I got a 23 sv with 7k miles on it for 30k. For the price it can’t be beat imo.

brillodelsol02

I thought about it but my 2018 P4X is paid off and a similar new is priced at 47k so I think I'll hang on. I'd keep that Tacoma and run it into the ground. I'm a cheap SOB however. I still am running my 2002 Ford Ranger also.

Alament92

Haha nice. My first truck was a ‘93 ranger that I ran into the ground. The Tacoma has 230k miles on it and am in that spot where I’m looking to offload it while it still has some worth, and before I have to drop any major repairs on it.

brillodelsol02

i stand corrected!

huntt252

I wanted a Tacoma but the cabin is less comfortable for me. I feel like I'm in a go-cart. The seat geometry just didn't feel good to me and I felt like the transmission was searching for gears too often on the highway. Frontier cabin was really comfortable and the transmission was pleasant to drive. I got a 2024 with all the packages and most other add ons for 44K and have been very pleased.

Alament92

For sure. Anything you wish you would have gotten/regretted getting?

huntt252

I could do without the sun roof. But everything else I really enjoy and since I plan to keep the truck until it dies I didn't mind spending money on it. Heated seats. Heated steering wheel. Remote start, etc. All that stuff you don't need but once you have it you love it.

The Frontier is a solid 6-8 across the board. It is best at nothing, and the worst and nothing. It does some things very well, some things Ok. Anything you could do in any other mid-size truck, you can do in a Frontier. It's not a new engine, not a transmission, problems are minimal, finicky things. You can get into a Pro-4x for less than 40,000.00, pretty easy. The best midsize to actually buy today, is an SV. Same engine, transmission as the Pro-4x. And the suspension, you'll change anyways. The locker? Ehhh, go buy one. A new top of the line Tacoma in my neck of the woods, costs between 55-60,000. You would be an idiot of immeasurable size, if you pay 60,000.00 for a midsize truck. You can nearly buy 2 Frontiers for that. Anyone who buys a new loaded Tacoma, just stop being their friend. Just, give up on them. If they pull up to your house, ask them to leave. If you see one on the road, point and laugh. They've lost their mind, and don't understand value, or money, or have basic common sense. It's not even bias, it's just common sense. If the Tacoma is the 100% do everything truck, which it isn't...the Frontier is the 97% truck and loaded, is 20,000 less. Is 3%, if that is even actually the difference, worth 20,000? 20,000, for a brand. Sorry, I am going with what makes sense.

Rembrilliant

Answer is pretty simple No any turdbo like in taco 🤷🏼‍♂️

FLOHTX

You ok?

Rembrilliant

Perfectly fine, y? Is it tacos forum? I did that b4 got bunch of hate

FLOHTX

Sorry man, maybe you're not a native English speaker. My apologies if not. You get your point across mostly. The sentence structure and syntax need some work, but I don't speak a second language as fluently as you! Great job.

bonerjamz2021

Have a '23 pro4x. Its been great so far. My only complaint is the speed limits aren't higher. You'll be going 50 and it feels like nothing

anthnyconsprcy

I always back Toyota Tacomas but they’re new gen model seems like they trying too hard. The aggressive look is a head turner for sure but it doesn’t make up for how cheap I feel the truck is made. The 4 cylinder engine just tells you everything. Test drive a frontier and floor that fucker. You’ll understand. I’m already seeing them on the street more often than the new frontiers. It loses its appeal when you see them on every corner.

stumphead11

Just one dude's opinion, but I think the third generation Frontier blows the third gen Tacoma out of the water. The engine/transmission combo is just way better. I personally much preferred the interior on the Frontier, also. That said... I kind of wish I would have waited for the 4th gen Tacoma. I think their exterior design is hideous, but I really liked the interior layout, and I do like the 4cyl turbo. Also, do the math on the depreciation. You're going to save money now with the Frontier, but if/when you go to sell , likely get 30% less than a similar vintage tacoma. The two Toyotas I've had each depreciated less than $5k in the 100k miles I owned them, while my Frontier has already depreciated that much in 20k miles over a year. The quality difference between the Frontier and Tacoma does NOT justify that difference in my opinion, but it is what it is from a financial perspective.

Alament92

I suppose that’s why the ‘23 I’m going to look at today is such a great price. Almost makes more sense to buy a slightly used than new.

savesthedayrocks

I don’t know what market the pro-x serves, but if it fits your need have fun!
