Watching this video and not being a painter, I had just come to a much less eloquent epiphany of this. Then I scrolled down and saw this and thought and it literally took the words out of my mouth. Thank you for this.
Whatever you do don't use turpentine. That's what killed Bob Ross. Beating the brush made the chemicals more airborne and he did it in a closed space so he inhaled a shit ton of the stuff. He sure did love beatin' the devil out them!
I had a mdma problem and did 6 days once. I was going to work the whole time. On day 6, I'd be walking through the factory and while walking, would literally fall asleep for a split second and quick snap awake..... while walking. Then there's the whole shadow people thing.... You FOR SURE hallucinate. You are constantly seeing "beings" just out of your main field of vision. It seems like there are entities running around in your peripheral vision.
I'll never go sleepless again.
I had a junkie friend (RIP my guy) that once did essentially the whole month of February. He was strung out, injecting meth and stayed up for 28 days. At that point he was literally friends with the shadow people.
I downvoted for both reasons. That stupid reveal just makes me feel impatient when I see it now. Like, yeah yeah yeah we know just show the thing already. It's not neat after 15th dude does it. Still, incredible painting.
That's the beauty of painting: every next brush wipe of color makes no sense. However thousands and millions of these wipes are what the painting is made of!
Kind of an insensitive comment, dont you think? Sure, one brush stroke alone might not do much, but the collective of all the small brush strokes makes the finished result, which is amazing!
I am always a bit suspicious unless i see the artist actually doing some of the painting….would prefer to see a bit more so i know you are actually painting it.
u/actual-anywhere-8829 I'd be more careful with links you share like that - anyone can see your device and carrier and people have doxxed or stolen identities with far less to go on.
Get ready because Instagram, the place artists used to be able to upload images of their work, is now trying to force everyone to use it like tick tock where they only show it to your followers if it’s a video yaaay
thats what i've been scratching my head. It is good, but 5 months of slepless nights??? Jeez, it is just a stereotypical nature painting that won't ever go for more than 50 bucks.
5 months of sleepless night sounds horrible for taking care of a child. “But taking care of a child is hard, that’s probably what’s keeping him up!” No.. I have a 3 year old and I can say taking care of a child is no where near as hard as our parents made it out to be. You need to get more sleeps and be more I involved with your child.
It's like me spending days picking a kick ass location for my drone video, spending hours getting the right angle flyover shots, spending days editing and color grading, ending up with perfection and then nobody's watches it except me 😂
Bro.. that’s the best part. You don’t have to please anyone, self satisfaction is a pathway to a great mental health. Kudos to you and wouldn’t mind seeing a few of those videos. I draw my inspiration from everywhere.
Im astounded at how great this is... very well done! Wish i could have that skill but my hands shake like a fricking washing machine with a brick in it lol
Probably not much considering it's just a completely normal landscape painting. Nothing really special about it and there's tons of these types of paintings out there.
Haha.. fair enough. Between work family and 3 kids, I spared what time had after they went to sleep to complete this over 5 months. It was mostly the details that took me a while. Those grassy details caused me to go to an eye doctor and get prescribed for reading glasses. Lol
kinda looks like that one A. Hitler [Painting](https://img.i-scmp.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=contain,width=1098,format=auto/sites/default/files/styles/1200x800/public/images/methode/2019/02/10/adaf902c-2ce7-11e9-8864-9e8ab15a22ca_image_hires_122326.jpg?itok=yZBJo5uj&v=1549772608)

Watching this video and not being a painter, I had just come to a much less eloquent epiphany of this. Then I scrolled down and saw this and thought and it literally took the words out of my mouth. Thank you for this.
Wow, this is actually quite profound.
And quite often quoted
I had not seen or hear that quote before now. I like it
Bob Ross woulda done it in 23 minutes.
Tbh, I thought the same
Obviously it’s much more detailed, and dare I say, sophisticated. Really awesome, artist person!
Definitely. I think Bob even admitted a few times that there are some concessions taken when he has to fit a whole painting into a half-hour.
I will forever clean my brushes, by quickly slapping them back and forth on a table leg, or the edge of the counter.
Do you laugh and say "beat the devil out of it" every time?
Yes, with a little giggle and a smile.
Whatever you do don't use turpentine. That's what killed Bob Ross. Beating the brush made the chemicals more airborne and he did it in a closed space so he inhaled a shit ton of the stuff. He sure did love beatin' the devil out them!
I'm sure smoking for most of his adult life had nothing to do with his lymphoma.
too long, it would be 12 minutes and 41 seconds
And if you tell anyone, I will come to your house and I will cut you
why didn't you just... sleep?
I’d say it’s more due to the newborn in the background than the actual painting
Haha .. that and 2 others who take up all my time.
![gif](giphy|X0jGJXXPW0tljVpdgs)
is this about the time of day, or murdering your family?
Yes
I was waiting to see an astronaut cat in the reveal, but I guess that’s another artist.
[удалено]
On the money !

The kid is saying "daddy" , they're not a newborn 😂
The kid. I'm just guessing.
He is spreading misinformation online guys, the world record for not sleeping is 17 days, we've got a liar on our hands fellaz
Longest officially recorded. Some people break that buy get no official credit because it was never recorded.
Too busy battling shadow people to contact the record keepers.
I went three days without sleep once. I was seeing freaking shadow spiders in the dark whole trying to lay in bed and sleep. Do NOT recommend.
I did 3 days my first deployment fixing our busted radar. I never hallucinated but i did fall asleep tightening a bolt and got yelled at to go sleep.
I had a mdma problem and did 6 days once. I was going to work the whole time. On day 6, I'd be walking through the factory and while walking, would literally fall asleep for a split second and quick snap awake..... while walking. Then there's the whole shadow people thing.... Oh i dont doubt people hallucinate, i was just saying i personally didn't on my 3 day run.
Oh sorry if I worded that like I was arguing your point. I didn't see anything after 3 days either. It was day 5 and 6 that got really weird for me.
They deliberately don't record stuff like this in Guinness etc because of the danger (I.e. youngest pilot)
Oh, a woise guy, eh?
[удалено]
True
This guy's a phony! A big, fat, phony!
Holy shit I hit 6 days and I was mad hallucinating, 17 days I can't fathom. That's some level of hell.
I start seeing spiders jumping after 2 days
I had a junkie friend (RIP my guy) that once did essentially the whole month of February. He was strung out, injecting meth and stayed up for 28 days. At that point he was literally friends with the shadow people.
Haha I thought the same thing. 5 months of sleepless nights just sounds so unnecessary to add since it’s obviously hyperbole
Right? You can’t accomplish multiple hundreds of hours of work in 5 days. The most you can get is 120 hours
1.2 hundreds of hours of work
Great painting downvoted for the cheesy "see I'm still painting it" trope by recording a random last paint stroke/application
The close up makes the the rest of the painting look dried. I say we grab pitchforks until OP can prove he painted the whole thing.
And look how shaky is their hand. I expect a skilled painter have it much steadier
From other comments, he may have been up for many hours and fatigued. Or it could be the reason it took so long to paint.
Hard to record and paint steadily
I downvoted because OP posted himself in nextfuckinglevel.
I downvoted for both reasons. That stupid reveal just makes me feel impatient when I see it now. Like, yeah yeah yeah we know just show the thing already. It's not neat after 15th dude does it. Still, incredible painting.
You guys are petty bitches
I always do that. Its tradition!
Sameee I hate that shit
I immediately assumed this wall-hanged (!) painting got a random, very shaky dot of white just for internet pointz.
His last rock did literally nothing for the painting
That's the beauty of painting: every next brush wipe of color makes no sense. However thousands and millions of these wipes are what the painting is made of!
Brush **stroke**
Kind of an insensitive comment, dont you think? Sure, one brush stroke alone might not do much, but the collective of all the small brush strokes makes the finished result, which is amazing!
What the hell else were they supposed to do for the video. Paint the whole damn thing!!
Some progressive pictures would have been nice
I am always a bit suspicious unless i see the artist actually doing some of the painting….would prefer to see a bit more so i know you are actually painting it.
Very suspicious if the painting is already mounted on the wall
I mean you literally just saw him paint it. /s

Thank you for the heads up
"Tiny final stroke on a big painting" is one of the most annoying conceits in art videos. You look ridiculous.
It’s dope but not really next fucking level.
give me one good reason why it’s already mounted to the wall while you’re “still painting” it
Congrats my dude or lady dude. Awesome job
Very nice. Wish this presentation style would die though. I'd love to see a nice high quality pic of it

Only takes bob Ross 25 minutes 😋
i call bullshit. why is it allready hung up on the wall and not the easel?
Bob Ross would be proud!
And would have been done in 22min
Ha ha, that's exactly what I thought when I saw this.
It's pretty run of the mill
thats what i've been scratching my head. It is good, but 5 months of slepless nights??? Jeez, it is just a stereotypical nature painting that won't ever go for more than 50 bucks.
Dude posted his own work in a sub called nextfuckinglevel
I love the art, but did you need to suffer so much?
i cant believe that little kid painted this.
I like the level of dramatic tension added by the sound of a child, and the internet teaching me something horrible is about to happen.
your 5 months of sleepless nights weren't from the painting ..
God I hate the stupid trope of adding one final brush stroke.
It's always weird and pretentious when someone labels their own stuff "next level" or "damn interesting".
Are there any tutorials for stuff like that? would be a dream to do a painting like that as well
Bro imagine not sleeping for 5 months 💀
That baby sound made me think that something was gonna happen to this masterpiece at the end...

And you're a baby? Incredible! So cute to hear you celebrating your success.
Reminds me of Skyrim
What is it?
Horse
are you blind?
That's amazing! Congratulations!!
Bob Ross seal of approval
I hope you got good money for that painting.
That’s really beautiful.
Super...
I wish I knew how to paint like this!
It wouldn’t have been complete if it wasn’t for that last brush of paint.
Beautiful
What place inspired this? Id like to visit
Beautiful!
Gorgeous
Your painting is absolutely beautiful!
Wow
That will look cool in a hotel.
I never finish my artwork because I never decide it’s done lol
It's beautiful. Congratulations 🎊
Beautiful
Beuh “daddy daddy daddy”
That's pretty dope I haven't done a landscape too scared to try.
Nice!
It looks beautiful!
I have never gone a sleepless night working on art… Maybe I should try that 🤷🏼♂️
That’s incredible I wish I could paint I can’t even draw a good stick figure without it going bad
I would believe you if you said 5 years. There is no way anyone can finish any hobby project in 5 months with a toddler in the house.
When do you decide when you are done
Usually before you mount it on a wall. This guys is different though
Oh my goodness that’s gorgeous
Decent but 5 months???
That last splotch really brought the whole thing together.
That looks like a dinosaur in the background at the start!
I'm not sure how so many people are so great at art, I personally suck at it, great job!
Not impressive, I can capture the same image taking a photo 🙄
Oh man, you ruined it with that last stroke.
How much?
Holy smokes, friend! That’s incredible. You’re beyond talented
I hate the zoom out painting trope. Cheesy shit
That final touch. *Now*. Perfect.
Mmm I need that in my office!
Im astounded at how great this is... very well done! Wish i could have that skill but my hands shake like a fricking washing machine with a brick in it lol
May you never sleep again! Seriously though, you are talented. I’d move there and live.
It wasn’t worth it
I think your child is impressed.. as with us all.
Awesome!
Yo, that’s some landscape
You deserve fame
Beautiful. But at the cost of 100s of hours, do you just sacrifice everything else you might have done in that spare time?
The level of detail is awesome. What does an art piece like this usually sell for?
Not enough to cover the labor and supplies.
Probably not much considering it's just a completely normal landscape painting. Nothing really special about it and there's tons of these types of paintings out there.
That's what confuses me the most about this picture. Goodwill has something like this for $50
Yeah. A high priced landscape painting would have to be absolutely incredible. They look nice but they're very common and not hard to find.
well usually for the amount of taxes a billionare has to pay

What a great way to relax your mind though, lose yourself in the art but still be able to reconnect to the world at the drop of a brush.
I’ll start the bidding at £3.50, do we have £3.50?
Happy little trees everywhere!!
"Honey for the last time I'm not going to bed, I have to finish this painting first"
Bro
Bob ross... Okay thats all we can do in 20 minutes
kinda looks like that one A. Hitler [Painting](https://img.i-scmp.com/cdn-cgi/image/fit=contain,width=1098,format=auto/sites/default/files/styles/1200x800/public/images/methode/2019/02/10/adaf902c-2ce7-11e9-8864-9e8ab15a22ca_image_hires_122326.jpg?itok=yZBJo5uj&v=1549772608)
100s* No apostrophe. It's not a possessive noun or a contraction.
Judging by the babbling I’d say you’re little more than a year or so old which makes this even more impressive!
Very impressive, especially as from the sound of it, you're a inarticulate toddler.
Bob Ross does it in 25 minutes.
"one hundreds of hours"
Haha yeah right
Ok Bob Ross go off
That’s how long it took painters back in the day for portraits? Imagine. Sitting still for five months
Beautiful! Bob Ross would be proud!
Bob Ross?
You mean to tell this baby made this amazing piece of art?
I'll give you $25 for it
Looks like the path from Roanoke into Grizzlies East.
Felt cute, might throw out later.
That road dodged a few rocks and then somehow straightened right out.
You just kept zooming out!
