The real ones usually just have two tiny dots of chocolate for the eyes (it will still taste like plastic but they're so tiny I never notice).
Good peeps are very soft, fluffy marshmallow with a solid coat of yellow colored sugar that can and will get everywhere. And they taste like marshmallow, not cotton candy (unless you get weird flavored ones but I don't like those)
They are my favorite things in the entire world and I will eat an entire package if I let myself xD
They are insanely sweet (its just fluffy sugar coated in more sugar), sticky, and will make you kinda sick if you eat more than like 3. It's definitely not an everyday snack or anything, I usually just pick up one package in April and I'm good for the year after that xD

Those were definitely stale. They’re supposed to be soft and airy; you can put a finger through a fresh Peep without much effort. Putting pressure on them through the package should make them squish and bounce back into shape, not crack and fold. I was given some old package by a housemate one time and it sucked. Just rubbery, hard, nasty marshmallow bricks.
Edit: If they’re not too far gone, I’ve found that cooking them over a fire like you would camping helps rejuvenate stale ones, plus you get a molten, crackly sugar coat on a hot, puffed up marshmallow.
Japanese marshmallows are definitely superior to North American ones. I’m Canadian so we get a lot of American candy over here and it’s almost like American candy makers only care about how much sugar and colour they can pack into something, not about actual flavor
When you make Indomie, you mix all your seasonings into a bowl. I like to add more--I usually add powdered garlic, powdered ginger, and powdered cayenne or ghost pepper as well (I like it spicy). As well as add a splash of sesame oil, and if you want a calorie (and texture) boost another splash of a healthy oil like olive oil.
Fry an egg to put on top. Keep that yolk liquid. Sprinkle liberally with sesame seeds or your favorite furikake! And always add some green onion/chive
If you like nuts and chocolate, macadamia is really really good the macadamia is very nutty and creamy and the chocolate’s sweetness is just right.
Fujiya home pie is also good. It taste like sugar rusk but instead of a hard bread it’s crispy pie crust.
And for something savory calbee kataage black pepper chips is really really good.
Actually all of calbees products are Amazing! I highly recommend

They're not supposed to be. i just refused to let anyone pull my tooth out and i ended up biting into a peep and it fell out because my tooth was so loose. I personally think they taste terrible because of they food coloring dye they use, but i think most peeps are just stale which makes them more chewy and taste worse than they're supposed to be.
