson and Zach Edey: The only two players to ever win multiple Wooden awards.
Edey only missed one game his entire college career. And he has only played basketball six years. Everyone who is about to respond to this post criticizing is going to look pretty dumb in a few years after Edey proves himself in the NBA. These same fools will be the same ones who said everyone knew Edey would become a star as they post shit whining about how their team should have taken him in the middle of the first round. Just watch.
It's the right move. Mitch just can't stay healthy and is a liability at this point. Would make at tremendous backup on a team that can manage his minutes, or a team that wants to split minutes between bigs.
Maybe this is how Ingram gets moved? Bogdanovic and Mitchell Robinson have to be close to Ingram's number right? And if you guys don't want Bogdanovic, you can decline his team option and save 17 mill in cap space after the trade.
Blazers : we'll give you Timelord
NYK : no no guys u don't get it - we need the space so we can keep HS.
Yo Presti do you want Timelord or Mitchell?
Presti - I'll take Donovan, we got the space, no picks tho, I got them in the incubator rn, their bones are still hardening as we speak, can't disturb that.
NYK - no no we meant Robinson or Timelord
Presti - oh, no man, we don't need a Center. But listen - Ainge got room in the yard
NYK - yo Ainge , can u use a Robinson 40% off pre draft sale?
Ainge - sure , ya'll came to the right place my friend. Let me check the hooves, hmmm... 2 SRP.
NYK - deal. Which picks are you giving us?
Silence.
Hello? Ainge? Hello?!

They need to pay Hartenstein and Robinson's value will only go down with injuries. This is the time to do it.

I dont see how lebron leave LA.
Why would the Lakers make this awful trade? They could trade AD to the thunder or another pick heavy team for a king's ransom.
The Thunder don’t have guys to match salary & it doesn’t fit their MO to trade a core piece for a star past 30. The Thunder have had a stockpile of picks for a long, long time now. lol. One of the worst trade ideas I’ve seen. Would never happen under any circumstance.

I understand the vision you have but LaVine isn’t the one for NY
The correct thing to do. Hartenstein just suits the modern NBA so much more. Getting better every year too. Outstanding stats per 36 this year and an advanced stats darling. We've been injured for so long that even our fans forgot Josh Hart is our super sub lol
Haha facts
Bojan does have solid shot creation/iso that we didn't get to see much this season with us but fair point about the age
Bojan's shot creation is pretty unnecessary, though. They already have guys who are better at it. It's like Giddey's ballhandling on OKC.
would have helped a lot against Indiana if he wasn't injured tbh, especially off the bench if you ask me (and in non-Brunson minutes)
Thibs would rather have a 3 and d guy.
please no. He's 35, just got hurt, and plays no defense. It was an interesting experiment but anything that adds value we can get for him would be great
Nah, Bogs is gonna be used as a salary matcher for whoever we trade for next. I doubt he’d be shipped off with Mitchell Robinson.
I mean what if who they are trading for is making 35 million?
Bogs + Robinson for Miles Bridges in a S&T
Fuck Miles, but Mikal though... Nets wont ever trade him to us though.
Yeah, let’s keep that wife beater far away from the Knicks.
imagine "we men you can assume" part 2
Eh we’re set at wing and fuck bridges
Low-key kinda hope it works out so we can finally get a MSG finals game.
Bruce Brown trade incoming?
Oh man, crazy you got downvoted because this would be a fantastic move. He’d fit perfectly with this gritty, selfless Knicks team.
Isn't the whole point of trading Robinson to open up more cap space to sign Hartenstein though? If they use Robinson and Bogdanovic to go after a big star, wouldn't that still leave them without enough cap space to re-sign Hartenstein?
No they can afford both it's more payroll reshuffling to different positions so there isn't so much wrapped up in the Center position
I could see a Brook Lopez for Robinson/ Bogdanovic trade benefitting both teams
Why would we trade 2 rotation pieces for a 36 year old center. We don’t even use shooting bigs. Would make no sense
Hartenstein is the better option 95% of the time but I will say that Mrob was the way better defender on Embiid in the playoffs. Embiid looked unstoppable that entire series except for when he was guarded by Mrob
I think for the type of ball the Knicks play they need a solid center and a solid backup center. They need two big men on the roster
Don’t all rosters need at least 2 good centers? Seems to be the glaring hole in so many teams is not having a backup who can play 15 min
I think it depends on what kind of team. The Knicks depend a lot of defense and hustle/offensive rebound type plays.
Andre Drummond it is then
Who was the guy who predicted the hartenstein thing? Jokic guy.
eg24000 or something.
He also predicted Sengun. Dudes a bit off the rocker with the misses but his stats analysis is onto something
Broken clock is right twice a day If you swing on every single young European with good advanced stats, you'll be right at least some of the time He also said that Wiseman would be a star, Edwards would bust, Melo would bust. Like that was his prediction for the top 3 draft picks the other year It's blind luck. He still doesn't even recognize **why** Jokic is good.
Who is their backup center
I heard P and KG hype them up and had that Walter White you’re god damn right playing in my head
Plus achiuwa if they offload robinson
Achiuwa shouldn’t factor into their “core” at all lol
Guy i replied to named a starting 5 and 3 bench players?
It’s possible to have bench players as part of the core. All 3 of those guys played big roles these playoffs. Achiuwa is not like them at all, he’s closer to being out of the league than he is grouped in with them.
Isn't OG rumored to not want a contract from NY? They could be losing him for nothing potentially.
No he just wants them to pay him more
Mitch seems like a perfect fit in memphis
they would need to find a way to keep him healthy for 82+ games but yeah a pretty nice fit
That's what makes him the perfect fit, he has just the right amount of injuries to fit in there
Good thing Memphis has a knack for keeping guys healthy.
Idk bout that. He clogs the paint, which is where Ja operates the most.
They had a ton of success with Steven Adams in Memphis. Adams is a different player (crushing screen setter) than Robinson (lob threat), but I think Ja would manage.

I’m a Knicks fan that loves Mitch as a player but I can say confidently that he sets the softest screens
When did this change happen? He set the worst screens on the team for almost his whole career.
Memphis has been inquiring about Nic Claxton and their name has came up with Donovan Clingan. I don’t think they’re interested in a 5-out offense.
Mitch for Smart swap?
Mitch for Ja straight swap, who says no?
You think the Grizz would consider some like Robinson, Bogdan, Dante, and picks for Desmond Bane? Memphis trades 1 starter for 2, a solid bench scorer in Bogdan which they desperately need, and perhaps most importantly, some salary flexibility. Small market team, JJJ is up for a new contract soon. I think the Knicks could maybe do better with that package though.
Zero chance
We’ve won, but at what cost?
I crave death
It sucks but this was the most likely outcome. You can’t contend investing 35 million a year into non all-star/superstar centers.
Idk the combo of Hart/Mitch as a center rotation seems really strong. Hart plays about 30mins, is more vesatile on offense. Mitch can play like 15-20, and hes more rim protection/strength than ihart. There arent many centers on the market that can give you mo Wish we could keep both but trading mitch might be the move that being said if we bag jarett allen i'd cream
Kinda doubt the guy who said the lights of the 1st Round were too bright while playing in Cleveland would be successful playing in MSG
More Experience counts for something
He looked far better this yr up until his injury compared to last year
Unless I'm mistaken, the only reason Hartenstein was thought to be possibly leaving was just because other teams (OKC maybe) could pay him more in FA than the Knicks could. Given that, isn't this rumor about instead trading Robinson about opening up more cap space so they can keep Hartenstein without getting outbid by other teams? Yeah but its been 2 Playoffs that we didn't get to have Mitch. He always is injured. And with us signing OG, Leon probably don't want having concerns on 2 players' health
I assume Ihart would also want to start and get solid minutes.
Rudy and Naz make sense being played at the same time though. I can’t see Mitch and iHart playing much together, which makes things a lot harder to stomach.
Why? All that matters is one is always on the court. They can both start and both can play in clutch time.
We’re over the cap with or without Mitch though so what’s the point of trading him
Because you wouldn’t be trading him in a salary dump. You’d be trading him to improve somewhere else.
Where? We are literally stacked at every position. If we trade Mitch then our current biggest need becomes backup center Trading Mitch for anything less than a star would be dumb
This is just not true. The team is deep but we’re not stacked at every position. We desperately need a playmaker/shot creator off the bench and we could really use a big wing defender to cover the gaps for inevitable OG injuries. Yes they are. Again we got to the second seed with precious as the backup 5. He’s a restricted free agent we can bring him back.
Bruh I went from crazy excited to really sad in under five seconds Not sure how reliable Fischer is though
Fischer reports on like every rumor so take it with a grain of salt but the unexpected ones tend to be decently accurate.
His hit rate is less than the top end insiders because unlike them he suggests everything he hears from sources
He once said that Brunson to Dallas was a done deal, couple days later he signed with the knicks.
Everything he says is a real rumor he heard, not all of the rumors he hears end up being true. I think that's the best description of his reporting
Yeah but this one was just egregious. He pretty much said Brunson was telling guys that he was going to be back: “It does still sound like Dallas is by far the leader in the clubhouse to retain [Jalen Brunson],” Fischer said. “I’ve even heard that he has told former teammates and current teammates that it’s basically like a done deal.”
Begley just corroborated
Sometimes he’s super accurate on things nobody else reported about (like Gobert to Minny or Dejounte to Atlanta) Other times he’s completely wrong and it’s not even close
So unreliable
He's normally not crazy reliable, but other closer sources said similar.
He is very reliable
he is more of a rumor mill machine in contrast to our guy Begley where its pretty much confirmed/existing
We got Steven Adams already, but if he’s not healthy, I would love Mitch in Houston.
Mitchell Robinson, you are a Grizzly
If (big if) he’s healthy, that’s a huge rebounding boost and yet another shot-blocking presence. Cheap too for his skills, I dig the fit
Truthfully, you'd have to trade the farm to get him from us. There's no one on the Griz that makes the Knicks better than lines up with his salary, and if the Knicks aren't improving then they're not doing it To anyone who down voted me please explain how Brandon Clarke and some g leaguer will be a difference maker for NYK Still fuggin waiting
I won't like it, but I can see some deal centered around Desmond Bane. I think Meech and Bogdan is enough to match contracts. We'd probably throw in our firsts this draft too.
Asking for Desmond Bane for Robinson and Bogdan would get your number blocked
VWJ or GG? If we ask nicely
I could see VWJ going if we decide to keep Smart. Would probably have to throw in Kennard for salary matching. Probably a mess of picks going each way to balance it out. I’d hate to see VWJ go on that robbery of a contract, but we need a center. He’d be a good combo guard next to Brunson too
No way we trade Vince. Too good, too cheap.
No and no.
lol Memphis ain’t trading bane for Robinson.2024 frps are worthless to the grizzlies too.
knicks fans are peak delusional
Presti is going to trade Dieng for Robinson lol
Funny thing is that the Knicks have 3 extra picks that OKC gave them for the pick that became Dieng.
werent 2 of those picks lottery protected from the Pistons & Wizards. and the 3rd a Nuggets pick? ill need to read what the protections on those picks will end up conveying regardless I think the way that decision was described was to make sure nobody drafted JDub ahead of them. and that worked out well for them
Knicks had pick 11, OKC 12, Charlotte 13.
Man I wish Adams came around 10y later lol If we can’t get Hart I’d be happy with Mitch.
The priority needs to be shooting+rebounding. Mitch only brings one of those. Markannen, KAT, or OG would be a better fit
Worked out alright for the Celtics this season.
OKC has assets. they can afford to be patient and specific with their wants
He's gonna sign Gorgui Dieng to trade him for Mitch and the Knicks vibes will get even better
gave him up for 1/2 a season of washed john wall. paul george you will NOT see the pearly gates.
EG died for our sins
NOOOOO not big MEECH
I love having two 7 footers, but Hartenstein is definitely better overall due to his passing and better offensive range. Now we need a backup big and Taj Gibson ain't walking through that door.
Wait is hart really that much better than Robinson? I thoguht robinson was a better rim protector and moved laterally better??
Availability is the best ability. Ihart also helps run our offense much smoother with his passing
Yes ihart is significantly better than mitch
Fuck this, we need both of them. It's not like we can pay iHart more by moving Mitch.
I’d rather have the guy who single handedly won us a playoff series against Cleveland, was huge in shutting down Embiid and winning last series, than the flexibility to trade a draft pick 7 years from now
Sorry bro. This front office has shown they’re not attached to mid players just because they’re homegrown.
Calling Mitch mid is crazy work. When he’s healthy the man is a rebounding animal and defensive menace
Do you not remember that Cleveland series where he outrebounded the entire team or were you too young?
He’s a nice player but unreliable. Best ability is availability.
Please do not let okc get him..
Big meeeeeech nooooo! I love Mitch please at least send him somewhere he’ll be happy like OKC or New Orleans (near his home)
Honorary Wildcat
Okc are gonna get Robinson for a 1st round pick
Would be great for the Grizzlies to try and nab him but again they don't need more injury plagued players at all.
NOW GET OG BACK
Trading Mitch is a huge mistake. When healthy he is arguably one of the best players on the Knicks.
WHAT??? They better not move Mitch!
If he can stay healthy, would absolutely love him on the Lakers. We need a center badly
One meech pls
Makes sense after Hartenstein showed what he could do with/for the Knicks this playoff run.
you used him to son our team and now you're just gonna leave him hanging????
This is tough but makes sense. Robinson's skill set is a little easier to replace than iHart's, but I love me some big Mitch.
I’ll go crazy if we don’t at least hear anything about Pelicans interest in Robinson.
Maybe this is how Ingram gets moved? Bogdanovic and Mitchell Robinson have to be close to Ingram's number right? And if you guys don't want Bogdanovic, you can decline his team option and save 17 mill in cap space after the trade.
Ehh Mitch is injury prone enough i can understand some teams not being super interested
mitch has to go. too injured too often.
Plumlee to OKC confirmed
I dont get this… Mitch + Hart is such an ideal rotation at the 5. It makes more sense to just keep both and then try to upgrade Randle.
Blazers : we'll give you Timelord NYK : no no guys u don't get it - we need the space so we can keep HS. Yo Presti do you want Timelord or Mitchell? Presti - I'll take Donovan, we got the space, no picks tho, I got them in the incubator rn, their bones are still hardening as we speak, can't disturb that. NYK - no no we meant Robinson or Timelord Presti - oh, no man, we don't need a Center. But listen - Ainge got room in the yard NYK - yo Ainge , can u use a Robinson 40% off pre draft sale? Ainge - sure , ya'll came to the right place my friend. Let me check the hooves, hmmm... 2 SRP. NYK - deal. Which picks are you giving us? Silence. Hello? Ainge? Hello?!
Who the hell is HS?
