morning

endol

What a pointless game, lol. Besides Georgia fans IDK who sat through all of that.

CarlCaliente

I bet the atmosphere and traditions were lit though

denvertebows15

10-7 was as close as it got and then Georgia scored 55 straight.

denvertebows15

I just finished reading Daniel James Brown's book about the Donner Party and I gotta say I hate James Reed. That cocky motherfucker makes them take the cutoff even though his good friend told him it was a load of shit and to stick to the known route. Then has the gall to say "If they didn't banish me for killing a dude I totally woulda got them over that mountain before the snow". My guy ***you*** are the reason they were in that predicament in the first place.

theresabeeonyourhat

God damnit, I've had so many projects today, and several of them I didn't get to finish. Plus, I had planned today to get a bunch of Elden Ring time in, but if I started playing it around 8-9 pm, I'll be up all night. I also haven't started my Phil Hartman biography, and I need to read more in general, because outside of Lovecraft, I haven't read anything in a long time

raginsaint93

Could Georgia beat the Jeff Saturday Colts?

CarlCaliente

no

PrelectingPizza

No

itsmybirthday___

I’m prob making myself sick drinking my snoop dogg wine and smoking black and milds on outside on my patio during a big storm rn…..but watching the gray clouds move quickly against the black sky is cool as shit

Andrewski18

Can they just show the AntMan trailer so I can turn this shit off

BigSportsNerd

Just saw someone complain about the cgi fest in that trailer. Who cares. It's stunning

Lins105

Mixing Sriracha and Ranch will forever be an all time condiment for me.

unloader86

Pretty much any hot sauce + ranch is a go to combo.

Lins105

I feel you on that. Been making my own hot sauces for about a year but I’ve yet to mix one with Ranch…. Why have I waited this long.

[deleted]

Is Victoria 2 any good? I’ve heard good things about it, and want to play another Paradox game aside from CK.

itsforwork12

RIP TCU

BigSportsNerd

Dud national championship. Congrats gawja. Heading to bed once I get home

itsmybirthday___

“Let’s have two west coast teams play Saturday afternoon and two eastern time zone teams play Sunday night” - the absolute fucking genius nfl schedule makers

Guiltyjerk

Looks to me like shitty games are on early and cool games are on late

itsmybirthday___

Oh no you didn’t Lol you got me But seriously do you consider Lamar-less ravens capable of good tv Cause they’re the Sunday night game

Guiltyjerk

What are the odds he's out? If he's in that's pretty easily the best game of the weekend. Probably worth the gamble. I also have no idea how they dole out games/who chooses which games go where

itsmybirthday___

I’m salty as fuck cause my daughter has a swim meet on Saturday. But I can’t be the only one on the west coast who made plans for Saturday morning that bleeds into the afternoon! Just a giant middle finger to local fans.

PrelectingPizza

Your kid is going to have another swim meet, but will there be another 49ers Wild Card game in 2023?

[deleted]

Stetson Bennett is a man among boys literally.

Tho76

Jesus ESPN, don't say the game starts at 730 then be singing America the Beautiful at 730 If the game starts at 730, the game should start at 730! One thing I appreciate about the NFL games are punctual. The NBA is annoying about it too

Guiltyjerk

I think it's mostly NBA on ESPN. My recollection is that NBA on TNT is better. The ESPN NBA bubble games were especially bad. Assholes knew they had *zero* other programming so they stretched the absolute fuck out of the intro. One game started 35 minutes after the advertised start time I vividly remember.

m0ondogy

The hair style of guys these days is much nicer on the eyes than when I was growing up. That semi fade people are doing. However, I want the shaggy bed head look to come back. That way I don't have to cut my hair as often. I'm spending way to much on something I'm loosing by the pound.

StChas77

Maya Sweedler, Fivethirtyeight.com editor and primary contributor to the NFL on the site just predicted that the Vikings and 49ers would meet in the NFC Championship, a mathematical impossibility. I have nowhere else to say that, so I'm doing so here.

DickNDiaz

Didn't they predict the Celtics would win the NBA Championship last season?

notouchmypeterson

Arizona professional teams are 0-10 in 2023 and collectively are on a 12* game losing streak Arizona sports hell lmao

eggery

Is your username for Patrick Peterson?

notouchmypeterson

Yes lol

eggery

Neat

Resident_Maybe0

I'm really expected to work 5 days this week? At least got a 3 day weekend coming.

PrelectingPizza

What are some of your infinitely rewatchable movies? * Star Wars (OT) * 21 Jump Street & 22 Jump Street * The 2 new Jumanji movies * Princess Bride * Supertroopers * Tropic Thunder * Goonies * Ghostbusters

BruceChameleon

- Clue - Coming to America - True Lies

Guiltyjerk

Terminator 2 Harry Potter Lego Movie and Lego Batman Movie

Tho76

Airplane! Edge of Tomorrow Monty Python and the Holy Grail Honestly, maybe Bullet Train

PrelectingPizza

I need to rewatch EoT. I was surprised at how good it was. I also need to watch Bullet Train for the 1st time. Maybe tonight.

Tho76

Bullet Train was made by the guy who made Deadpool 2, if you liked that it's a similar vibe It's an easy, fun watch, definitely recommend

[deleted]

1. The Right Stuff 2. HP Goblet of Fire 3. Beerfest

theresabeeonyourhat

When I was younger, I had more movies, but now it's mainly tv shows & radio: Newsradio Terminator 1 Who Goes There? (The Thing) Cabin in the Woods War of the Worlds (1939 & 1972) Peoria Plague Pontypool (both movie & radio)

CarlCaliente

Lord of the Rings Sandler/Ferrell/Broken Lizard comedies

DetroitLionsSBChamps

Definitely Star Wars OT. I used to put them on an endless loop when I was working from home years ago. Jaws Armageddon (as a stupid cheese-fest) Tommy Boy Strange Brew I've probably seen Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas 100 times

The_Amish_FBI

Lord of the Rings Kingdom of Heaven Airplane! Naked Gun Spaceballs

denvertebows15

Kingdom Of Heaven is such a good movie.

PrelectingPizza

Airplane! and Spaceballs should have been included on my list.

CarlCaliente

did everyones middle school student council campaigns revolve around vending machines or just mine

LetsConsultTheMap

Yes. And no we did not get sodas in the vending machine. Phil was a phony candidate that lied.

LetsConsultTheMap

Day 1 of semester 2 of grad school. Is it May yet?

unoscope

Grad school is rough but for me it’s more so the people you have to interact with rather than the work

LetsConsultTheMap

Looking at the syllabus today and there's a lot of group projects. That's the main issue

unoscope

In all my years, I’ve never had a group project where the work was shared equally or even close to equally. It’s always a shit show.

PrelectingPizza

It is great when you say something like "I should do A except in situations X, Y, and Z" and then someone says "A won't work because of X". No shit! I thought about that and said that caveat.

DetroitLionsSBChamps

the moment of "do I say 'yeah I just said that' and look petty, or just be cool and let it go."

Illbeanicefella

I totally forgot CEH was still on the Chiefs until I heard someone mention him today

BruceChameleon

It's been a minute since you were one of the dominant rushing squads.

Jashuggah

[Follow up](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/107ggy3/weekend_wrapup/j3m8igm/) I blew a cylinder. Since they're going to take it all apart, told them to just change the spark plugs while they're at it. They need to be replaced in like 1,500 miles anyway. Total cost is just shy of 1,000$. Could've been much worse.

Illbeanicefella

That seems very reasonable for the amount of work it needs

Jashuggah

Yep. I was expecting much worse.

theresabeeonyourhat

My short analysis on the Bears & Jets, would love to hear your opinions: 1) Bears Fields is a franchise QB with flaws that defenses will better be able to attack next year, so, as bad as our defense is, offense has to be top priority. We need to get a 3 tech, edge rushers, linebackers & maybe another cornerback, but since offense is top priority, getting a quality 3 Tech is the only must, while the rest can be filled in in FA. Mooney/Kmet/Claypool definitely have it in them to keep improving, but none of them are gonna be top tier dudes, so we need to invest in getting 2 more pass catchers early in the draft. 2) Jets We have a few offensive linemen who need re-signed & who knows if Mekhi Becton will ever be healthy. We desperately need linebackers & we should try to find another quality edge rusher. The big issue is at QB. We're hanging onto Wilson, but it's obvious he's gone if a team is dumb enough to trade some decent assets. I cannot imagine he's being held onto to seriously compete for the starting job at this point. I'm wanting Derek Carr, but if the Ravens only slap Lamar with a 2 1sts tag, I'm making that deal if I'm Joe Douglas. Given Lamar's play style & where this team is at in its rebuild, signing him to a mega deal could give us 1-3 years of an opening, with the roster we have

Zac-Hobson

I only know the Bears, so I'll only chat about that. Fields has given fans reasons for optimism, and the games have been exciting. He's electric running the football, but he is nowhere near where we'd hoped he'd be as a passer after two seasons. Having said that, no QB would look good throwing the football with our offensive line and skill position players. Mooney is a solid deep threat, and I really like him, but he's pretty far from being a true #1 WR. The jury's out on Claypool, since he joined mid-season and didn't really do anything of note this year. And Kmet is okay, but would probably only be a high-functioning TE2 on a decent offensive team. I think realistic targets for next season would be keeping Fields healthy, improving the lines on both sides of the ball significantly, trying to replace Roquan at ILB, and adding offensive weapons at WR. If we could approach being a .500 team and do something smart with our great draft capital, it's progress.

WabbitCZEN

If you ever have or take part in a debate about "Who's the GOAT of GOATs" and the top answer isn't Wayne Gretzky, the entire debate is invalid.

Jashuggah

Ali is a reasonable argument for GOAT of GOATs, but numbers-wise Gretzky is number one.

WabbitCZEN

I know it's a bit out there, but the fact that fantasy leagues had to divide Gretzky into two players just to make things fair is a point I keep coming back to for his sheer dominance.

Jashuggah

Same argument I always make. Ali was iconic for the sport as well as society. That's why I put him in the conversation

CarlCaliente

Don Bradman

[deleted]

Is it fair to move to a state w/o income tax for the sole purpose of "I don't wanna have to pay income tax"? I start a remote job next week, I can go anywhere... I'm currently at home in NY but between income tax/rent in NY, it probably makes fiscal sense to move to a cheaper state/city.

rob_var

I’d check with a tax consultant because I’m pretty sure you have to pay taxes in the state your work is in.

PrelectingPizza

If the physical work office is in a state, you pay taxes in that state. However, if you WFH 100% of the time, then your work location is the state that you live in. Some companies kind of restrict where you live because it is a PITA to set up tax stuff for payroll in a new state. I personally think that's dumb. I have seen some job postings that indicate this by saying "Employee can work remotely as it is in this list of states: ...".

Kohakuho

That's the point of having states. The idea is they try different things, and the population would decide who did things right with their feet. Absolutely do it!

Free_Reserve9336

No, income tax is BS. Not your fault that the government is choosing to maintain poor tax policies.

Illbeanicefella

Rich people don’t pay taxes why should you

Kohakuho

They do. They just don't pay income tax because their income is from capital gains.

jfgiv

certainly it's fair to do whatever you want i would make sure you're not making up for it elsewhere, though--property tax, insurance rates, etc.

[deleted]

Yeah you have a point, Texas (no state income tax) is apparently pretty rough for property taxes. Doesn't apply to me yet (rent), but... always good to think long-term. Here's hoping there's a good place that balances everything

itsforwork12

Rent is nuts in Texas, don't let that fool you

eggery

Current QB's that are referenced by their first name more than their last name: - Lamar - Geno - Dak - Tua - Baker

[deleted]

\*idiocy redacted\* I like your point. Mahomes, Herbert, Goff... too bland and common for their first names.

eggery

What if I told you that Geno was already on the list

[deleted]

Oh Lord. I'm a dummy.

StChas77

Brock and, to a lesser extent, Mac.

eggery

I would put Mac Jones in the "usually referenced by their full name" category along with Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan.

Kohakuho

My girlfriend is Serbian Orthodox, and this week we're going to her church for her patron saint's slava. If how she described slavas is even close to true, I'm about to have some epic food. I think she wants me to convert from Catholicism. The biggest issue would be celebrating every holiday two weeks late.

BruceChameleon

Orthodox churches (at least Eastern/Greek) have better art and architecture than modern Catholic churches. You could do worse.

Kohakuho

The modern catholic church is like that meme of the cowering doge. Also Serbian Orthodox churches give out hard liquor.

unoscope

Lol the guys in my fantasy league want to add Diggs’ average fantasy points from the Bengals-Bills to the guy that had Diggs’ score. The NFL cancelled the game you can’t just make up rules as you go.

BruceChameleon

If he took a 0 for the week, that seems mostly reasonable to me.

unoscope

He took a 0 because the game was cancelled. To add his average would be creating hypotheticals that didn’t happen

BruceChameleon

I get that. In my league we added week 18 scores by hand, which worked pretty well. Yours isn’t a great solution but it's not nonsense. There’s a logic to the 0 too, since we don’t give the same grace to injuries. But it doesn't feel great.

unoscope

I mean the circumstances were wild but it wouldn’t be fair to add anything except what he actually scored. Even if we add the 4.6 which Diggs scored, that member still is stuck at 2nd place. That game should just be treated the same way injured players affect the game imo.

Prophet92

My created player on Madden 22 is coming up on the end of his first contract and I’m trying to decide what to do with him right now. 1 time MVP, 1 Super Bowl appearance, currently playing for the Colts. Basically trying to decide whether to play it safe and re-sign or let him go into free agency. He’s based off a Chiefs fan I know in real life, so I feel like he would want to get the hell out of Indy as soon as possible, but Madden can be wonky and just make it so you never get offers, so… For anyone wondering why he’s based on someone else and not me, I did make myself as part of a custom draft class and just went ahead and drafted myself on my Packers coach franchise.

Illbeanicefella

Rodgers just cementing his legacy as one of the finest late season chokers of all time. We should be calling him Regular Season Rodgers

theresabeeonyourhat

And unlike the Marinos of the world, he's playing in a QB friendly league, so there's a valid argument he's the worst ever. Also, it was cool enough we got the #1 pick, the Lions knocking them out of the playoffs makes it feel like *we* made it

TheGarreth

The Rodgers Rate and Discount Doublecheck do not apply in playoff games.

BelichickSpy

i played a rated chess match against a strong opponent yesterday, unfortunately I lost both my games. i still stay above 1900 though. the first game I definitely had drawing chances after he slipped up and the second game didn’t really go well. i have a long way to go to get to that guy’s level

The_Amish_FBI

Just the fact that this team made it back to the playoffs with no noticeable Super Bowl hangover is fucking awesome to me.

Deadchimp234

I mean, CIN did stumble out of the gate a little bit, so there was a bit of a hangover there. Kudos to them for snapping out of it and finishing the season with an excellent 12-4-? record, though.

[deleted]

Burrow is a winner. There's something about that dude as a leader where he just raises expectations across the board.

eggery

They had a real rocky start to the season but they've been hot the last couple months. Be fun to see you guys make another run.

WabbitCZEN

I think SB hangover only applies to teams that win it.

Prophet92

I have to check again but if my memory serves it actually tends to hit the loser just as hard, if not harder.

theresabeeonyourhat

It hits significantly harder. Most losers don't even make the playoffs the next year

TerminalShitbag

Kim and Jimmy are so shitty to Howard Hamlin. He seems like a genuine person but they constantly shit on him and undermine him.

VRomero32

Two years ago, I met a woman named Stacey on a dating app after moving back home to Brooklyn from SF. Beautiful, fit lady with nice curves and one of the coolest jobs ever. We went on a few dates and I was really vibing with her. After discussing, we agreed to be non-exclusive/casual ("can see other people as long as it was ethical") especially since both of us had to leave Brooklyn for a few months between me needing to go back to SF for 2 months for work, sell my stake in a side business I had there and have proper send-off since I left abruptly during the pandemic and she had already planned to vacation with her girlfriends staying at a villa in France for 6 weeks around the same time. So we kept in touch during that but it wasn't much frequent since we both had a lot to do. When I got back, I reached out to her to pick things up and she told me she decided to stay there for another 2 months since they really loved it there and extended their rental. Similarly, we don't stay much in communication during this. Around that Christmas time, i reached out and she was back. We went out for cocktails and were talking about our travels. She did tell me she hooked up with two guys and was vivid about it while she was there. i did admit I did have short fling with an ex while in SF, I didn't share much details other than we parted on good terms and gave our previous relationship a proper closure. She didn't seem to care, me either and we had a few more drinks and agreed to connect back in the New Year. I text her in the new year, didn't hear back for 3 days, then she sends me an endless text about how hurt she was on second thought about me hooking up with someone in SF when we really had something special, etc. and she didn't want to hear from me ever again. At first, i was like good riddance because she clearly was "schizo" with all that double talk about non-exclusive BS, and how she was talking about hooking up with two guys while in France, etc. Over time though i started to oddly feel guilty thinking maybe I did do something wrong and didn't read signs that she really loved me and i blew it, etc. Then this weekend happened. I went to the movies to see M3GAN at the movie theater and in the theater bar area bumped into an old work acquaintance who also lived in Stacey's building after bumping into him once when I went to see her after the movie and we had a drink and started chatting. He then told me he had been dating her after "she broke up with me and which she also mentioned I cheated on her with many girls", he told me she during the summer went to Costa Rica with her gf's for 6 weeks and agreed to put the relationship they had on hold... when she got back, she had accused him of cheating with his roommate (a lesbian with a partner who are engaged and she was moving out a week later) and sent him a epic text talking about disloyalty. When he showed me that text which he kept on his phone... I realized I should always trust my gut.

Significance_Scary

you dodged a bullet. consider yourself lucky

lronicGasping

I think I might bandwagon the Jags this year

Significance_Scary

jump on

DetroitLionsSBChamps

addicted to rooting underdog I get it

Kohakuho

Quay's apology was better than Davante's

TheGarreth

Davante's stupidity didn't potentially cost his team a playoff spot. And there was at least some gray area in his circumstance.

Kohakuho

You're right. I was only comparing apology quality. Quay wins in the realm of stupidity.

TheGarreth

Unsurprisingly, what seems to be getting buried by all the talk about Quay Walker is that Aaron Rodgers last night, once again, played horribly in crunch time of a big game at home in January.

LetsConsultTheMap

Knew he'd get his shit kicked in by the niners again so he just avoided the issue altogether

WabbitCZEN

My bandwagoning for the Eagles has nothing to do with them as a team. I just want to see Jordan Davis win a SB after winning a Natty. DGD BABY! WOOF WOOF WOOF.

I guess I'm going all in on [Jags](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/zaqice/ian_rapoport_jaguars_coach_doug_pederson_tells/iyo7gu5/)

lets go!!!!

Legndarystig

When the regular season ends i get a bit sad because baseball is up next and I barely watch it anymore.

[deleted]

Yeah. We have Dodger games on every night as we bump around the house doing other stuff, but it's not the same.

DetroitLionsSBChamps

In Michigan, can deposits are worth 10 cents apiece and you can return them at any major grocery store, at any time. I bought my buddy's house and he and his wife were like "do you want the cans we have? we're not gonna take them back so if you don't want them we'll just throw them away." of course I want the cans. today I returned $80 worth of cans and there's still more. best money I can make, probably took all of 45 minutes.

key_lime_pie

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bottle_Deposit

PCPapist

Immediately what I thought of

TerminalShitbag

There's a few people who drive around the off campus area where I live and pick up cans on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I've seen their trucks that they basically put up fences in the bed and are full of cans

DetroitLionsSBChamps

yup in my college town there were always people going through the garbage cans looking for returnables.

Instagrimm

So, are the new playoff rules basically if Chiefs get the Bills or Bengals in the AFC Championship, it's a neutral field? Does the same happen if Bills or Bengals get any other team? And the coin flip thing isn't happening because Bengals won right?

jfgiv

>So, are the new playoff rules basically if Chiefs get the Bills or Bengals in the AFC Championship, it's a neutral field? No: given the way the Week 18 games shook out, the best Cincinnati could've done if the BUF/CIN game hadn't been cancelled was a 2-seed, so the Chiefs would host the Bengals in the AFCCG if it came to it. A Buffalo-Kansas City game would be at a neutral site, though, because Buffalo would have had the 1-seed if they'd beaten Cincinatti. >Does the same happen if Bills or Bengals get any other team? Again, no: the neutral site contingency *only* applied to two teams who 1) played an unequal number of games and 2) *could* have had the 1-seed if they'd played a full 17-game season. The *only* teams that would apply to would be the Chiefs vs. the Bills. >And the coin flip thing isn't happening because Bengals won right? That's correct.

Warms my heart to see multiple people in the Fireside Chat thread taking issue with Dov Kleiman.

theresabeeonyourhat

Connor Hughes is saying the Jets are gonna make a play for Lamar Jackson if he's available. As long as we can continue building on the line, sign me the fuck up. If we only have a window of 2 years, sign me up. I highly fucking doubt it happens, but if it does, AFCE is gonna be the best next year

Guiltyjerk

Getting unsticked for a fireside chat where nothing will change #fun

PrelectingPizza

Intermittent fasting has been good for. me, but sometimes it is absolute bullshit when I'm starving and have to wait a few more hours to eat.

DoctorWaluigiTime

Water usually does the trick for me.

PrelectingPizza

Sometimes it works for me, but most of the time it doesn't.

Illbeanicefella

Dean Pees, but he doesn’t coach anymore

yoshigronk

Did he actually retire?

Illbeanicefella

Yep

The man has retired 3 times at this point

Illbeanicefella

PrelectingPizza

Congratulations! Time to drop off the face of the earth for the rest of your friends and focus only on this relationship.

itsforwork12

Nah, I learned my lesson from the last relationship to not do that

PrelectingPizza

Good for you, man. I've seen so many people just disappear when they get into a relationship, sometimes forever.

gigglefarting

You should make sure.

itsforwork12

We're definitely exclusive, don't know if that's exactly bf/gf yet, though

gigglefarting

If you're exclusive, then you're definitely not single, and I'm pretty sure that comes with that label. Congrats.

princeslayer

Is there a clip of the running into the kicker call yesterday? Have heard so many comments about it, but haven't seen it yet.

gigglefarting

So the Dolphins and the Bills are going to face off in the first week of the playoffs, but the only way that could have happened is with a no contest in the Bills/Bengals game. If the Bills won they would have gotten 1st seed, and the Fins would face off with the Chiefs. If the Bengals won they would have gotten 2nd seed and be the ones to face off with the Dolphins. But neither won, so now the Bills and Dolphins will face off with each other.

Xeroxasaurs

What home playoff team do you think is most likely to be upset? Ima go with the Vikings.

[deleted]

I think the Vikings squeak past the Giants and then get absolutely trashed in the divisional round by the Niners. Betting on the Cowboys after the last couple weeks feels wrong, but if they bring their A game they should absolutely beat this Bucs team. Problem is everyone knows Brady is going to absolutely Brady them. Everyone can see it from a mile away. Chargers over Jags is probably also a pick I could see but that game feels like more of a coin flip.

ACW1129

Depending if the Chargers are healthy, the Jags. I don't see the Bills or Bengals losing, even against divisional foes. Otherwise, yeah, likely MIN.

StChas77

The Chargers are road favorites over the Jags by 1.5 points as of this morning. Cowboys are road favorites by 3 over the Bucs as well.

ACW1129

I'm not picking against Brady.

StChas77

I have mixed feelings about the game since either Brady or Dallas goes home. I'll probably pull for the Bucs, but I won't be torn up if it goes the other way.

Xeroxasaurs

Yeah no way Bills losing especially if Tua is not playing. I think Bills are the easiest lock for a win.

gigglefarting

If Tua's playing then it could go either way. It was a close game a couple of weeks ago when they played in Buffalo. If Tua's not playing, then I don't have much faith in them winning at Buffalo.

Xeroxasaurs

Yeah, for sure IF Tua is there then I’d definitely give Miami a shot. But idk without him, I just feel it’d be very very hard for them to go into Buffalo and knock the Bills out you know. But it’s the NFL, anything can happen.

[deleted]

What a wild year. To think this team that was genuinely playing as poor as they did was a few plays out of the playoffs is pretty nuts. Either Lions game was winnable with better play, Giants in London was a choke job, Commanders was absolutely a winnable game. But hey, that's why they play the games. Offseason Wishlist: 1. A Quick resolution to whatever the fuck Rodgers is gonna do. I hope we can go into draft night knowing what the QB situation is gonna be. Retire, Trade, or Hold the Course. We're in a weird space right now where I could really see any of the three options being amenable. Dude has good reason to say he was being held back by a weak receiving corps this year to keep his value up in a trade situation, but it does look to me like he's lost a step. 2. Get Joe Barry away from this team. I don't care how we looked in December, September-November was worthy of losing that job. Would love to see if we can't get Leonhard to come be DC. 3. Don't pick up Love's 5th year. If he shows he should come back for 2024, figure it out then, if he earns a bigger contract than 26/year, that's a good problem to have, tbh.

squarerootofapplepie

This Patriots season really shows how not being a great team magnifies every missed call. If you’re a great team you find a way to win games so bad calls are forgotten. This year though there was the awful call in the Raiders game that was made more important by Meyers throwing the awful lateral. I don’t think refs are biased, they just miss calls and if you aren’t a great team you don’t have the ability to overcome those calls.

somecleverphrase

Still funny to see mahomes as the old man in the AFC playoffs.

eggery

That blows my mind

[deleted]

Every time I hear about Bryce Young his height keeps getting shorter. What team would draft a 5'6" QB at #1?

BruceChameleon

They didn't even scout me. The NFL has a real problem with prejudice toward short people (and people who quit after 6th grade).

MattTheSmithers

NFL is filled to the brim with height supremacists.

coolmanvoncool

When 5'10 Kyler Murray was drafted by the Cardinals a lot of people weren't sure about drafting 5'6 quarterback but after taking the Cardinals to the postseason as a 5'2 QB people are now wondering about short quarterbacks considering the success of Kyler Murray (4'8")

MattTheSmithers

If I were a GM, my number one pick at quarterback would be Danny DeVito.

my daughter was like this into 3 and 4 honestly. not super into food, would have just drank milk all day long if we let her. they'll figure it out, you just gotta hold the line. at 13 months I wouldn't be worried at all.

[deleted]

My nephew was like that for a while. You just gotta find something they likes to chew on. Like vegetable sticks.

They just starting eating on their own. First nephew starting eating at 4, second born like in a few months after being born.

Illbeanicefella

My niece was like that it drove my sister crazy. She took her to several different doctors and then one day she just finally started eating solids and never looked back

So far quiet black Monday

RedBuchan

Well four got fired before we even reached Black Monday. I'm not too sure who else is expected to be fired.

ACW1129

Four? Hackett, Rhule, Lovie...who am I forgetting?

reading the explanation for why the Bills Bengals game was not going to be resumed/replayed, I still cannot understand why either team would agree to it. Both teams beat the Chiefs this year and if they had an identical record, would have a chance at the #1 seed and the bye.

rob_var

Bills were 12-3, bengals were 11-4 not exactly equal record

[deleted]

What I mean is, going into their game, both teams could still have had an identical record to KC.

krsb09

Neither team had a choice whether to agree/disagree.

[deleted]

they had an owners meeting prior to the start of the last week and voted against postponing the playoffs, meaning the game would not be resumed.

Reading all of the retrospective articles and tweets waxing poetic about the young delicate genius Sean McVay retiring (when he hasn’t even retired yet) is cringey. I have three thoughts if he does retire: 1) Let’s not pretend like he won’t be back in a year or two; 2) I am not going to say the kid doesn’t have an impressive resume, but good grief. Can we hold off on the bronze bust for now? He New York Yankee’d his way to a title and is now bailing before the cap and draft pick (or lack of) situation catches up to him; 3) I hope I never hear the words “offensive guru” again. I am so tired of the whole boy genius offensive mastermind trope that GMs and owners can’t stop wanking to.
