Umm, I thought Brady didn't want to end up in the Bay area, because his oldest kid lives with his mom in NYC and moving to the west coast would make it a lot harder to see his oldest. 5 hour flight vs 2 hour flight.
I always thought "that MFer" was Tribusky/Chicago.
Romo calling out every play and Tom Brady growing increasingly annoyed at why they would even ponder calling that and pull out some random 2004 NFL Europe game as evidence of why it was a terrible call

Not all threads were bad but there were some awful takes in some with everyone seemingly downvoted any 49er fan saying "our offense couldn't do anything without our QB" or "of course our defense didn't look elite when the offense couldn't stay on the field" or even "Purdy is a good QB."
"I didn't know *insert 49ers offensive skill player here* played defense?"
The amount of casuals that say this just annoy me so much. Yeah congrats you beat us, it took taking out a 3rd and 4th string QB, but at the end of the day you won. Stop acting like it was because your team was infinitely better.
That and having *an* option to throw the ball is better than literally no option by putting an injured player back in.
It might be a terrible option, but when there's no option, of course the defense will just stack the line every play.
It's not an option if you dont have it in the playbook. What is the RB going to do? he doesn't know all of the routes. Even the dolphins when they ran it heavily only had 15-20 plays in that formation. At least running plays you actually know, is beneficial to the players hoping they might make an individual play
Well, our 4th string qb got injured too so might as well get Aaron Rodgers too for the 5 qbs it will take to potentially get to the super bowl and then considering our luck we'll need one more qb, 6 total, if we make it to the super bowl.
Not only that, Tom would change the way refs treat us. The NFL would fucking cream over that storyline, they'd show his baby picture every god damn commercial break.
Brady ran McDaniels' offense for years, he ain't gonna whine when he's got one of the best offensive minds in the game giving him plays. After these last two weeks have panned out, I'm 90% sure Brady is going to try to sign with the Niners and if they take him, he's gonna play as long as he can. That's his childhood team.
Currently at 16.6 Mill in cap space. Bosa contract probably be done this off season. Have 23 of our own FA's which includes either resigning McGlinchy or drafting/signing his replacement. Getting Gould a new contract also among others.
Possibly rework T. Williams contract to free up more cap space and some others.
I have hated this man for so, so, so long. Like, irrationally so. Perhaps it’s because I lived in Boston for ten years during his reign of terror.
But I think, at this point, I’m just tired man. We’ve been knocking on the door for so long, maybe it is time to just let Brady open it.
He is the chosen one. A young Tom Brady sat in the seats at the end zone where Joe Montana threw to win over the Dallas Cowboys, now famously called “The Catch”.
One can’t help but think some of that magic landed on him. He will rejoin his childhood team and end our drought, giving us the lead over the rival Cowboys.
Not to mention he helped destroy our other rival, the Seahawks. He’s going to look awesome in Red and Gold.
Honestly this is EXACTLY how I feel. It’s time. Bring Brady home and let’s get over the hump. It’s going to hurt my soul to cheer for Brady but if he can get Kittle and Warner a ring, I’ll kiss his arrogant ass for the rest of my life. But I can’t imagine how much him and Kyle will butt heads
Get Brady and you are immediately a top contender for the SB next year. Send Jimmy G off for a decent haul, let Lance and Purdy knife fight to be the backup/heir apparent when Brady retires.
Well, Jimmy G is definitely talented (I think he's a starter on some teams and he's easily QB2 for most of the league) but he has enough of a track record that he's going to be expensive to keep.
Lance and Purdy are currently very cheap and the market for them is probably not *great*. Lance has only played what, 3 or 4 games as the starter. Purdy definitely will have some interest after his impressive run this year but I don't think anyone is mortgaging their future on him without more development.
I want to keep Lance and Purdy, but am not opposed to signing Brady for a year as a bridge to help those two transition back after injury and maybe make a super bowl run. I hate agreeing on this because I never wanted Brady before, and because of your flair 😘
One day, every time that our children's children are watching the Superbowl, a hearse will trundle out at halftime to gift the reanimated corpse of Tom Brady to the least fortunate team in the playoffs that year.
“That was tough just to see that happen, but at the same time, it’s the reality of the sport. Philly deserved it. They had an incredible season. They played well on defense. They forced that pass and the injury to Brock [Purdy] there on his wrist or his elbow.
It’s truly part of the sport. It’s a contact sport, and that’s why it’s a demolition derby.”
Certain schemes and plays also put your QB more at risk. Like the 800 designed runs against Chicago that not only increased the chances for Hurts to get injured by in fact resulted in Hurts getting hurt.
Gives Philly too much credit. Needs to talk a bit more about how scrappy SF was, then transition into asking if Brady would be a better fit on the Browns or the Vikings
He’ll either win a ring with his childhood team to finish his story and retire, or our QB curse will truly be too much and he’ll be struck by lightning during the season or playoffs.
Sounds like a win-win for everyone who wants him to stop playing, no?
I would 100% buy that, watch the first season he is finally out of the league is the one where the 9ers finally get a franchise QB after 30 years of purgatory.
I really start to wonder if Shanahan is the problem and you don’t have a QB curse…For whatever reason, he’s never been able to keep QB’s healthy (or any offensive skill player - especially running backs)
>he’s never been able to keep QB’s healthy (or any offensive skill player - especially running backs)
Was he not the offensive coordinator in Atlanta for two years where Matt Ryan started every single game?
Somehow ofc CMC, the glass man, managed.
All things considered, we had a remarkably healthy season outside of the QB position (and CB, but both of the ones injured are VERY injury prone) , specifically the last half.
> (and CB, but both of the ones injured are VERY injury prone
Amazingly, Jason Verrett had a great year during the 2020 covid season while damn near the rest of the team was injured. The football gods have a crazy sense of humor.
He has no effect on QB health honestly. Regarding RBs, I believe there was some research that proved that guys in the wide zone scheme do end up having more knee injuries due to the nature of the cuts they need to make.
I don’t get why you guys have been so resistant. He’s the GOAT for god’s sake. He didn’t miss a single game for us and he looked slightly off this year because this Bucs team around him was a fucking dumpster fire, and he lost 15 pounds from the divorce drama.
With the talent on your team he’ll have another 2021 MVP worthy season.
As a saints fan it’s weird seeing just the number of Niners fans who just don’t want or like Tom Brady.
Like he’s the hometown kid right? And like you said he’s the GOAT (no matter what Barry Mcockiner says), but it seems like so many 9ers fans dislike and even kind of resent Brady.
I have to agree with you. One of the best abilities is availability which was the driving force behind moving on from Jimmy in the first place after getting hurt again in 2020 and now they’re thrust in the same situation again with Purdy’s elbow and Lance returning from a surgically repaired ankle/foot. It’s major cope if they don’t think Tom makes a difference vs Philly or LA last year.
Hey guys, I'm Tom Brady. I'm future Quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. And I'm here to tell you can, too, if you start everyday with a hearty breakfast from McDonald's.
It’s true, but that’s football. Doesn’t take away from the Eagles. Go Birds (but when you face the Niners next year pls don’t kill the QB room this time)!

well the 49ers couldn't stick with any mofo long enough this season so there's that
All the nightshades collected in Brock Purdy's Chock-a-Block Brock Cock and now he's injured.
Wow, he really is perfect for his upcoming analyst gig
Just needs to get down his "I don't know Jim..."
"I don't know Kevin..." and if he gets to narrate a Derek Carr game "and That Motherfucker throws an incompletion"
My heart tells me that "That motherfucker" *has* to be Jimmy G, though. Who else?
It’s basically been confirmed that it’s Derek Carr. Jon Gruden vetoed a trade that would’ve sent Gronk and Brady to the Raiders.
Umm, I thought Brady didn't want to end up in the Bay area, because his oldest kid lives with his mom in NYC and moving to the west coast would make it a lot harder to see his oldest. 5 hour flight vs 2 hour flight. I always thought "that MFer" was Tribusky/Chicago.
let’s be honest, there were a lot of “that motherfuckers” in the league at the time.
Basically any team at the time that thought there QB was better would be applicable. So basically the entire league
And as we all know, Tom would never put football before family.
In that same interview he said he wouldn’t have gone there anyway, and i find it hard to believe he wouldn’t want to play for Shanahan and the niners
No no it’s more like “I DUNNOOOOO GEEM, …”
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUURRRGGGHH I DUNNO JIM
You're just missing the "EEeeeeeeeeugghghghgheghguuhuh" at the beginning.
Tony Romo speaks German?
[удалено]
I don't see them getting along at all.
My guess is Brady would cut every Romo talking point the way Shaq does Chuck on TNT. "Rings, Tony"
Romo calling out every play and Tom Brady growing increasingly annoyed at why they would even ponder calling that and pull out some random 2004 NFL Europe game as evidence of why it was a terrible call
But then we would be denied the term "Bromo" to describe their team up and line of CBD gummies
I'm imagining Romo calling Mahomes the "Michael Jordan of football" in front of Tom.
I can think of at least 7 reasons why they wouldn’t.
On board if it was on Showtime and not CBS. I want this team up to be uncensored, so we don't need to worry about the FCC and broadcast standards. I want the Jack Daniels (white wine spritzers for T Romo) flowing, the THC gummies consumed, and the language free flowing.
100% Brady would murder Romo on air.
"Can a game end on a mistake?" - man who famously fumbled a fg hold and lost
EAAIIAGHGHHHH I DON’T KNOW JIM.
“If you lose the most valuable position of your team… you will lose.” -~~Will Buxton~~ Tom Brady
Only like a month until we can stock up on Buxton and Horner memes. Let’s goooooo
Not even. I bet for some spice to start Friday in NYC lol. Horner loves the attention and a big reveal with Ford potentially? No better time to say something inflammatory
Plot twist: this statement was the inevitable foreshadowing of Brady joining the 9ers to prevent them from ever having quarterback worries again.
Niners curse would make him have a career ending injury first day on camp
At that point you just need to accept that you're cursed and bring in some a priest or a shaman or whatever to try and get rid of it.
Priest Holmes is way way retired already

Tebow out of retirement?
How will the niners curse cause Raiden to steal the amulet?
The irresistible force meeting the immovable object.
And then shows he's washed while eating 20% of their cap
I hate these snippets of the comments that make it like it's all they said.

49ers lost because the Eagles scored more points

“When it rains, the ball gets wet” - future Tom Brady commentary
lol yeah. We all got that.
I think he’s addressing the commentators here.
I’d love for Tom Brady to pull out a list of specific Reddit comments that upset him
"Athletes read mean reddit comments" new segment on Kimmel
That would be fun. I would even settle to just have Kelvin Benjamin read copy pasta.
"You had me at pasta" - Kelvin Benjamin, hypothetically
Russ acting out "Let Russ" memes.
"Copy pasta? So there's twice as much?"
Oh no, he’s going to discover /r/nfceastmemewar or /r/nfcnorthmemewar and just read out how disappointed he is.
nah there was never a chance because the defense that had to play the whole 2nd half couldn't hold them to 0 points and negative rushing yards
Not all threads were bad but there were some awful takes in some with everyone seemingly downvoted any 49er fan saying "our offense couldn't do anything without our QB" or "of course our defense didn't look elite when the offense couldn't stay on the field" or even "Purdy is a good QB."

I don't think anyone was saying wildcat was gonna win the game... I think they were saying wildcat would have been more fun to watch
That and having *an* option to throw the ball is better than literally no option by putting an injured player back in. It might be a terrible option, but when there's no option, of course the defense will just stack the line every play.

I do wonder if that would have been a slightly more viable option if Mitchell was available
It wouldn't have. But it'd be better than telegraphing *run* for 20 minutes
Running the same 3 Wildcat plays in the playbook for 20 minutes, maybe 1 of which was practiced, wouldn’t be telegraphing anything?
Yeah, Kyle should have just designed some new plays on the fly and told everyone their routes and assignments. Easy, why didn't he think of that?
Don’t you fucking do it, Tom
[удалено]
Oh lawd, he comin'
I can already hear faint whistles of “The Farmer in the Dell” in the streets of SF.
Walk softly, and carry a big ~~stick~~ ~~shotgun~~ playbook
You got the briefcase, I got the playbook. All in the game though.
He couldn’t beat Purdy on the field, so he has to join the team
That motherfucker is gonna absorb Purdy's life force
Stay out of the splash zone.
I’ve been against it forever but I think it’s time
You saw the light. Brady’s curse finally worked.
So they are not sticking with that mfer anymore?
With how much we get injured at QB, fuck it. stick with Tom AND jimmy.
Reunited and it feels so good!
Jimmy G walking into the QB room with Tom Brady: I'm back, MOFO.
Get Brady, keep Jimmy, Trey, and Purdy. That way when you inevitably go down to your 4th string QB in the playoffs, you know he's capable of winning.
Well, our 4th string qb got injured too so might as well get Aaron Rodgers too for the 5 qbs it will take to potentially get to the super bowl and then considering our luck we'll need one more qb, 6 total, if we make it to the super bowl.
Your entire team should be made of QB's.
They are already converting CMC.
No time better than age 46
He should retire at age 49 playing for the 49ers.
Can’t wait until his retirement from the NBA in 2053
It's too perfect for the script. It must be done.

As long as he remains in the NFC. That's all I'm asking. Keep the bad man out of the AFC. We got enough chaos as it is right now lol.
Honestly this is EXACTLY how I feel. It’s time. Bring Brady home and let’s get over the hump. It’s going to hurt my soul to cheer for Brady but if he can get Kittle and Warner a ring, I’ll kiss his arrogant ass for the rest of my life. But I can’t imagine how much him and Kyle will butt heads
how is Brady arrogant? dude is pretty humble and honestly comes across as one of the most empathetic and kind superstars in sports
Get Brady and you are immediately a top contender for the SB next year. Send Jimmy G off for a decent haul, let Lance and Purdy knife fight to be the backup/heir apparent when Brady retires.
Jimmy is a free agent
Yeah but you don't tell that to the teams you're trying to trade with.
😂 Jimmy to Indy for Buckner. Who says no?
>Who says no? probably Indy
Just go through Irsay directly before they hire a coach. It'll be fffiiiiiiiinnnneee
Ah, my bad. I think the rest is probably valid though.
I hate that I'm saying this, for multiple reasons, but I agree
Well, Jimmy G is definitely talented (I think he's a starter on some teams and he's easily QB2 for most of the league) but he has enough of a track record that he's going to be expensive to keep. Lance and Purdy are currently very cheap and the market for them is probably not *great*. Lance has only played what, 3 or 4 games as the starter. Fucking do it, Tom!
Gonna burst into the Niners QB room like Kramer on Seinfeld.
Can’t wait to hear about how Tom turned the 49er franchise around and no other QB could’ve done it
SF: we’ve got Deebo, CMC…. Mercenary Tom: say no more.
Please fucking do it Tommy.
One day, every time that our children's children are watching the Superbowl, a hearse will trundle out at halftime to gift the reanimated corpse of Tom Brady to the least fortunate team in the playoffs that year.
Tom, know a guy who doesn’t get injured?
Bah Gawd, that’s Eli Manning’s music!
Brett Favre coming back from retirement to distract from his fraud case
** Pay restitution
"So you guys, I need to make like $80,000,000 this season. Cool?"
His ability to avoid serious injury is pretty impressive.
Because he collapses like Obi-Wan Kenobi whenever he’s touched (Which is a good thing, key to his longevity given his lack of athleticism)
It's funny that this can honestly be said about a guy who actually missed a season with a torn ACL at one point.
ply-a-bil-it-y.
Tom wouldn’t have told anyone he was hurt until March when he had surgery and was like “oh yeah my arm was fucked since the championship game”
Tom Brady simultaneously threatening the 49ers qb room and fox commentators with this one statement.
Ohhhhh. I knew SF played like shit on offense but I couldn’t put my finger on it until now.
[удалено]
Thanks Booger
Must be a slow news day at Florio HQ.
Normally, he just makes shit up about Rodgers when that happens. Never seen someone with a bigger hate boner for someone than Florio for Rodgers
He is so going to the 49ers. I've already booked it in my head.
I was skeptical before but… my body is ready.
Yeah but is *his* body?
Excuse me, we don’t ask those questions until they are dead
All my QBs are dead. Push me to the edge.
Yeah of course, it runs on corn oil and kale. He’ll be ready until he’s 97 and a half.
Brady already putting his feelers out lol
"hey 9ers, you up?"
“Ya ;-) U down for some vet minimum?”
Please god QB1 Brady QB2 Brock QB3 Lance And Brock and Lance can learn a lot from Tom
And Jimmy G once again gets locked out of the facility by Brady
*again*
Lance has 2 years left on his contract. If Tom comes in, Lance never plays QB for the Niners again.
Possibly true. Have to also consider 49ers window right now.
My HS soccer coach said at first practice that we play a contact sport. He pointed to the football field and said, that is a collision sport.
i'm stealing this. It's brilliant.
Certain schemes and plays also put your QB more at risk. Like the 800 designed runs against Chicago that not only increased the chances for Hurts to get injured by in fact resulted in Hurts getting hurt.
And how the 9ers lost Trey Lance this year!
I remember when there was a designed run for Purdy last week. I was so happy he didn't get injured.
Gives Philly too much credit. Needs to talk a bit more about how scrappy SF was, then transition into asking if Brady would be a better fit on the Browns or the Vikings
He probably would be a better fit on both those teams even in his mid 40s
This isn’t going to be a popular comment but he sounds a lot like Darius Slay here
"it's truly part of the sport" wow Tom Brady saying this weeks after what happened to Hamlin? Tom Brady out here celebrating injuries!
I have been Brady resistant up until now, but you know what, come home Tom.
He’ll either win a ring with his childhood team to finish his story and retire, or our QB curse will truly be too much and he’ll be struck by lightning during the season or playoffs. Sounds like a win-win for everyone who wants him to stop playing, no?
Have you considered that Brady cursed you with a “If I won’t quarterback this team, nobody will!” curse?
I would 100% buy that, watch the first season he is finally out of the league is the one where the 9ers finally get a franchise QB after 30 years of purgatory.
But they are about to get Brady, and he'll lead them for 5 more years.
I really start to wonder if Shanahan is the problem and you don’t have a QB curse…For whatever reason, he’s never been able to keep QB’s healthy (or any offensive skill player - especially running backs)
>he’s never been able to keep QB’s healthy (or any offensive skill player - especially running backs) Was he not the offensive coordinator in Atlanta for two years where Matt Ryan started every single game?
Also Jimmy got hurt like in his second start in NE, his injury bug wasn’t totally new when he got to SF.
To be fair, Matt Ryan is like Brady in the sense that he simply doesn’t get hurt
Fair point. Matt Ryan was a gritty boi. Maybe that’s what Shanahan needs
Somehow ofc CMC, the glass man, managed. All things considered, we had a remarkably healthy season outside of the QB position (and CB, but both of the ones injured are VERY injury prone) , specifically the last half.

It's just about ego for some Niner "fans".
Just imagine a QB winning a ring for 3 different franchises
*Your brain on a Josh Johnson crippling snap fumble*
