Not even a Niners fan and I really hope this kid is healthy for training camp. We all love an underdog story and Purdy deserves a shot to compete for that starting spot at the very least.
One of my favorite parts of the Purdy story is how the whole team and org *knew* this was in him from training camp. He may have shocked the world, but not his team.
Didnāt Brett Kollman even comment during training camp that he looked good? Obviously didnāt really predict *this* level of performance but thatās still interesting to me that a non-Niners analyst/reporter made note of it
He did well enough to cut Sudfeld they gave $2M guaranteed to put Purdy on the 53 man roster and generally there was positive sentiment about him.

Purdy technically embodies the spirit of Rocky, a plucky underdog that went up against the greatest boxer at that time in Apollo Creed. In the end they become best friends.
Similarities end with that though, as we all know it didn't come down to the wire.
