Thanks, I'm the dev of the game and working full time on it 😁 the goal was indeed to focus on the flow part with a chill atmosphere and refined controls/UI etc. I hope you like the look of it, cheers !!
I like this, you’re a good game dev.
Please be sure to take breaks, get those stretches in the sun, and have fun too! Don’t work till you collapse ok?
Wishing you the best in both the game and your general wellbeing~ 🍑👍
Thank you so much, that is so wholesome !! Rest assured, I've never liked "crunch", I work really efficiently to have some free time to go running, meet friends at the bar etc. 😊 Take care as well, your comment put a huge smile on my face, I'll do my best to make an awesome game !
Will do ! 1.0 will probably be next year but as another user said you can already get it on sales and try the [free demo](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/) :D
There are multiple others, the best one I've found is momentum mod, it's still in playtesting phase and you need to request (but you get in just wait a day or so), and it has multiple different modes too, such as bhop, (and i can't remember the rest).
I honestly thought this was based on Atomic Heart's second DLC. Did not know there were other games with these mechanics, super cool. Gonna check it out!
Yes Atomic Heart's DLC was also based on Source engine's surfing mechanic!! I liked it so much I decided to make it a full game, I hope you'll enjoy it if you try it :D
Looks great! The speed lines are a tad distracting when they're on all the time, maybe bump up the speed threshold for when they come on. Also the vertical lines kind of look like rain? But they're moving with the player, not fixed in the world, so they look a bit out of place
Nice. I think this is the lizard one? The gravity seems a bit off when shooting off the slanted object then landing on another slanted object that’s tilted in the same direction of the jump/fall. Best wishes.
Right as the video started I could tell it wasn’t CS surfing but it definitely is built on the same idea. Kinda cool actually. I played so much of this back in the day
Yep CSS surfing is very much active.
I am very hopefully for Momentum Mod to be a real competitor in terms being able to succeed or at least compete with CSS.
Right thats why each server I went into always had some teenagers or 20 somethings calling each other retards and shouting the N word whenever they realized they were losing an argument
CS2 did ruin surf though. Kept hitting pebbles
lol right, me joining a server and being thrust into a racist, aggressive conversation between 16 year old's and 30 year old's is me attracting a toxic attitude.
I mute them, and then play the game
I will do my best anyway ! I've been gathering feedback from both CS surf veterans and newcomers to try to find the perfect balance and learning curve 😁 gameplay is not frozen since I can easily tweak things so it's really nice to play with that decades old mechanic!!
It’s a game called Hoverflow: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/
I am in no way affiliated with the game and just bought it a couple days ago. I’m just really having fun with it and wanted to post this clip.
Was it Get to the Orange Door? That one is very inspired by Titanfall 2 movement and has guns. Might not be what you’re referring to cuz I’m not sure if it’s quite wireframe.
I had commented on one of his posts earlier in the day mentioning I was stuck on a level. He responded to me last night asking which level and I told him I figured it out and posted about it. So he checked out my post from there.
I am the dev of Hoverflow and you are absolutely right, I got a lot of inspiration from Neon White 😁 but definitely wanted to remove the shooting part and focus on flow ! (The white bouncing spheres got taken from NW haha)
Ever since finishing Neon White, I've been hoping for another game that hits similar notes. I'll check Hoverflow out!
The way this player was clearing entire platforms once he got enough speed and the right jump angle is pure NW.
It's insanely addicting. This looks like a chill game, though. Neon White feels like taking amphetamines between the music and the quick-twitch shooting. It's really fun and I absolutely recommend, but don't play it before bed or it'll be hard to fall asleep after 😅
It's called [Hoverflow](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/) and there is a free demo if you wanna try it :D I definitely need some feedback
Yo this takes me way back to Wolfenstein ET strafejumping.
Is there a strafejump mechanic to this or is it pure directional momentum?
(edit: I'm asking because I think I percieve some "whipping" motion right before every time you jump. Back in WolfET and COD2, you would combine forward movement and strafe, then "whip" the mouse towards your target to trick the game into exceeding your max movement speed to make longer jumps)
Either way I'm probably gonna have to try this eventually lol. Might scratch the itch from my PC glory days
I’m doing the whipping motion because of how the slanted surf walls work. You want to gain momentum by sliding downwards but then flick up to get air off the edges of the surf walls. I’m not totally sure what strafejumping is. I’ll have to look it up.
Oh yeah that sounds really similar, maybe minus the neccesity of using the forward/strafe keys to "cheat" the game into moving you faster.
I'll have to check this out, has some nostalgia factor for me and looks super satisfying. Good post buddy I'm glad I found it :)
Ah ok nice! It is a very satisfying game and fun to figure out which route will keep your momentum the best. It has a demo so it’s easy to try out to see if you like it. It’s also on sale right now!
I'm the dev and damn I'm surprised you quote a favorite game of mine hahaha, did all the achievements on xbox 360 back in the days, the dlc were amazing
Whoa, did not expect the dev to answer here :)
Keep up the good work. I never made it to developing my own games somehow so I appreciate someone trying to build some art for a screen. I am only developing full stack for some company to keep the bills paid.
Maybe you can add some Oblivion easter egg at some point ;)
Thanks a lot, I'm doing my best !! I was a full stack/devSecOps before working full time on this game also :D it clearly paid the bills haha
Hahaha I'll hide the Umbra sword in a level!
I can understand that. Watching games on mkb can be a bit jarring sometimes. The flicks are the best way I’ve found to get air off the edges of the walls.
You can try [Hoverflow](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/) on Steam, there is a free demo :D if you're a surf veteran I would very much like to have your feedback on gameplay and level design !
Damn first time I see a video of my game and it's not me playing, thanks a lot for buying it and posting 😍 it means a lot !! I hope you like it so far !
I haven’t done CS surfing but I played Titanfall 2. It’s tough to beat that movement but Hoverflow does feel really good. The surfing feels a bit different cuz you’re not running on a wall. This game relies on momentum and doing what you can to keep momentum and build speed.
It turns out surf, jump and hide and seek servers were way more fun than getting dinked through walls or 1 deag’d from across the map in CS 1.6.
Edit: Sorry I can’t forget scoutzknivez as being the true skill test for combat.
i'm pretty sure i've seen this game in the unity subreddit or the indiedev sub, if you're the the dev that's some clever marketing here, if not, how in the hell you're playing this?
Posts in this sub are supposed to be **satisfying for people to watch**, not some random-and-not-interesting-at-all video of something that was satisfying for the OP to do.
Cool ! Looks like "surfing" in counter strike But more colorful and less violent lol
Thanks, I'm the dev of the game and working full time on it 😁 the goal was indeed to focus on the flow part with a chill atmosphere and refined controls/UI etc. I hope you like the look of it, cheers !!
A whole game for surfing instead of mods for CS was a good idea 👍
Thanks !! I still have to make a full level editor for the community to fully enjoy it :D
What's the name of the game?? You're doing a good job!
Thanks a lot !! 😍 It's Hoverflow, it's in early access but I'm full time on it!
can’t wait to play it!!
And I can't wait to have your feedback!!
Now he should create a game of CS using mods inside the surfing game.
Love the idea lmao
Damn as an old CS surf enjoyer I am hyped! Let us know when the game is done
You can already buy it in early access and it is on sale right now
Will do ! 1.0 will probably be next year but as another user said you can already get it on sales and try the [free demo](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/) :D
Can you add the option to have a jungle soundtrack please
Hehe I definitely like to play with techno or drum&bass as well :D it won't be an option but probably the main tracks for more difficult levels !!
Amazing dude I was wondering why there isn't a dedicated surf game.
There are multiple others, the best one I've found is momentum mod, it's still in playtesting phase and you need to request (but you get in just wait a day or so), and it has multiple different modes too, such as bhop, (and i can't remember the rest).
Same, the surf mechanic is so thrilling and satisfying to master!
What is it called? I want it
It's called Hoverflow, and there is a free demo on Steam 😁 it's also 60% off during the Steam sales! Can't wait to have your feedback hehe
This needs VR support
Haha someone said to add VR and rebrand the game "Terrific Vomitorium" as well 😂
Looks great!
Thanks. Watching this made me very nostalgic for the old cs 1.6 days
These were the days indeed
Was gonna say it looked like a TF2 jump map with the rocket jumps replaced by bounce pads lol
It's indeed inspired by Source engine games !
I haven’t heard of surfing in counter strike but I might have to check it out!
That's what I thought this was at first. Didn't realize someone turned it into a standalone game
no shot
You might want to wait, last I heard they broke surfing when switching from go to cs2
Aw damn. I’ll look up some videos on YouTube to see what it is.
Incase I can recommend you "repster" on YouTube
Oh wow that does look really similar to this game! Way more difficult from what I saw.
Blows my mind that people are now playing games near identical to cs surf and don't know about it's existence, makes me feel old AF lol.
I’m feeling pretty old these days too to be honest. I got a PC about 5 years ago so I wasn’t in the scene growing up.
you can surf on garrys mod too
Well yeah It's the same game engine made for half life 2, then used for counter strike source which they later to use Garrys mod.
I know, I just figured if op didnt know it was on counter strike, they might not have known it was on gmod either
lmao
This gave me some real flashbacks to playing CS surf maps! I used to love them.
Well shit, if counterstrike/valve is gonna abandon surf then I guess it's fair game for a different developer.
Right as the video started I could tell it wasn’t CS surfing but it definitely is built on the same idea. Kinda cool actually. I played so much of this back in the day
I think surfing was always community
It still is ! KSF servers are a lot of fun on CSS :)
Yep CSS surfing is very much active. I am very hopefully for Momentum Mod to be a real competitor in terms being able to succeed or at least compete with CSS.
I hope as well! I am still waiting for an access tough.. :(
It still is as far as I know. I was surfing just back in late 2023 because it's still fun. Community is toxic as shit though
CS2 ruined surf. The surf community, in my experience, was never toxic. Just the base game
Right thats why each server I went into always had some teenagers or 20 somethings calling each other retards and shouting the N word whenever they realized they were losing an argument CS2 did ruin surf though. Kept hitting pebbles
Did you miss the part where I said "in my experience"? Sorry yours was toxic, maybe you attract that attitude.
lol right, me joining a server and being thrust into a racist, aggressive conversation between 16 year old's and 30 year old's is me attracting a toxic attitude. I mute them, and then play the game
CS2 doesn't have surf??
At best its broken.
I will do my best anyway ! I've been gathering feedback from both CS surf veterans and newcomers to try to find the perfect balance and learning curve 😁 gameplay is not frozen since I can easily tweak things so it's really nice to play with that decades old mechanic!!
This takes me back to 2006/2007, i still have my CSS CD
🙆♂️
Idk what that means.
I think they're helping with a genkidama
Bros boutta make a story time YouTube video with this one💀
Man I miss leafy but holy hell was he toxic as hell
What is this?
It’s a game called Hoverflow: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/ I am in no way affiliated with the game and just bought it a couple days ago. I’m just really having fun with it and wanted to post this clip.
Thanks! Looks dope
Yeah it’s been really cool. There’s a demo as well so it’s easy to give it a try.
looks like another game on steam i forgot the name of. it was wire frame and animations for the hands looked almost identical.
Was it Get to the Orange Door? That one is very inspired by Titanfall 2 movement and has guns. Might not be what you’re referring to cuz I’m not sure if it’s quite wireframe.
I’m curious how the game dev just happens to show up in the comments.
I had commented on one of his posts earlier in the day mentioning I was stuck on a level. He responded to me last night asking which level and I told him I figured it out and posted about it. So he checked out my post from there.
Thanks!
!remindme 6 hours
This gives me Neon White vibes, just without the shooting. Loved NW so I might check this out too.
I didn't get feedback from NW players so far so it would be really interesting !! I hope you'll like, there is a free demo anyway :D
Well I'll definitely let you know my thoughts then!
I was just looking at that game the other day! It looks really cool.
It's insanely addicting. This looks like a chill game, though. Neon White feels like taking amphetamines between the music and the quick-twitch shooting. It's really fun and I absolutely recommend, but don't play it before bed or it'll be hard to fall asleep after 😅
Haha good to know. I might pick it up soon. Hoverflow is definitely a chill game. All about keeping momentum and finding flow.
Hijacking comment to also recommend Ghostrunner if you haven't played that already
Yeah I dig that game. Just played the second one for a little bit recently.
Haven't played the second one yet, it's on the list, just need to beat Elden Ring DLC first.
This is what passes for surfing these days? Some of those cs/HL2DM maps were absolutely bonkers.
I'm the dev of the game, you feedback on level design would be awesome if you've played a lot of surf ! Cheers :)
What's the actual name of it? I'd like to give it a first person account before I make any comments.
It's called [Hoverflow](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/) and there is a free demo if you wanna try it :D I definitely need some feedback
I haven’t played those games but this one is fun to me

Loved playing surf back in the day. Especially mesa…
I plan to add surf_mesa in Hoverflow haha to see how it behaves on this game 😁 your feedback on it would be awesome!
I love that we all collectively had memories of surfing in CS. Good times!!
Counter strike source surf maps have come a long way
What game is this? Used to surf a lot on counter strike.
It's called [Hoverflow](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/) ! I put up a free demo and it's 60% off if you wanna try it :D Cheers !
Thank you!!
https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/s/jF5IDMWWef
WTF , this looks pretty similar to Counter Strike surf concept !
I'm the dev, I decided to make a standalone surf game indeed :D
Nice that brings a lot of nostalgia! I spent uncountable hours playing CS surf maps
Same! I wanted people to discover that amazing feeling without downloading any Source game :D
An actual cs surfing game, might check out. I wonder if they used valve's engine
It’s built on Unity
I recreated the Valve air mechanics on Unity as OP said, I would love your feedback on it ! Positive or negative hehe
How do I play this game, looks so fun!
I’m having a blast so far! It’s on steam in early access and on sale right now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/
I am strongly averse to getting into games like this because I know I’ll never get any frigging research done! It looks awesome. Dammit. -_-
Looks like someone added a Parcours Mod to TES Oblivion
I'm the dev and damn I'm surprised you quote a favorite game of mine hahaha, did all the achievements on xbox 360 back in the days, the dlc were amazing
Whoa, did not expect the dev to answer here :) Keep up the good work. I never made it to developing my own games somehow so I appreciate someone trying to build some art for a screen. I hate these kind of games. There's really just one way to beat a level, very restrictive and no freedom of movement.
I'm the dev and as OP said rest assure I create multiple routes when designing a level :D Cheers !
In the levels I’ve played so far there are many different routes you can take. Part of the fun is figuring out which route you like!
Any chance this works on mac? Looks cool
A Mac port is planned but I couldn't test it so far, you'll have to wait a bit :)
Looks like it’s just windows unfortunately.
I’m not gonna lie. The sudden jerks and the hard landings kinda ruin it for me.
I can understand that. Watching games on mkb can be a bit jarring sometimes. The flicks are the best way I’ve found to get air off the edges of the walls.
I used to surf an awful lot in TF2, good memories.
Damn as an old CS surf enjoyer I am hyped! Let us know when the game is done
I’ll keep an eye on it. You can always wishlist on steam. I’m playing it in early access. It’s on sale right now.
You can try [Hoverflow](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/) on Steam, there is a free demo :D if you're a surf veteran I would very much like to have your feedback on gameplay and level design !
Completing levels are really satisfying. Good job!
Thank you! I finally found the flow.
Damn first time I see a video of my game and it's not me playing, thanks a lot for buying it and posting 😍 it means a lot !! I hope you like it so far !
Having tons of fun!
So glad! Don't hesitate if you have any feedback, I'm working full time on the game !
Mouse n keyboard or controller game?
It works with both. I’m playing on mouse and keyboard and it feels great. Haven’t tried controller.
Does it play like Source engine surfing? I surfed in CS 1.6, and TF2 back in the day.
I haven’t done CS surfing but I played Titanfall 2. It’s tough to beat that movement but Hoverflow does feel really good. The surfing feels a bit different cuz you’re not running on a wall. This game relies on momentum and doing what you can to keep momentum and build speed.
Works like CS surfing indeed with refined controls, you can try the free demo if you want ! 😁
What game is this?
Hoverflow
Reminds me of the old Tribes games
I miss leafy
Well all do
Surf maps have come a long way. Wow
Hehe it's [Hoverflow](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280060/Hoverflow/), a standalone surfing game actually !
Physics: "Aight, Imma head out..."
Warning. Post is an ad.
It’s really not. I have no affiliation with the game. Found it on Reddit a couple days ago and have just been having fun with it.
It turns out surf, jump and hide and seek servers were way more fun than getting dinked through walls or 1 deag’d from across the map in CS 1.6. Edit: Sorry I can’t forget scoutzknivez as being the true skill test for combat.
Call of duty players: “we want boots on the ground! Not advanced movement!” Also call of duty players:
Reminds me of 3D line rider
What is the name of the game?
https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/s/gCcyExsGeM

Leafywashere
What game is this? Looks sick
https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/s/kLH26LPLBK
Is this vr?
Nope not that I know of.
Do you like to vomit?
You have weak VR legs. This kind of game would not make you vomit if you are desensitized to VR sickness.
A user suggested I make the game VR and rebrand it "Terrific Vomitorium" lmao
I wish CS surf would release on Fortnight
Just wait a bit, they surely will since they do everything haha
i'm pretty sure i've seen this game in the unity subreddit or the indiedev sub, if you're the the dev that's some clever marketing here, if not, how in the hell you're playing this?
Yeah I saw it posted in r/mirrorsedge. I’m not affiliated with the game, I just bought it on steam!
Cool, didn't knew it was published already
I think it’s in Early Access but it’s available.
I'm the dev and happily surprised to find the video here haha, never thought some gameplay would end up here but I am glad !
Means that you achieved the satisfying gameplay XD
Yes I'm glad people find it cool to watch !! 😍
What is this Squidward track mania game?
lol it’s called Hoverflow
I will not be playing your indie game
It’s not my game. Found it on Reddit and decided to try it out.
Urban Terror needs to make a comeback. Please 🙏🏻 😢
So Super Monkey Ball?
this game should add rocket jumping
Posts in this sub are supposed to be **satisfying for people to watch**, not some random-and-not-interesting-at-all video of something that was satisfying for the OP to do.
I know what this sub is for. I found it satisfying to watch as well. Needed the title to say something.
I want to play Titanfall 2 now..
Such a great game
