It is a strange presentation of suicide on TV, I think. Chuck didn’t present any symptoms of depression, which is the number one cause of suicide, and if he was depressed I don’t think the show writers showed it.
Chuck’s suicide was motivated by anger more than sadness.
I would say it was more motivated by mental illness than anger, he wasn't really angry. He tore apart his house, and once he stopped he most likely felt that he hit a point of no return.
Oh yes he was definitely suffering from some kind of mental illness, my point is that this mental illness leads you toward extreme anger just as much as depression can lead you towards deep sadness.

But he insulated his house like it was a baked potato. He refused to be honest with himself about being done with HHM partly because of his condition. He was only ever honest with Jimmy regarding his opinion of him when it boiled over into rage.
There's no scene where he comes out and says "damn I'm sad fr", but the man clearly has a long, complicated mental road that got him to the point we first meet him at.
He's having a slow-moving mental breakdown, and depression absolutely comes with that.
