I know AJ and Devonta make some incredible catches in this reel but a year ago Hurts wouldn’t have even attempted these throws. He’s putting the ball where his receivers can get them and putting trust in them to do the rest. His deep ball has gotten prettier too. Hopefully he can take another massive leap like this one.
His improvement over last year is astounding, it's impressive how much he improved his pre-snap and accuracy compared to his first 2 years. And that deep ball to AJ Brown against the steelers was insane.

Eagles just put 31 on them without really attempting to throw the ball. We ran it right at their rush defense, over and over and over. Eagles were up 21-7 at the half and the game was over, Chiefs were up 14-13 at the half but had to keep playing.

Maybe I don’t understand the separation stat, but how are some of those .7 yards, and that one against the Titans .6 yards when the guy covering them is right on top of them? .7 yards is just over 2 feet, and they clearly weren’t two feet away. Can anyone explain it to me?

Now that I think of it, this data is likely gathered from the sensors in the players shoulder pads. So even the width of the player himself would give 2 ft of separation from the sensors.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they had the units wrong on some of those. If it was 0.6 ft that would be more believable

I know AJ and Devonta make some incredible catches in this reel but a year ago Hurts wouldn’t have even attempted these throws. He’s putting the ball where his receivers can get them and putting trust in them to do the rest. His deep ball has gotten prettier too. Hopefully he can take another massive leap like this one.
His improvement over last year is astounding, it's impressive how much he improved his pre-snap and accuracy compared to his first 2 years. And that deep ball to AJ Brown against the steelers was insane. He's definitely one of if not the best deep ball passer in the league. I love watching him play.

I was wondering the same, and some of these percentages actually seem high for being difficult, highlight-level plays. Should I expect this outcome 1/4 times the play is run, or 1/4 times when the exact same conditions (separation, speed, etc) are present?
