The Yotes won 33 playoff games in their existence to Calgary’s 29 in the same amount of time. So, to be clear, you’re wishing them more success than the Flames?
Edit: I stand corrected, Chat GPT search was very wrong.
Nice try. They won a total of two rounds in their entire history (both in a single playoff run). In that same time period, the Flames won five rounds and made it to the finals.
I would have been stoked to get one of them at 11 in a normal year. Pulling that off *while also getting Celebrini* 1OA?
Hoping this pays off like crazy and that trade up from 14->11 looks like a genius move.
Because I love him.
I was so gung-ho on him being elite one day and I refuse to believe he wouldn’t have been if he went anywhere else. I’m sure I’ll get the “you’re a leaf fan” shit as always, but I genuinely do feel like Detroit is not at all what they used to be with development. Mantha, Bertuzzi, hell even Larkin never hit what they should’ve. Vrana became a hot mess, though maybe that was the drugs we’ll never know, Rasmussen, Zadina, I’m sure I could go on and on. They used to be elite at developing nhl talent but really have fallen off the map. It’s a shame because I used to love the Detroit/Toronto rivalry.
Ras has been solid, though he was recovering from a injury at the start of last season. His value, much of it anyways, is outside scoring. Larkin is a point a game guy, the others are exactly where they'd be regardless where they were drafted. Remember Detroit was in a steep rebuild when Larkin was taken . And Bertuzzi, imo, maxed out. He was never going to be a high scoring player. Mantha couldn't pass, nor play defense - even before he was drfafted.
Honestly not sure where you get the "can't develope." Maybe look at Raymond or does that not count?
Wild fan here. While I wouldn’t say it was THE steal of the draft, getting buium at 12 is great value nonetheless. Having a blue line with him and Faber will be awesome. But the Habs definitely got the best steal overall.
I seen few articles leading up to draft some highlights of what professional scouts are reporting, watched the games in international hockey...to me I don't know if he will crack NHL or could be a top 6 winger level guy...that's why I'm on the fence...of nygard there are about 5 to ten prospects I watched more of that are in top 30 or so ..and they stand out a bit more.
UHC stealing Iginla from the Flames and securing their first franchise rivalry.
I wish them the same level of success they enjoyed in Arizona for many decades to come.

Apologies, Chat GPT failed me in my search there. You right and I stand corrected.
Gotta be Buium. Eiserman at 20 is a shocker, but he was falling before the draft. Buium was widely expected to go in the 5-8 range.
*Disclaimer: I'm biased* It's still insane that we had the choice between Buium and Dickinson at pick 11.
Both of those picks are the steals of the draft with buium edging out dickinson
i love edging my dickinson
Usually ya gotta pay extra for that
That's not your bias talking, those two were supposed to go earlier and wouldn't have been a reach at 5.
Dickinson for me. I had him at 3 or 4. I can’t believe he fell that much.

I’m very impressed with San Jose so far. They aren’t just sitting around expecting to rebuild forever like Chicago and buffalo seem to want to do.
Eiserman at 20th surprised me.
Apparently he’s the new Shane wright
He's Zadina.
He's mad at Montreal even though four other teams passed on him?
I will never slander Zadina, I refuse to believe he wouldn’t have been good if he went anywhere other than Detroit 🤣
Why is that?
Because I love him. I was so gung-ho on him being elite one day and I refuse to believe he wouldn’t have been if he went anywhere else. The fact that no one picked Aaron Kiviharju in the first round will make him the best steal.
Isles rare dub with eiserman
Demidov being there was pretty hype but I woulda lost my shit if eiserman had also dropped that one last pick to the habs
Lushenko gets more points than any player in the draft in the first three years

What you think of yzerman pick? I'm on the fence about their potential but I'm not sure if he was the best available...or best for the team make up ..
You don’t even know his name but are on the fence about his potential?

His name is Eiserman
I'm talking about Detroit's GM pick nygard not the prospect that went 20th...what you talking about?
Then say nygard lol
Freaking fantastic pick and Flyers fan here but happy for you!!!
Every pick after seider has been a real head scratcher
I mean there's been so huh moments but they are looking like we might have some real talent l, Raymond's been great as well.
He'll be a solid middle 6 forward imo
I think Raymond can be a good 30g 45a level of player at his peak but a solid 30, 30 for most seasons..
I'm going with Connolly at 19
