Yes, there is military training at the base in Lakehurst today: https://www.jbmdl.jb.mil/Portals/47/images/Noise%20Calendar/March%20Noise%20Cal.png?ver=\_bLNvSaxztv6vAZLa5PbtA%3d%3d
Fair enough, I'm in northern Ocean County. The fine print says clouds can alter sounds and timing can change. Who knows with the weather that is supposed to come? I am no meteorologist nor expert in military training, just sharing the calendar!
Same vibe as when I was posting about the jet fly bys last month. Yes I've seen and heard the jets and artilllery before. It just seems they've increased intensity recently, I guess because of all the shit happening around the world atm.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Office sent this out at 3PM troday: OC Sheriff Urgent Alert: Joint Base MDL conducting military training [INSERT]. Those nearby, expect to hear and feel the ground shake at times today. .
We just heard it. It was more than a dozen *booms*. It was consistent, on a rhythm. 2 or so booms and then a very loud *BOOM!* Shook our house. Don't know what it was, but we're in central Jersey too.
Yeah this is crazy. Everything in the house was shaking from 11:00 - 11:30. I'm a vet and I understand the need to train at night, but past 11pm is just ridiculous!
i’m in old bridge and didn’t hear or feel anything but i think the base is doing some kind of testing. other people in my area though we were having a earthquake
I’m in Middletown. I thought I was going crazy. I live by Earle so I’m use to the booms but this seemed different. There was no boom but the house shook about 3-4 times in a 20 minute period.
Heavy ass artillery. Probably some new shells that pack an extra punch. That shit was insane and all of central jersey felt it and probably a good portion of south jersey.
It was McGuire. I was at my buddy’s house in wrightstown (~5 minutes from the base) and they were blasting them til I fell asleep around midnight. The whole house was shaking and the dogs and cats were going nuts. Personally I feel they shouldn’t have still been training then since they were doing it all day during the daytime and the noise ordinance around the neighborhood is 10pm.
I’m in Hamilton and at first thought it was my neighbor repeatedly shutting the door, but the foundation of my house, walls, and ceiling were all rattling. You could tell the boom was coming from the ground and SSE of us so makes sense it was the military base.
I thank whatever Gods that opened that Harbor Freight there because it's on my commute to work so I no longer have to go way out of my way to pick up a pack of zip ties on sale for $1.49
Not really Plainsboro. If you live in Dayton, it's pretty much a straight shot down the road and you have three major retailers right there in one place. 4 miles from the middle of Dayton.
There IS a shopping center in PLainsboro - the one with Romeos, Planet Fitness, etc. Plus the new one they built across the street with Five Guys and Panera - but the one I'm talking about is on the corner of Rt 1 and 522 in Monmouth Junction.
Yes, the one on Route 1 is what I'm talking about. It was the closest Shoprite to Plainsboro so, for some reason, I always assumed that was all the same town lol.
The Asian Food Market replaced what was probably the worst Supermarket - I think it was a SuperFresh? That was the definition of Jay Z's line "Grand opening / grand closing." Closed like in a year. From what I heard they had like week-old expired milk on the shelves there.
To be honest, with the ALDI and Shop-Rite there, you can do a majority of the shopping at ALDI and then just hit up the shop-rite for whatever is on big sale that week.
I wasn't even trolling, would have send the same about north or south jersey. NJ is almost 9,000 square miles.
"I heard a boom in an ill-defined region of several thousand square miles" is not very specific. At a minimum people should include their county for a post like this, if not their town.
While serving, I've felt the shockwave from himarc's near Camp Pendleton...these were big ass bombs, bigger than the ones at Camp Pendleton...and cannot pinpoint what they were. Felt like a small earthquake all the way in Lanoka Harbor...had to get the 92FS at the ready for safety measure as I was confused as all hell.
[There was seismic activity on the 15th](https://nj1015.com/earthquake-hunterdon-county-march-2024/). That plus the military training -- ugh who knows? I haven't had a decent night's sleep for a week from this stuff.
We get it all the time up here in Roxbury. Situated close to Picatinny arsenal you’d think there’s a war going on Monday-Friday. Every now and then, still catches me off guard and rocks me to the core. I’d imagine those living within closer proximity must have some stress fractures in their home’s foundation.
Just remember, they aint sleeping anytime soon either. And when they do it’ll probably be out in the cold. I’ll take the noise disturbance over what those beasts are dealing with 🤙🏼

Been around the booms my entire 35 years of living... Very rarely recall them ever doing it this late, though.
Fair enough, I'm in northern Ocean County. The fine print says clouds can alter sounds and timing can change. Who knows with the weather that is supposed to come? I am no meteorologist nor expert in military training, just sharing the calendar!
Former military, we had a saying goes “If it ain’t raining we ain’t training.” Expect the boom.
Same vibe as when I was posting about the jet fly bys last month. Yes I've seen and heard the jets and artilllery before. It just seems they've increased intensity recently, I guess because of all the shit happening around the world atm.
It also felt pretty different from what I've felt down near the bases before too.
Heavy cloud cover helps reverberate the sound back down and outwards.
Seems like they're using heavy ordinance.
I live in Lakehurst. Can confirm it’s just training. My house is rattling away. ;) it’s nothing compared to fort Campbell where we came from though.
Can confirm heard stories about fort Campbell b4 but it seems like training with thunder last night. Could be worse.
Probably testing nukes.. Lol
They've been doing night exercises since the base existed as a training ground.
Got an email from OC Sheriff about the noise, in addition to the calendar posting. Facebook groups going crazy OFC.
I used to live in Ocean County and it did feel like that .... I've just never heard Lakehurst training this far North before.
How far north?
Thank you! I thought I was imagining things.
Low clouds, big boom day on the base
They do these things at 8pm? I've never felt one so late and I've felt a ton of them in south jersey
Still going 9:35pm there were three consecutive booms, felt in 08501
Just started back up again at about 11:10 PM Friday. Been here 30 years, not sure I ever recall them going this late.
Gotta train for nighttime things, too
Lol. Right? This isn't a new thing
War isn’t a 9-5 kind of deal.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Office sent this out at 3PM troday: OC Sheriff Urgent Alert: Joint Base MDL conducting military training [INSERT]. Those nearby, expect to hear and feel the ground shake at times today. .
was just gonna say this, i live within 5 mins of the lakehurst gate and its LOUD
In Mercer county and felt it too almost sounded like as if Godzilla or a dinosaur was walking in the distance haha
Those damn graboids are back
We just heard it. It was more than a dozen *booms*. It was consistent, on a rhythm. 2 or so booms and then a very loud *BOOM!* Shook our house. Don't know what it was, but we're in central Jersey too.
That's exactly how I would describe it. Friends and family are also confirming they felt it.
Near jersey shore, also heard and felt it. shook the ground
That's insane, I'm near Trenton and I could feel it.
I am as well, it seems decently far off but still enough to shake my house.
these mfs still blasting at 11:30 pm
I know right God damn I gotta sleep
Yeah this is crazy. Everything in the house was shaking from 11:00 - 11:30. I'm a vet and I understand the need to train at night, but past 11pm is just ridiculous!
Felt it in princeton area too.
Yes, it feels like when I used to live by the military bases and they'd do artillery shooting... except right now I live no where near a base.
Artillery, mortar, and explosives training at JBMDL all weekend.
i’m in old bridge and didn’t hear or feel anything but i think the base is doing some kind of testing. other people in my area though we were having a earthquake
I’m in Middlesex. I thought it was thundering!
Heavy artillery & cratering munitions for training at JBMDL.
*it’s the elder brain, it’s breaking free*
training loudest its been in a while for sure (monmouth county)
Yes. In Millstone. The whole house is shaking
Yes, been feeling it since this afternoon. Must be something at the base.
Heard and felt it in Princeton.
Feeling it in Mercer County, NJ starting around 7:30pm ET and happening again around 10:55pm ET
Happening again right now 10:40am in Mercer County
I’m in Middletown. I thought I was going crazy. I live by Earle so I’m use to the booms but this seemed different. There was no boom but the house shook about 3-4 times in a 20 minute period.
Freehold from 9 PM to now (11:45 PM).its been pretty constant.
Training at the Joint Base https://www.shorenewsnetwork.com/2024/03/22/why-is-my-house-shaking-in-central-jersey-no-its-not-thunder-or-an-earthquake/
It's joint base dix-maguire. They have their activity schedule online. Today and tomorrow are going to be loud. Mortars, etc.
[удалено]
Seriously this is so annoying
Just imagine what it's like living in Ukraine or Gaza. We have it easy.
I wait for this comment every few months when the base is conducting drills… been hearing this for over 46 years
yes feels like a canon going off lmao
Heavy ass artillery. Probably some new shells that pack an extra punch. That shit was insane and all of central jersey felt it and probably a good portion of south jersey.
Thank you! Been feeling it in Lawrenceville, I thought I was going nuts!
I’m in Marlboro area and I heard nothing 💀 I need to be more attentive
It was McGuire. I was at my buddy’s house in wrightstown (~5 minutes from the base) and they were blasting them til I fell asleep around midnight. The whole house was shaking and the dogs and cats were going nuts. Personally I feel they shouldn’t have still been training then since they were doing it all day during the daytime and the noise ordinance around the neighborhood is 10pm.

Training at military bases. It went a lot later than it usually does.
Yep. I live near the base. My house is literally trembling from the bombings. They usually shoot guns and bomb, but it’s never this bad
Same here in Dayton - no shaking but distant booming sounding like thunder. Don’t think it’s military training at this hour…?
> Dayton Can I just tell you how freaking jealous I am that you have a shop-rite, a Target, and an ALDI in the same damn shopping center
And a Harbor Freight…..
I thank whatever Gods that opened that Harbor Freight there because it's on my commute to work so I no longer have to go way out of my way to pick up a pack of zip ties on sale for $1.49
I am doing a Van conversion soon and Harbor Freight is gonna be my go-to for a while.
(Brock Samson eyebrow twitch)
Remember when the Best Buy was there and ppl cut a hole in the roof n stole everything? Fkn wild
Isn't that shopping plaza more-so Monmouth Junction/Plainsboro?
Not really Plainsboro. If you live in Dayton, it's pretty much a straight shot down the road and you have three major retailers right there in one place. 4 miles from the middle of Dayton.
Huh, never thought about it. I used to live in Plainsboro and my mind automatically assumed that shopping center was a part of it.
There IS a shopping center in PLainsboro - the one with Romeos, Planet Fitness, etc. Plus the new one they built across the street with Five Guys and Panera - but the one I'm talking about is on the corner of Rt 1 and 522 in Monmouth Junction.

Asian food market ftw. They got some baddies there too lmao
The Asian Food Market replaced what was probably the worst Supermarket - I think it was a SuperFresh? That was the definition of Jay Z's line "Grand opening / grand closing." Closed like in a year. From what I heard they had like week-old expired milk on the shelves there.
Yeah something like that. But I’m glad the Asian food market moved there. The old place was getting gross 😂
It’s south Brunswick on rt 1 a few minutes away from plainsboro
Every ShopRite within a 10 mile radius is better IMO. The Target is great, though.
To be honest, with the ALDI and Shop-Rite there, you can do a majority of the shopping at ALDI and then just hit up the shop-rite for whatever is on big sale that week.
Hello Neighbor
At what hour? Guns don't shoot at night?
Central Jersey isn't a very specific location.
Half of us disagree on the borders. The other half claim Central NJ doesn't even exist.
Haha good troll
I wasn't even trolling, would have send the same about north or south jersey. NJ is almost 9,000 square miles. "I heard a boom in an ill-defined region of several thousand square miles" is not very specific. At a minimum people should include their county for a post like this, if not their town.
It's happening again. It's shaking the whole house. Just a big boom shaking the house and the ground. When is the artillery training gonna end?
I’m in millstone twp, pretty cool. Never heard it this aggressive before.
I'm right near the base and this is definitely the loudest it's been in a long time!
Can’t imagine how loud it was if ur close to the base.
![gif](giphy|Tm52cIxXXs5dm|downsized) MURICA!!
Wasnt a howitzer man
I feel like it was some new heavy ass artillery shells.
While serving, I've felt the shockwave from himarc's near Camp Pendleton...these were big ass bombs, bigger than the ones at Camp Pendleton...and cannot pinpoint what they were. Was like a depth charge or several going off
Massive amount of dead fish that’s for sure.
Manalapan. Hearing the booms slightly but mostly not feeling it. Doggo would be going nuts if we closer than 40 miles away from the training.
[There was seismic activity on the 15th](https://nj1015.com/earthquake-hunterdon-county-march-2024/). That plus the military training -- ugh who knows? I haven't had a decent night's sleep for a week from this stuff.
I thought I was losing my mind! Thank you for asking the same thing!!
Yea that shit is loud even over here in Lanoka Harbor
I'm just south of Lakehurst. It's literally been rattling my windows all day.
Lakehurst.. out side planet fitness sounded like bombs being dropped
Im not far from Newark airport in Clifton, but I heard rumbling and booms last night multiple times, more often than normal.
Well when Ginny Sack hauls ass she needs to make two trips…
yes my house was also shaking at around 10:25AM EST
Parsippany houses just shook for about 10 seconds. Earthquake?
Anyone feel a tremor today? In west Belmar
I'm in Pompton Plains NJ. Sitting on my bed the house shook for about 15 seconds. Scared the hell out of my cat
YES
Just now in belmar! Bed was vibrating!
Just remember, they aint sleeping anytime soon either. And when they do it’ll probably be out in the cold. I’ll take the noise disturbance over what those beasts are dealing with 🤙🏼
All the time, it’s the fracking over in pa
Ever since that quake in 2010? Was it? People freak the eff out over every little rumble
Not y'all but South Jersey next door app acts like the sky is falling.
It's all the fat women running so their hair stays dry
That's the feeling of freedom
It’s called lightning? Lol storms
