DOT drug screen is regulated at the federal level, so state legality doesn't matter. CDL allows for interstate commerce so it falls under the federal gov.

I would also suggest not having any felony convictions either. There are places that will take you with a felony but they will abuse you and pay you shit because they know you're gonna have a hard time finding another driving job.
