The thing is BPA will likely be WR but because of need they could end up shifting to those other two.
BPA almost always ends up compromised come draft time.
We will see, all I know is Edge & Corner are expensive positions to fill in free agency and we just traded Spider Burns and DJax.
If we end up signing Mike Williams and / or Michael Gallup you’ve got a good mix of players, we just need a true burner.
I'm tired of seeing that we're taking a wr at 33. The only wr worthy is Worthy..... The rest (AD Mitchell, McConkey) maybe at 39.... It's such a deep wr class that realistically the drop between 33 and 65 or whatever is minute.
I’m sorry you feel that way. I never specified it had to be at pick #33. I’d be perfectly content picking someone at 39. But I do believe we need to grab one in that area. The tier 2/3 guys aren’t going to make it to the early 3rd imo.
Mitchell, Mcconkey, and Franklin are all 10x better than Worthy imo. All Worthy has is speed and it seems like he dropped weight from his already tiny frame in order to smash the 40 at the combine. Not saying there isn't a chance Worthy could be awesome but he isn't going to be Tyreek Hill.
The only player I would be against them (or any team) taking is Keon Coleman, that dude sucks. But it would be hilarious to see them draft Kelvin Benjamin 2.0.
Yup, we need at least a couple more high quality receivers before we can say the room is in a good place. I'm pretty happy about getting Diontae but him and an aging Thielen ain't enough.
They got Robert Hunt who was the top guard available in free agency as well as Damien Lewis on the other side who was very reliable in Seattle and played under Canales already so it seems like a smart signing.
Hubbard showed more than Sanders last year but it really came down to a complete breakdown of our O line. Hopefully the free agent upgrades on the IOL will give this offense some teeth.
Hubbard was actually pretty solid last year
Behind a poorly performing line, with no recieving threats, in negative game scripts all year, he still put up 900 yards - while only starting 12 games.
Of course getting another guy would be great, but Hubbard is serviceable. Thielen/Mingo/Chark was not serviceable as a corps
Hubbard is pretty solid and I think sanders will be fine, Reich is dumb just kept trying to run him straight up the middle when he's an outside zone RB
It would be the most predictable offense out there. But if they get some good OL play it could be good.
The end of the season they were a top 5ish rushing offense. (Post week 9 when Broderick Took over i think it was like 160 ypg rushing)
With Pickens, Williams, Russ the game plan literally becomes run the ball until they bring the safeties down - then go ball to Pickens/Williams.
Rinse, Repeat.
If OL doesnt block and run game doesnt get going it wont work at all though.
Im definitely not hating on it. Its actually pretty much the exact game plan we used for our 2 best offensive games this season.
Mason game vs Bengals - Bengals got torn apart by Kenny/Friermuth over the middle the previous game (strange sentence i know) so they overcompensated middle of the field at the cost of safety help over the top of pickens.
Pickens had 200 yards and 2 tds that game. Plan went pretty okay.
Seattle Seahawks game - Mason actually looked pretty bad to start this game, but running game was up to like 180 yards while still in the second quarter - so when Seattle Finally conceded playing cover 2 with help on Pickens and played in the box to stop the run. Pickens/Diontae both feasted on their 1-1s and Mason completely recovered and had a good game.
One of the best high ball receivers in the game with maybe the prettiest deep ball in league history? Yeah for sure. With a decent running game that can be dangerous.
It's a more aggressive version of the same old Steelers strategy of Free Agency bargain hunting.
It's like if Kevin Colbert and Howie Roseman had a GM baby.
We still have the draft although I would like another tackle in the draft. For this year we are gonna be a run first team so having o line depth is crucial especially with Smiths injury history and our shitty field (Woody and Mara aren't serious about winning and the field is exhibit A) . But for future years to have three out of five lineman set for the next QB that comes in will be awesome
Feel like Troy Faunanu would be nice for Jets at 10. Future probably at LT but can kick inside to start. Tyron Smith won't play 17 games so he can bump out.
How peculiar, because your mother was a big Mike Williams fan. She told me that while I was having sexual intercourse with her in my autographed Mike Williams jersey
Three paths for the coming off injury reclamation project aka I need a rebound season in order to get one final multi-year payday in my career.
Boom or Bust Jets; best case scenario you catch 10 touchdowns from a Hall of Fame QB. Worst case scenario you’re catching passes from the 2024 version of Tim Boyle and/or MetLife eats what’s left of your knee
They’ll pay me the most Panthers; best case scenario you eat a billion targets from a rebounding Bryce Young and parlaying it into an extension. Worst case scenario you’ve hitched your wagon to an Oompa Loompa and a rookie HC
I’m here for Mike Tomlin Steelers; best case scenario you’re next in line of nasty Steelers receivers and your game meshes perfectly with Russ. Worst case scenario you’re streaking wide open down the sideline while Justin Fields holds the ball for 40 minutes.
But for real Pittsburgh is a nice fit but ultimately Carolina feels like the place that will give him the most guaranteed money to come.
It's really strange seeing people want him. Been watching him since he was drafted 7th overall and has only put up 2, 1k yard seasons and has had serious injuries almost every year. Great deep threat 50/50 guy but is just made of glass and I feel like the turf at the jets stadium would be terrible for him.
If he plays for cheap then sure but I wouldn't pay him 20 million or whatever the chargers were.
Besides the torn acl he hasn’t had any real serious injuries. Before the acl tear he played in 88 of a possible 101 games,es for the chargers. He gets banged up at times but usually toughs it out.
I mean anyone who’s watched Chargers games knows that those games played stats lie. It seems like for every insane 100 yard Moss-like game he has, he has 2 where he’s a total ghost
One could say his back injury is pretty significant considering it was an issue coming out of college and is still probably the primary reason he has missed games prior to that acl
I guess? I don’t know. I think he missed like 5 or 6 in his rookie season and then hurt his back differently in the 2022 finale. Again, Williams gets banged up. It’s the nature of his style of play. Pretty much every completion he gets he’s hitting the ground hard and./ or getting tackled hard. It’s very rare he catches a ballin space and runs 10-15 yards and steps out of bounds. But he hasn’t had any huge injuries aside from last year.
The Jets’ WR corps need a serious talent infusion. They have Garrett Wilson, a mediocre TE in Conklin… and that’s it. Lazard isn’t an NFL-caliber player, and Gipson is a special teams player at best.
They need a WR2 and a WR3 if they’re actually in “win now” mode.
If they want to draft an OL option at 10, then they’re still going to have to find two WRs who can start right away via trades or free agency. Mike Williams is one of the best options in a mostly depleted WR market.
The project WRs in the third round should not be the WR2 on a “win now” team, nor should a player like Corey Davis who didn’t play a snap last season.
you clearly haven’t been watching him much, if you’re only paying attention to his yards. he also hasn’t missed many games outside of last season, he’s a huge asset to any team who lands him - so it’s really not strange to see people want him.
I can't totally fault the Pats for not locking down a WR1 in a terrible WR market when being a very undesirable landing spot, but unless he just turned down an invite to visit the Pats, I'd be frustrated if we weren't at least kicking the tires.
Mike Williams is going to be the new Allen Robinson, I really think whoever gets him will be severely dissapointed. If the Jets get him though they might be the most injury prone team of all time while playing 8 or 9 games at Metlife.
Word. "I was just thinking, everyone...what we need is a perennially really tempting talent who gives us half a good year and ultimately disappoints. Suggestions?"
I really want another big fast Wr opposite Pittman. I know he has an injury history but I really want AR5 to have whatever he needs this season to shine. Im waiting for at least one bigger FA signing who isn't a resign.
Panthers WR room would be solid if they can get Williams
Plus we would hopefully grab a rookie WR in the early 2nd.
I am a bit worried if we sign Mike Williams we won't draft a WR with either of the seconds.
We need help at Edge and Corner too. Gotta go BPA

Yeah this is a cold take dude
Looking more and more like we will take a wr in the second
Mitchell, Mcconkey, and Franklin are all 10x better than Worthy imo. All Worthy has is speed and it seems like he dropped weight from his already tiny frame in order to smash the 40 at the combine. Not saying there isn't a chance Worthy could be awesome but he isn't going to be Tyreek Hill. The only player I would be against them (or any team) taking is Keon Coleman, that dude sucks. But it would be hilarious to see them draft Kelvin Benjamin 2.0.
I hope he can stay healthy. He and Johnson would be huge for Bryce's development.
Feels like I heard the same thing last year. It’s obviously better but they really need to draft one with one of their early seconds.
Cuz you did. We signed Theilen and Chark then drafted mingo in the 2nd round lol. So I am keeping my expectations low till I see them on the field
To be fair, Johnson, Mike Williams, Theilen, is much better than Theilen, Chark, Mingo.
Yup, we need at least a couple more high quality receivers before we can say the room is in a good place. I'm pretty happy about getting Diontae but him and an aging Thielen ain't enough.
Not sure a Clemson player on the Panthers would work out.
Two WR2s?
Better than a WR3 and a bunch of WR4-5’s
I agree. “Solid” might be a bit of a stretch.
I’d say it would be in the 20-25 range of WR rooms if they all stay healthy, if we draft a WR in the second it would be solid
Would be sick if AD fell that far. Think the combine may have ruined that.
Williams, when healthy, is better than a decent amount of team's number 1 WRs.
[удалено]
…Diontae Johnson?
[удалено]
Your name is literally CouldBWorseBud and you're shitting all over a CouldBWorse WR core
It would be solid for 2-3 weeks
Have the Panthers improved their O-line? I haven't followed their moves except when it benefitted my team (thanks for Brian Burns!)
They got Robert Hunt who was the top guard available in free agency as well as Damien Lewis on the other side who was very reliable in Seattle and played under Canales already so it seems like a smart signing.
For the first week before MW snaps his leg
is WR really the main priority for that offense? i feel like not having sanders and hubbard as your 1/2 should be the focus...
Hubbard showed more than Sanders last year but it really came down to a complete breakdown of our O line. Hopefully the free agent upgrades on the IOL will give this offense some teeth.
Hubbard was actually pretty solid last year Behind a poorly performing line, with no recieving threats, in negative game scripts all year, he still put up 900 yards - while only starting 12 games. Of course getting another guy would be great, but Hubbard is serviceable. Thielen/Mingo/Chark was not serviceable as a corps
yea thats fair then
The RB position should never ever be any teams main priority. Bur Hubbard wasn’t bad, anyway
Hubbard is pretty solid and I think sanders will be fine, Reich is dumb just kept trying to run him straight up the middle when he's an outside zone RB
What are the Steelers cooking?? I don’t like this shit
Lowkey Williams' skillset feels like it'd combo great with Russ.
It would be the most predictable offense out there. But if they get some good OL play it could be good. The end of the season they were a top 5ish rushing offense. predictable isnt always bad if the execution and talent is there to back it up
Im definitely not hating on it. Its actually pretty much the exact game plan we used for our 2 best offensive games this season. Offseason 2: The Wrath of Khan
Really excited for 3 Days at the Khandor next season.
It's a more aggressive version of the same old Steelers strategy of Free Agency bargain hunting. It's like if Kevin Colbert and Howie Roseman had a GM baby.
I mean Khan was Colberts vice and Weidl was Rosemans vice. So this is actually pretty accurate.
Omar comin yo
Steelers country, let's ride
That was cool.
I mean we're just filling a need, I'm sure you can't name a WR on our roster other than George Pickens
Khan is goddamned out of control.
This man sells accessories in cars, where does he get all this money.
Can’t let him leave tomorrow without a contract. We don’t have a #2 right now.
We too would like to get our hands on one of those juicy WR2s.
Mike Williams would go crazy with Aaron Rodgers until he gets hurt.
Williams or Rodgers?
Yes
Exactly the answer I wanted. 😂
I'd be worried about him playing on Metlife's field though. He already struggled to stay healthy
What do ya mean? You got the Lazard King!
We still have the draft although I would like another tackle in the draft. For this year we are gonna be a run first team so having o line depth is crucial especially with Smiths injury history and our shitty field (Woody and Mara aren't serious about winning and the field is exhibit A) . Pls Douglas get it done

Huh? He’s the perfect compliment to GW lol.

How peculiar, because your mother was a big Mike Williams fan. She told me that while I was having sexual intercourse with her in my autographed Mike Williams jersey
He’s a good enough number 2. I don’t think you guys have enough options to be picky, you just need to capitalize on the year.
He’s def one of the better 2s, it’s just about being healthy, unless that’s what you’re inferring which yeah, not great there
Bc he gets injured? Otherwise he’s a great number 2
He’s a good #2. It’s just a matter of health.
He's a great number 2 if healthy. That's the risk with him.
Who do you prefer? Boyd?? Lazard???

Another bonus point for the Panthers is that it's the hometown team. He grew up in South Carolina and went to Clemson
OMAR COMIN!
The fuck did they put in the Primanti’s this offseason
Probably fries.
They started cooking the fries in Iron City.
Don't let him leave on Monday...
It's really strange seeing people want him. Been watching him since he was drafted 7th overall and has only put up 2, 1k yard seasons and has had serious injuries almost every year. MetLife turf is being changed before the season They’re replacing the turf with middle-school quality blacktop concrete
They're bringing back the turf from the old Vet!?!??
Improvement.
Just replace it with mud. Have your guys practice in it, and you'll have an advantage every time!
Until they play the Giants...
Besides the torn acl he hasn’t had any real serious injuries. Before the acl tear he played in 88 of a possible 101 games,es for the chargers. He gets banged up at times but usually toughs it out.
fr, the fact that they’re confused as to why people want him tells me he’s a casual
I mean anyone who’s watched Chargers games knows that those games played stats lie. It seems like for every insane 100 yard Moss-like game he has, he has 2 where he’s a total ghost
He gets banged up and plays like shit instead of just missing games.
One could say his back injury is pretty significant considering it was an issue coming out of college and is still probably the primary reason he has missed games prior to that acl

I can't totally fault the Pats for not locking down a WR1 in a terrible WR market when being a very undesirable landing spot, but unless he just turned down an invite to visit the Pats, I'd be frustrated if we weren't at least kicking the tires.
Russ needs some targets other than Pickens
People sleeping on Calvin Austin
I want CA3 to be good so badly, but he's just so small and he hasn't shown much aside from straight-line speed yet. Maybe 2024 is his year, though.
And Patty
Madden legend
true, hes literally just baby deebo with nobody to throw to him
And without the size to be amazing at breaking tackles like Deebo is lol
hes faster though, he had a 4.32 40 and deebo had almost a 4.5
Please come back Mike, it wasn't you it was us
Baby come back!
PLEASE
Pickens, Williams, & Van would go pretty hard ngl
I’m sure they’d draft someone too
Come to papa
Imagine voluntarily signing with the Panthers
Yo
I feel like a team will be willing to overpay him but I’d like to have him back
Mike Williams is going to be the new Allen Robinson, I really think whoever gets him will be severely dissapointed. If the Jets get him though they might be the most injury prone team of all time while playing 8 or 9 games at Metlife.
Word. "I was just thinking, everyone...what we need is a perennially really tempting talent who gives us half a good year and ultimately disappoints. Suggestions?"
Steelers are killing it this offseason
He would be a great fit with Russ
I guess Chiefs can’t talk to him since Sneed hasn’t been traded. No money. Or they are done with FA WR’s and hoping for a good draft. I dunno.
PrettyRickey213 is hitting hard Edit: *Was hitting hard. Guess his account got blocked again.
Sic em Omar
Falcons not going for him?? :/
He absolutely needs to go to the Jets
I really want another big fast Wr opposite Pittman. I know he has an injury history but I really want AR5 to have whatever he needs this season to shine. Im waiting for at least one bigger FA signing who isn't a resign.
Is this what other teams feel every offseason?? Being LINKED to free agents?? Omar Kahn for life.
J.E.T.S jets jets jets
We could use a #2 that we will call a #1. We only have 3/4s now
The AFCN had 3 playoff teams this past season with BACKUP qbs This division ain't for the weak
Damn, dude is one of my favs and i was hopin just maybe.
This is fine 🥲.
