I have a yearly NFS rotation starting from whatever I have installed to Heat. I skip The Run (I don't know why), HP and MW2012. This year I'm gonna play all of them though.
I play the older games more than I play the new ones. Played through Payback, Heat and Unbound, and did enjoy them, even did a second run of Payback, or part of one, but even the best of them doesn't come close to the older games imo.
It's a bit of nostalgia for sure, since I grew up playing from NFS III onwards, but handling models in the older games are just better imo, and there's a magic that's been lost.
Not just from the Black Box era to now, but even from pre-Black Box to the Black Box era, something was lost. The old games not being open world means there is so much more creativity in the tracks and their environments, and that's something I really miss.
I get why it's always open worlds with masses of customisation now though. It's the standard, and for a reason.
Oh come on. It's your opinion. If I were to choose one NFS game, I would play Underground but come on. Those old games are shit compared to any new game. The handling was, well, unique. The rubber banding though. Maaaaan the rubber banding sucks. It makes the game feel like FIFA. Scripted.
I have most of the NFS games except the 2015 version since its only online and my internet can be iffy i avoid online only games. But I still find myself going back to playing NFS High Stakes, Porsche Unleashed, NFS Hot Pursuit 2 PS2 version, Most Wanted, Carbon, Hot Pursuit 2010, Most Wanted 2012, Rivals and Heat.
In fact lately I play NFS HP2 the most. I miss the video replay back from back then. I enjoy watching video of myself driving in different cinematic camera angles. I wish this feature would come back or if someone could mod it to newer NFS games.
Today I played some nfs underground 2 and it felt so good. The music, the vibrant city lights, the voice messages, car customization, none of that heat tap throttle to drift bs....
I've been playing NFS 2015, Heat and Unbound lately and I just have a fuckload of fun playing them. My only regret is with Unbound in that I read some terrible reviews that trashed it and thus waited over a year to get it very cheap ($15 for the Palace Edition) and now I'm absolutely in love with the game. I need to remember to give less credence to reviews.
Oh excuse me for wanting quality, no nonsense racing instead of woke influencer trash full of micro transactions, recycled content, and shit multiplayer
Talking mainly about Unbound when I say that. You canât tell me those characters arenât wannabe influencers who try argue that vehicular manslaughter is âartâ
Nah thereâs this one character named Justicia who is used to push a certain agenda. I wonât go into anymore detail but if you played the game yk what Iâm talking about. Also the racers accuse the mayor of oppressing them and silencing them. Like come on bro youâre going 150 in a school zone
The older games maximized their potential with the resources they were given. The newer games have triple the budget and number of devs, yet itâs one step forwards two steps back every single time
I don't know, I haven't played many of the previous games, the last one, before returning, was Carbon. Just recently I returned playing Heat and bought Unbound. But I see many players expressing the desire for playing previous NFS and it puzzles me, but there is a point in what you say, I don't know... maybe you're right
Heat was a step in the right direction, but Unbound didnât capitalize on that momentum at all. While they added their own touch to it, itâs not enough to justify a $70 price tag at launch. And the âupdatesâ theyâve been making take way too long and donât improve the game enough
>number of devs,
Criterion has around 90 devs, Blackbox had around 400(And yes in worse scenario they worked on 4 games same time, its ProStreet, Undercover, Skate and NBA Street Homecourt times), so nope, but still agree, NFS Unbound is shit xD
Even worse. Billion dollar EA canât even give their studios the money for staff. I bet 70 out of the 90 devs have been sent to work on Battlefield leaving 20 to NFS. No wonder they canât make a great game despite having more money now
They shouldnât have listened to fans too much cuz we donât always know what we want until we find it but they at least couldâve taken inspiration from older games and even recent titles to add to their foundation. I loved Heat but there were so many plot holes in the story. And Unbound made it worse with the âracers are victimsâ crap.
But yeah the soundtrack needs work. There are sooooo many different artists, big and small, out there across all the genres. Even if you canât afford the big artists, there are a bunch of independent ones looking for their big break
>They shouldnât have listened to fans too much cuz we donât always know what we want until we find it but they at least couldâve taken inspiration from older games and even recent titles to add to their foundation. From post-BlackBox era, i liked story in 2015 and a bit of Payback(Old good revenge), so a mix of 2015 story with Payback minus annoying characters and F&F things for me will be best
>But yeah the soundtrack needs work. There are sooooo many different artists, big and small, out there across all the genres. Even if you canât afford the big artists, there are a bunch of independent ones looking for their big break
Even in "Golden era of NFS" most artist weren't very popular before appearance in NFS(For me NFS, Burnout and Tony Hawks was something like Spotify Discover XD) so yes they should search for small artist/independent from many genres
What about players like me who enjoy the new games and still play the older ones once every while
Yep, I do the same thing
No he doesn't otherwise he wouldn't have made the meme lol /s
I'll do it in the future then đ
I have a yearly NFS rotation starting from whatever I have installed to Heat. I skip The Run (I don't know why), HP and MW2012. This year I'm gonna play all of them though.
you gonna start all the way from NFS 1 1994 to Unbound?
The run is short and the soundtrack is amazing and visuals still hold up but game feels very unfinished . You will be done with it in 3-3.5 hours
Underground 2 and the Original Most Wanted need a redux.
I play the older games more than I play the new ones. No shit of course its his opinion. Does every sentence needs to end with "in my opinion"?
Both games have their ups and downs, the older nfs games having the biggest up though being that they're all free to download đ€
Can we enjoy something without other ppl bitching?
In Reddit? hell no
I guess you forgot this is Reddit that also, acts like a bunch of Twitter fiends?
unbound haters do be like this
đ

High Stakes and HP2 for PS2 were peak NfS
Today I played some nfs underground 2 and it felt so good. The music, the vibrant city lights, the voice messages, car customization, none of that heat tap throttle to drift bs....
I'm playing need for speed payback for the first time!
That most wanted unity remake and that underground 2 unreal remake is gonna get em to try it out
hope EA doesn't take down

When I finished the story for heat đ went back and played every single one đ©
I just downloaded nfs mw 2005 and I feel so nostalgic, just beated TAZ
Nfs mw 05 solos đ„±
If one is to understand "the NFS series" one must study all it's aspects.
I wish they could bring back NFS ProStreet on new consoles. That game was a gem on its own. The gameplay physics were really good!
Question, who has NFS SE 2 and HP3 along with High Stakes?
Hey unbound is a good game, just bad singleplayer but great multiplayer
Oh excuse me for wanting quality, no nonsense racing instead of woke influencer trash full of micro transactions, recycled content, and shit multiplayer
I mean, I prefer the old games, but "woke influencer trash"? What? Lmao
Talking mainly about Unbound when I say that. You canât tell me those characters arenât wannabe influencers who try argue that vehicular manslaughter is âartâ
I agree there, but it sure as shit ain't "woke" lol. It's just stupid, that's all it is.
Nah thereâs this one character named Justicia who is used to push a certain agenda. I wonât go into anymore detail but if you played the game yk what Iâm talking about. Also the racers accuse the mayor of oppressing them and silencing them. Like come on bro youâre going 150 in a school zone
I played the game, but I couldn't roll my eyes harder at that "push a certain agenda" if I tried. No agenda was being pushed. At all.
If you didnât think so then more power to you I guess
Then don't play it
I already did smart ass. Thatâs why I said what I said
Bro is volatile ong
Fuck around and find out lil bro
Actually, I'm taking no sides, just stating facts đ€· I see players say they want to return to the previous games
The older games maximized their potential with the resources they were given. The newer games have triple the budget and number of devs, yet itâs one step forwards two steps back every single time

True, if only they listened to fans, they would create one of best NFS, but nope - amd they had some brand manager who thinks NFS is about hiphop xD
They shouldnât have listened to fans too much cuz we donât always know what we want until we find it but they at least couldâve taken inspiration from older games and even recent titles to add to their foundation.
