Bring back CCM

maddogg312

I have a an authentic 1998 Stanley Cup Finals Nike Yzerman and an authentic 2000 Yzerman CCM (still has the tag on it). I absolutely love the quality of those. I definitely agree with your comment. *Edited because I used absolutely twice in two sentences, which is absolutely ridiculous.*

BingoBangoCo

This! Yeah CCM would be sick. Nike would also be a cool choice, or even someone like Under Armour would make a nice quality jersey imo

Broken12Bat

They were lucky they lasted until the end of the evening without falling apart!

frostyjack06

I wouldn’t be shocked if we can’t get through games without jerseys being torn off mid period.

BingoBangoCo

“Crosby now on the breakaway… and his nameplate falls off!”

frostyjack06

“And the jersey malfunctions continue! That’s the third name plate that has fallen off, four times it’s said ‘Cosby’, and twice his number has been 8L instead of 87.”

coastline

I specifically went out and got another authentic adidas one while I still could (Hyman). Should tie me over until another company gets the jersey contract in however many years.

FartfaceMacGee

10 years. The Fanatics contract is 10 years

userid004

Fanatics could go the biosteel route and fail as a company!

v13ragnarok7

Wtf! Really?

malhans

God I wish I had the money to do that right now :(

FartfaceMacGee

Lots of people don’t. Why is that funny to you? You seem nice. Dickhead

Sk0ly

I wanted to do that but all the skate jerseys sold out. Our fanbase is weird because we all secretly want the skate back but won't admit it so those jerseys in adidas trim have been sold out for a while now.

YeeHaw_Mane

You could’ve saved a lot of money and just got a picture of a cry baby printed on a t-shirt instead of a McDavid jersey. It’s practically the same thing.

gregthestrange

anal anguish over a hockey player, lmao

HellInOurHearts

That's the Conn Smythe crybaby, you whiner.

FartfaceMacGee

He wiped the floor with your team in the WCF. Lol

HellInOurHearts

Why are there so many Fanatics fanboys showing up in every comment thread where someone mentions their terrible track record with incorrect nameplates, mismatched numbers, off center placements, overall trash quality, and countless other fuck-ups?

[deleted]

Because the only thing changing is the tag. Stop acting like a whole ho.

ObtuseGroundhog

But, Fanatics makes trash. It is their thing. A $40 Fanatics tshirt falls apart after three washes, even if you don't pop it in the dryer. Fanatics hats have terrible stitching and the shape feels off. Fan jerseys from the past few years are a joke, NBA are even worse. And then we have baseball - where you fan boys keep blaming Nike. Yes Nike told Fanatics to make cheap garbage, but Fanatics did it. Then Michael Rubin apologized, then was like, they made me do it. My poor little 30 billion dollar company had no choice but to make sure pants and shirts don't match.

drop-cord

You do realize the manufacturing for the jerseys remains in Canada with the same factory and same employees and same materials as it has for the last 30 years, right?

ObtuseGroundhog

For now. Again, why does anyone give Fanatics the benefit of the doubt at this point? Their entire business is based off of making products at a reduced cost. Why are so many of you so content to pay more for less? I'm having trouble understanding. Half of reddit still goes to Chipotle and McDonalds and acts surprised when they've paid $14-20 for garbage. This is the same thing, and a lot of you can't figure out why people are upset.

drop-cord

Do you have any reason to believe that the NHL is looking to move the manufacturing of their on-ice and authentic jerseys elsewhere? Source? No? Then stop whining.

ObtuseGroundhog

Okay, be happy with your garbage, I'll keep complaining. I can't wait for Indonesian produced jerseys with ads like the Finnish League, really growing the game here. And feel free to show me one product Fanatics has made better. Show me.

drop-cord

I'll be happy with the same "garbage" that had an Adidas logo last year It's literally exactly the same you absolute clown

ObtuseGroundhog

For now, it is the same. Show me a product Fanatics has ever made better.

BlerdAngel

Found that bitchass fanatics employee

thehardchange

Thought the same about adidas jerseys when they switched from Reebok.

PoopSlinger23

Yeah, but nobody was worried the Adidas jerseys would be pure garbage

chickenlittle668

The Fanatics NHL ones will be very similar to the Adidas ones, not like those cheaper fanatics brand ones you could buy when Adidas was making them too

Turbulent_Cheetah

Fanatics fucked up the MLB jerseys. What makes you think they won’t do the same to the NHL ones?

ifmacdo

Nike fucked up the MLB jerseys. Fanatics git blamed, but even Nike admitted it was their fault.

BehemothManiac

Fanatics did not fuck up MLB jerseys. https://www.sportico.com/business/commerce/2024/mlbpa-nike-mlb-uniforms-1234777148/

Turbulent_Cheetah

Ummmmmmmm, yes they did. The CEO literally admitted as much.

BehemothManiac

No, he didn’t. It was Nike.

Turbulent_Cheetah

Rubin told The Athletic that his initial assumption after seeing the social media discussion was that his company was responsible, "My immediate reaction was, ‘We f—ed this up," Rubin said. Nike also fucked up

[deleted]

Thanks for providing the proof it was Nike

BehemothManiac

Oh you dishonest clown, why not provide the link to the full article? Or quote the next line? “My immediate reaction was, ‘We f—ed this up,” Rubin told The Athletic. It quickly became clear that Fanatics hadn’t. “ I didn’t want to mention this paywalled puff piece for Fanatics, but since you did, here it is: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5583821/2024/06/26/fanatics-nhl-jerseys/

chickenlittle668

I think it’s different but we’ll find out

IM_OSCAR_dot_com

Folks on both sides of this in here should get a closer look before judging. https://youtu.be/qYSJ8JfVDLQ

4 tiers of jerseys? Glad to hear he likes the on-ice tier, but makes me wonder at the garbage they’ll have for fans to purchase.

mikejc792

Personally, I hated the dimples. Looked tacky and busy to me. But either way, the on ice jerseys the players wear and can be purchased are being sewn by hand by the same people that made the on ice adidas, Reebok, and ccm jerseys. Only thing changing is the design and the logo. The lower tier replica jerseys are the problem. Fanatics is terrible at those.

booghawkins

The absolute obsession with this subject is so weird to me.

mikejc792

If you are somebody who purchases jerseys, it matters. Spending over $150 on a replica jersey that feels like it’s less than knockoff quality is frustrating. Not to mention fanatics has terrible styling for merch that doesn’t account well for teams’ individual brand language. But the on ice jerseys and authentic jerseys that will be for sale are not a problem. So people can chill about that in particular.

booghawkins

I have Adidas jerseys and a Fanatics jersey. I just fail to see the big difference. But I’m not a jersey expert so, I guess I just can’t tell.

mikejc792

I have over 20 jerseys from Gunzo’s koho, ccm, Nike, Reebok and adidas. Some replica level, some mid level, and some on ice level. Fanatics breakaways are the only ones that have exclusively iron on patches with printed fake stitching. In addition, of the two breakaway jerseys I have ordered one came with crooked numbers and name plate. And the other had hard creases and discoloration in the logo on the front. Just because you don’t care about quality control and the quality of materials, doesn’t mean there aren’t people who do.

BlandBenny89

I agree. There is a fanatics derangement syndrome with the nhl community. I have plenty of CCM, Reebok and adidas jerseys to compare them to. I have two fanatics breakaways and they are fine. They are slightly lesser quality than the adidas’ but they also were cheaper so they should be. I actually really like the way those fanatics breakaways fit. They’re super comfortable honestly and look fine for a casual jersey at a lesser price point. There definitely are legitimate quality control concerns with fanatics gear. We’ve seen plenty of examples over the last few years, but to act as if their jerseys are all just low quality trash that’s lesser than a knock of is laughable. I’m waiting to actually see what a true replica from fanatics looks like and fits like in person before I make any crazy statements about the quality. The level of freak out on the internet since they were announced is exhausting. It’s damn near a daily topic.

semi_anonymous

It so exhausting you wrote 2 paragraphs on the subject.

bkfountain

Because fanatics is a trash company with a horrible reputation.

seanm6614

Because the owner of fanatics is a total piece of shit that’s ruining the apparel industry for American sports leagues

HacksawJay

Fanatics is garbage I refuse to spend any more money on their products

BossScottie

Saying the only thing changing is the tag isn’t accurate. Yes, same factory and everything. But now there’s new people at the top, and they can easily demand more jerseys be pumped out in less time, so quality could easily take a dip. That’s why people are worried.

N-E-B

Nobody hates Fanatics more than me but I think, at least so far, Fanatics has actually done a good job with these jerseys. They’re virtually identical to the Adidas jerseys minus the shoulder dimples. Their logo is tarnished for sure, so I agree that their logo alone cheapens the jerseys, but aside from that there’s very little to complain about.

LGRW97980208

The jerseys look just fine, cope

PoopSlinger23

I don’t care who is actually making the jersey, I don’t want anything with a Fanatics logo on it

[deleted]

The only thing changing is the tag. Calm down.

[deleted]

Fanatics looks like cheap trash

BlerdAngel

Won’t buy another NHL jersey until changes are made.

Dismal-Course-8281

I bought from fanatics twice. The first time the shirt was really wide and really short. I figured it was just bad luck because how could the official website sell cheap junk. So I bought again and this time the fit was slightly better but the shirt was super thin and the graphics were extremely crooked. After that I gave up with the official store and buy all my team shirts from Walmart now. I can only imagine seeing players wearing weird sized thin shirts with crooked graphics 😂

Duurston

No.

DrSuperWho

I felt the same way when Nike first had its time in the league.
