We should take that little bit of land, then whatever it takes ot annex Wilmington and Rehoboth to Ocean City.
I know Wilmington isn't exactly the nicest of cities, but it could help defend against Pennsylvania.
You and /u/fyre2387 are commanders on the ~~assault team~~ liberation peacekeepers
Don't worry.. it three day special operation. In and out. NATO will be too scared to get involved.
That’s so cool! I’m jealous. I stayed for several overnights on the USS Intrepid which was also constructed around the same time that the NJ was. That span of time from ‘39-‘41. It was also all grey, very industrial looking, but so so cool. I’m far more into air force history than naval but it’s still awesome when you see it in person
Is really a time capsule and a testament to the “they don’t make em like they used to” schtick. I hope our descendants are able to to enjoy the ships like we have.
I did several Unreps (underway replenishments) with her when she was stationed off the coast of Lebanon in the 80s. I also got to see her fire her guns at night, lighting up the area.
Going into dry dock to get a fresh coat of paint on the bottom and inspect all through hull openings. I believe they are also repacking the seals for the propeller shafts.
Maybe they thought they’d just park it by the bridge with nobody in it like the cops do. It’s pretty intimidating knowing that there are islands in the pacific that no longer exist above sea level because of her relentless shelling.
I've been aboard this fine lady on the walkthrough and I've been aboard the destroyer USS Cassin Young docked in Boston harbor. When sailor's coined the name tin can sailor they certainly meant it. The difference is crazy.
I wonder if the New Jersey will return under her own power.
The New Jersey would have to undergo about a year of work to be able to make her own steam. And, even if she could it would still need tugs to maneuver her through the port.
As an NJ native from the Camden County area, I love this ship. I've been to see it numerous times, including a private event where they fired a blank. Fantastic ship, incredible history; it's good it is getting the care it deserves.
Great shots!
I tried to get down to the park in Gloucester but I was hung up at work and didn't get there until she was well down river and everyone was leaving.
The USS Battleship New Jersey, The Most Decorated Battleship in the History of the Navy.
Served in the World War II, Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, helped with conflicts in the Middle East.
Thank you for your service Navy Marine. Now go get that maintenance and let’s get you out there. New Jersey Proud
We finally move to annex northern Delaware.
Let’s just annex the tax-free Cabela’s at the Christiana mall. Make it a DMZ.
Let's add that to the list. The glory of New Jersey demands more land.
If we seize Lewes we'll have control of the ~~Delaware~~ New Jersey Bay!
They can keep it. Except for that little lick of land at the bottom of NJ on our side of the river - that *should be ours!*
We should take that little bit of land, then whatever it takes ot annex Wilmington and Rehoboth to Ocean City. I know Wilmington isn't exactly the nicest of cities, but it could help defend against Pennsylvania.
Can we invade Lewes too? It’s such a cute little town ☺️

Then we can have a decisive battle to see who is the one true Ocean City.
About god damn time. Time to unleash all nine of Big J's 16 inch guns I say.
That's some serious fucking gabbagool
Fuck that with this much firepower we're taking Rockland County back.
I slept on that thing!!!! So much machinery and plumbing in there, and it’s alllll gray. The engineering is marvelous though.

How much you enjoyed the Jersey depends on which end of her guns you are on.
My uncle served on the USS Intrepid and was there when they retrieved the Gemini space capsule. I’ve always wanted to go see her in NYC.

Ive seen how many rounds some of the fast guns can shoot, ya dont fuck with those things. https://youtu.be/8JgUJ1JOOy4?si=6r1awxKAg-i7YRVC
I read "allll gay" and I was very confused
The navy is very, very gay so dyslexia has not wronged you lol
Going to the Navy Yard for repairs I assume?
Going into dry dock to get a fresh coat of paint on the bottom and inspect all through hull openings. I believe they are also repacking the seals for the propeller shafts.
First briefly to a facility in Paulsboro from some prep work, then yes. The very same drydock she was built in, in fact.
That's so cool
The ship's Youtube channel is pretty fascinating. (At least if you're a ship nerd.) https://www.youtube.com/@BattleshipNewJersey
So many answers to questions I didn't know enough to ask.
Why is not in NJ defending our coast?
It defends our coast from Pennsylvania. Much more important.
Needs to get better at keeping those PA drivers out of our state.

I sleep better knowing we can bombard Philly whenever we please.
With literally the best ship to ever do it.
The windmills won’t stand a chance
It’s time it gets some repair done after all the work it has done. After all it is the most decorated USS battleship of the nation
After 9/11 the 3 inch guns and AA guns were reactivated. The ships is on a weird position as a museum ship, and helps watch the skies... Just in case.
Beauty of a ship.
So nice that they named a whole ship after my favorite Azur Lane character
Ahh another fellow man of culture, did not expect this comment at all haha.
o7
It was a pretty cool ceremony, they had helicopters fly overhead and fired a signal gun a few times. The wind was not super enjoyable but not too bad
I was in the Navy in 1988 stationed in Long Beach California and we had both the battleship New Jersey and Missouri docked there at the same time.
So much wanted to be there but couldn’t get off work. Any word on when the return trip will be?
May 2024
Thanks
Can’t wait.

What time was this? I was at Fort Lee Historic Park looking at the river around 1-2pm and didn't see it.
Wrong river/state border my guy😅😅
Haha, I looked at the photos so quick that I thought that was the GWB. Mah bad.
One day, we will be able to fly it into space like Starblazers.
Go get 'em Derek Wildstar!
Great shots! I tried to get down to the park in Gloucester but I was hung up at work and didn't get there until she was well down river and everyone was leaving.
Great, NOW what will I do in Camden?!

Finally getting the respect it deserves.
Good god, she's gorgeous.
How long before Pennsylvania makes a sneak attack back across Delaware while our shores are unguarded?
To be refitted and out to use…. Watch. Ww3 on its way
Camden's lost 1/2 of it's safe tourist sites. Sad.
