That's my main issue as well, because the split the track list between day an night there are only a handful of song for each. So if you're grinding for money during the day you're gonna hear the same few songs constantly
Not just day and night, some tracks are garage only (those are some of my favorite). Spreads it way too thin and you can repeat songs in as little as 30-45 minutes of driving around which is just atrocious.
See, this is fair. Plus the way they split it between night and day as well. Sometimes I wanna get lit in the day time and some nights I'd rather just chill.
I would say some of the music was mismanaged imo (the day cruising music leaves a bit to be desired), also there are some people in this sub that were upset with the fact that there's no rock in the game despite it not fitting the game's overall vibe.
Imo music in such games doesn't have to fit with the vibe but with your actions. Look at Forza Horizon 5. Rock and Metal doesn't fit its vibe at all but it still has decent amount of songs from both genres regardless.
For some it’s the Spanish songs, it didn’t bother me as much since it was set in Miami and some of the characters where Hispanic but that’s what I’m gathering so take it with a grain of salt lol
The roaming night songs are also quite.. lame? They really don't give you that sense of errieness, some do, but others just fall on their face.
Also that Goku song is rarely on race rotation, which sucks because it is one of the better ones
I think it’s because a lot of the music in this game isn’t really suited for a *racing* game, even though they may be good songs. Soundtrack in every NFS tries to match the overall vibe and atmosphere of the setting, and Heat is no exception, but I think it leans too heavily into cheery Spanish music. It doesn’t have that energy and pace that makes you wanna go fast.
Night time music is better as it tries to embrace the whole dangerous and illegal aspect of racing more, but a lot of the racing music kinda sounds like nothing but a drum machine beat with no texture or… well, music to it, at least to me personally.
It also doesn’t help that while the overall size of the tracklist is pretty good, the fact that it’s divided into daytime cruising, daytime racing, garage, night cruising and night racing makes it so that every section only gets a small handful of songs which tend to get really repetitive over time.
I think there's a large part of the community that doesn't like EDM music, HipHop or Reggeaton. A lot of those people would rather prefer rock or metal or at the very least see those kinds of songs getting thrown into the playlist.
Personally I have no problem with the music, just like in Unbound. EDM, HipHop and Reggeaton are a few of my favorite genres and prefer rock and metal to be kept out. But I wouldn't object to it if it were to happen. Just not as a replacement but rather as an addition.
They could also take a note from Forza Horizon or The Crew adding different radiostations, but if you want your game to have a certain "tone of voice" that wouldn't be the way to do it.
Edit: NFS having a full rock or metal OST wouldn't be that bad perse, but I think it would better fit in a new Burnout title rather than NFS. But I guess we'll have to accept that Burnout is probably never coming back.
For me, it was useless in terms of giving adrenaline while racing at high speeds through traffic.
I liked the soundtrack of payback for racing. And I don’t mind Unbound’s neither. A lot of heat’s day songs gave me less adrenaline and more chill vibes. Fair enough, but not what I like in my racing games
Because while the songs may fit the vibe that the game was going for but they did not fit for a RACING game, they just don’t have the energy to make me wanna go fast ya know? They would have been better off during the downtime at the garage.
Take a look at Undercover for example. Set in Miami but that didn’t stop Black Box from including the likes of Pendulum, Mindless Self-Indulgence, From First To Last, The Qemists and Airbourne.
The selection was too small (day race/day cruise, night race/ night cruise were separate) the Latin music only fit the location but wasn't great for racing the hip hop was ok but all in all the repetitiveness kills the soundtrack.
EA Trax would've help alleviate this by letting you pick what plays and when.
>! MAXIMIZE ALL THE PLEASURE !<
The music audio doesn’t even work for me. I can only hear like some of the lyrics of a small portion of the songs… but TU MANERA TU MANERA absolutely blares for some reason. 🤦🏻♂️
I feel like modern NFS games music choices are, funnily enough, "car radio" music, which, might seem logical, but it isnt exaclly, for exemple, on NFS Carbon, all the races had specific themes, which a lot of people hated because it was too repetitive, but on the other hand, it would put us on that "im racing" mindset, something that lacks with modern "car radio" songs.
In other words, modern music isnt good for car culture as a whole, it doesnt fit.
I just mute the music and play Midnight Club II’s soundtrack. Still holds up as the best racing soundtrack I’ve ever heard for a game from, 2003 I think. NFS hasn’t had a soundtrack that I REALLY liked since Hot Pursuit 2, Underground and Underground 2 all back to back to back.
Damn people hate the soundtracks? It's pretty good tbh, I am not a fan of listening to English and other songs but I like the soundtracks in NFS heat and fh4.
It's a matter of personal taste. Not everyone is into this sort of music. Similar with NFS Unbound.
Back in the age of dinosaurs, Need for Speed games actually let you select what type of music you preferred. I'm talking specifically about the first three games, where you could pick either electronic or rock soundtracks. I wish that feature would come back.
Lack of genre variety and racing music is too chill. I liked some of the game's tracks for the garage or maybe free roam, but you can't use those same tracks when pushing that Lambo at 380km/h.
I played Heat quite a lot but all of the songs felt forgettable. None of them exactly matched the feeing of going absurdly fast while trying to pass another car also going absurdly fast. I’m sure the songs are good on their own, but they’re not really great for a racing game.
To me the music sounds like something I’d hear on a car radio but it doesn’t really sound like that adrenaline or upbeat music that Asphalt games have or previous need for speed games have.
So like Asphalt’s soundtracks Renegade and Legendary
Or Going Down on it and Edge of the Earth if you want some Need for Speed Examples
My opinions:
-Song Too repititve. Its like 10 song average for each section day, night, roam or cruise.
-Day song does match the summer Miami Vibe but the choice is a bit weak. But hey old school F&F or NFSUC uses Latin song and it has energy.
-Night song, does fit too but again, lack of music choices.
-Race Music. Some of them hits but most feels like being put there for the sake of putting there. Especially the day race ones.
- EDM on the most part sounds good. The chill vibes for the garage feels empowering. Day race feels bouncy. The aggresive Night EDM does fit the high stakes feel of night racing and also fit with Ultra Miami Festival.
- Lack of rock and Metal Music, understandable but it wasn't the desicion that Ghost can made unless if they have a creative freedom.
The music during the day is utter trash and really, really repetitive. The music at night just feels like average TikTok music. That's why I don't like the soundtrack at all apart from the daytime pursuit theme.
Too much Spanish music. Not that it’s bad there is just way too much especially for the day time. There needs to be more diversity. NFS Unbound did a great job with the sound track minus a couple of absolute trash songs mainly “Maso” or whatever fucking worst song EVER
It isn't "used to", it is what the average person in this sub likes, which in of itself isn't a problem. What we end up getting is what is trending in the chart, with a mix of outside influence to vary the soundtrack a bit. This is done to keep the game feel like it was released in its time, rather than feel like it is a relic of the past that it isn't (which imo is a good thing)
My personal taste in music is all over the place, a mix of 80s RnR, mid 2000s rock and DnB, with some sprinkled metal just to up the excitement a notch.
Tracklist is too small. It gets repetitive. That’s my only gripe.
That's my main issue as well, because the split the track list between day an night there are only a handful of song for each. So if you're grinding for money during the day you're gonna hear the same few songs constantly

Yeah I have nothing against most of the songs, but they repeat incredibly often. After 1 play session I’m already full of it.
See, this is fair. Plus the way they split it between night and day as well. Sometimes I wanna get lit in the day time and some nights I'd rather just chill.
Apparently there was going to be more tracks added that were found in the files of the game.
I would say some of the music was mismanaged imo (the day cruising music leaves a bit to be desired), also there are some people in this sub that were upset with the fact that there's no rock in the game despite it not fitting the game's overall vibe.

Rock actually does fit in with FH5.
Why not in modern Need For Speed?
Doesn’t at all
And it leaves the game soulless and without a direction
For some it’s the Spanish songs, it didn’t bother me as much since it was set in Miami and some of the characters where Hispanic but that’s what I’m gathering so take it with a grain of salt lol
The roaming night songs are also quite.. lame? They really don't give you that sense of errieness, some do, but others just fall on their face. Also that Goku song is rarely on race rotation, which sucks because it is one of the better ones
If it plays its gonna end cuz of a pursuit 😂😭
I think it’s because a lot of the music in this game isn’t really suited for a *racing* game, even though they may be good songs. Dont know , i love it tbh
Too many Latin songs
Oye chico quediablosestandiciendoconesoslabiosquediotumadrehjdbdjsjhsbjaihdbfhjrjebbdbd
it takes place in a Miami-style city, of course there’s going to be Hispanic/latin music
I think there's a large part of the community that doesn't like EDM music, HipHop or Reggeaton. I loved the garage music
Same, Guitar Song and Pro were the best songs in the game
I don’t really remember much of Heat soundtrack but I don’t like it because the list is too small and repetitive.
Almost like music is subjective 🤔
For me, it was useless in terms of giving adrenaline while racing at high speeds through traffic. I liked the soundtrack of payback for racing. And I don’t mind Unbound’s neither. Because NFS players are old and white.
I love it. It intoduced me to Logic and Denzel Curry
I didn't hate it, but i don't remember any of it
I think mixed up the games. Is Unbound’s music most people hate
Both soundtracks are hated. I'm only asking about Heat's soundtrack because I didn't understand the hate unlike with Unbound's soundtrack.
they both suck but Unbound's soundtrack has more bangers
The selection was too small (day race/day cruise, night race/ night cruise were separate) the Latin music only fit the location but wasn't great for racing the hip hop was ok but all in all the repetitiveness kills the soundtrack. It's very hit or miss, some songs make me wanna die but some are songs that basically got me into their genres (ish)
heat music is a godsend after the earrape that's unbound's perhaps it was judged too harshly 🤣
I like it?
Damn people hate the soundtracks? It's pretty good tbh, I am not a fan of listening to English and other songs but I like the soundtracks in NFS heat and fh4.

Night music hits hard.
Lack of genre variety and racing music is too chill. I liked some of the game's tracks for the garage or maybe free roam, but you can't use those same tracks when pushing that Lambo at 380km/h.

the genre doesnt fit a racing game, its not intensive, its not fast paced. and it just sounds dumb imo
because it's "manele"

I hated it at first, but I grew to love it because the soundtrack just fits the vibe of the game perfectly. I just wish it was a bit longer
Same here
The music during the day is utter trash and really, really repetitive. The music at night just feels like average TikTok music. That's why I don't like the soundtrack at all apart from the daytime pursuit theme.

Because we were so used to rock, metal, electronic and others And I'm pretty sure they hate the unbound soundtrack way more
