Chargers if you guys can not sign him and let us continue to exclusively sign WRs that are 29+ that would be wonderful. We have an infinity gauntlet to fill
Rumour i have heard is he wants no less than 9 APY.
Or atleast did when the Steelers pursued him. I dont think they are anymore unless they believe Boyd can play outside (which I think he did as a rookie?) because they drafted Roman Wilson that projects more to the slot.
Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I really think that Mooney could bounce back now that he's in a different situation. He was still getting open a lot last season, but he seemed to have negative chemistry with Fields.
Honestly I think the chargers would be stupid for letting him out of the busking (building). I think he’s underrated because he’s behind Higgins and Chase. Dude showed for a couple years before that he can dominate. Ravens would know and Harbaughs apparently rate players that fucked them heavily (I.e. Henry)
He's not...it's a joke to think he can be he's not that good anymore. If he's the number 1 guy on a team that team is going to be what the panthers were last year
Chargers already have their slot guy in Ladd McConkey who they just drafted. Not sure where Boyd would fit in the Chargers depth pool given they also have Joshua Palmer who is honestly not bad (if he stays healthy). He would edge out Johnston for sure but I am not sure Harbaugh would want to invest what Boyd is going to command, they are still tight on cap space. And Boyd is not really fit to be a X receiver
Johnston dropping that game winner against the Packers, which would have kept them out of the playoffs, nightmare inducing
Bowers played a ton out of slot at UGA, McConkey is a better fit for slot than outside in the NFL
There is also nothing wrong with slot receivers, they get a dirty rap for no reason. Good slot receivers can be just as impactful as good X receivers. The best (or 1.a 1b with JJ) WR in the NFL is a Z receiver (tyreek hill), having a alpha X receiver is always helpful but it isnt a necessity
>Chargers already have their slot guy in Ladd McConkey who they just drafted.
He is not a slot guy. He didn't play much there in college and he runs a 4.39.
Just because he's white doesn't mean he's a slot.
Him being white has absolutely nothing to do with him being a slot guy, he is 6'0 185 pounds. It would be a huge outlier for him to play outside, the only guy I can think of who plays outside who is in that weight class is Devonta Smith
McConkey didnt play in the slot much in college because Bowers took over half his snaps at slot
Watch McConkeys games in college against NFL caliber CBs in man coverage (i.e. Alabama game), he is going to struggle against NFL press coverage. Putting him in the slot negates one of his biggest weaknesses
Dell is an exception, and with Diggs on the roster he is likely moving inside now. Exceptions are not great for projecting players. Dell has similar hand size/arm length as McConkey (both are bottom 10th percentile for WRs), and really the only WRs to have any success with hands that small in recent years are TY Hilton and to a lesser degree Jamison Crowder. Having a smaller catch radius is another ding to chances of being productive on the outside
I’d say it’s a tossup between him and Palmer. But I have high hopes for Rice and Cornelius and think at least one can grow into a WR2 role. We currently have 7 WRs on the roster. Don’t think we need Boyd.
Maybe 5 years ago when he was a WR1 with the final Dalton years. He's not an X receiver but Greta in the slot but has shown some steady decline unfortunately (but still good)
Dude just can't get consistent separation anymore. If he never dropped a pass, or took a play off, teams might still take a serious look.
But for what he wants, most teams would probably be better giving that spot to an undrafted guy.
Bruh.
Keenan Allen is just short of being in the Hall of Fame discussion for his career. Tyler Boyd has never been a WR2.
I hope we pick up Boyd, he's a good player, but Keenan Allen is one of the top 10 WRs of the last decade and is in the top-50 of receiving yard leaders all time.
The surest hands except for that one time
Which one, the superbowl or the Texans game last year?
Is this the wide open 18yard pass against the Chiefs?
The drop against Houston that cost them the game
I can't seem to recall that game. Obviously I remember Chiefs games way more than other games lol

I’ll be honest, I think this is the first time I saw this play. He looked like prime MVS there Thanks tho!
Well yeah but also it wasn't a big game for the Bengals, just the Texans because every win counted for the Texans last year
And the playoffs…
The fact there are many instances this could be referring to suggests he doesn’t have the surest of hands
It’s wild because he had a super low drop rate when looking at his career numbers…. He just had some SUPER unclutch ones :/
I said this about Melvin Gordon about halfway into his career, except with fumbles. Then it only got worse.
Dude played himself out of a contract to earn more money, then take less money. Gotta admit thats talent bby
At band camp?
I did things I can't repeat here in band camp.
Yall win the Super Bowl if he makes that catch. Still pissed off about it honestly.
Chargers if you guys can not sign him and let us continue to exclusively sign WRs that are 29+ that would be wonderful. We have an infinity gauntlet to fill
We've signed enough to fill at least two infinity gauntlets by now. Lets start a third
First we took Alt and now we will take Boyd
I have to wonder what money he's demanding because he should have signed by now
Rumour i have heard is he wants no less than 9 APY. Or atleast did when the Steelers pursued him. I dont think they are anymore unless they believe Boyd can play outside (which I think he did as a rookie?) because they drafted Roman Wilson that projects more to the slot.

Mooney is also a lot younger than Boyd tbf
Boyd is only like 28, but hes got a lot of NFL miles on his legs
Just looked it up. 29. I would’ve guessed 31 at least.
Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I really think that Mooney could bounce back now that he's in a different situation. He was still getting open a lot last season, but he seemed to have negative chemistry with Fields.
Agreed. The upside is there. And for some reason Jordan Addison thinks he's the #5 best receiver in the NFL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s probably changed now that the draft is over and some teams didn’t get the WR(s) they wanted.
Henry)
Once you enter the busking, their is no exiting
Whoops, I’m watching survivor so my eyes are halved lol
Now that you edited your original comment, no one will know the glory of the busking Enjoy survivor!
I was hoping it would live on through you! I’ll change it back
THAT'S A MISTAKE
HE'S GOTTA GO
Which season? Watching Philippines rn
I mean he’s a good player but I’d hardly say he’s ever shown he can “dominate”. Hes a solid-to-really good WR2.
God damn, that's some heavy fucking in the busking
Tyler is one Busky Boi
Dominate is a strong word
He’s good and I agree but he’s more of a slot and I don’t think Roman is going to have a slot wr on the field very often.
Might be able to show he’s a WR1 talent in LA?
At 29, doubt it. He's a slot receiver through and through and has always been a good, complimentary piece.
You say slot receiver as if that can’t be a No.1 option
Like Keenan Allen?
Devante Adams is best as a slot lol
Keenan Allen as well.
He's not...it's a joke to think he can be he's not that good anymore. If he's the number 1 guy on a team that team is going to be what the panthers were last year
I don’t think he should be a number one, but Tyler Boyd on Carolina last year would have been their number one reciever by a long shot.
Well the chargers current number 1 is Josh Palmer so..
A #1 slot receiver isn’t available this time of year
Chargers already have their slot guy in Ladd McConkey who they just drafted. And Boyd is not really fit to be a X receiver Johnston dropping that game winner against the Packers, which would have kept them out of the playoffs, nightmare inducing
Ladd played most of his time outside, just gets the slot label because of his skin complexion
Bowers played a ton out of slot at UGA, McConkey is a better fit for slot than outside in the NFL There is also nothing wrong with slot receivers, they get a dirty rap for no reason. Good slot receivers can be just as impactful as good X receivers. The best (or 1.a 1b with JJ) WR in the NFL is a Z receiver (tyreek hill), having a alpha X receiver is always helpful but it isnt a necessity
Ladd isn’t necessarily a slot, he can play the Z.
>Chargers already have their slot guy in Ladd McConkey who they just drafted. He is not a slot guy. He didn't play much there in college and he runs a 4.39. Just because he's white doesn't mean he's a slot.

Tank Dell is 5'8 165 pounds and played over 75% of snaps out wide last year. Didn't see anyone calling for him to be a slot.
Watch McConkeys games in college against NFL caliber CBs in man coverage (i.e. Alabama game), he is going to struggle against NFL press coverage. Putting him in the slot negates one of his biggest weaknesses Dell is an exception, and with Diggs on the roster he is likely moving inside now. Exceptions are not great for projecting players. Boyd is #2 at worst. Palmer is not better and the rest of our receivers suck
I’d say it’s a tossup between him and Palmer. But I have high hopes for Rice and Cornelius and think at least one can grow into a WR2 role. We currently have 7 WRs on the roster. Don’t think we need Boyd.
I love Tyler Boyd with my whole heart but when he was our #1 receiver… we went 2-14
Maybe 5 years ago when he was a WR1 with the final Dalton years. He's not an X receiver but Greta in the slot but has shown some steady decline unfortunately (but still good)
Anywhere but the Steelers
Or KC
Titans for sure signing him.
Brian Callahan knows him very well so I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to the Titans
Honestly, I hope that’s where he lands. I’m looking forward to seeing what Callahan can do in Tennessee.
no
Yes.
It's like everyone conspired NOT to give the Bengals comp pick.
carolina should be paying whatever he wants
His skills heavily overlap with the players they already have on the team.
Or the Pats
Vikings have 10 milly to throw around. I want either him, or a guard.
No, no, you sit this one out. You don’t need anymore help at the receiving core
Well, some of our fans certainly think we do.
That's wild. Addison is a dog and then there's that other guy
It's mostly that some people really want a true third receiver.
Greed
They shouldn't? They have Diontae, Thielen who can run slot routes well already and drafted Legette
...Free agent 👀 ...Los Angeles 😯 ...Chargers ☹️
Chargers make the most sense to me. They need a solid veteran presence and can't rock with McConkey as WR1. Also, they have the cap space.
Just sign with my Vikings already, dammit
Slow, aging, anti-clutch WR. He will excel in the Greg Roman offense.
Dude just can't get consistent separation anymore. If he never dropped a pass, or took a play off, teams might still take a serious look. But for what he wants, most teams would probably be better giving that spot to an undrafted guy.
Steelers when?
well he's cooked
Traded Keenan and getting an upgrade from free agency good move
Tyler Boyd is not an upgrade over Keenan Allen
Tyler Boyd is a nice player but he’s not even in the same zip code as Keenan.
Well of course he's not in the same zip code. Boyd was in LA while Keenan is in Chicago /s
I would like to add Boyd, but no
wtf are you on?
Do you watch football?
Keenan Allen is a 6x pro bowler. A fringe all-pro player. Tyler Boyd is just a slightly better MVS.
Also you can't even be like "oh but Boyd played the slot" when the slot is Keenan's specialty.
I love this comparison
