Regardless of what outside media chatter says, I very much doubt that whiffing on Trey Lance would’ve cost John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan their jobs. The 2021 QB class was historically abysmal, and anyone we could’ve taken in that class outside of Trevor Lawrence would’ve resulted in disaster.

If Jeudy is your bust, then you are doing ok. I would imagine every team has a worst bust in the last ten years. Most teams end up with at least one guy that doesn't make it past his first contract.

Since you didn't name a steal I think either Josh Sweat or Mailata are our biggest steals. Everyone probably knows about Mailata at this point but I don't hear too many people talking about Sweat. Sweat was a 4th round pick back in 2018 and didnt make his first start until his 3rd year, he became the fulltime starter his 4th year and made his first Pro Bowl. He only had 10 sacks combined his first 3 seasons but he got 25 sacks combined the last 3 seasons.
Titans
Steal: Derrick Henry. He was them third pick of the second round. That is, he was the third player the Titans picked in the second round.
Bust: basically 2020-2022. And 2015.
Bust: Tyrone Calico and Treylon Burks and Justin Hunter and a half dozen other first and second round receivers are grateful that Isaiah Wilson keeps them all far away from bustedest bust.
There isn't one worse that Isaiah Wilson in the last 10 years. There just isn't.
And that's including such gems as Treylon Burks, Malik Willis, Caleb Farley.
Longer term, I think we can include guys like Chance Warmack, Jake Locker, Bishop Sankey, Chris Henry, Ben Troupe, Andre Woolfolk, Tyrone Calico. An although he is forever associated with two of the most iconic franchise moments, I will never get over Kevin Dyson being drafted ahead of Randy Moss
There's also several guys that were massive busts with us who went on to have decent careers elsewhere such as Pacman, Kenny Britt and Jared Cook.
Bust: N'keal Harry makes me so fucking sad dude
Steal: Obviously very early but I'm a big fan of Pop Douglas, as is the rest of the fanbase, duh. Idk if he's gonna end up being anything spectacular but you watch him play and dude just moves different. I love this lil fella

- Bust: Kevin White. Dude just couldn't stay healthy, was drafted in the top-10, and just never showed anything when he did play. For a guy who was a project when he was drafted, he couldn't afford to miss *any* time, so when he missed his first two seasons it was inevitable that he'd be a bust. Honorable mentions are dudes like Adam Shaheen and Ego Ferguson.
- Steal: Charles Leno Jr. was a 7th round pick in 2014 who was an NFL ironman and earned three contracts in the NFL before retiring. Made a Pro-Bowl and stuck around for a decade at one of the most important positions in the sports. Eddie Jackson and
Bust is very obviously Zach Wilson.
For Steal, I would go with Michael Carter II (not the running back). As a solid starting slot corner from day one, I don't think you can ask for more . from a 5th rounder.
I completely get the logic, but that ignores the very high likelihood that we would've ruined Allen and Lamar. Darnold's coaches were Todd Bowles with an OC that had been out of football for years, then Adam fucking Gase. His best receiver with us was.....take your pick of Robbie Chosen and Jamison Crowder. The offensive line was sub-par his whole tenure. No way Lamar has an MVP season in 2019, or Josh Allen his 2020 breakout, with the infrastructure the Jets had.
While none of the other first round QBs after Wilson worked out, the top half of the 2021 Draft is otherwise pretty impressive. Ignoring Lance at 3, Fields at 11, and Mac at 15, the picks between 4-14: Pitts, Ja'Marr, Waddle, Penei Sewell, Jaycee Horn, Pat Surtain, Devonta Smith, Parsons, Slater, AVT (at least we got him!). Hindsight is obviously 20/20, but even at the time, there were a lot of folks who wanted us to pass on a QB to build up some team infrastructure with this insane talent....which clearly would've been better than ZW.

Wilson is simply one of the biggest busts in the league's history, barring some unfathomable turnaround in Denver. Which would still be of no benefit to the Jets. Forget being a starter; I don't think he's QB2 material. Darnold is at least a really good backup QB who could be a decent bridge-year QB, and we got some solid draft assets for him.
MCII is arguably the best slot CB in the league, so snagging him in the 5th was great value. Though shoutout to Bryce Huff as an UDFA, who we just let walk. And had he stayed healthy and played a full career, I could envision Quincy Enunwa being the "steal" pick as a stud WR in the 6th round. But alas :(
Biggest bust is prooobably LJ Collier? You can make an argument for Malik McDowell, especially because of how it all shook out, but LJ was higher draft capital. At least Ifedi turned into a decent long term role player.
Biggest steal, since we're cutting off right after the Legion of Boom... still almost certainly some mid round defensive back. Maybe Tariq? You could also argue DK depending on how much him falling to the 2nd round is a "steal."
I loved Carson a lot, though the problem- as with every Seahawks RB since Lynch - is that he just couldn't stay healthy.
He was electric on the field, though, especially for a 7th rounder.
Id say McDowell for sure. Not only did we trade down with TJ Watt on the board, it forced us to trade another second-rounder (along with Jermaine Kearse) for less than one season of a very meh Sheldon Richardson.
Packers Bust: Kevin King. Decent enough player, not terrible, but trading back when TJ Watt was there is and was insane.
Packers Steal: Zach Tom. Word got out this offseason that our front office views him as a Pro Bowl tackle, All Pro guard, or Hall of Fame center.

JJ is the best receiver in football but Diggs feels like the bigger steal. Dude was a 5th round pick who turned into a top 10 receiver. Had one of the biggest plays in Vikings history and was the catalyst for drafting JJ in the first place.
And the worst about this was that year that we could have drafted some safety named Kyle Hamilton. You know All pro Kyle Hamilton considered a can’t miss prospect and is now one of the top safeties in the league

The Raiders drafted Ruggs and Damon Arnette in 2020. At least 2019 got them Jacobs.

Tyrone Calico got really unlucky and was caught in the crossfire of Roy Williams horse collar tackles, and it ended his career

It always feels like Milano is somewhere near the ball when we a big defensive play happens. Sometimes it shows up on his stat sheet and sometimes it doesn’t, but it’s crazy how often he is involved.

Bust is very obviously Zach Wilson. For Steal, I would go with Michael Carter II (not the running back). As a solid starting slot corner from day one, I don't think you can ask for more . from a 5th rounder.

I completely get the logic, but that ignores the very high likelihood that we would've ruined Allen and Lamar. Darnold's coaches were Todd Bowles with an OC that had been out of football for years, then Adam fucking Gase. His best receiver with us was.....take your pick of Robbie Chosen and Jamison Crowder. The offensive line was sub-par his whole tenure. No way Lamar has an MVP season in 2019, or Josh Allen his 2020 breakout, with the infrastructure the Jets had. While none of the other first round QBs after Wilson worked out, the top half of the 2021 Draft is otherwise pretty impressive. Ignoring Lance at 3, Fields at 11, and Mac at 15, the picks between 4-14: Pitts, Ja'Marr, Waddle, Penei Sewell, Jaycee Horn, Pat Surtain, Devonta Smith, Parsons, Slater, AVT (at least we got him!). Hindsight is obviously 20/20, but even at the time, there were a lot of folks who wanted us to pass on a QB to build up some team infrastructure with this insane talent....which clearly would've been better than ZW.
Fellow Jets fan rubber-stamping this. Wilson is simply one of the biggest busts in the league's history, barring some unfathomable turnaround in Denver. Which would still be of no benefit to the Jets. Forget being a starter; I don't think he's QB2 material. Darnold is at least a really good backup QB who could be a decent bridge-year QB, and we got some solid draft assets for him. MCII is arguably the best slot CB in the league, so snagging him in the 5th was great value. Though shoutout to Bryce Huff as an UDFA, who we just let walk. And had he stayed healthy and played a full career, I could envision Quincy Enunwa being the "steal" pick as a stud WR in the 6th round. But alas :(
Biggest bust is prooobably LJ Collier? You can make an argument for Malik McDowell, especially because of how it all shook out, but LJ was higher draft capital. At least Ifedi turned into a decent long term role player. Biggest steal, since we're cutting off right after the Legion of Boom... still almost certainly some mid round defensive back. Maybe Tariq? You could also argue DK depending on how much him falling to the 2nd round is a "steal."
Chris Carson was a steal for sure
I loved Carson a lot, though the problem- as with every Seahawks RB since Lynch - is that he just couldn't stay healthy. He was electric on the field, though, especially for a 7th rounder.
Id say McDowell for sure. Not only did we trade down with TJ Watt on the board, it forced us to trade another second-rounder (along with Jermaine Kearse) for less than one season of a very meh Sheldon Richardson.
Packers Bust: Kevin King. Decent enough player, not terrible, but trading back when TJ Watt was there is and was insane. Packers Steal: Zach Tom. Word got out this offseason that our front office views him as a Pro Bowl tackle, All Pro guard, or Hall of Fame center.
Agreed on both, and some others worth considering too: Bust: Damarius Randall (R1 2015), Josh Jones (R2 2017), Jason Spriggs (R2 2016), and Josh Jackson (R2 2018). Steal: Corey Linsley (R5 2014), Aaron Jones (R5 2017). Maybe Rasheed Walker (R7 2022) and Dontayvion Wicks (R5 2023).
