Part of me desperately wants y'all to beat the Bills so we can avenge the "sweep". Then part of me is scared shitless of facing an AFCN team in the playoffs even if we should be heavily favored on paper.
"Yeah, this is the smallest chainsaw we have in stock."
"But it still cuts pretty good, right?"
"Oh definitely. This sucker absolutely chews through wood. It's just that I've got bigger, stronger chainsaws available."
I’m honestly surprised that Eberflus is still there. As a Colts fan, we were honestly surprised he was hired to begin with as the feelings around here were that he was on the hot seat to be fired here right as you were hiring him to begin with. Does them retaining Eberflus foreshadow their decision on Justin Fields? Keeping Eberflus but drafting a new QB at 1 seems nonsensical to me. It just seems like you’d want a coach better equipped to develop your draft pick instead of a coach that could be fired next year forcing a coaching and likely offensive scheme change in year 2 on your newly drafted QB.
> Keeping Eberflus but drafting a new QB at 1 seems nonsensical to me.
You, me, and everyone else. Unfortunately, we have a tendency of hanging onto a lame duck HC, drafting a new QB, and then firing the HC a year into the new QB's career. And also failing to learn from our mistakes.
See for example our recent history with Mitch Trubisky (John Fox to Matt Nagy) and Justin Fields (Matt Nagy to Matt Eberflus).
Hopefully they will come to their senses and start fresh. I honestly always hoped you guys would win one under Lovie. (Just not THAT one). I still remember all the excitement in 1985. (I grew up about five hours south down I-57 in Illinois). If you would have told the Bears fans around me that that 85 defense would never make it back to a second Super Bowl, they wouldn’t have believed you. Good Luck to you.
I live in Orlando and thanked the Gods (all of them) that the family already has a Disney staycation planned for the long weekend so I'm not tempted to waste my money braving I-4 traffic to watch Baker fucking Mayfield torch us for 400 yards and 5 TDs...
I'm a hockey guy first and foremost so sacrificing the Wings is just about out of the question, but I can live with the Tigers being even worse than they were in 03 if it means the Lions have a deep playoff run
From my point of view, because the Lions are your only team without a title, if worst comes to worst, you gotta consider sacrificing the Wings too.
But that’s just me talking as an Atlanta Fuckups fan.
Do exactly what we did the last two times: keep a lame duck HC, draft a QB, fire lame duck HC at season end, hire new HC for year 2 of new QB.
John Fox, draft Mitch, hire Nagy year 2
Nagy, draft Fields, hire Flus year 2
It makes sense to everyone else, it's a perfect opportunity to start fresh with a ton of picks. Of course, the Bears aren't going to do it though. It's maddening and it's not even my team.
As soon as he realized the trip to Detroit was dependent on the Bears being useful against the Packers, Carson Wentz said *”fuck that”* and willed his legs against the Niners.
"Sure, he has the worst coaching record in Bears history. Sure he's had 3 historic losses this season alone and spent last year choking away games. Sure the players have seemed bitter towards a lot of his decision making. Sure he can't beat any of the division rivals. Sure, he hasn't shown the ability to develop a QB. Sure, he had two of his coaching hires resign in disgrace
But still, there goes the best damn coach the Bears have ever had"
-Ryan Poles and Kevin Warren I guess
As long as the McCaskeys are in control, the organization will never be serious about winning. The team is literally their sole source of income. As long as there are fans still filling the stadiums and buying their merch, they are content enough to never win a championship ever again.
This is such a bullshit sentiment that I keep seeing. They literally fired Ryan Pace and Nagy as soon as the team regressed and hired someone who had been on a winning team to help them build a better roster. I won't pretend the Bears have been making GOOD moves, but it would be inaccurate to say they aren't serious about winning. Virgina McCaskey is 101 years old and you better believe she wants to see them win again.
I feel like they should wait until after wild card or divisional at least. No one really needs to start interviewing the week or two after, and that would put most teams in the offseason.
I’m just disappointed that my man, Brian Johnson, isn’t the hot HC candidate that the media claimed he would be. The man is a legit offensive genius and deserves consideration. Would love for him to get the Commanders’ job!
We did that with a player before and drafted the wrong guy. Two players in the same team and we named the wrong one at the draft. I’m having a huge brain fart on who it was.
>This has to be the result of a failed power struggle right?
That's my assumption.
I agree with you completely on the expectations thing- this was a bottom 10 roster, maybe even lower.
Any non-comedian who tries to take on a comedian in a war of words is going to get obliterated 100% of the time.
By the time we’ve heard of them, they’ve dealt with dozens or hundreds of Rodgers types in the bars and clubs they started in.
You don’t get to where Kimmel is at without being quick-witted and learning to deal with jackasses talking shit at you.
E: for that matter, I don’t like Kimmel all that much or think he’s all that funny. But you’re 100% going to lose against any professional comedian
It's even worse because half the time Rodgers seems to think of himself as a comedian. His whole thing against Kimmel seems like the poor attempt of someone terminally online to make a joke to clap back against someone they perceived slighted them first. Elon Musk does the same nonsense but even worse somehow.
The NFL just scratched the halftime show, and instead of a musical performance....were gonna get a fightclub style deathmatch between Kimmel and Aaron Rodgers. This is what the world wants to see.
I looked up "Iowa Food" And had never heard of "Ham Balls"..... So Purdy could be a HAM Ball Sub.
If we make them beef then we could call it a 'Chuck Down Sub'.
The NFL used the Kerby Joseph hit to the head on Justin Jefferson in a highlight package. Jefferson was shaken up and Joseph was injured on the play
They don't care about player safety at all
I'm fascinated to see if the Packers D can hold up against Dak and that great offense. Especially since it's at Jerryworld where the Cowboys have been nigh unbeatable* recently.
The answer is no. Controlling time of possession and getting into a shootout is our best hope. I can’t even pretend to say that we need turnovers, because we’ve been very poor at getting them this year.
If the Packer offense can keep with the long sustained drives like they have, at least Dallas won't be able to run up the score. Then maybe get lucky on a turnover or 2.
Nothing's impossible, but I'm happy either way.
The ref screwup that caused Dallas to leave an eligible receiver completely unguarded? The ref screwup that the Lions saw happen in real time and chose to do nothing to address? The ref screwup that left you two more chances to score (or even go for OT) afterwards? The ref screwup that wouldn’t even have been possible if they called tripping on the correct team?
That ref screwup? Just making sure we’re on the same page.
Edit: For context, the (now deleted) comment that I replied to stated that the Lions technically would have won if not for a ref screwup.
*Give me something for the pain and let me die.*
Fucking sucks, happened to us last season. Either your elimination gets dragged out another day, or you get a short week to prepare for a likely road game. And the Buccs actually got shafted two years in a row.
Sorry, the first game is reserved for any AFCS team playing. The second game is "cock" blocked, so you don't want that one.
1st game Sunday is for the non AFCS match up they feel no one wants.
2nd and 3rd games they are putting their premier games and the cowboys draw eyeballs.
That leaves MNF for Baker vs the eagles.
I feel like they could have gave us the early Sunday slot. Bills should have gotten an extra day considering they played the latest game the previous week anyways
Whoever wins is definitely going to get blasted the next week due to fatigue and whoever loses is going to get a full day from fans and media dedicated just to shitting on them. It sucks
I don't get why we've never had MNF games on the last week of the regular season, ostensibly because it would give those teams less rest for the playoffs, but suddenly MNF games in the playoffs themselves are fine.
Dolphins vs. Chiefs is going to be the most boring, one-sided match this season. The dolphins have no chance of winning. At least that’s the game the NFL chose to be on peacock
I'd give that to the Bills right now. Lost to the Jets, the Pats (almost twice), but beat the Dolphins, Cowboys, and we could've/should've beat the Eagles.
OH THIS IS FUCKING GREAT
NOW I GOTTA LISTEN TO A MONTH OF BULLSHIT ABOUT HOW KRAFT IS GONNA SHITCAN BELICHICK FOR VRABEL
THAT BULLSHIT WAS ALREADY AT AN 8 AND NOW ITS GONNA BE OVER 9000.
THANKS, TITANS. FUCK!
Our coach has lost control of the locker room and the whole team is rallying around a serial rapist backup QB.
So yeah...basically we need a whole new team.
Neither my coach, GM, or owner will squash rumors of our coach being on the team next year and every minute that passes makes me feel more and more certain he won't be here.
I FEEL THAT OUR DIVISIONAL ROUND OPPONENT WILL PLAY WAY BETTER THAN THEY SHOULD AND BE BETTER THAN THE OTHER REMAINING SIDE OF THE AFC BRACKET’S TEAMS FOR SOME REASON. I ALSO THINK THAT WE’LL FORGET WE HAVE HANDS IN THE PLAYOFFS LIKE IN 2019 DAMN IT!!!
EDIT: “FEL” TO FEEL!
I and many of my fellow bengals fans are really nervous the Bengals FO is gonna run it back with the Oline setup we currently have.
Our Oline coach, well we had the worst running game in the NFL (he's our Run game coordinator too) and our Olinemen have regressed the last two years. Something is clearly not working and they have absolutely invested in making them better via FA and trying in the draft. But it needs to have already been fixed. and it's frustrating to have a talent like Burrow and the bengals FO seemingly isn't trying to do everything they can to protect him.
George Paton is still on the payroll so I can guarantee you three, make that four, things: 1) we'll draft a corner instead of a QB, 2) some fucking loser will be our QB next season and a different loser will be the QB after that, 3) Payton will get bored and pissy and quit after years of futility here, and 4) I'll never find a football team I want to be a fan of instead of this neverending bullshit.
I hoped and prayed that the bullshit ending to the Colts/Browns game wouldn’t matter, but it literally ended up costing us the playoffs.
Obviously we lost 7 other games and weren’t quite playoff material, but the fact that the stuff that was out of our control ended up being the difference is infuriating.
I want to complain about not having anything to complain about. My team's slide at the end of the season was greatly overshadowed by the Eagles and Jaguars taking a dump. We got to rest most of our starters before the playoffs start, while the Dolphins 3 remaining uninjured starters have a short week now playing Saturday and traveling. It's snowed here the last 2 days, and will be cold as shit at game time which will be fun to watch. Skyy Moore and Toney both have "injuries" that will keep them off the offense, and the rest of the team is as healthy as it's been all season.
Also, wild card weekend is the best weekend of football. 6 games all on 1 at a time with the loser going home, and hopefully all of them are close besides ours.
WE COULD'VE RESTED TJ THE ENTIRE SECOND HALF AND STILL WON THE GAME. WE DIDN'T TAKE THE LEAD UNTIL THE 4TH QUARTER ANYWAYS AND HE GOT INJURED IN THE THIRD.
I WILL TAKE ALL THE DOWN VOTES OVER THIS BECAUSE HAVING HIM HEALTHY FOR A PLAYOFF GAME IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY RECORD.
The overall quality of football this year has been so dog shit that hockey has officially overtaken it as my favorite sport.
Yes obviously my own team was a huge part of that but in general this season was terrible as far as entertainment goes
We sacrificed TJ Watt’s knee to make the playoffs
You have to at least win the Wild Card or it wasn't even worth it.
While I don’t necessarily think that’s impossible, lets just say I would be pleasantly surprised
[удалено]
Oh boy. I went through so many emotions reading this.
[удалено]
Don’t worry. McD has hired multiple interns to count to 11
Part of me desperately wants y'all to beat the Bills so we can avenge the "sweep". Then part of me is scared shitless of facing an AFCN team in the playoffs even if we should be heavily favored on paper.
To be fair, I think this year every team should be scared of playing an AFCN team in the playoffs.
"Yeah, this is the smallest chainsaw we have in stock." "But it still cuts pretty good, right?" "Oh definitely. This sucker absolutely chews through wood. It's just that I've got bigger, stronger chainsaws available."
Mason just opened up the offense for yall. Dude is just slinging it cuz he has nothing to lose. Refreshing to see from Pickett.
We sacrificed TJ Watt’s knee to ~~make the playoffs~~ finish above .500 for Tomlin.
No, that was already locked up with the win over Seattle.
So that's how Tomlin does it...
Black Monday has passed and Matt Eberflus and Luke Getsy are still Bears employees.
MY TEAM COMPLETELY CHOKED THE DIVISION AND A PLAYOFF SPOT
Arguably they choked the conference… but I would have no idea what that feels like
I feel your pain
Wow, yet another year where the networks refuse to show a single Chargers playoff game. Unbelievable.
My complaint is that the Chargers will be this off seasons mvps despite only changing their head coach.
My team is the worst
Hold on there buddy, I'm pretty sure *our* team is the worst.
Are we seizing the means of suckitude and placing under collective ownership? Beauty...I'll grab the rifle and be right there.
My complaint is that my team has to play a playoff game.
I live in Orlando and thanked the Gods (all of them) that the family already has a Disney staycation planned for the long weekend so I'm not tempted to waste my money braving I-4 traffic to watch Baker fucking Mayfield torch us for 400 yards and 5 TDs...
I work at Saratoga resort, come over here and I can yell “Cry Eagles Cry” and “You suck!” To make you feel better
Your team has been great twice in the time the Broncos have sucked continuously.
Sucks to be you
I beg to differ *cries*
TAKE MY KNEE LAPORTA
Do the Pistons have anymore life force left for y’all to drain to give to LaPorta’s knee?
The Pistons? No probably not. Can we sacrifice the Tiger season before it even starts? Is that allowed?
Whatever you gotta do for that Lions Super Bowl.
But that’s just me talking as an Atlanta Fuckups fan.
what the fuck are the Bears even trying to do

This. Would be insane to continue this trend when we have a chance to reboot the QB with a new HC and offensive mind
It makes sense to everyone else, it's a perfect opportunity to start fresh with a ton of picks. Of course, the Bears aren't going to do it though. It's maddening and it's not even my team.
I might legitimately switch to becoming a fan of another team
Have you considered the Packers? There are ups and downs but I can guarantee two wins every year.
As soon as he realized the trip to Detroit was dependent on the Bears being useful against the Packers, Carson Wentz said *”fuck that”* and willed his legs against the Niners.
When your team owner is 101 years old and still in charge...
"Sure, he has the worst coaching record in Bears history. Sure he's had 3 historic losses this season alone and spent last year choking away games. Don't be silly, the draft is only 15 weeks away
[удалено]
At least you guys still have your first!
Yes 😭
Pretty sure they can't top the "oh my God!" moment when they drafted Rodger Vick in the first round.
To be fair, they've actually been pretty dang good at drafting recently. Besides Zach Wilson, obviously.
at least you'll have 34 weeks of your QB making sure he's in the news cycle saying stupid shit the whole time.
Stay away from my coordinators, you animals.
Same. Well, one of them anyway.
Can't wait to see the new QB carousel graphic that is going to be made for the Broncos next season
Are you not just sorting by height and picking still?
That was Elway's thing. Except when Allen was available
THE WAIT BETWEEN THE RAVENS LAST MEANINGFUL GAME WEEK 17 AND THE DIVISIONAL ROUND IS REMINDING ME JUST HOW LONG THE OFFSEASON IS.
Damn, imagine you have to wait all this time and then you guys end up losing right away lol. That’d be funny
Quiet you
Déjà vu
They are hyping us up so that CJ can have his underdog victory. I can see your script, motherfuckers.
The NFL is actively trying to destroy the organization that issued the S2 Test this season, how does no one see this?!
JOSH ALLEN KEEPS BEING SEXUALLY ASSAULTED DURING DOLPHINS GAMES AND NO ONE SEEMS TO REALLY CARE?!?!?!?
Lol Wilkins gives him a lil tickle on the field, and Collinsworth gives him the gargle on the broadcast.
These things are not even close to equal and it’s weird you’re writing it as such
My team is the definition of blue balls.
I'm starting to think this isn't going to be our year.
Not with that attitude. We're only like 13 crashed team planes away from going on the road for a playoff game.
Boeing has been in the news again... But seriously, I wish no harm to anyone, except maybe towards Boeing executives and investors.
Your flair isn’t faded for some reason
Peacock Sucks
All I know is pain
nfl should not allow interviews for the staff from other teams before the super bowl, come one, that is a big distraction for teams and the personal.
I feel like they should wait until after wild card or divisional at least. No one really needs to start interviewing the week or two after, and that would put most teams in the offseason.
agree
I’m just disappointed that my man, Brian Johnson, isn’t the hot HC candidate that the media claimed he would be. The man is a legit offensive genius and deserves consideration. Would love for him to get the Commanders’ job!
He sounds more like an AC/DC candidate.
Maybe someone will mix him up with Ben Johnson
We did that with a player before and drafted the wrong guy. Two players in the same team and we named the wrong one at the draft. I’m having a huge brain fart on who it was.
WE ARE COMING FOR ALL Y’ALLS COACHES
We will grant your request to interview Joe Berry.
Will he make a good butler for Josh Harris?
Maybe. I have to assume that there’s something he’s good at.
Take em
If I see 1 more dropped pass by the Chiefs in the playoffs, I will commit a felony
I hope you have a lawyer on retainer, sir. You are going to need it.
it's going to be 0 degrees, the footballs will be rocks. if we keep it under 5 drops I'll be ecstatic.
I fucking loathe Derrick Henry and Mike Vrabel.
Well boy do I have good news for you *cries*
This has to be the result of a failed power struggle right? What did Titans brass expect with the roster Robinson gave him?
>This has to be the result of a failed power struggle right? That's my assumption. I agree with you completely on the expectations thing- this was a bottom 10 roster, maybe even lower.
Big agree.
im just happy to be here dawg
Trusting a guy with 6 career catches is not an ideal way to end a season.
Kimmel v Rodgers, Rodgers hasn't taken a bigger beatdown since he ran into the 9ers in the playoffs
Which time?
Any non-comedian who tries to take on a comedian in a war of words is going to get obliterated 100% of the time. By the time we’ve heard of them, they’ve dealt with dozens or hundreds of Rodgers types in the bars and clubs they started in. You don’t get to where Kimmel is at without being quick-witted and learning to deal with jackasses talking shit at you. E: for that matter, I don’t like Kimmel all that much or think he’s all that funny. But you’re 100% going to lose against any professional comedian
"Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel."
Don't bring a ~~knife~~ *conspiracy theory* to a ~~gun~~ *battle of wits* fight.
It's even worse because half the time Rodgers seems to think of himself as a comedian. His whole thing against Kimmel seems like the poor attempt of someone terminally online to make a joke to clap back against someone they perceived slighted them first. Elon Musk does the same nonsense but even worse somehow.
Poor guy. It would have been funny if it weren’t for all this wokeness. /s
Counter example: comedian versus diplomat https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/madeleine-albright-burns-conan-obrien-743655/amp/
Brendan Schaub is a professional comedian. Allegedly.
Matt Schaub is funnier
The NFL just scratched the halftime show, and instead of a musical performance....were gonna get a fightclub style deathmatch between Kimmel and Aaron Rodgers. This is what the world wants to see.
Streaming exclusive playoff games is bullshit
There's no way that I'd ever watch that legally, not even with a free trial. I ain't supporting that crap.
Now that the offseason is here. I have yet to see a "what sandwich is your QB if your QB was a sandwich?" post.
R.I.P Dangerwich.
I looked up "Iowa Food" And had never heard of "Ham Balls"..... So Purdy could be a HAM Ball Sub. If we make them beef then we could call it a 'Chuck Down Sub'.
MUST BE NICE TO MAKE THE FUCKING PLAYOFFS.
The Dolphins gave our backup running back a concussion at the end of the first half and nobody is talking about it
On an illegal hit* with no flag* that the NFL subsequently used as promotional material*
The NFL used the Kerby Joseph hit to the head on Justin Jefferson in a highlight package. Jefferson was shaken up and Joseph was injured on the play They don't care about player safety at all
WE'RE IN THE PLAYOFFS! AND BEAT THE BEARS TO GET THERE! WHAT COULD WE POSSIBLY HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT? I GUESS JOE BERRY BUT IT'S WHATEVER RIGHT NOW.
I'm fascinated to see if the Packers D can hold up against Dak and that great offense. Especially since it's at Jerryworld where the Cowboys have been nigh unbeatable* recently.
My guess? No, probably not. But for the first time in ages, that's truly okay.
I swear to god if Rodgers lends Love his powers idk what imma do myself.
Just sit back and enjoy us being killed by San Francisco 😎

Seattle was the closest to beating them this year at home if it wasn't for Shane Waldron's chickenshit playcalling near the end of the game.
Shane Waldron deserves much of the blame yes, but in a game with zero punts, you should also blame the defense.

If you live in WI you can probably still complain about itchy, dry skin.
Nah I’m good.
slowik wanting to establish the run over and over is a complaint for me
Go look at our play action stats and see why.
Stop trying to take our personnel other teams!
have you considered hiring guys that no one else ever wants?
Still heated we got the MNF time slot.
*Give me something for the pain and let me die.* Fucking sucks, happened to us last season. Either your elimination gets dragged out another day, or you get a short week to prepare for a likely road game. And the Buccs actually got shafted two years in a row.

Sure “Any Given Sunday” and all that. Just saying they’ve looked inconsistent enough that Miami taking the win would not surprise me in the least.
I'd give that to the Bills right now. Lost to the Jets, the Pats (almost twice), but beat the Dolphins, Cowboys, and we could've/should've beat the Eagles.
taylor swift hates marine mammals confirmed

she also hates jokes at her expense too
Listen here bitch, you’re right. But you need to at least let US do the complaining
Right? Cant wait to see who our edge rushers will be this week, cause right now i dont think anyone left is healthy.
SEATTLE FOOTBALL IS PAIN
Getsy should’ve been fired out of a cannon right into the sun already
We have another coordinator that's leaving soon if you want to replicate the might of the 2022 Packers.

Lions should be #1 seed, fuck the refs
We lost to the fucking Jets
It could be worse, it's not like both your team's lost to rivals this week.
At least the Bears loss means that I get to see Patriots at Soldier Field next year
That works out then.
My team is the Titans. That's the whole complaint
Sure am glad my home team didn't make the playoffs just to get steamrolled in the national championship game. That would be depressing.
Other teams keep trying to steal my DC and GM-without-the-title. #firstworldproblems
cant wait for another year of Dennis Allen
Fire the cannons!
Sam LaPorta getting hurt was fucking bullshit and if we lose to the Rams I’ll never get over it
How bad was it?
as of yesterday, it's supposedly going to be a game day decision on Sunday. he walked off OK-ish, but yeah, his knee bent oddly
His knee bent a way it's not supposed to.
Packers o-line is already infamous for holding every play. I wonder what nonsense they pull this time
Save your complaints for after you choke.
But it’s the complaint thread? 🥺
You can have a little complaint. As a treat.
i like the bills too. it sucks that either them or the steelers have to be eliminated right off the bat.
The season is too long
We should go back to 16 games.
The overall quality of football this year has been so dog shit that hockey has officially overtaken it as my favorite sport. Yes obviously my own team was a huge part of that but in general this season was terrible as far as entertainment goes
