He was also drafted by the eagles and had a great season under Chip during his first stint as a bird

[deleted]

gobroncos47

Also tied the record for most TD passes in a single game. Tied with some bum named Patton Mandy and another guy named Dre Beads.

thehoagieboy

His jersey is in the HoF for it until the next guy gets 8 TDs. Nick was so streaky, but he hit when we needed him.

alexanaxstacks

That Patton game was fuckin absurd too cus it wasn't even supposed to be in their stadium

LTS55

Also he was the only 7TD game to have a perfect QB rating so it was basically the best statistical game by a QB ever

DJ_Moore_2

And a few other guys.

Domestic_AA_Battery

I became a hardcore fan after Chip was finally fired. But I caught a handful of Foles games and funny enough, I thought that the Eagles could win a Super Bowl with him someday. Talk about a monkey paw curling. What a wild ride.

[deleted]

Thought he was going to be our franchise qb and was pissed when we got rid of him and then so hyped when we got him back. He then proved me right with his Super Bowl performance.

SwissyVictory

Two good seasons and one great one. He was good in 3 separate seasons with the Eagles one of them years apart. People act like he had 3 good games.

TrustedSpy

And what a hell of a run it was.

iH8Celtics

He turned into a God against the Vikings and Pats.

Iceraptor17

Tom Brady turned in one of the greatest SB performances probably ever. 28/48 3 tds 0 ints for 505 yards. If you told me that Brady did that against the Eagles defense (which was really good), I'd been like "oh man the pats must have killed them". And it was in a losing effort because Nick Foles _was that guy_.

Someonediffernt

I've got lots of fond superbowl memories but for some reason, even though we lost that game, it's my 2nd favorite superbowl I've watched ever. It was just such a fun game to watch when sometimes they can be pretty mid (looking at you LIII) that I kinda slipped outta my pats Fandom for like 4 hours and was just like "Holy shit this might be the best game of football I've ever seen 2 teams play"

[deleted]

Now imagine that game being your first Super Bowl win after years of waiting. Magic.

[deleted]

That’s why I feel like my fandom hype has gone down a bit since that win. I still love the eagles and def want us to win on Sunday but nothing will ever come close to topping that for me. I was also living in center city at the time and it was insane after the win. One of the best moments of my life.

_Timsh3l

I can empathize with this feeling. As a Broncos fan that was a bit too young to truly appreciate the Elway SuperBwol wins, but watched as we struggled in the early 2000's against the Colts/Steelers with Plummer and Cutler. Watching Peyton Manning get blown out by the SeaHawks (easily the lowest point of my fandom in terms of satisfaction) and thinking we'd missed our SuperBowl chance just a year later when Peyton lost a step and we lost to the Colts. 2015 was magical. The defense put the team on it's back and it was such a collective effort. Never have I been more proud or felt greater joy about being a Broncos fan.

[deleted]

Love hearing stories like that. Thanks for sharing! After a 15 year wait we finally got season tickets the year they won it all too. An important detail I should mentioned because it legit made everything too perfect.

[deleted]

as a clemson fan its how I feel about 2015 natty

Ftb2278

I have to imagine taking a loss is much easier when you have five championships in the years/decades preceeding to placate you. I hope my team gets to that point some day.

Datpanda1999

He had the power of God and BDE on his side

TheBestNormalCitizen

The cock’s ticking I just count the hours

captaincumsock69

Great catch too

schmatz17

Don’t forget his 27-2 TD/Int season and 7 td game where he was pulled early.

NoTimeToDime

Has there ever been a 7TD game where the QB *wasnt* pulled? Closest game in that situation I can think of is the Saints v Giants shootout a while back where I think both Eli and Brees had 6, maybe Eli had 5. But typically if you score 7 the games over lol I think Brady was pulled in a game where he had 6 in the first half or some shit.

mr_himselph

Another one was Matt Flynn throwing 6 against the lions. He wasn't pulled early because he was already the backup when they rested Rodgers week 17.

wowie2024

I always joke with my fellow Lions fan that Flynn should have to donate 10% of that contract he got. Our secondary was so unbelievably bad and Flynn could not miss the entire game

FlexPavillion

Brees had 7 that game and Eli had 6

GCV250

Brees had 7 TD’s and needed all of them to win. 13 passing TD’s between Drew and Eli that game. 52-49, I think the first Saints game I watched funnily enough.

PleasantWay7

Ah yes, the time Brady got 5 TDs in one quarter in the snow.

elbenji

In The Tua come out game against the Ravens he didn't get pulled

[deleted]

In *10* games. Dude was one a pace to have over 40 TDs and under 10 INTS

downtimeredditor

Well they drafted him He went what 27 TD - 2 Ints and into the playoffs and I believe a pro-bowl in the regular season with them And he took them to a Superbowl win including an Superbowl MVP. And the guy has a massive dick which has nothing to do with the Eagles it's just a fun fact

letdogsvote

Huge wang. Should've just made a huge wang statue. Life size.

[deleted]

They have a statue of him??

Lyndell

PhlabloPicasso

I didn’t realize it was a Foles *and* Pederson statue.

eggery

The visor has been immortalized.

Domestic_AA_Battery

"Yeah, let's do it"

[deleted]

That’s actually pretty epic. Damn.

Brad_theImpaler

It's weird that it has Bud Light stamped into the base though.

[deleted]

Not when you consider they paid for it after the whole “Philly Philly” “dilly dilly” thing

ThisHatRightHere

They’re the ones who commissioned it and put it there. The organization/stadium just said yeah do it.

guns_n_crypto

Philly loves - and hates - with more intensity than just about any other fanbase. It really is brotherly love, with all the ups and downs.

mr_showboat

Nick Foles is second only to Kurt Warner in the rankings of "Noteworthy QBs who had a weird as shit career"

[deleted]

Had the Record for Best TD to Int Ratio, shares the record for most touchdowns in a game, Superbowl winner and Superbowl MVP. Perennial backup. I think he might be my favorite player ever.

theordinarypoobah

Shares the record for most consecutive completions in a game as well, if I'm not mistaken. Might have been eclipsed since then.

GameBuster0703

Im 90% sure it was by Philip Rivers in 2017

Renkan

They both currently share the tie with Tannehill and Mariota.

Yung_Corneliois

What a ridiculous group lol

GameBuster0703

Oh well they did it in two games. Not nearly as impressive as going 25 straight in the same game

sebastianqu

4 way tie between Tannehill, Mariota, Foles and Rivers

TetrisTech

The Four Pillars

WorryAccomplished139

I love that it wasn't all at once either. He had two separate, short-lived stints as one of the best QBs in the league 5 years apart from each other.

dioxy186

How much of that is just not having consistent coaching? Like what would Foles be like under Andy Reid? Seems weird to be that wildy inconsistent between bad and top in the league at their position.

333Freeze

It was reported that Pederson looked at plays from the Chip Kelly days to mold the offense more toward Foles' strengths. The RPO was one such concept. I didn't watch Foles play much on other teams but it seemed like he was made to play their system, not play a system built around him

JeddHampton

If I recall correctly, they went back to college even. They were just looking for plays where Foles had success. They wanted to put together an offensive gameplan where he'd succeed. Obviously, he did well with the Chip offense, so there were a lot of ideas and concepts taken from there.

Kershiser22

Didn't Foles play for Reid in Phi and KC?

dioxy186

I don't think so. I think he was with Doug.

shampooing_strangers

He was drafted by Reid. Dougie P (Eagles QB coach at the time) personally scouted/met Nick and played a huge role in Reid drafting him. Nick would later contemplate retirement after being released by the Jeff Fischer Rams in 2015. Reid convinced him to come play for him at least one more year, and this reignited Nick’s love for the game. Dougie P brings Nick back to Philly in 2017 and the rest is history.

JohnHaloGuy

Nothing sums it up quite like this. As a 32 year old Cowboys fan, for years the only thing I could hang my hat on is that Philly never won a Bowl. Then this well endowed prick comes along and dookies on my dreams like he's the second coming of Jerral Wayne Jones. I've learned to accept it as a fan of the league and its history. He won't be a HOFer, but Foles sure as hell hits that criteria of "can you tell the story of the game without him?".

jclibs

He's already in the hall of fame for his 7 TD game, the madlad got in before he even retired

brownbearks

Best part is that he grew up a cowboys fan, he’s from the Dallas suburbs.

JohnHaloGuy

The other thing that blows is I'm also an Oklahoma fan (im a masochist), and live in Houston. So Hurts has been a big name in my house for a while, and I always loved that dude. At least there is one silver lining if you guys win it all again.

19_equals_1

wait does he actually have a big dick? like length or girth?

OverlyOptimisticNerd

> shares the record for most touchdowns in a game Chip Kelly didn’t seem to like Foles and kept resisting naming him the starter. Then Nick tosses 7TDs and Kelly pulls him super early. He could have broken the record that day.

Pabst34

Indeed, it's often forgotten that in 2013, Foles came out of nowhere in relief of an injured Michael Vick to have a season so unreal that in many ways it was crazier (and certainly better statistically) than 2017.

ktbsquared

The game where he threw for 7 TD’s comes to mind

_Alvin_Row_

I started him and Riley Cooper in a fantasy league that year. The two of them put up a combined like 75 points. For one brief moment I was a god

horse_renoir13

27 TDs and only 2 INTs That's fucking absurd

Pabst34

And, in only ten starts. He threw TDs on 8.5% of his passes. His y/a was 9.1 and *y/c was 14.1*

floatinround22

It is also the 4th best passer rating ever in a season behind only 2011 Aaron Rodgers, 2020 Aaron Rodgers, and 2004 Peyton Manning. It's two points better than 2007 Brady

TetrisTech

What the fuck

jakey_bear

And his first interception of the season came in a [blizzard against the Lions](https://youtu.be/hO3lL80SHIE). Skip to 3:40 to get a good look at how heavy the snow was coming down and then the interception.

Glute_Thighwalker

I missed going to that game because I had a lifting competition in KoP, then had to drive back home to Delaware in it. Still got to watch it on DVR. Absolute insanity.

jakey_bear

I remember knowing there was a chance of snow, but predictions were less than an inch of accumulation. The Linc got 8 inches of snow during the game.

Nickelas

Eagles fans told me he was qb of the future after that game and I believed them. The NFL is crazy but foles career is somehow even crazier

PearlsofRon

I mean, the following season he wasn't putting up crazy stats, but the eagles were 5-2. He breaks his collar bone, we start mark Sanchez (even when Foles was healthy again, because fuck chip Kelly) and end the season 8-8. Chip was such a fucking moron lol

AlexB9598W

Jim Plunkett and Tommy Maddox somewhere in that top 5?

FC37

Tom Tupa. Today is his birthday, too.

some-ersatz-eve

Even outside of being our Super Bowl MVP, it's wild how many random franchise records Foles holds for how briefly he was here. It feels like every time an Eagles QB does something notable, the beat writers are saying something like, "This is the first time an Eagles QB achieved this since Nick Foles in 2013/2018." He is our beloved prodigal son and we will give him a send-off for the ages when the time comes.

Rhodie114

Shows up in your locker room. Breaks all your franchise records. Refuses to elaborate.

SuperMaanas

Nick Foles could’ve been a really good starter if you guys didn’t screw him with the Bradford trade

JustAnotherINFTP

Bradford could have been a really good starter if he didn't break every bone every night

drabdron

My biggest regret is…that I have…boneitis

TakenakaHanbei

That first game he had with the Vikings against the Saints was unbelieveable... Unfortunately it killed his knee (tendonitis?) and he was out for the rest of the season.

[deleted]

That one pass he had, like holy fuck that camera angle got me so hyped in the moment. Insane that was almost his last pass ever

Drikkink

Yeah I'll still die on this hill. Bradford was an excellent QB that literally had paper skin and glass bones. As they say, the best ability is availability I guess. Also your flair makes me ill. Not as bad as the Cowboys Eagles flair I saw but ew.

jose_ole

He still made a ton of money despite hardly playing.

[deleted]

I feel like his injuries are a bit of a copout for him, even healthier I think he's still just an average QB

theskittz

[The Bradford Classic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko0J8Ft_bxg&ab_channel=Timmin)

SoCalThrowAway7

Chip Kelly traded shady McCoy for Kiko Alonso so it was a weird time

greenrider04

And traded DJax for nothing because he's an idiot and cut DJax.

sleetx

Why that offensive core of Vick, DJax, McCoy, and Maclin got blown up I'll never understand. It was so fun to watch.

ThisHatRightHere

Just Chip Kelly things

Vladimir_Putting

Probably not though. He might be the most inconsistent QB in NFL history.

420Minions

Part of that is how bad our QB records are lol. Nick was the most pure passer we’ve had on a high speed offense so he holds a lot. Well deserved for sure but it’s not the same as reaching records in most franchises

"They fall down hard. And long."

Rich Eisen I believe. Funny dude.

Radatatin

Yes

MusksStepSisterAunt

Holy shit. How have I never seen this before? That's hilarious 🤣🤣

belgiumwaffles

That slide looks painful...wonder if he got turfburn lol

PostTail

I've got the lotion to help

buffysbangs

It’s always unnerving to see a player standing next to a normal human, like the trainer at the end. He just towers over him

Domestic_AA_Battery

Funny enough, this Super Bowl will also feature Jones vs Johnson

dimmyfarm

Then they need BDN as honorary official

8w7fs89a72

good lord

ApatheticJellyfish

Philadelphia legend!

kendrickshalamar

Had a statue erected (pun intended) in his honor halfway through his career. Absolute legend.

ActivityLiving4517

This comment makes me glad I know the English language

-ShutterPunk-

STL legend first 😤

PoopshootPaulie

No he literally was not lol

-ShutterPunk-

I didn't think a "/s" was needed.

dotcaIm

It's the internet, it's always needed

DMking

Foles talked about wanting to start a ministry when he retired. That would be the most packed church in Philly

[deleted]

Look I’m not very religious but I would be there every Sunday.

brownbearks

But not after 1pm, birds are the number 1

Vladimir_Putting

"Guys, I said I wanted to start a ministry... Not a new religion."

toxicvegeta08

The thibodeaux monastery

[deleted]

Do his 7 starts with us mean nothing to him???? SMH blatant disrespect to the bears

ZestycloseResist5594

Rams legend Nick Foles

JeddHampton

He wasn't good enough to be on the Jeff Fischer Rams? That's some 7-9 bullshit.

cc20r

Big Dick Nick

Saitsu

Bears Legend!

PCGoneCrazy

You mean he doesn’t identify as a Bear? I’m heartbroken, HEARTBROKEN I TELL YOU

Apprehensive-View588

Nick Foles will ALWAYS be King of Philadelphia. We had a lot of great players over the years, but HE is the one who got it done.

BaboonHorrorshow

Average Dick Size in Philly just beefed up by a lot.

thirstyidiot

It's been so since that SB win.

One of those is real tho

shewy92

Silvester Stallone is real

Saitsu

Anyone trying to vandalize that will be instantly immolated.

DoubleSealedSoul

Yea, that playoff run was literal magic. Dude will be a Philly hero forever.

limejuiceroyale

I'm excited for this Superbowl obviously, but there was something about that run that just felt different.

elbenji

You're the title favorites here and have been dominant all season. That year you were all the plucky underdog with an injured starting qb

justdaman182

He never stopped being an Eagle in my heart!

Competitive_Bar6355

He'll do whatever he feels like. Gosh!

BostonSamurai

That’s awesome, he stepped up, I’m not even mad.

spaz1020

Hes already in town, he's just waiting for the *rest of him* to finally get there.

LemonPepper-Lou

That's Former Super Bowl MVP Big Dick Nick, put some respect on his name!

PhiladelphiaManeto

Love you guys

BCLetsRide69

BDN

John3162

That is the best way for him to go out.

TetrisTech

Jags legend Nick Foles

Cthepo

Damn, I was kind of hoping he'd retire as a legendary Chiefs backup, since he credits Andy with bringing back his enjoyment of playing football and leading to him not retiring before going back to the eagles.

MistakeMaker1234

He signs a one day contract with the Chiefs, retires, _then unretires_, Chiefs trade him to the Eagles for two firsts, then he retires an Eagle. Only fair outcome for everyone involved.

chadar05569

Ofc he would, he’s a Philly legend

Vladimir_Putting

Can you imagine if he retired as a Ram or some shit?

[deleted]

So if Philly wins on Sunday, do they take down the statue of Foles and Pederson or nah?

aflailingbaby

You always remember your first, no matter how good or better times follow.

[deleted]

I feel u. That’s how I felt when the Warriors won back in 2015. We won 3 more times after that, but they never hit the same like the 1st one. Despite the injury luck we benefited from in those finals

Insectshelf3

hell no, that’s staying up forever. it’s one of the greatest moments in philly sports history.

HellYeahTinyRick

Of course not. Right? Right??

kendrickshalamar

Why the hell would they take it down? Foles didn't slaughter a bunch of people.

Saitsu

That's not true, I'm pretty sure there's 11 Patriots Defenders who were murdered on a certain night in 2018.

Lint6

> That's not true, I'm pretty sure there's 11 Patriots Defenders who were murdered on a certain night in 2018. Also 11 Vikings two weeks earlier

thatissomeBS

Stop, they're already dead.

Brad_theImpaler

We're going to find out he owned slaves or something, aren't we?

Crash_Test_Dummy66

I think at this point we just have to assume that he's probably accidentally ripped at least one person in half with his massive schlong.

ftwin

Is that even still up? I thought that was like some bud light promotion

phillyflyer

It is still up but they moved it. It’s near a gate at the end of the lot facing CBP

[deleted]

This made my day 😭

PlumbStraightLevel

Yeah he's got a few more teams he has to fuckover

mister_newman

Good to know, now the news cycle may resume.

NoobOnTheRun

sorry we'll resume talking about Tom Brady now. Tom Brady retired 0-2 against Nick Foles

Metfan722

And I believe 2-3 against Eli Manning.

brownbearks

Lmao get in giants fans, it’s time to fuck these pats fans up

garvierloon

Why would he do that? And who did he have in kind?

sfitz0076

Duly noted.

_coggs_

this is assuming he doesn’t somehow miraculously win a super bowl in similar fashion somewhere else!
