I like the hi ho stay home if you're sick ads. They perfectly capture the spacy boringness of staying home and feeling yuck, with bonus Death of Marat art references.
It was Goldstein haha, but a banking ad with Goldberg would be great.
Also it was brought to my attention that the value left on the mortgage on the "It's almost out the door" went up $100k at some point fairly recently, so we're normalizing being more in debt. It's also sad that $100k+ is 'almost out the door' nowadays.
I dislike the message of that one, which seems to be hitching two middle-aged fantasies together... One, that you'd become the sort of person who has the time and energy to go on weekend camping trips in the wilderness if only you had the right car, and two, your teen will get their head out of their phone and magically start talking to you if you buy the right car.
Yup. Seems more likely that the teen would get the message that what you're supposed to do when you're sad is buy yourself shiny new tech, and then spend longer at work so you can pay for it, and then definitely not ever have to waste time trying to *talk* to your family, ugh...
I think it's a developmental phase we all go through, though, being self-absorbed while working out who the hell *we* even are, and then it's great to come back to rebuild the relationships afterwards. There are teens / young adults in my life going through this right now, and I can see the pain it causes their parents, but also the parents get it and are in a kind of suspense, waiting to meet the emerging adult :D
It's all part of life - I just wish advertisers weren't trying to pretend that buying a particular sort of metal box is some sort of solution to it...
ACC ad where he spins the kid in to the book case. Or the ACC ad where she falls in to the glass coffee table. Incredible. Possibly some of the funniest ads of all time
The spinning into the bookcase one, that was a "it's not the drinking, it's HOW we're drinking' wasn't it?
I remember being in hysterics! " Dad, Dad, do the aeroplane!"
*SMACK!*
Good times
Well, given it seems to have triggered some drink drivers in this sub to strongly object to it, I'd vote for the one with the lady bitching about her inconsiderate drink driving partner to be my new favourite.
Those who are griping about the ad really need to take a serious look at their own selfish and iresponsible behaviour. Behaviour which can impact their relationship, their health, other road users and their employment.
Stop drink driving you inconsiderate f##kers!
It was a couple of years back but it was a qantas one "I've been everywhere." There were a few versions, I can't find my favourite but this is an example. https://youtu.be/YFhxo7WD90I?si=Zxl_94VjM8EFkcMZ
I kinda miss seeing ads. But, it's just so easy to get a little computer, use your TV as the monitor, and install ad blockers. The odd time we watch normal TV it's like treat... That yogurt add is an odd one.

I can't stand the ANZ ads, but I like the ASB ads.
Dreadful ad campaign with the "relatable" oaf and know it all wife stereotype. Just bring back Goldberg.

The chick is pretty
Goldstein The Jewish guy stereotyped to money. Would never fly in 2024
Ira Goldstein, whatever do you mean? /s
The Turners ad where the guy lets people drive away with his car like an idiot is pretty good
You’re not the fruit of our loins “ i know “
Mitre 10, where they've finished little guy's diy and they hug
May be controversial but Tina from Turner..i just love her Don't care much for ANZ but I love that indian family esp the dad...
Tina from Turners is a delight!
Recently is the Kalo yoghurt ad him feeding the self checkout. 🤣
I just want to be...real....real...
I don't mind the one where the father and daughter drive away from the city and go camping.
that ad got a complaint on it to the ASA haha someone thought he was kidnapping the girl against her will

If the teen is into cars maybe, but teens don’t dream about CUV’s, especially Kias

I hate that to a certain extent that was me when I was a moody teenager. Made up for lost time in my mid 20s actually getting to know my parents.

The spray and walk away asian guy
Not recent. Skinnys pixel face ad "stole me from the park" has me in hysterical laughter.
The check how safe your car is / cardboard car ad hits nicely.
Nova ads - the play on words is great and so silly/lighthearted
I know a guy who works in the Nova marketing team, apparently Greg comes to their Christmas parties and everyone loves him.
The 'It's not gay unless it's gay' ad. Loved it!
You wouldn’t download an ad.
I'll never forget that pounding song too
The damp rid advert cause my wife absolutely detests it and now it makes me smile and sing it full volume.l so she knows it's on.
Easy there, Satan
EVERYBODY DAMP RID
I love The Warehouse one with the little girl who cuts her hair to match her mums - too cute 😂
The Clearscore ad with the adorable Boxer dog, Moose. Too cute. Love the Genesis Energy ones too.
"OK. Love you." "Love you too Gus."

Youre right it was that. Shit was slapstick.
Recently started liking One NZ.
Potentially
To be continued...
uBlock origin. Best ad ever.
Burger King guy he’s fun and Tina from turners
I like the New World one where the boyfriend makes dinner for his girlfriend and they're both pretending it's not too spicy.
Is that what's happening in that ad? I never got it, I just thought they were both a bit awkward.
Ha yea I'm pretty sure that is what's going on. It's very cute.
"Mrs. Lady!" from the Vogel's ad has passed into household usage.

The old lift plus ads were peek kiwi tv
Fruity Bars
People still watch TV?
The Tegel chicken ad. Love the music and people pecking their heads forward. It makes me happy.
I liked the Trustpower ad from a few years ago with the 3-legged dog.
I mentioned on one of the posts about the hated anti-drink driving ad, that I really like the 'Big Rod' and 'Grubby Aaron' ad.
Waka Kotahi ad with the new employee getting a ride to site with Big Rod. The guy who is always gunning it. Oh he's got a V8 too
The old electric kiwi ad with the song was the best. Why did they replace it!
People still watch tv?
Yeah dumb asses
X gon' give it to ya.. whaaat?! 😎 Downvotes expected.
None of them, adverts are pure cancer.
Your life must be so miserable. [Sorry](https://youtu.be/7eDb28p5_4A?si=vibUhNcV1UAllsde)
Actually defends advertising lmao. The absolute state of it.
Sometimes it’s okay to smile at things
I’m in absolute shock… downvoted negatively in favour of adverts, what the actual fuck.
You must be (regretfully) in marketing
People like adverts?!
It's 30 years recent, but still great! https://youtu.be/ckije5KJ788?feature=shared

I havent used the TV in so long that I am considering selling it
Wtf is nztv?
